I hope the facial mask won't stay/is a shadow, because this looks absolutely atrocious. I mean, who's going to like that thing?

But they had to do something with Kyle when they brought back John Stewart (Thank you, JLAnimated), Guy Gardner and Hal Jordan. The return of the latter was probably DC's biggest mistake since Jean Paul Valley/Batman. I mean, now they have four Lanterns for one sector, whereas per definition there should be but one. Sure, one's in outer space getting new GLs for the GL-corps, but they can't do that forever... Crud.

So, he's called Ion now? Permanently? I remember him reverting to GL-stage when he got that dog-collar-outfit.

Yeah, Kyle Rayner hat a short period of him calling himself Ion. He had these really wicked powers then (like being in twothousand places at the same time) and he had a reall neat costume. After that, he went to his dog-collar-outfit which wasn't cool at all.

...Kyle’s life went through another series of major changes shortly thereafter. Kyle and Jade, who had fought and split up, reconciled. He received a new regular art job, doing a strip for Feast Magazine. With the job came a new assistant, Terry Berg, a young homosexual boy who Kyle helped come to terms with his sexuality. And he received a new foe, Nero. Alex Nero was given the yellow energy power, previously wielded by Sinestro and Guy Gardner, by the Weaponers of Qward. Nero, a madman with an amazing imagination, countered Kyle’s ring creations with monsters of his own.

Kyle did find a way to defeat Nero, and then he slowly came to a realization; he had grown far more powerful then any Green Lantern. He had slowly been collecting all the power let free when Hal Jordan died, and he was now a God-like being. He took a new costume and hero identity: Ion. Kyle began doing more work, splitting himself into numerous forms and working universe wide, trying to create a utopia. Kyle needed to come to terms with his new powers, and sought out his long errant father. The two got to know each other, and Kyle decided it was time to be Green Lantern again. He used his power to resurrect Oa and the Guardians, leaving Ganthet to raise the now child Guardians and make them more in touch with the people they would protect...

I liked that costume, and I almost got the neat T-shirt to go with it.

and anarky. there are now 2 GLs per sector. john stewart and hal jordan are the GLs of sector 2814. so instead of having only 3600 GLs. there will now be 7200 GLs.
If you look closely at his chest on the new costume. you can see the CPB... and Doom. he will no longer be using a ring.

He doesn't need a mouth or nose opening, the whole costume is infact GL-energy (or at least it was GL-energy) and it lets through air, because it keeps the hero alive.

yeah, his energy shield he wears around his body has oxygen in it. he could look like he has a brick wrapped around his head and he could still breath..

I have also now read that this image is not the final image. so it could look a little different.

Yeah jade was bad ass. i dont get how her powers were actually his, i read that story arc. and kyle even said that he unlocked the powers that were still there. i guess he was lying.

lol. he can still mack a skirt. he just removes the energy thats wrapped around him. the GL suit has always been made of energy. if anything you should be happy for the change to ion. with everything ron marz has said..
