I dunno about you guys, but if it were up to me I'd want the new movie to be as dark as the old comics...of course thats not possible. They are saying that it will be gritty like them, but I have to admit I question how gritty they can make a movie with a pg rating. Either way I'm sure it will be good though. Any thoughts?

Well, the old movie was pretty gritty in PG. And, I agree that "Dark like the comics" is the way to go. I just wish they'd do the "all red masks" thing to give the full mirage effect.

All red masks aren't good for marketing...:p

screw the all red bandanna's! I like the turtles with their colored head bands.

I'm going into this move thing with an open mind and not expecting this move to be to much grittier than the new toon. If I have to much expectations for the movie to be mirage dark than I know I'm going to be dissapointed. ANd if it is mirige gritty, well then it will be a pleasant surprice and will hieghten my viewing pleasure.

I agree, I'll just wait to see it and if it's good.. it's good
if it's bad well it's bad then

It should be a PG-13 or an R rating for full Mirage effect... plus more grit. I can't wait for the movie to come out. Even if it's not as good as it should be, the TMNT still would've made it to the big screen again.

I think Mirage is the reason that the 2004/05 remake of the TMNT series tanked

a lotta ppl liked the original better!

Yea, woulda been great with a more mirage-ish movie... And i would like to see them using their weapons on something different than slicing steam pipes and knocking people unconcious.

All in all I think the new movie will be something else than a complete failure.

I think what they really need to not do is call it TMNT4. Having a number in the title will probably scare people off, because that's like the scariness of a sequel squared. A subtitle would be nice...

I like Mirage grittiness, but I'm not a fan of movie gore. PG-13 would be better, but so long as it's on the high end of PG I'll probably be happy.

Uh, I don;t think 4 seasons (plus two more in development), billions made in merchindise, a new movie on the way, 4 video games, and an appearence in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade qualifies it as "tanked". The new series rules.

Anyway, I expect this new movie to be good. I never actually expected this movie to be rated PG(what with the TMNT be thought of by some people as kiddie, thanks alot 1987 series). But I do think this move will still be good enough for the younger veiwers, yet dark enough for the real TMNT fans. The first movie pulled it off. I'm so glad Peter Laird will be working closely with this new movie.

Yeah, since when did it tank?

Anyway, I hope they can do the semi-sequel thing right!

That movie would be rated PG-13 by todays standards.

More like "G".

The standards have gotten less strict, not more.
