I was pretty young when I used to watch old tmnt, does anyone know how amny appearances the triceratons had in the old episodes? any pics? thanks!
I do believe it was just one episode. They had weird giraffe thingamabobs on their heads and fought Donatello, who was dressed up as Batman and called himself the Dark Turtle.
Night of the Dark Turtle. :)

this was a great episode from early season seven. When the series started to get a little darker before seasons 8-10 aired.
Donatello gets all psychotic and tries to kill Shredder for real in this episode. And he was actually rather convincing as well.

isn't it!!! and yet it still maintained the humour that it always had through out the series, while sprinkling on some soft-hard core elements.
I think that is why I didn't care for Red Sky that much because they eradicated the humour in it. I tottally didn't mind the darker feel that they added or the red colored sky and grey clouds, but they should have kept the humour in it. Since the humour was such a big part of the earlier series and was what made it unique and special, they needed that to balance out the the more action oreianted story plots they where handing out to us.

Yeah, I agree that the "Humor" quality was practicaly daminished, but for the final three seasons, mybe that was ok, If they would have took the more action oriented turn earlier on like season 6, yeah keep the humor, but not so silly and cheesy.

I would not have minded at all if they got rid of some of the slap stick humour in it, because even as a kid that got a little old. But they certainly could have kept the tongue-in-cheek humour that the series always contained.
And I disagree I think keeping the humour during the red sky arc would have worked even with the more action oriented plots they where given us.I think some cheeky satire could have worked out well during seasons 8-10.
