View Full Version : Tales 16 and TMNT 24

Hey guys! Just got back from the local comic shop and flipped through August's previews mag. Tales and TMNT both had interesting covers, but only Tales had a decent blurb.

The TMNT cover had Mikey (I assume) battling a Triceraton/Styracon/Whatever they are in this one, and Tales had Donatello in a spacesuit fighting a tentacled being in the depths of space. The most interesting part about this was that the blurb stated it tied in with the Mutants and Monsters thing going on in the toons! Written by Murphy.

I all ready feel the new series (comics and animation) feeding into each other-- mainly stuff like Leatherhead degenerating in the comics and the SuperTurtles showing up in the toon. Anyone seen anything else?

Wasn't Leatherhead prone to his fits in the first run of the comics anyway? I was just kinda surprised that this was a specified tie in. Most of the new toons have been based on events in the comics from varying volumes, but this is the first time (I'm making an assumption here too) that a comic has been (possibly) based in the toon universe (this is just based on what i interpreted Previews was saying).

Yeah, he would have fits of rage and get angry, but he was never degenerating rapidly, he just had normal frustration and bitterness. In the recent Tales from Dan Berger, he mentioned blackouts, which was pretty specific to new series Leatherhead to that point. Except in the series it was caused by Bishop's testing, and in the comics, wasn't he slowly being poisoned? I'm not exactly sure on that.
