Simple, but thoughtful, question.
If you were never registered here at the Technodrome Forums, how, in your opinion, would it affect others and the Forum itself? :-?
Take your time with your answers. Keep it clean as possible, for I know this has the possibility to get out of hand.
If I wasn't here? Well, I'm sure there are opposing opinions within others, but my personal opinion is it would probably be a better place.
I've been very rude in the past. I got extreme with a few members here. Some I regret, some I don't. On the original Drome, I ranked up 3,000 posts in under 4 months due to one-line posts and spam threads before the Forum Games was constructed. I became a moderator without meeting any of the moderator requirements, and that upset a lot of people. I think most got over it, but I'm sure there's people who still feel bad about it. I'm sure my J-Pop avatars/sigs and ramblings get annoying with people. I know there's a few people here who can't stand J-Pop, and I'm sure you have good reason for it. I'm not faulting you for it. All in all, I don't contribute much to this place, but I'm always here, so that's gotta count for something.

As for me, well it's kind of obvious, and at the same time, it's not.
If I wasn't here, there definitely would've been less 5th Turtle fantasies being exposed. There would probably be no 'Type Something Stupid' thread (Although many were thinking it, I was the first to pull it off). I'd probably be gone from my home right about now, possibly for the worst.
I don't know, so many things could happen and not happen that would affect this entire website, if not a certain area of the country, if I wasn't here.
I know I annoy certain people as well, but I try to put some purpose behind it. And I do it out of the goodness of my heart. :) Some people just feel depressed sometimes. I feel it.
All I want to do is put a smile on your faces, even though I'll never see those smiles. :( I like it when people have positive results about me when I do something here. I feel that's my job here; to entertain as much as possible without breaking the law of the forums. I haven't gotten a single warning yet, and I am damn proud of it.
All I know is this:
Without me, there would be no Benvenuto the Undisputed 5th Turtle. There would be no It's Game Time!! There would be know videogame master boasts.
There would just be a void unfilled. :ohwell:

Honestly, because I'm hardly a prominent poster, I don't imagine there'd be much difference. Though I'd like to think a couple-a folks would end their week a few chuckles short of their quotas without my sparkling wit, radiance and all around iffy sense of humor to liven up the joint. Nor would the past two Forum Awards been as kick ass.
Though, I'd be about 40 dollars richer.

There's like what? Well over a thousand members, right? I think less than one percent of that are actually memorable and intriguing characters.

Well, I know I wouldn't be as crazed about TMNT. Don't get me wrong. I love TMNT, but I don't really know anyone in person that I could share my interest with. I certainly wouldn't be doing half as much TMNT art if it weren't for this place.
This is actually the first message board I ever joined. Before this place, I never had online friends. The thought of meeting and hanging out with people on the Web was alien to me.
Would this place be different without me? Not really. I don't think my absence of existence would really make a difference with anyone too.
Heh. There would be less art in here, but that's about it.
Even as a mod, I don't make any impact or differences. I mean, like, all the GD guys have the GD section well under control. I'm one mod too many... Rather useless.
You and Ai became mods for a reason, Ryo. Try to realize that. Krang felt that you guys can make a difference for the better. Otherwise, he could've picked somebody else.

Like, the guys are here in the GD often, posting and getting involved in every section.
With me, I don't even really post in some of these sections.
My mod position here stems from Anarky's forums. There, I was an active mod. Here, I'm just so useless.

Hmmm...frankly, if I had never joined, I think no diffences would've been made. I barely ever post. But I have to admit that talking to other TMNT fans (some members stand out more) actually made my life a whole lot better. (It's cheesy, but it's true)
Hmm, I think it's how you apply yourself, Anarchistguy. Somehow, someway, you would make an impact and people would notice.
And I'm glad to hear that this place has affected you in a good manner. :D

If I had never ventured to the Drome, I'd never meant many of my good friends. But I dunno what anyone would think of not having met me!! Heh.
It's weird how I got here. I don't even watch TMNT anymore. I still own the old movies on VHS and I used to collect the toys when I was a kid, but that's as far as I go. I've posted in the TMNT section a total of three times since I joined here. I remember Voltron told me about this place and how it's a nerd haven and if you ever have a question about something, this would be the place to ask. So I joined and I was bored one day, so I started posting for no reason. And I still remember the first person to respond to me....it was Matt. Good ol' Matt. He was a Japan hater back then, so he was all over me. Those were some fun times, indeed.
I know that if I haven't met you here, JD, I'd never have read a great story like What The Heart Wants. :D
And L2, do you really mean that? I'd gladly check out your room. I'd might even borrow a few things. :lol: I'd bring them back, though.
You guys are all really cool people to talk to, no matter who stands out more.
Some people just have that certain aura around when they join...

I'd have to say had this topic been started about a year or so ago my answer may have been much shorter.
I've been here at the Technodrome for quite some time now, and really this has been the only discussion board I've come back to for this long. I found this place while surfing the web out of boardom one summer and for once being board was to my advantage. :P
I've made some really good friends here and met some awesome artist, writers, and just plain wonderful people while posting. I'm not quite sure what kind of impact I've made on others, but this place has given a lot to me.
Without a doubt, I'd have to say the one particular thing comes to mind. Without joining this place I would have never met the love of my life, KROW. There just isn't any way for me to describe the way I feel. The man has changed my life and made me better in so many ways. I've never been happier :) . It was, indeed, the last thing I expected and yet the best thing I've ever gotten out of joining ANY site.
This place has given me so much. I'm super glad I made the decision to join...even tho at the time I wasn't the biggest TMNT fan in the universe. :P

Hmm, well, I kind of stumbled upon this place by random incident. Way on back in 2002, not too long after the 'Drome had just been upgraded to Invisionboard, I was stumbling around the web trying desperately to find a place where I could find some crapped out VHS tapes of the old TMNT toon, but without luck. Old DarthRapheal (one of the ooooooold mods who seems to have disappeared eons ago) offered to make me some copies of the dvix rips, but the deal kind of fell though for some reason. Can't even remember why. Anyways, I just left and poked around, but something about this place seemed a bit homey. I couldn;t figure out just why, but I thought the people seemed nice so I joined up and made one cheezy ass avater. Ninja Sonic the Hedgehog or something I think. Kinda wiggled around like an average n00bie for awhile, but after I got to know you guys, I could never leave.
If I hadn't stayed? Hmmm...There probobly wouldn't be all that much "OMFG TEH G@M1NG INDUZTRY IS tEH D00mORZ!!!!!1!" rants floating around :lol:. God I'm an idiot. I wouldn't be the Jpop nut I am (and proud to be) now *tips hat to Ai*, and we probobly wouldn't have had all that fun provoking Matt into snapping at us over our Jap obsession in the ole days. :lol: (sorry Matt :D ;) ).
Hell, you guys have taught me so much. Without the Technodrome, I'd proboby be some little jerkoff running around Planet Gamecube screaming about how I'm going to burn down Bill Gate's house or something, and then kill myself from being so damn lonely on in this godforsaken state. You guys are family. It showed how close we all are with how hard we all fought to keep this place together back in last year.
And had not any one of you been here, this place would loose a little of itself for each and every one that wasn't. I'll stop now before I start to sound like an afternoon special. :lol:

When I first got here, I was sorta known for just being an idiot. I REALLY lived up to my screen name, but that was years ago. If I never registered, a lot of people would never have been entertained by the "the official nincompoop of The Technodrome". Nowadays, I've given up the goofy gimmick and am now serious about things, so I guess if I left now... I wouldn't make much of a difference. But it's nice to know that if I wasn't here at all, some smiles and laughs wouldn't have happened. And Azure Turtle would've never met another person, on this board, who was in to wrestling E-Feds. :D

Yeah, I save every nastygram I get from people on this board. The stack is getting pretty large, too, so I must not be good at taking hints.
My story?
I signed up in Feburary, 2003 while I was in second period Creative Writing. I said a bunch of stuff about Leonardo which resulted in a ton of hate mail, then I told everyone I was better than them which resulted in a ton of love mail. Baffled, I decided to clean up my act as best I could.
And then there's some dark stuff that happened behind the scenes that I'm not allowed to talk about under penalty of death.
Other than that, I make no, nor have never made any notable contribution here. :D

Well, I'd probably be lazing about the LOTR Fan Club forums. I drifted there before my inception over here at the humongously spherical love palace. :P
I stumbled upon the Drome while surfing for TMNT stuff. I was intrigued about seeing a site that was "run by the bad guys" and decided to join the forum.
I, too, ran into some highly-opinionated folks, as well as some miscreants that were just plain idiotic (Ben remembers), but that's to be expected when you're anonymous, I guess.
Of course, if I never registered here, I'd never have met Storm Wolf. And as Ben said, she did indeed make an impact on me, as I'm sure I made on her. I won't get into it all; I'll spare you the romantics. :P
Also, I would never have met all the fine folks that I talk to via IM, who've helped try to cheer me up when I felt lower than low and who accepted my advice when I tried to help them in turn. Thanks for being there, and thanks for letting me be there for you (you know who you are).
If I was never here.......I actually do not know. Mainly there wouldn't be as many Dragon-related topics :P
I was just getting into the loop of TMNT on that fateful day - September the 19th. Somehow, I found a site called "The Technodrome". Curiousity got the better of me as I got in for a closer look. Soon I was all signed up, and (with a huge bunch of nerves) posted my Intro thread. Soon after a week or so I went way for two or three weeks and came back to find my new found favorite site had been moved to GD forums. I pretty much grew up there, but I was just glad that it was still up and running
As for what the 'drome would be like without me? My life would be pointless and I wouldn't be as happy as I am now, and Mars wouldn't get a glomping whenever she pokes her heads back into the Intro section ;)

I think there is one major difference to how it would have effected my life. The biggest, was Krang saying "If you are bored, you should check out Me and Shredder's new site" during a fateful PM chat which led to me (In a roundabout way) Meeting the love of my life.
Plus, I got to meet a lot of cool people here on the forums. Sean, Amy, And Krang himself being the biggest ones that I've gotten close with. As well as countless others like Tetsu, Barkworm, Gwgtrunks, Ai, TMB, Ryo, Dawn, Benvenuto Etc.
I really dig knowing all of you people.

Anyway, if I had never registered, the forums would still look like a default installation of phpBB 1.4.0 with no boards, since without an account, I wouldn't have been able to customize the forums beyond that. :P
And in my opinion, everyone who has posted at least a few times has contributed to the forums in one way or another, whether they think so or not.

Actually, Matt, through a fog of boredom, I went through all the old stuff that was posted here before I arrived and I saw that you seemed to make certain threads entertaining. In a few topics, you tossed out humor and others you offered knowledge. In heated debates, you had posts that would make a common person sit back and think before lashing out and making things worse.
Most times, you were a voice of reason more than a nuisance, and I didn't even know you yet.

I dont quite remember how I got here I was probably looking for TMNT stuff or something... but I can only say Thanks to everybody cause you have all made an impact in my life and I guess that in a lot of others here too , I have made some really good friends here that lighten up my day when sometimes things arent going so well , so I always look forward to meeting you all here, and I have to Thank Krang too cause without him we wouldnt have this place :)

Hmm... this is quite a touching thread. :) Everyone here has made great contributions to making the Drome one of the Greatest TMNT Sites on the Net. I know I never would have made such great friends online if I hadnt come here. I don't know where I'd be without all of you..

I have to repeat everyone by saying that if I’d never signed up here, I’d have missed out on meeting some of the coolest people. I don’t know how my absence would have altered the board’s evolution, though. I’m not exactly a “mover and shaker” of the fandom.

I see that the forums have come to mean a lot to many of the members here. I never realized how much though. It's great to see such a tight nit community of people. We were all brought together for a reason and, weather we know it or not, each of us has contributed to the other in some fashion.

This Forum averages members who are 20-30 years old, and to have a member who is still a young teenager kind of throws the balance off.
You have a tendency of being immature at times, but only because you're young. That's all there is to it. I was like that, too. :)
Don't think that you're not a key member of this forum, because you are. Everybody is.

It still does exist. It's more of a backup place though, in case there's problems with the Technodrome. ;)

Actually, you've made me think twice about the intentions of kids. You're so damn smart for your age, so I figure there are more of you. I watch my back when kids are around now, you never know what kind of crazy sh*t they're planning.
