Here we go. Original, true TMNT were no pizza fanatics. This going to be based on that and they might Never eat Pizza. Also there wont be anu Krang or Rocksteadu or Bepop. And that is only a good thing. I really can't understand why you people want the old cartoon back. Most people Admit that they have out growned it, Me included.

True TMNT is not a childrens thing. I know that some compromises will be made, but the New cartoon will be closer to the true TMNT that the kiddies cartoon ever did.

Rocksteady, Bebop and Krang were cool. I know a 26 yr old, a 21 yr old and 20 yr old that thinks so. Maybe the characters were a bit cartoonish, and stupid, but the concept for the characters were cool.

A kickass tough, but slightly dumb Bebop & Rocksteady would be awesome in the new show.

And you can bet your ass, that in at least 3 or 4 of these new episodes, the Turtles will eat pizza. Will it be their only food, and a major plot source like the old show? No. But they will eat pizza.

As for anyone who thinks the old TNMT show was crap, too kiddie and so on.....Does the phrase go suck a lemon, mean anything to you?

I agree somewhat on both sides of this... The new show NEEDS to be different or it will get no where....as pop culture changes, so do most things. I believe it is a natural inclination to like what you first see because that is what brought you up, but you have to realize that time changes, people change, and a new generation needs to see it a different way since it is a different time... Otherwise we'd all still be watching the old black and white Mickey Mouse cartoons. I know this is hard to understand (took me a while myself I do admit) but you need to get used to it, if you watch the old tmnt now, it is really hard to enjoy it as much as you did when you were a kid or whenever you watched it...

BUT THAT GIVES NO RIGHT TO SAY THAT THE OLD TMNT SUCKS!!! :evil: :evil: It means nothing when you say it is crap now when it was airing a decade ago...otherwise every single thing would be crap, except of course there are some movies that are just timeless classics that never grow old.

I never said "THE OLD TMNT CARTOON SUCKS", I just said that it's camp, childish, and not good by today's standards or adult (or late adolescence) standards. My main beef is that people still seem to want those elements in the new cartoon. As you (sorry forgot who) stated (loosely) "times change, so should we". The truth is, the ones who are near twenties or over have not watched the show in a long time. Atleast not many episodes. I have watched almost whole series in recent months, I can judge it. Well I must say that the show was good for kids. I liked it very much as a kid too. But it is not made for older audience.

The new show, is trying to be like Batman TAS. Both older and younger people can enjoy it. Some compromises will be made of course.

It is impossible to compare the 2 series...2 completely different times, things werent as expensive either so you can't count money rake-ins, and you also can't go back in time to see how you enjoyed it and compare it now, plus at different ages you react to enjoyment differently as well....so you see it is pretty much literally impossible to compare...

So the old show wasn't great, for most of us its a chace to suspend maturity for 20 min and just be a kid again, I admit ti wasn't great but it had itrs moments, like the last season OK not great by most standards but cool if you look at it as a whole a breath of freash air with a new look.
Comparison between the New and old shows is innevitable but its to soon, wait till we get some hard fact, or at the least opinions from fans who have some how seen it. So the people working on it say its great, what do you expect them to say, its crap, no they want us to watch so they will say its good, till we have real hard proof we don't know what the finished product of the show will be like.
Yes the show should be based on the Mirage comic, well technicly so was the old cartoon and everything else turtle. The show will be a compomis of all those involved, and have to bow down to the restrictions of the network. And not to mention they still have to worry about Parents getting up in arms about the least little thing so expect it to be a little silly at times. Its still doing to be directed at kids to a degree, if it wasn't it wouldn't be on, on Saturday morning.
OK so it won't be like the old cartoon, thats not to say it won't be like it at times, perhaps not ententionaly but it may be simply due to the restriction laid down. And you never know they may do like MOTU and do little tributes to the old show, nothing big maybe a little word here or there as a show of respcet to the fan who came on that why.
Look its a few months till we see the show and their no point in arguing over what it will bw like till we know more

Ok i am 16..TMNT was MY FAVORITE cartoon EVER..even tho it started when i was born, so iwhat, i began watching it at like 4 or sumthing and loved it, bought all the vhs, toys and such, it was MY FAVORTIE, i have most o the episodes downloaded

by today standards it isn't great, bt the cartoon is ALMOST like a legend, a classic, THIS is what made TMNT popular, and then lead people to the comic book

heck cartoons ARE MEANT for kids (besides some japanese and some movies) they are meant for kids to enjoy because of the vibrant colors and visuals that are appealing to a childs mind

i am sorry but no matter what the old TMNT will forever be in my mind as one of the best cartoon's america has to offer and the new one will never change that...granted the new TMNT has a ton to live up to, i am sure it will be great, but to me the old one will always be great!!! :wink: :D :)

The fact is that if you watched the whole old series now, you would orobably find that it is made for kids, not for older people.

Altough there are somethings that were good in the old series, There's no point to recreate it. And it won't ever happen so if you want Rocksteady and Bebop, start writing fanfics.

This new cartoon is made for kids. It's made to get kids' arses into chairs and watch, and then to get them to run to mommy and daddy to beg for toys about the show they just watched.

Even though Be-bop and Rocksteady used to be quite entertaining, I wont grieve their leave. Neither will I miss Krang.
