I'm currently working on several TMNT related checklists. I want to compile a master checklist for every TMNT comic book. I want to include:


Books containing a Ninja Turtle appearance.
Books containing an appearance of characters from any of the TMNT universes.
Issues with alternate cover art.


I did not bother listing all the minor Archie variations since all the cover art is the same. Some covers have bar codes or ads on them, nothing too special. Would anyone want these to be included?

If anyone sees issues I'm missing please post what they are.

So far I count over 400 issues! :o

Yeah, I'm gonna include all the one-shots, too (including the Fugitoid one). It'll be on eBay when I'm ready to sell the collection. It should be fine, because each and every issue comes in great condition, no folds, rips, stains... it should all be nice. They've been my babies, over the years, but all parents have to let go of their babies, one day. I have to get some things straightened out before I actually go about it. So be on the look-out.

Does this book have a story included? I'm not including books with just a pin up or ads in them. The only books I'd include W/O a story is if the cover art has the TMNT on it.

Hmm... I wasn't sure If I was going to add these. I guess I should since they did have a lot of comic stories.

A Gold Cover! Could you snap a photo? I've never heard of this. The Platinum variation I have is shiny and looks silver-ish.

O.K., here we go :

Concerning Cerebus #155 : No story, just a pin-up.

Concerning the Ninjara series : it's in Furrlough #47, 48 & 52; this time, I checked the table of contents, so it must be right.

Concerning the Creed/TMNT Gold cover : I'll try to take a photo of it; didn't even know that cover existed, I just found it in an old box at my local comic store with the regular Laird cover. It even came with a «certificate of authenticity» (bwah ha ha). More of those «special collector's money wasting special covers» may exist as well, since they seem to not be listed in most places.

Found out other things you may want to had :
-Back in 1990, the TMNT Cereal (yeah, young and naive ones out there, they even did that) came with goodies, and had a set of 3 mini-comics. The art seems to be Mirage-made, but I can't say for sure.
-When the new toon came out FoxBox distributed in Toys R Us stores a TMNT promo boxes which contained a mini-comic retelling the intro scene of episode 1.
-In january 1990, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency published an 8 pages pro-environment TMNT comic called Storm Drain Savers (a story republished later in TMNT meet Archie). It may still be available through their web site.
-There are some books which aren't actually comics, but contain Mirage art and/stories, like the Invasion of the Robobugs electronic storybook, with art by Lawson, or the 4 1993 novels published by Yearling, written by Murphy, art by Berger, Lawson, Brian Thomas

DWP #24 has THREE covers, here they all are, the TMNT cover is a convention exclusive, here's an email I got from DW that clears everything up:

"Thanks for picking up the book! The TMNT cover was a last minute addition and was never planned until Diamond removed the mention of TMNT even being in this issue during it's solicitation period in Previews. So to help offset the huge loss in sales (and the book really underperformed because of their mistake), Mirage allowed me to put together a cover that can be sold at conventions. Since the cover didn't exist during Diamond's inital solicitation, I couldn't include it with orders. When Newsarama picked up the article, it was literally days after the cover was approved."

Ok, I glanced at your list and found a few things...I'll through it some more later...

First, I included a scan of the front/back of my Gold Creed book

Second, Turtlemanina, as written in the inside cover, wa published by "Metropolis and Robert Wilson" in West Palm Beach Florida...

Third I belive you are missing the error cover for Volum 2 #13...i remember reading somewhere that there was an error, whcih consisted of the two covers being switched (outside front to back and vice versa)...since I have a few #13 I checked and found that I have both cover variations...I scanned them in for you to see as well...again, I'm not sure if im clear in my description, but essentially, in the error, you open the book by the back cover...and the tmnt cover is on the back...all of the text is correctly written in the inside cover, its just the actual cover themselves...

Finally, in the same reading I read fomr before that sated that there was 2 covers for Volume 2 #13, it also said there was an error in Image #9 where the INIDE covers are reversed...I checked my copies and I seem to have the corrected versions so I do not know for a fact that that error exsists, but it was correct about the previous error statement so take that how you will...

There were two issues of the 1984 Gobbledygook, not one. One issue had Splat and Beggar on the cover and the other one had Fugitoid on the cover. Later in 1986, there was a one-shot Gobbledygook which you have listed.

There is also a Mirage TMNT #4 (2nd printing) error cover. It mistakenly has the cover painting for Tales of the TMNT #1. I've heard there's a Tales of the TMNT #1 with the TMNT #4 cover but I've never seen it.

And how about Mirage Mini Comics? There was a TMNT Adventures story as one of the comics, and another one where a hippo was in love with Donatello.

If any of those are there, just call me blind.

I actually got that gold edition of the TMNT/Creed crossover.... But there is also an edition with silver-like cover... I saw it in a comic book shop in Toronto, Canada.... I think it is this one, but this may be another version :ohwell: :
