Set to go head to head with the new Ninja Turtles series in February...
Power Rangers Ninja Storm.
Yes the Power Rangers will go all Ninja style in early 2003 as part of the shows record breaking 11th series. :o
Anyway there will be 3 rangers called the wind rangers (the good ninjas - Red, Blue and Yellow) who battle the 2 thunder rangers (the evil Ninjas - Navy, and Crimson Thunder) for control of the Ninja Storm powers. All aided, quite suspiciously by their sensei who was once a human turned into a hamster (now where could that have got an idea like that ?).
So Ninja Turtles vs. the Ninja Storm Power Rangers in the battle for ratings. Who will win.....

Ewwww power rangers!With a ninja theme! :(
Well, i hope the ninja turtles win, but actually i don't care about ratings...no one should, except for tv business people that get the money because of them :P

Well you should care a bit for the ratings since if they are bad the show will end up being cancelled.
Hopefully both Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers will do well, but with both using the Ninja theme is seems more like they will be in direct competition meaning one of them may end up going down but I hope that doesn't happen.

Hmmmm...well there were some rumors about the old cartoon being cancelled because of power rangers...if that's true, then i hope that doesn't happens again :tgrumble:
o.O Okay, I'll admit it, unless both shows are going to be playing at the exact same time, I'm going to watch at least the first episode of Ninja Storm. Yes, I watch Power Rangers. *bows down before the TMNT Gods* Please forgive me! I only do it to laugh and ridicule them!

well we're finally back to season 3 PR in more ways than one. Yes I'm a PR fan. For those who don't know season 3 was the first PR Movie, and the Ninja Power baser MMPR. The season also introduce Ninjor, and I was looking for TMNT toys at at TRU yesterday, saw the box for the PR zords, picked it up to look at and on the side was a red Ninjor toy, will he return in this show with a new Paint scheme? I hope so, need a conection to MMPR. Anyway a lot of reports say this will be the finnally season for PR, but I think they said the same for Wild Force. In the end its the only good show disney is doing on sat anymore

As a student of ninjutsu, I find this PR thing very insulting....

If i were a student of ninjitsu, i'd also find a show about some guys jumping and fliping out around in spandex suits for 20 minutes and then jumping into a robot or whatever very insulting too :P
Mmm...spandex... :P :P :P
Maybe i'll watch an episode or two of it, afterall they're gonna make the PR ninjas, so the fights might get a bit more interesting, but i doubt it...only season i liked was the first one, the rest i couldn't stand em, and i bet this will be no exception :ohwell:

Actually Power Rangers is very good. I don't know if it's intentional but it has a lot of camp humour. It' real fun to watch it with a group of friends.
PR might be good, but the best Camp action show is defnetly Batman of the 60's. They played the whole series one summer, one episode every day. I should have taped it...

Hello guys NINJA ZORDS, them going Ninja isn't new Wolf, Bear, Ape, Crane, Frog, and Falcon. Besides the first 3 seasons were all about ninjas, we saw them practicing various skills all the time. About the Time they did Galaxy yes it went nuts, and lost all connections to pervious seasons, with the exceptions of the crossover eps.
Anyway I hope Merik and the Wolf Orge show up in the show, really want to see what happens to them.
Anyone noticed the toys? most arem't the right color, I've seen Green and Pink ones with the bikes, wierd.
Speaking of green BRING BACK DRAGON ZORD, he was the only zord I ever really cared about

yeah I'm done, though I am intreged about the idea of the show, we finally get to see rangers ducking it out again, haven't seen a really good version since the Green Ranger

actually, there wasnt 'ninja' anything in any of the power rangers series. what they do is a very badly performed form of karate or taekwondo.

You should not make the mistake to take it seriously. It's actually reall funny show.

Its funny people say they like the first season the best, but if you watch it the first season is crap compared to the other seasons. Its pretty much all canabalised from the japanese series. Granted I love the first season too, but Wild Force was much better as far as production valuses go, hell season 2 was better for that matter, you know it was the actors in the suits (granted they had to be since the suits changed in japan) but it looked better. The only time it got bad was eather in Zeo or Turbo when they went back to using stock, but it was from another series when ever Yellow was done.
If you don't like the show don't watch it, but if you can't look past everything its like watching the 3 stooges, Godzilla, sci-fi and a martail arts movie all at the same time. Yeah its campy but as Karpoo said so is Batman and most still love it.
Only shame is most of the PR actors can never seem to get jobs after. Amy Jo Jonhson( Pink 1) and the first black ranger are the only ones that seem to find work on a continuus basis. (both the first Black Ranger and the Blue Wild Force Ranger have appeared on CSI, kinda wierd hu?)
"I must say that there is nothing wrong with the entertainment industry bending the lore of the ninja to fit the demands of the public." - Guess who?
We all know PR and Ninja Turtles are fictional. Neither show claims what they show is real ninjutsu. It's not their fault the ignorant public believes it is. PR and most Saban shows are campy. I happen to like campy. Especially Batman campy. Nananananananana...

VR Troopers
Tatooed Teenage Mutant Fighters From Beverly Hills (think its Saban)
Mistic Knights of Termon Orge
Give Saban Credit, they made some unique shows, really miss the knights, they just putt so much effort into it, all the CGI, the foregin locations, doing it from scratch. It was a really good show. I Miss Pyre
Really hope Ninja storm is good, from what I've seen it has potential, but I hope we some how get Merik and Zenacoo in an ep

"Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters From Beverly Hills" was not made by Saban it was just a cheap knockoff/parody of the show.
Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog was cool. It was probably the most expensive series Saban did alongside Lost Galaxy. Seriously though you'd never have guessed those two shows were made by the same guy who did the original low budget MMPR episodes.
I guess Saban's turn around came in 1998. In 1997 he had The Next Mutation, Power Rangers Turbo and BBM. None of those shows had huge budgets, but then in 1998 Saban got flamed in the media for his treatment of actors on PR (which is why so many left) and he was forced to spend more on his actors and shows in general.

Not debating the time, but do you mean they Made Mutation duing thats time? Since PR Space did the TMNT cross over not turbo
Speaking of which anyone ever read that TMNT/MMPR cross over? I don't know where it is or if it's still out thier, but it had, I think the Image, TMNT working with the Rangers and Shredder and Zedd working together and some how Raph and Kim got involved. It's been a while, and I never got to read most of it, and well, knew very little about the Image TMNT so I was lost 80% of the time

Saban made and aired The Next Mutation in 1997. The turtles crossover happened at the very beginning of Power Rangers in Space (ep 4) in 1998 after he finished making the Turtles TV series.
Some people seen the crossover as an attempt by Saban to push up the popularity of TNM since it wasn't doing as well as Power Rangers (which was still the number 1 show at the time).

You can view Ninja Storm pictures and promos on this site:
http://custis.freepersonalwebsites.com/misc/prns.html
It's got a promo for the new Red, Blue and Yellow rangers, plus a promo for the Thunder Rangers and just added today the brand new promo which features the new theme song (although the sound quality isn't that great).
I wasn't sure what direction Disney were going to take Power Rangers after they ditched Saban but the new show is looking cool.
Also Shellfox, I doubt we'll see Merrick and ZenAku again. Since Ninja Storm won't be produced in the US it'll be kind of expensive to start shipping out old actors when needed.
We've already have Onikage the Ninja Org in Wild Force and he was one of the coolest villains. Sneaking around covertly, kidnapping Princess Shayla and killing off Toxica and Mandelok. He was more a of a "true" Ninja. Disney did a pretty job with him and maybe went further with his then Saban would have. They even had Master Org kill Cole's parents. If this were Saban they probably would magically came back to life at the end of the season or something. They even hired Amit Bhaumik (a former fan of the show who used to run a fansite) to write the 10th anniversary team up episode.
So far Disney have done a pretty good job. Let' s hope their plans to reinvent PR with Ninja Storm don't get messed up.

So you know anything about the Red Ninjor I saw on the NS Megazord box?
Still since Space they've done cross overs with past seasons so the 2 showing up isn't impossible

So you know anything about the Red Ninjor I saw on the NS Megazord box?
Well it's called Ninjakon and to most fans it is viewed as just another repaint. Every year Bandai repaint old toys and pass them off as something new but they never usually end up on the show. Even though it would be really cool if he returned. There's and ebay photo of him here (http://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/bin/imageserver.x/00000000/firedude12/powninjameg1.jpg).
since Space they've done cross overs with past seasons so the 2 showing up isn't impossible
For the last 10 years Power Rangers has been made in the US. It was quite easy to hire back old actors for crossovers since most lived in California where the show was filmed.
However after Wild Force finished, Disney closed down MMPR productions in the US, destroyed nearly all the props from the past 10 years (some of it's going ebay if your lucky) sacked around 90% of the people on the show including the writers and most importantly has moved production to New Zealand where there will be no American actors.
That's why the last episode was called "The End of the Power Rangers", it is quite literally the end of era.
I'm not sure 100% that their won't be a team up just that it would be very difficult to do since they can't just invite an actor back, they would have to ship them halfway around the world just to film the episodes. I wouldn't expect a guaranteed team up as we've seen every year but you never know, after all we've been surprised in the past with "Forever Red" (who'd have thought the original Jason and Tommy would return after all these years) :)

Actually, I don't find it funny at all. It's rather insulting to anyone involved in the tradition. Similar to how Native Americans were often portrayed in the old Looney Toons and Rockey and Bullwinkle cartoons.
Japan insulting itself?? Well, considering the ninja were always a counterculture subsociety that statement hardly holds any truth to it. Its like saying Rocky and Bullwinkle making fun of Native Americans is America making fun of itself.
Well, since the show is entirely fictional, and anyone with half a brain would be able to recognize it's only fiction, I don't have a problem with it. Every single group in the history of the world has been messed with like that. Take it as a personal insult if you must, but you aren't going to change things.

well, kali, you should go on and read Dr. Hatsumi's next line....
he states very plainly what IS wrong is when the public begins to think these fairy tales are actually representative of what ninjutsu is really all about.
as has been adequately shown by people on this board alone, this is a very unfortunate and very real result of such fiction.
Yes, and it's admirable that you're trying to correct the misinformation. But the main population is always going to be willingly naive about things like this. You can't change the entire world. Part of the reason ninjutsu is so "popular" is because of it's "supernaturalness" from the point of view of the average person. No matter how many books or how much truth is put out, people are still going to believe more interesting and disturbing fiction over the facts.
If anyone above the age of five thinks anything concerning PR is fact, I'm very worried about our society.
People still think witches go around flying on brooms and eating babies but you don't see me getting my britches in a knot about it.

no, I think most people, excluding some Christian fundies, think witchcraft is a pretty harmless religion....
HA! I've met plenty of people who seriously think otherwise, from many different religions. Of course, there are many more who know it's harmless or just don't care. But that's not that point. The point is the human race is interested in the unusual, fearsome, and morbid, as long as it's from a safe distance, and they aren't gonna change.
Hence why Jerry Springer is still on the air.
