Has anyone ever read The Call of Cthulhu by HP Lovecraft? If you havn't I suggest you do and then watch this episode again. You might find some stuff that's similar! Espcially the monster in the cave and some of the story. Has anyone read the book and did you notice anything similar to this episode? I read it kinda quickly, so I didnt soak in much but the episode reminded me of the book.
Well, I havn't read the book, what you just pointed out just made Darkness Withen....well.....darker :o Shocking. Most likely the writers had read that book before thinking off the episode. That's it *looks about for a piece of paper to write down "The Call of Cthulhu" so that she can look for it later*

The episode was meant to remind you of the H.P. Lovecraft books - the entire episode was an homage to them. The guy's name in the episode was C F Opvelhart or something like that - an anagram of H.P. Lovecraft.
