Sadly no word yet but just so you know it won't be the complete third season all at once. That's why the title of the Season 2 DVD was changed to Volume 2.

Well, since Vol. 1 came out in April 2004, and Vol. 2 came out in April 2005, I'll take a stab at it and say April 2006.

Most likely but it isn't entirely impossible that it will be released earlier. I mean, a season or less a year of a ten season show is ridiculous by any standard.

True, it's not out of the realm of possibility, but it's not like Artisan has been putting a whole lot of effort into these releases. I think they'll be content with there one per year release. But then, I'm a cynic, so who knows.

since season three is the longest season of the series I would hope that they would release more than one dvd a year. Heck I would even settle for one every six months.
I kind of hopeing that we'll get another dvd relaesed this year. I would love to see the first 13 or so episodes of the third season to come out in november or even december, And if I can't get it this year than I would love to see it come out in january or something.
Or who knows we are all expecting for the dvds to come out only a few episodes a dvd right. Season three 47 episodes in it so maybe they will surprice us and give us half of season three and then the other half the next year, they could put out together on two discs or something. I think that would be exceptable.
I mean they have to do something to like that I think since the old TMNT was a series that had long seasons, season four has 36 episodes in it. I don't want to be thirty something when I've finnally collected the whole series of the classic TMNT.

Season 4 has 39 episodes. Anyway, they should be consistent and bring out the whole seasons, but nobody seems to know just how many episodes can be crammed on the dvd. Thy should release it as a pack of 4 dvds or something.

Honestly, I just want to hear that Artisan is actually doing it at this point. Though I would like it on stores shelves ASAP and this time some special features would be nice.

Well don't hold your breath on that spicial features thing because if they didn't do it with seaso one and two i dubt they are going to do it.
Also how well did the selling of season two do? Was it as succesful as the first season realease? Because I bet they will only make more dvds of the series if the selling was good. If not I don't see us getting any more...and that would really be a shame

Yes, especially when their missing out on the power of the "Mighty Buck". :ohwell: It's so stupid not to make them, I mean, it would be so wierd to have every other show on dvd, but not the other seasons of TMNT. :|

The reason I'm hoping for special features this time is because the first two had none. I'm assuming there probably isn't going to be any but I can hope.

Does anyone have sales figures for the First two DVD releases? I wonder if sales went up for Volume 2 or not. (I hope so, that would gurantee a 3rd set)

I've been searching and I can't find anything, If this is going to be the case, I hope it sold well, alot of the stores I wen't to didn't even have any copies left.

that could be both good or bad. Good because if the demand was so high they couldn't keep them on the shelves, or bad because the demand was so low they didn't bother order more than one shipment :(

Agreed. Vol. 1 came out a week before my 20th birthday. Vol. 2 came out the day before. At this rate, with one season a year, I won't have the entire series on DVD until my 30th birthday.

I have a feeling its closer to the latter....

And that is really odd too, if that is the case. Because the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was extremely popular back in the day. You would think that it would be selling like hot cakes but considreing the poor treatment and lack of advertisement being done to it you would think it was a cruddy one season through away 80's cartoon.
But it wasn't. It was quit phenomanal back in the day with a huge fan base. So you would think that now the fans from the first wave would be tripping over each other to get a hold of the seasons now that they are avalable to own on dvd.
It really doesn't make sence. And the only thing that I can think of, and please people don't think that I'm starting trouble or anything, is maybe the succes of the new series of the TMNT is affecting the sales of the classic series. Maybe the first wave fans are more interested in watching the current series than getting the orginal one. Please don't crusify me for saying this I was just wondering if that could be a issue.

I doubt thats' the reason,as barly anyone in the mainstream cares about the new cartoon, and most of the success is based off of the toys selling, the series gets high ratings due to the comic fanbase and animation critics who do habe interest in it, I just think someone is trying to push the present product as what is most important, and treating the original as a footnote instead of what MADE this franchise in the first place in terms of mainstream consumerism.

Well from Amazon.com and Amazon.ca, the first season sold more than the second season and the first season is higher ranked in Sales for today and yesterday than the second!
It would be a shame if they cut off production of getting the old toons to the masses but I think what they need is advertising. I know many of my friends *(who aren't TMNT crazy) would still love to own the cartoons from their childhood but don't even know that they are being released.

I'm not a fan of the picture.. Doesn't look like the turtles back in the day.
I loved Season 1's coverart, HATED season 2's... and Season three looks an awful lot like Season 2....
Oh well... I am still buying it and making sure everyone I know who watched it as a kid buys it too... We have to get sales up so they get the whole series out to us. =P

Well, I was on TMNT-L when the regular forums were down. I just decided to take break from the 'Drome and try somethin' new. The back up forums don't really do it for me and they aren't the same as the original. I found out the info from a different source but some people didn't go on the back up forums thus not gettin' the information.

I'm starting to not really care about special features, I just want the DVD's to be coming out more frequently. I seriously hope that season 3 comes out with the rest of the episodes sooner than they have been producing so far. Having to way a year at a time is a wee bit agonizing.

I think that from Volume 4 onwards, they should start having the DVDs available in 2 sorts of packaging:
1 sort for those who like their Turtles happy and colorful (similar to volume 1's packaging) and another for those who like their Turtles darker (similar to volume 2's (and volume 3's) packaging) .
