After watching TMNT: The Movie, I wondered about something: How did "Dan" Pennington know where the TMNT's lair was? Now before you all go "duh!" hear me out. There are 3 options: 1. He was in fact the Foot who followed Raph home after April's mugging. 2. He could be a Foot lacky who was sent back to the den to capture Splinter. 3. He could just have heard it through the grape vine. I know that alot of fans will probably go to number one, but I have a small problem, Danny knew April, could he really jump her? He did steal from her, but could he actually aid in a mugging? I guess he did give them all up when they were staying in the 2nd Time Around. I dunna really. Thoughts?
Since he was a follower of the Foot Clan, they could've just told him after they kidnapped Splinter.
Also, he did get closer with Splinter when he was abducted. But, I doubt that Splinter would risk telling a stranger their address.:P
Or, he just found it by pure, dumb luck. He did run away from his father. Maybe he just decided to hide out in the sewers to not give any leads to his whereabouts and discovered the Turtle Lair.

That's true, but I wonder if the TMNT knew something about Danny's association with the Foot. They were awake and awating the Foot. Maybe with Danny missing they knew something was up. I mean, who but the Foot and them knew of the location of their den? UI'm just wondering if the kid was actually a Foot Soldier, he did have the Dragon head band.

I don't think that he was the one to actually kipnap Splinter, because when he saw him when he was in the Foot's headquarters chained to the fence, it seemed like that was the first time he had seen it, and was caustious and curious to approach him, kinda.
Also, I don't know if he was the Foot to find the lair anyways, because I don't know if he had been upgraded to that rank in the Foot yet. But I guess the arguement in that would be how he knew where the lair was in the first place. But also, it never shows him in the dogi or anything to link the viewer's mind to the fact that he was that rank.

I'll go for this explanation.

Danny: What ever happened to this Oroku Saki?
Splinter: No one really knows, but you wear his symbol upon his brow.
(Danny removes his red bandana, and lets it drop to the floor)
But that's not the "Dragon dogi" that's just the bandana, right? I mean the kid that Shredder "knights" before Danny tells Shredder that the TMNT are staying with April already has the bandana, so is the dogi the black hood?
Don't worry about the bandana. It's just a symbol of association.
Dogi is the uniform. But the meaning behind it is much bigger.
'Do' is 'the way' and 'gi' is the uniform itself. So, when a person puts it on, they become accepted and perpetually commits to the way of the Foot.
As for the Dragon, blame Tatsu. He probably designed the uniform.:P

Danny is referred to as the boy who found the Turtles because he wittnessed Mike underneath the table, thus leading the Foot to April's appartment. I think, though, that he found the lair because someone told him. He couldn't be the foot that followed Raph because of these reasons:
In the beginning of the movie, when he snatches the guys wallet, he is not in a suit. He's his normal self. Though he does pass it off to a Dogi wearing Foot Ninja. Plus... He's not very ninja-esque. He never shows that he has a ninja ass-kicking style. Especially when he cries "Don't Shoot!" in the lair.
I originally thought he got the bandana because he told where the turtles were. Thinking back, nevermind, I guess he did have it before hand.
I think that because he helped find them at April's Appartment, they let him know where their lair was in the event that if they came back, he would also tell them that.

none of the above. he's just a peeon character like keno. He doesn't really have much of a role. He didn't do anything heroic. He was there to be the character kids would identify with. that's all.
