Should SAINW hae been longer?

Do you think that same as it never was should have been a 2 parter. Maybe if it was longer we could have had flashbacks, that show how Casey and Splinter died, how Mikey lost his arm, and how Raph lost his eye. Also, it could have had more battles. That would have been awesome wouldn't it?


Oh and, was Leo really blind? Because it seemed to me he could see just fine.

SAINW was definitely a good episode and very talked about long after its airing, but I dunno if it really needed to be lengthened any more at the time. It was part of a story arch. If it was too long then it wouldn't feel as though the real plot (Draco/ ultimate ninja return) was important anymore.
Personally I would like some elaboration and I did think maybe they could have had the guys all say something about their experiences after it all wrapped up. Donny could have told an extended version that we would see. It bothered me that nothing was said about it after the fact. I would have been tramatized. :sick:

it is an amazing episode one of the best in tmnt history...but I don't think it needs to be longer....I just watched it again lastnight before i went to bed....
I've watched it a bunch of times and never realized all the scars the guys have on them....I have no idea how I missed that before.
but I must agree I would have liked the guys to share what they saw with each other...everyone is kind of just acting like things never happend...they tend to do that allot on this show....
the other thing I thought about lastnight was shredders army in the episode..
was it utroms, aliens, human (foot), or robots?
and what happend to chaplin he built those Karai robots but he wasnt in the episode or even mentioned...come to think of it where the heck is the guys now...we havn't seen him all season....I wonder if he is working for Karai?

Those foot were most likley human.

As for Chaplin, I think maybe he's still in prision. I think Karai may be focusing less on technology and more on training the foot.

A little mystery can be a good thing. Like it's probably more horrible to wonder what could have darkened Mikey's personality than to actually know. And personally I don't want to see Raph lose an eye! Life has a lot of unanswered questions, and I think it's ok for the fiction to reflect that.

I dunna....I always assumed Leo was a guardian. he had one katana, wore a long cloak, and the shades. That and the whole guardian thing is the family buisness and may have been a forshadowing of the TMNT's stepping up to the task Yoshi asks Splinter to undertake: Taking on Shredder once and for all.

As for Chaplin...I dunna...I haven't a clue where he was but it wasn't jail. SaiNW happened in an alternate future. Leo and Karai's relationship doesn't seem to be shaped by the events of "Exodus". So if he was in jail it wasn't for his "crimes" in the Exodus season ender.

Another no show that really supprised me was the fact the Bishop was AWOL. He's a major villian, but where was he in SaiNW?

yes I'm sure of Leo Being a Guardian as well watch the episode Utroms are all over the episode....shredder has enslaved them all and they now worked for him.....they build a giant transmat which had just been finished in the episode......and obviously the Guardians including leonardo failed.

Ok, so it's my memory failing me.

But if the Utroms are all enslaved, wouldn't the guardians become obsolete? I mean what would Leo do apart from wearing a trenchcoat and shades to be called a guardian? Maybe he was an ex-guardian, since there is no one left to be guarded? :D

yes but leonardo is honnor bound so he would help till the end....I would like to know what he was up to...like you say since he had no one to guard...but maybe he was guarding utroms and trying to save them....we never will know because it was told to us.

Just watched the episode again and I didn't see a single hint of Leo being blind. On the contrary, he turns his head towards the person he's speaking to and it appears to me that he can see just fine.

Side note - funny thing how Raph's good eye changes through the episode - in the beginning it's the right, later it's the left, then again the right :lol:

Why is this episode the most talked about? If you look at it closely it's actually a pretty awful episode. They all die rather quickly and their death makes no sense what so ever. Those blows would not have killed Raph or Leo. And Karai would have no body if she got blasted in the chest with a bazooka round at point blank range. Instead she gets up and says "I am finished" then she dies -_- Don't get me wrong I like this episode still but it's all you guys ever talk about. It's not the darkest episode and it's not the best episode. It was too rushed, and had it been a two parter it might have been better but that still wouldn't fix the problems I have with it.

Because we get to see different turtles I guess ;) Because we peep into the possible life of the Adult Mutant Ninja Turtles. Because everything is so different. Because Splinter is dead, because Leo and Raph can't stand each other, because Shredder won.

I agree that many things don't make sense in this episode, but still, it remains one of my favorites. I'd love to see more of that :)

Exacty my thoughts. Plus, Leo and Mikey obviously seemed to wait for being slashed by their enemies. Mikey was barely surrounded by Karai legions in the beginning, yet he didn't bother to jump or sneak out. And his legs weren't crippled or something :sweatdro:

It's a great episode because, it is the darkest. They show stuff on this episode that other shows on Saturday mornings couldn't get away with. Plus it really shows how important each turtle is to the team(epescially Donny).

As for the no blood, and Leo and Raph's deaths. Well, you gotta remeber, the episode was dark enough, if it added blood and gore, well, it's on a block called 4 Kids TV, that kind of thing would probably get it canned.

How could he, he was surronded by robots bigger than he was, they probably would have slashed him down if he tried.

I'Monster and "The Darkness With-in" Were darker in my opinion. Death doesn't make things dark. But those episodes had a nice grim setting. I'Monster espcially. And The Darkness With-in showed Leo stabbing Splinter, Angel dieing, and lots of betrayal.

*nods* Yes, darkness withen is most likely one of the best episodes I have ever seen. Now that you pointed out how incorrect SAINW was, you have to admit it isn't as flawless as people state it. I love it though, but just not as much as I once loved it

I especially loved Darkness Withen because it seemed quite grown up with me. Like Spitfire pointed out, it's grimer, betrayal, Leo killing Splinter, and (I think that sealed the deal), the ending with the old guy (heh, forgot his name) and the guy in the phone booth. It just goes to prove that it might look like you have won, but really what you destroied will probably respawn and regrow again

The reason I like it so much is cause it's got the future TMNT and you all know that I love to see the future TMNT.
