Re-hash characters *Almost as bad as stock footage*

Watch "Turtles In Space" mainly part 3. Then watch "Across the Universe". Look up in the tower where all the people watching the race are. Regonize anyone? Also if you watch part 2 of "Turtles In Space" and then watch "Battle Nexus" You might regonize the guy who hits on Mikey standing around in the food court area. And lastly if you watch "The King" and then watch "Battle Nexus" You might notice some of the monsters fighting. One is so obvious you can't miss since he makes it to the finials.

Now I don't know if their too lazy to desgin new characters or what their problem is but that kinda bothers me -_-

It's probably that they don't wanna make model sheets for new characters...it's just easier to use exicting characters who've already been modeled...*shrugs*

I noticed those... and personally, I like it! It makes those previous episodes less like one-shots and ties the universe together. Especially Kirby's monster being in the Battle Nexus.

The only way I would get annoyed is if they reused the animation entirely. Even if it's an already-designed character it takes the same amount of work to animate. Luckily you don't get too much reused stuff in this show. Here and there, yeah... but not often.

Yeah, I do like the idea of Kirby's monsters participating in the Nexus tournament. Certainly gives you a glimpse of the Daimyo's power if he can even get around to universe that are a little... unnatural in their creation.

Though I doubt it would happen (for many reasons), it could always lead to Don and Kirby reuniting at the Nexus or something. Seeing Kirby be the Mickey to one of his creation's Rocky Balboa would be amusing. :lol:

As far as reused animation... as long as it doesn't get as bad as the 90s Spider-Man toon all is good. You know something is wrong that when the Lizard and Spider-Man are fighting in a high-tech lab but when the Lizard swings his tail to tear down a wall it's a clip from a fight in the sewers. :-?

*nods* I hated how they kept on reusing every single clip for whenever someone spoke or when spidey was swinging through the city. Oi... *rubs temples*

I've noticed a few background characters re-seen in different episodes. I don't really care...unless you see them every single episode. That would be a different story, so let's not go there :| Like Mask said, I would only be peeved off if they kept on reusing the animation. Nothing gets more annoying than anything than reused animation. But like I said earlier, I don't really care about the background characters. As long as the episode is exiting, the animation is fluid, the voice delivery is clear and the characters (main and otherwise) look good, then all I care about is getting that episode on DVD ;)

Eh... Some of the fight scenes between the same people/creatures have been rehashed. One such instance is when Mikey is fighting some of the foot. There's a still shot where mikey is standing amidst a group of foot whose ass he has just kicked. They used it once during Shredder Strikes (I think) and again during Shredder Strikes back and/or Return to New York. Plus, one of the group shots of all of them on the attack in the Turtles in Space line was used again in the Secret Origins eps too... You have to look to remember... cause I can't just pluck the eps out of my head.

i remember on batman i think there was a background character that always appeared. fans kept noticing and eventually he got a name.

It makes no sense to me because the universe it's from is one created by Kirby and I see no way it could be acknowlaged by the Battle Nexus.

Well, Usagi and Gen are from different dimensions also... so in terms of that, it makes perfect sense. Perhaps what Kirby drew created a world in an existing dimension, or a new dimension altogether. But since the Battle Nexus appears to unite warriors from across all dimensions, I'm not having a problem with it.

As to how they know about the tournament? Perhaps when a new dimension and/or population comes into existence, an ambassador of some sort is sent to notify the inhabitants of the competition. I don't see why they'd have any less of a "right" to know about and participate in the tournament just because they came into existence only a year (or however long) before. Even if it happened by "artificial" means.

I personally don't believe the show goes that deep, though I would like to. Plus all the monsters in Kirby's world were trapped and I doubt he let them free just to compete. Maybe I look into things to much. Sometimes it's fun.

EDIT because I thought of something else:
I don't think it's really meant to be "deep" as you call it... but I can easily see the writers going "OK, we have a multiverse-wide fighting competition. The Turtles are gonna be there, and so are Usagi and Gen... let's throw in Traximus as well to update us on how things are with the Republic... and wouldn't it be great to toss in one of Kirby's monsters and see if anyone notices?"

Though you are right, their designs were altered to stop them from slaughtering the local town. Perhaps they got out on good behavior? :P I suppose that might be going a bit too deep. :thyper:

I don't think that they will bring back Kirby because the episode was nothing more than a symbollic sort of ode to Jack Kirby.


The only reused animation that bothered me was some fighting from The Shredder Strikes Part Two was reused in one of the City At War episodes when they were fighting on top of that building.

Well, the good thing about this show is, even in those few instances where they re-use animations, you don't really notice it much, cause your so sucked into the story.

And as for one of Kirby's creatures in the Battle Nexus, whats wrong with that. The Damiyo's warstaf can open portals to all dimensions, so I'm pretty sure it can open one into one Krby created.

And like someone mentioned before, it's not nearly as bad as the 90's Spider-Man series. Which re-hashed animations on an effin daily basis.
