Now, I haven't made a fanfic however I spent high school writing a novel inspired by TMNT (the 1st movie, new show, comics, a little of the old show)...especially in terms of the realism, the strong characterization, and the family atmosphere. Now that I'm out of college I've put the sequal on hold and I'm currently editing the original and adding 150 pages or so because I'm at the point where I want to publish it. I'm not super egotistical about my work, but damn I've read a lot of published genre fiction that's been crap so if they can get published I shouldn't have too much of a problem ;) I'd actually looove to look into Mirage publishing it, since TMNT really is the closest 'genre'...it's not really fantasy, nor sci-fi...but it's *something* distinct. It could be called X-menish, but ONLY by the standard of the realism of the movies.

Anyway, I'm looking for people interested in the genre to give it a read and let me know what they think...from overall impressions, to specific suggestions in all areas from spelling corrections to continiuty and character development. I've got one person doing this for me already, but THE MORE THE BETTER! I finish editing a chapter or so a week so that's about how fast they'd be coming at ya and I have the prologue through chapter 3 already set, probably 4 by this weekend.

As an overview of the story.... a girl takes sick and it turns out that her genes are defective because they send orders to create cells which can't correctly reproduce and as a result, her body starts to atrophy. A company is created to deal with this and other cases: GAMA. Of course, not everyone in GAMA has noble intentions and a few of their experiments escape. Some die, some become the Resistance.
This isn't a powergaming story, a lot of the characters have genetic alterations which result in a 'power' that can do them as much harm as good... Nighthawk was blind and given sight...sight so strong that he's painfully blinded by daylight. Force can affect gravity...but... is terminally stuck in Mikey-land of pillowfighting and popcorn throwing. Dove doesn't have a power...she's just too nice for her own good. Hand's the ex-bodybuilder, "Peargate" computer programmer.

Any help would be appreciated (:

So, do I understand well that there are no TMNT-related stuff in your story, right?

So, how it is inspired by TMNT? The idea of mutation and metamorphose?

inspired by TMNT . . . especially in terms of the realism, the strong characterization, and the family atmosphere.

;)

Additionally, I consider it inspired by TMNT because of the dynamics between the characters. There's the Mikey-esq joker getting on the nerves of the Raph-esq Nighthawk, there's the computer guy (Hand) although his personality is nothing like Don's I think. I don't think there's anyone in there who is Leo-like at all, maybe Jack...he's a joker like Force but MUCH more quickly will snap into serious mode. He also works at GAMA heh. Dove and Cerebellum kind of combine to form the Splinter-mentor character. Cerebellum lives in Brazil and the others are in Arizona so although she's the more 'knowing' one, she's also the less available one ;p
