Allright, I must set aside my opinions about how pissed I am at Microsoft for pucking up the 360 launch for now. It is time to rejoice. My friends, the great one has finally come.

Street Fighter II Championship Edition (my personal favorite version) is comming to Xbox Live with a Streamlined virtual arcade mode, and Global and National Leaderboards, along with all standard voice chat features. There will be in total the same amount of online modes as DOA4 (I forget the details). It is a good day my brethern. Within a couple of months, we can be beating the living crap out of each other oldskool style. Get out your Arcade sticks, renew your Live subscription and get ready because I am BRINGING ON THE PWNAGE!!!!!

I call you all out. Get those calaces back on your thumbs and fingers because it is time to kick some ass hardcore style. I am bringing home the Shoryuken baby.

Btw GK, I know you're an original Street Fighter Legend. I'm calling you out. :D :D

See, now I'm tempted to get a 360.

But only when they drop to sub-$300 for the *actual* system. None of that core crap.

The entire fun of Street Fighter 2 was playing the game, talking trash to the person next to you that you were playing against, and looking them in the eye while doing so...all at the same time.

Unless the big M comes out with some sort of streamlined Picture-in-picture video chat thing to be integrated with this, it wouldn't simulate the awesome arcade experiences.

That's just my take.

How interesting. I just wrote an entire editorial on that whole arcade eperience concept and a way they can bring it into the home. Should be up soon. Completely covers that entire point.

There is no date set yet, just says Q1 2006, I wonder how many Microsoft Points that will cost.

Probably the same amount as MK3. Which I still don't know the price of. I guess 300 to maybe as much as 500, which would be a lot. Either way fighting games are teh suk.

Its all about Texas Hold Em with camera functionality. Nothing like being bored and showing people how bored you really are.

, that would be hucking falarious. MK3 is for sale on there?

They'd better hurry. There's only so much life left in Q12006. I also read on Gamespot that they are having framerate problems with the game. Seriously, how bad at coding do you have to be to actually manage to fu*k up a 10Mhz Arcade game's framerate on the Xbox 360? Really Capcom, I know you suck, but com'on.

Necro post, but what the hell. Better than a new thread. Lookie lookie...

A Microsoft employee recently e-mailed Kotaku the inside dirt on some upcoming XBox 360 releases. Among other things the mole said, “Right now a lot of work is being done of Street Fight 2 [sic] because the lag is very bad and they are having trouble getting it playable online.”

This would certainly explain the delay from early march to “Q2 2006″ earlier reported by Gamespot. Given Capcom’s track record on online play, I’m not holding out much hope for this one.

Yeah, Street Fighter has been stabbed one too many times. Those bastards are so bad now that they can't even get Street Fu*king Fighter II, a 1991 Arcade game, to run online with no/little lag. Honestly, I give up and retire. They're never going to do anything worth having with the series apprently, and if they did, they're studios are too stupid to program it. There goes another reason to own a 360. Honestly, if Oblivion wasn't out, I wouldn't still be trying to find one around here.

I hope Capcom gets bought out by someone who can take Street Fighter and do something worthy with it. Don't merge with Konami. That would just taint them.
