Hey, everyone, I got banned from the DC Message boards for no good reason (ONE lousy post! Wasn't even that bad, either!), so I was thinking, why not start a new thread somewhere else, since you guys are a ton cooler than those losers anyway.

And so, welcome to my OMAC party-- is anyone reading this title or any of the other lead-ins to the new Crisis from DC Comics? If so, this can be your place for discussion of it.

As for me, I'm very much a JLI fan and I feel like this may be a good opportunity for the characters from that era to make a comeback-- at least, that's where it appears to be headed (except that there's only three of those characters left).

Any fans of Booster Gold, Fire, or Guy Gardner, since they're all that's left?

I dunno, I've never really tried to start a big discussion on something like this before, I hope I'm doing it right.

Thoughts on any Infinite Crisis-related things?

So far out of all the Infinte crisis titrles, Omac project has to be my favorite.
I coulndt believe the ending to issue three, and I thought issue four was fantastic. I was able to talk to Greg Rucka at this weeks Con, He was showing me and Tim somthing interesting.

In issue 1 of Omac project, you see on the first page The blue beetle dead on the ground.
In issue 4, you see Max laying on the ground, same layout and everything.

Im also really enjoying Day of Vengence, I like that whole, our race is going to be wiped out unless we ban together and stop Spectre from destroying our kind!

Im really excited for the infinte crisis to hit stores, I cant wait to see whats going to happen!

Oh, yeah, you're right! Same room and everything! I actually haven't read any of the other titles (that could get kind of expensive, and I mainly want to just follow Booster Gold, anyway) but it's looking like it's gonna be a really interesting story.

As far as speculation goes, what does everyone here think will happen ultimately?

Personally, I'm rooting for Booster to come into his own and do something big, since he seems to know a little more of what's going on (if you noticed in Countdown, he acts overly cautious when he sees Beetle's scarab and takes the computer and the lightning bolt), but I'm worried about Fire, I think she's probably gonna be the next JLIer to go down, as the list gets longer and longer (Ice, Sue, Beetle, Max, half the Injustice League... is Kilowog alive?).

I believe Kilowog is still alive.
Ya, these titles do start to add up quite abit, I hope DC comes out with some type of collection of these.

I've pretty much just been following OMAC, mainly cause I'm a Batman fanboy. I picked up issues 1-3 of the Rann-Thangarrian War, and read one issue. It's okay, but I'm not sure I'm gonna get the rest. Besides, I can't afford to follow all the other titles, it's too expensive to keep up with all of these, plus my usual titles, and trying to catch up on what's going on in House of M. I think that because the OMAC Project deals with DC's 3 big guns, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, that this series will probably have an important role in what is the Infinite Crisis.

What did you get banned for?

What did you get banned for?

Oh, I'd better not quote myself exactly here. I made a satirical reference to all the violence, rape, and murder going on in the current DC story arcs lately-- mainly because it's not my favorite thing. It's not that I hate the stories-- they're actually quite good, or I wouldn't read it-- but in the 80s (like when Giffen did the Justice League) the comics ran more on humor to develop the characters, and no one's favorite had to die. And everyone is someone's favorite.

Anyway, some people took my sense of humor as being sick, and I was kicked out after 5 posts. That's gotta be a record, to toot my own horn.

So that's the whole, sordid affair. I think the art and writing in this series has for the most part been so good, though, that I didn't mind the deaths of Max and Blue Beetle as much. I mean, it depresses me, since they were such great characters, but I'm still looking very forward to where this will go-- its repercussions on the JLI in particular. Also, it's been hinted in Countdown that the Superbuddies were in continuity, so I would like to see that group play into this somehow.

It's gonna be fun.

The DCMB is one of the best MBs on the net, but they do tend to be a little ban crazy.

Love it, can't get enough. Infinite Crisis, and OMAC Project in particular, has me more psyched about comics than I have been in years. The four-part "Sacrifice" story in Superman and Wonder Woman knocked me for a loop.

Part of what makes this all so interesting to me is that, in my TMNT fanfics, I used a few DC characters to broaden things out a bit (particularly in my first fic), and now a bunch of the stuff I did is being affected by the Infinite Crisis storyline:

- In a bit of tongue-in-cheekness, I had the TMNT be exposed to the world, after which they hired Max Lord as their agent and became something of a joke as they were mass-merchandized into infinity.

- I had the TMNT hanging out at Guy's "Warrior's" bar a lot, even teaming up with him on a few occasions.

- SPOILER: when Leo "died" in "Legacy", I used The Spectre/Hal Jordan to help resurrect him.

Cool thing is, now I get to write a bunch of stories tying my fics into the events of Infinite Crisis. Score. =)

Ooh, Leo656, are you a JLI fan? I just really love those characters.

Also, your ideas ring a nice little bell with me-- on the crossover thread I proposed a TMNT/JLI thing.

I'm also enjoying the series, but I gotta say, I'm less-than-satisfied with the wanton killing of my heroes, here... I'm pulling for Booster and think he'll come out all right (and I'm really hoping for Fire as well-- really, it seems like their fanbase has always wanted them to get together, and now wouldn't be a terrible time for a partnership and maybe more), but I really hated Dmitri's death, which was kinda milked for what it was worth-- really, Dmitri's a character just as good forgotten. I didn't need him killed needlessly and even given the wrong Rocket Red Brigade number. Also, Guy Gardner is acting very much like just a walking flying penis in this series (although granted, his hair does give him that shape), when he's definitely been shown to be a deeper character. I don't feel like the writers care much about these characters or this era of the Justice League.

However, I read it because I like it-- I'm getting to the point where I can barely afford it but buy it anyway, and that's because I like it. It's a terrific story, and at least I'm getting to SEE my favorites (and every month, at that)! I mean, how often does that happen? Also, I like Batman a lot and I'm looking forward to him maturing a little here.

This is sorta spoiler if you havent read wonder woman 219 yet, but I was wondering if any one else noticed that maxes nose was bleeding when he told WW to kill him? Mabey she didnt do it by choice?

Whish I could take credit for that, but it was some one else who pointed it out to me.

Anybody, read I-Mockery's special feature (http://www.i-mockery.com/comics/longbox2/default.php) about the upcoming "Infinate Crisis" story? It's funny!

Are they going to have any IC build-up in the Superman & Batman series? That's the one DC comic I read regularly.

I'm loving Omac Project, can't wait for Issue 6 to see what happens. Villans United is pretty good too.

ya, I went back after posting on that just to make sure, and I relized that his nose was bleeding through out the hole issue, Im still trying to convince my friend that he didnt mind control diana when she killed him, because he has the wisdom of a god, and he still refuses to believe me...even though the proof is right in the same issue. Dont you hate when that happens!
