Those who believe our beloved Turtles are going off the air, fat chance. The CEO of 4kids himself says that the franchise is bringing in mucho dinero. Read on.

With more than $1 billion in total retail sales since re-launching in 2003, the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES are a major force in children’s entertainment. The all-new TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES animated TV series is in its fourth season, airing on 4Kids TV™ on Saturday mornings on FOX, as well as Saturdays and Sundays on Cartoon Network. The Turtles have enjoyed tremendous success in both television and at retail, which is expected to be bolstered by an upcoming full-length CG-animated feature film from The Weinstein Co. and Warner Bros. Pictures. The much-anticipated movie is currently in production at Imagi Animation Studios’ state-of-the-art facility in Hong Kong, and slated for a 2007 theatrical release.

Straight from the horses mouth. (http://www.ninjaturtles.com/)

This is good news indeed. It really does appear that the suits are behind this project. Laird has confirmed a 6th season, so it looks like we'll have TMNT at least through 2008.

I really hope the movie does well and demonstrates to the world that this franchise is more than pizza and surfer talk.

Should we open a thread for the CG movie coming out? I don't know the rules on all that...

All I have to say is "Why not reward those who are feuling this $1 billion chunck of the 4Kids caufers by giving us quality TMNT DVD releases?"

This is great news, Hopefully the show will last a few more seasons, It will be just like in the old days of the original series, That had so many seasons, Hopefully the same happens for this one.

Indeed....that's the best part, as a major player TMNT gets to keep running...I just hope they don't do a silly psudo-spinoff....where it's the same show with new main characters ala Pokemon (Yuck) and Yu-gi-oh! (yuckier!)

SORRY ABOUT THIS, NO OFFENSE BUT I REALLY THINK THIS NEEDS TO BE PUT ON BLAST. I HAVEN'T SEEN ANYONE MAKE A BIG DEAL OF THIS YET:

PETER LAIRD HAS CONFIRMED PREPRODUCTION ON SEASON 6 IN TMNT VOLUME #4 ISSUE #24. HE STATES THAT THE TURTLES WILL GO IN A NEW DIRECTION FOR SEASONS 5 AND 6.

INCREDIBLE NEWS. I'M SO EXCITED. I DREAD THE DAY I WAKE TO NO TMNT ON SATURDAY MOURNINGS. BUT I DONT HAVE TO LOOK FORWARD TO THIS FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER 2 YEARS, THATS 104 SATURDAYS!!

Could Be. But Do You Really Think They'll Wait That Long To Do That? Being They Are Already Promoting This Stage.

With WB's turtle movie comming out maybe the show will get another good time slot on Cartoon Network. It would be a smart tie in for the movie.
