Hey, I havent really read any of the turtle comics since i was a young kid, and even than i didnt read them in order. I am considering pickin all the mirage issues up...if they arent to hard to find..But I was wondering...I dont wanna just pick up any old comic..Can you guys please give me some detailed feedback from these old issues? Basically I would just like to know If the storys have a lot of emotion, i.e. - Dealing with death, tension between brothers, Violence, etc. Does it contain a lot of this ? Could I get some detailed reviews on it ? Also what rating would u give it ?(g, pg, pg-13, R) ? ..Thanks a lot!!

Well, I do plan on selling my entire Mirage Vol. 1 collection, soon. I know another member of this board who's interested, though.

Most of Vol. 1 is a steady PG-13... The majority of violence is off-panel, there isn't a whole lot of profanity outside "damn" and "hell," maybe a little "ass."
As far as emotion and tension, the long running story archs, such as "Return to New York" and "City at War" especially are great for that (and Shades of Grey before City at War). The earlier issues are a lot of fun, with car chases and trips to outer space, but the ones where the Shredder comes back and they run away to Massachusetts are very good-- #10-#14 or 15(?) and Leonardo #1. Raphael #1 is a good story about anger.

For me the issues that are issential for me since I started collecting and wanting to know the turtles story from the begining would be 1-11, plus the 4 issues micro series, 19-21 Return to NY was one of the best in my opinion. 50-62 City at war which is the longest story arc in vol 1. Shades of grey 48,49 is also quite good which features Casey I wont spoil anything for you there; 12, 14, 15 among others are also issues I have enjoyed from vol 1.
Jim Lawson did the pencils to 51-62 by the way Eastman and Laird did #50 and to my knowledge would be the last comic they did together.
If you can find any of the old Tales of the TMNT I would grab those as they were quite good or at least the 3 that I have been able to track down.
I have most of vol 2 but have not read through it yet I have to get a few remeining issues before I want to read through it.
