Let me just tell you that even though I'm only a quarter of the way through, I had to stop to tell you guys that this script is NOTHING like the movie was. Yes, there are scenes that appeared, but MAJOR, MAJOR, MAJOR moving around was done to the script.
To name a few:
Professor Jordan Perry's original name was Kirby Miller, paying omage to Jack Kirby and Frank Miller.
The movie was to open with the two professors finding the dandelions. Prof. Miller makes the suggestion of finding the "... Most visible reporter in New York." Then goes to the best way to hide scenario he does in the movie.
Keno doesn't appear until Page 14 Scene 22. There, he acts kinda cocky after nicely slicing a pizza for a hot girl.
April brings home a folder on T.C.R.I. the night before the interview. Splinter finds the folder and it disturbs him.
Shredder is actually supposed to be seen rising completely out of the garbage with only his shadowed body being seen in the foreground of a NYC background. He looks at the city and clinches his fist, shaking it with anger. He also apparently has a bad left hand in this draft.
I will scan some pages tomorrow. Sorry to make a new thread, but I think this so totally deserves it because this is too good to be true. I'm only on page 23 (the interview just started with Prof. Miller {Perry}.)

So what can you tell us about the age-demographic for the second draft of TMNT 2?
Is it considerably darker than the final product (which was aimmed directly at the youngens)?

So far, age wise, it reads almost the same as the first script. I don't know about further on. I do know that they all used their weapons at the beginning of the mall fight (which has a considerably different opening). Then Leo mentions the line about being a True Ninja of Himself and his Enviornment and then tells his brothers to stow their weapons. Let me get about halfway through it and it might change, right now though shows that it's targeting a younger audience than the first.
I will say however, that the way Professor Miller acts, he may actually have been written as an Utrom... proving the rumors true. However... I have yet to find that out.

kinda makes you wonder why they changed it to TGRI. here's a pic of an all-aluminum pre-production canister that i might be picking up soon, part of a BIG lot of screen-used/production-used TMNT 2 props...

I want a deal, dude, HIT ME UP WITH THE LINK TO BUY that stuff. I seriously have been looking for some production things from TMNT movies. I found a lifesize animatronic splinter for $18,000. (Yes, it's the same one USED in the movie TMNT 3.)
Okay, I've been reading, but as soon as I figure out where I got the script (I threw the packaging away and the trash has already been taken out) I will definately hook all of you up with a link so you can get your own. But I beg of you, PLEASE hook me up with the link to that site where they're selling the stuff.

the production materials aren't on a site. it's a private transaction. i've purchased two TGRI canisters from the guy already. if all goes to plan, i'll have a few canisters for sale from the lot. the TMNT3 splinter you saw actually sold for MUCH less that $18K, as well as the TMNT3 don, which was originally listed at $25K on starwares.com. both were in HORRIBLE condition... gotta love preserving foam latex. i believe the buyer of the don suit ended up parting it out. there's currently an "almost complete" raph TMNT 3 suit on ebay for $3,200. cheap, but hey... it's from TMNT3. such a shame that none of the henson suits ever come up for sale.
what is the date on your script? is it second draft, or second draft revised? i've had a link bookmarked for a second draft revised copy for about a year... just never got around to ordering it. do you have any leads on the original bob herbeck treatment for the first film?

I have the second revision date July 9, 1990. The final draft date reads: July 26, 1990 with revisions on August 13 and August 15. This definately reads like an earlier version because everything is out of whack and there are SO many differences than in the movie and finished draft. However, Professor Miller has met the turtles and hasn't shown himself to be an Utrom, so that may be a first draft thing. I may have to e-mail the site to get them.
Could you hook me up with the guy's e-mail so I can partake in the buying. I'm definately wanting to get some of the movie merch and I've been looking everywhere for it, but I need to find it. Let him know for me, please, that I'm definately interested and I would like to purchase some items if he's willing.

ok... looks like you got your script from the site i've had bookmarked for a while. bookcity.net. from what i remember, they don't have ANY TMNT first drafts. might be worth a shot, though.
if memory serves, the prof./utrom reveal happens at the end of the script, after the "female rapper", originally set to be ya kid k, does her thing in the nightclub.
i'm planning on purchasing the rest of said seller's TMNT 2 lot. if all goes to plan, he won't have anything left to sell. like i said, i'm sure i'll be wanting to get rid of a few extra canisters, if the deal goes through. if the deal doesn't go through, or i end up not buying him out completely, i'll gladly pass along his email address.
in the meantime, check your PM. i have an original TMNT 2 pre-production item i would be willing to sell, if the price was right.

Search through the movie scripts. You'll find it in the T's, obviously.
I finished it finally. Funny thing, no Utrom. However, the ending takes place almost like the movie. Keno falls for the Rapper who was a girl before Vanilla Ice. There was a battle with SuperShredder just like in the final draft.
The turtles actually get on top of anothers shoulders to Slingshot the ice cubes down the mutant's throats. Then they belch. The turtles also have to deal with the Foot and Tokka and Rahzar in the club together, not seperately like the film.
