"Prodigal Son"

Story Editor: Lloyd Goldfine

Senior Supervising Director: Roy Burdine

Written by Gavin Hignight

Synopsis:

Leonardo returns from his lessons with the Ancient One to find the lair destroyed and his family scattered across town… all by the hand of Karai. This will not stand. It looks like there’s going to be a showdown of masterful swords… a showdown between Leonardo and Karai.

NOTE: The new season synopses are based on early drafts of the scripts. Due to this and differences in the broadcasting order, this title and synopsis may be inaccurate.

-------------------------------------------------------------

I remember seeing Fleder do a thread like this, and figured why not give it a try..

So, Leo's returning to New York City after a two month hiatus in Japan. How has his healing process gone? Two months is a very long time...

I remember a story about "the prodigal son", focusing on a father and his two sons. It involved money, loose women, livestock, love and jealousy. Sounds like a pilot for a reality show, doesn't it? ;)

Well, lets focus on Leo and Splinter...

After the months of anger, conflict and subsequent "fight" in which Leo injured his father in a moment of clouded judgement and rage, Leo was sent off to conquer his inner demons.

During this time, we've seen some development of the other brothers. In last week's episode, we've seen Raphael's shift into 'leader mode'. He's not as hot-headed as he's been in the past - he's shifted into taking responsibility for the others, as we saw last week.

Donnie... well, what Have we seen of Donatello? Does he continue to bottle his emotions down, repressing the memories of his nightmarish experiences? Or is something going to happen to Him eventually?

Mike.. how many times have you seen him sit still long enough to build a card house? :P As Mike had said in The Samurai Tourist, Leo's being as he was allowed the others to "..not think. ...to dream. ...take it easy." We Have seen Mike mature in recent episodes, especially in Grudge Match, and a lil bit in Samurai Tourist

What of Splinter..? He obviously worried about his son. It makes you wonder how Leo and Splinter will react when they see each other again. I don't know about YOU guys, but I"m hoping for a nice sappy mushy family moment. Get yer galoshes ready! :P

NOW....
Its been two months since Leo's left. All he knows of is that something bad has either happened, or its Going to happen. The Ancient One didn't give much information. What will Leo be thinking on the trip back? Its going to take Days, maybe even Weeks until he gets back home. To agonize about his family, only to return to a destroyed lair, and his family resumed dead... what is this going to do to him? All of his healing in the past months.. what will this do to that?

Karai no doubt has been planning and chomping at the bit for him to return. her final 'revenge' has assumingly been accomplished, saved for the one Brother. Now Leo would understand the fear and isolation of being an orphan... or will he?

WILL LEO BE REUNITED WITH HIS FAMILY?!
WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN BETWEEN HIM AND KARAI!?
HOW ARE HIS BROTHERS... HIS FATHER GOING TO TREAT HIM?!
HOW MANY LOOSE WOMEN WILL LEO--- Wait, nevermind.... bad mod, bad mod..

So Be sure to have your sugar-coated cereals and strong coffee ready for the biggest showdown of the season!

And even though Devils may Cry when I say it..

STAY TUNED!!!

Up and at em, Everyone!

*makes poll*

That New Intro's... interesting. I can't wait to hear people's opinions.

I couldn't help but roll my eyes a bit... However, I was glad to see Don was all emotional about the reunion. This ep just.. I dunno. It didn't have the impact I was hoping for. :ohwell:

*edit*
Is it just me, or is it odd that the Leo and Karai ep is on the Lovey Dovey Valentine's Day Weekend? ;)

Decent episode. The theme has now changed completely. It kind of ticked me off that Leo didn't kill Karai. Deep down I knew he wouldn't.. I just hoped that he would. It's not as if she's going to stop hunting them now. Oh well...

In many ways this episode is like a fresh start for the series. New lair, new shredder, new walking stick. Angel also made an appearance which makes me glad. It always makes me happy when they show secondary charcters being useful every once in a while. Now where's Leatherhead... and Casey?

I'm with you , Machi...it was kinda flat. I mean....could we EVEN get a hug???? He's been gone TWO MONTHS. :ohwell:

But the new intro was interesting......and the fight was interesting...And there was another of those goofy shorts this morning ("turtle powered generator")

Somehow I don't think Karai is gonna make good with her second chance. Kinda made me think about SAINW and how long Leo must have been giving her "Second Chances" If you leave a scorned woman to fester...you are only gonna get trouble in the end.

And Leo beheaded Saki....again

Now.......what was all this craziness for next week????

Yeah I agree what was with the lack of Casey and April didn't seem quite as Phased as expected. I would have thought Casey would have been the first place Raph would have gone

OMG, what the HELL was with that opening?!!!11one And that new Battleshell... :o

Wheeee~ not a bad episode. Good call on Leo's part sending Angel to talk to April. The Foot dun know who she is. I was glad to see Leo kept his head too...I expected him to, but there were a couple times I thought he was gonna lose it. Donnie (or someone) totally should've glomped Leo. Man that would'a made my YEAR. XD The reunions were a little cheesey, but I still found myself going, 'awwwwww.' And the way Leo talked to Klunk was soooo cute!

Leo's finding everyone was great too-- he could TOTALLY be on CSI. XD

Fight scene was good, nice n' fast paced. Can't wait to see if Karai really does turn around. If she doesn't, Leo might hunt her down in some dark alley. XD

And about the preview for next week, I'm wonderin' if this's where the Monster Donnie episode will come in....I mean, red-eyed mutant vicious critters? I was hoping a whole episode would be devoted to that... >.>

Anyways, that's all I've got for now! *waves and skips off*

The new opening is interesting, didnt expect them to change it mid season but it's good that they change it to go w/ the current storyline.

The episode was alright, leo remembering past events like that was kinda far-fetched. And Karai being part of the intro means she's not gonna turn around anytime soon. Leo handle Karai with no problem at all does this mean he surpass splinter as a fighter?

Teh new intro was...well i've never been a fan of the intro's so i'm nota gonna judge it. The episode is self is lacking some in my opinion. It has turned into The tales of Leonardo, the Psychic Flying Fighter turtle... and his family. It bothers be some, actually alot. I really didn't like that there was a lack of emotion from everyone, but also the episode can be broken down into, Leo comes home, Leo saves his family, Leo stops Karai and is the better person/turtle. It's getting old. One of the things i loved about other JL/JLU was that is season 4(2, if you wanna go JLU timeline) Flash was the one to stop the big bad, not Supes and Batman. In BtVS Willow became more powerful than Buffy and it made it interesting. A suporting character coming out for an unexpected victory is great. I would really love to see Mikey or Don do something, anything for that matter. I gave it a 5/10. Not one of TMNTs best. No where near it, but you know what they say. When you hit bottom there is nowhere else to go but up. Let's hope the up is on it's way.

I don't think there's any hope for Karai now, after all they put her in the intro as shredder. Speaking of the intro, I hope they're not going to keep screwing around with it.
Somehow I expected more from this ep. The little thing between Leo and Splinter was nice but I just expected more, hoped for more I guess.
This must have been really closely timed, the robot still in the lair, fresh footprints and tracks, and the fact that nobody went looking for each other.

The helicopter's cool, but the new battle shell looks like an ice-cream truck. A rocket launching ice-cream truck... The old battle shell's much cooler.

Cool episode, I thought the Karai Leo fight would be longer, though. It's still very cool fight. I'm gonna miss their old lair. This lair was hands down the best design of all the TMNT lairs. And it's got a magic elevator! I hope the new lair will be equally awesome.

Well, that was interesting... though I agree, the whole bit with Leonardo having visions of what really happened to his brothers was a bit far fetched... and repetitive. IMO, but some things could have been condensed with Leo finding everyone already at the docks where he found Don and Splinter. Say, they planned to rendezvous there when they escaped. Would have given the gang (sans Leo) a little more credit without having to wait for him to come save the day. And this coming from a big Leo fan. Hh.

As for the big fight at the end... is it me, or has the semi-new art style changed Karai around a bit? She looked pretty much like her old self in Bad Day, but now... new haircut? Anyway, onto more pertinent manners... at least Leo did the right thing, as I imagined him to. Recognized that Karai was going down the same self-destructive path as he was before he went to see the Ancient One, threw in her face that she was becoming just like her father, a far cry from the Karai he first met and in the end, gave her a chance (perhaps the last one) to make amends and go back to who she once was and who she truly is and not what the Shredder wanted her to be. And at least he pointed out she shouldn't mess with is family... and in turn, pretty much told her they're all still alive. Still, perhaps if the episode had more time, or shifted its priorities around and devoted more time to other parts, Leo could have said more and gotten his point across perhaps a little bit better. But you know what they say about hindsight...

Again, better it wasn't the old Season 4 Leo. That reckless fool would have just charged in, swords ablazing, not thinking things through... and thus proudly have tried to reach Karai the hard way, going from the first floor of the Foot's tower and up. That wouldn't have ended well, no sir. Sure, it all worked in in Return to New York, but that took everyone and careful planning and outside interference on the part of April to mess with the security system... and even then the TMNT came close to losing to the Shredder. A one turtle wrecking crew would not have been nearly as effective in that situation (or the one presented in this episode even more so).

Considering how flexible the people behind the show are, I can't say I'd be surprised if that new intro with Karai as the Shredder last only an episode or two. It would be nice to see, after Karai redeems herself, Bishop taking that spot in the opening. Perhaps its just me, but he darn well deserves to be the main baddie once the Foot aren't the main spotllight when it comes to villainy. Unlike, say, Dreeg or Dragon Lord, Bishop has everything that it takes to be a good permanent replacement villain for Oroku Saki and he truly needs to step up, take names and become the main baddie. Long as he puts up a better fight than he did in his last episode. That was a bit pitiful compared to his showings in his first appearance and Hun on the Run.

Getting back on track here... the new lair is certainly a nice one. Can't say I'm complaining on that. Always good to have a nice change of pace.

I realize most of the posters on this forum tend to prefer the new toon to the original, and prefer the mirage comics over everything. But I still gotta say the new toon is just kind of disappointing lately. I don't expect any of you to agree with me, and I'm not trying to change anyone's minds, but hey it wouldn't be fun if we didn't have different opinions right?

About 15 minutes wasted getting every turtle back one at a time, would it have been hard for Mikey or Raph to try and find the others? They seemed fine... I dunno but it was like this most of the episode

Then the whole karai showdown and it's what, over in like 2 minutes? The foot rush in right after Karai and Leo fight (of course) because obviously in one episode's the enemies have gotten way stupid.

There really was no other way to end this 2 parter, my opinion is that it shouldn't have happend in the first place. Seems like just another reason to make new toys and hope for betting ratings with a complete make over. The show started out decent, but I think it's time for it to end (you may not agree with me now, let's see about next season, turtles in time :p).

This show has this sort of cheesey quality to it lately, and I don't think it would be nearly as bad if they didn't try to play it off as a serious action cartoon. Serious and cartoon are like an oxymoron, and it just doesn't work that well with TMNT in general.

Feel free to disagree, hopefully future episodes will be great, but am I the only one who got in this downward spiral of disappointment after the first season ended?

PS It seems like the companies are trying to reinvent TMNT by not doing anything different. The cartoon is the same just with new vehicles and a new lair, the toys are probably the same even though they're acting as if this new season is going to be a new show or something, and from what I'm expecting the new movie is going to be sooooo cheesey because it thinks it's gritty that only hardcore tmnt fans who dig mirage are going to like it, if that. I wouldn't be surprised if it made it's way to dvd faster than doom did

"swords abalazing" I like that one.

This was a good epsiode, but not as good as last week, and not nearly as good as the greats like SAINW, Shredder Strikes Back, etc. I too would have liked to see much more emotion, but I guess they were pressed for time as it was. And using Leo as a device for the flashbacks was a little, erm... He's learned a lot from the Ancient One, I'll grant - but probably not the ability to be his own crystal ball.

I dunno, maybe it was supposed to be him reconstructing events in his head a la CSI. Still.

And was anyone disappointed that all three of his brothers mananged to escape the vehicles just before they exploded? The Tunneler is tough; maybe have Leo drag a seriously injured Mikey out of the wreckage? Mikey could gripe about spending two MORE months in a cast, etc... And Klunk could be cute and stay at his side or something. I found it adorable that he hissed at Leo for his sleeping master! And was like "Oh wait... I know you... purrrrrr..." :P

All in all, I think this epsiode suffered because it was trying to cram too much stuff into a 22 minute episode. I enjoyed it, but not as much as I could have, had it been done differently (split into two, like they should have for so many other recent episodes... and cranked up the emotional stuff).

I might be considered a strange one, but I myself love the two cartoons equally and in thus, in turn, prefer them both to the comic. Though I do like the comics as well, at least the first volume.

I dunno but it was like this most of the episode
Well, I can admit to that. Then again, I've been waiting since Exodus to see Leo and Karai confront one and another, so, to me, everything preceding it this episode was just getting in the way.

Feel free to disagree, hopefully future episodes will be great, but am I the only one who got in this downward spiral of disappointment after the first season ended?
To an extent. For me, Season 1 was a great (re)introduction to the world of the TMNT and I truly cannot think of a bad episode from it.. well, maybe The Search for Splinter. And it was the only season where we could consider (as we where at the time led to believe) Oroku Saki was his human self.

Season 2 had its ups and downs for me, since I don't much care for allt he space adventures... and, to me, Secret Origins was a bit on the predictable side and made you want to smack the Turtles upside the head because they couldn't put two and two together about the evil Ultrom and the Shredder. Though I did like The Ultimate Ninja. And then City at War came along and renewed my faith quite a bit. And then Rogue in the House actually made me not despise the notion that the Shredder was an Ultrom.

Season 3 was interesting, as it got to do something the comics could not, actually showing the relationship between Karai and a still-living Shredder... even if a few things were obviously a bit different compared to the comics. And it gave us Bishop. Always a good thing.

during winx(right before the TMNT) they showed a Monster Hunter preview, with the new van and everything. new footage and stuff...I think its a reality more than a promo. I hate hate hate the new previews with mikey and don announcing. last week they were supposed to be dead, and then they pretend to be the triceriton announcer guys? lame!

My only gripe was that in the previous eppisode all 3 turtles and Splinter couldnt even take down one of those foot Battlemechs. And lo and behold Leo swipes one a few times and makes scrap out of it. Yes I know the mechs had backup foot soldiers and all that but the epp seemed a bit rushed to make it to the final confrontation between Leo and Karai.

Now..getting to the Leo/Karai face off. I liked it. It was far to quick a battle for my taste...but I'll live with that. Again I think Leo defeated her way to easily...it should have been fleshed out more, but then Im thinking theres not a lot you can do in a 30 minute time frame.

I would like to have seen Leo a lot angrier than he was, then drive his point home as he beheads the Saki statue...but thats just me. And wouldnt it have been a shock if he actually did not give Karai her second chance? We wouldnt have much of a series if that happened would we.

Overall...good eppisode.:)

Feel free to disagree, hopefully future episodes will be great, but am I the only one who got in this downward spiral of disappointment after the first season ended?Well, I can agree that Season 4 hasn't been as good as the others... it almost seems lost, kinda wandering.... We've had a good episode here and there, but it doesn't quite measure up to previous seasons. As I said above, SAINW and Shredder Strikes Back are my personal favorites, but several others come close. And since episode 1, the voice- and animation-acting have improved markedly. That I do enjoy.

The thing I take issue with is the "serious and cartoon are like an oxymoron." Sounds like you're bit with the misconception that plagues most of the Western world (and drives me nuts) i.e, that cartoons should only be funny and they're for kids unless there's a bunch of obvious sexual innuendo. I think this show does a good job being serious. They actually develop their characters and in battle, are actually hurt from time to time. Did the old turtles ever have to sport bandages and recuperate for whole epsiodes? The only difference between this and a scifi live action show is the characters are drawn instead of real. And while I'll admit this show isn't the best thing to ever hit TV, it does a darn good job anyway.

As for preferences... I love both the old and new toons. I lean toward the new just because there are so many animation errors in the old one, it's almost painful. But at the same time, I love old Raph and Don, and the theme song will forever kick the new one's trash. I haven't read much Mirage yet, but I really want to. I love how the new show is following the tone of the original Turtles, and not trying to piggyback the old show.

As for cheesy? I know what you mean and agree when it comes to some of the stuff that's happened this season. But seriously, this show is about ninja turtles. Nothing with that premise can escape cheesiness entirely. ;)

My only gripe was that in the previous eppisode all 3 turtles and Splinter couldnt even take down one of those foot Battlemechs. And lo and behold Leo swipes one a few times and makes scrap out of it.Agreed. Even though I like Leo and acknowledge that he has the best skillz, I was rolling my eyes a bit at that. At least they just made the thing fall over, instead of falling to pieces or something terrible. Maybe if I twist my own brain I can say the guy wasn't ready for him... at least, that's how I'll rationalize it. :P

Times like this, I wish I had taped all the fourth season after all. Oh, how a music video could be made out of Leo and Karai's changes since Exodus. Crossfade's So Far Away would (IMO) be a fitting song.

It worked with the original for the first three years (they also had originality to fall back to add to the unpredictability), it does'nt that much with the new show because the comedy is god awful, and the VAs never ONCE give you the impression that there remoltey bothered with delivering either seriousness or comedy.

The fourth season, despite these faults that have been with the series since it began though, has broken the usual "It jumps after the main villain is taken out" assumptions and whatever downward spiral TMNT suffered from came to an end when season two ended.

Wow. I thought this was going to be a hyperventilate, cling to the ceiling ep, but it wasn't so bad. Although I thought the escapes of the three Turtles from their vehicles a little trite. (how can you not notice a motorcycle speeding away from a car wreck when you're in a helicopter?)

Leo is refreshingly focused, and I'm so relieved ("I have my son back" says Splinter. :)).

Karai sounded so desperate: "No, I must have my revenge!" Seems like she's frightened, and she also seems to not hold any real hatred for the Turtles (probably pretty ticked off at them, yes, but that's slightly different), but she sort of feels obligated to take on her father's hatred for them. It was more like "I have to defeat you!" rather than "I want to defeat you!".

Leo cut the helmet from Karai's head... impressive. And he actually frightened her, which is a good sign; she's not so hard that she's impervious to anything but hatred and destruction.

I'm so glad Leo saw the parallel between his anger and Karai's. And I'm glad he had his head on straight, and was objective enough to see her anger. I thought slicing the head off of Saki's statue may have been too much (push her over the edge again), but she looked thoughtful and maybe a little wistful at the end, rather than angry.

The new opening: I'm going, "No, she's not the Shredder. She really isn't. Don't encourage her!" :p I don't want to think that's she's going to be a permanent fixture as the Shredder (actually, I wouldn't even mind her being the Shredder if she'd be friends with the Turtles again :p), as their enemy. She was a great deal more thoughtful at the end of the ep than I was expecting. It could be that this is going to be a slow journey for her, like it was for Leo. But I'm not losing hope for her yet. (I know, some people just wanted him to kill her, end of story, good-bye, but like I said, they did play her part in earlier eps so that she'd win the sympathies of some fans, and I can't see them just killing her off after that.)

The first set of footprints: I'm sorry, but those were not Rat prints or Turtle prints (they need a footprint model sheet!). Those were Crocodile prints. I thought Leatherhead was going to show up for a bit there. It kind of threw me off. The next set of footprints were right.

GO KLUNK! Attack kitty! ;)

Now... did you notice that that gas station had the Foot logo on the sign? Looks like Karai is diversifying her father's corporation.

Is it just me, or is it odd that the Leo and Karai ep is on the Lovey Dovey Valentine's Day Weekend?Hmm. Now that you mention it.. heehee. :D

Recognized that Karai was going down the same self-destructive path as he was before he went to see the Ancient One, threw in her face that she was becoming just like her father, a far cry from the Karai he first met and in the end, gave her a chance (perhaps the last one) to make amends and go back to who she once was and who she truly is and not what the Shredder wanted her to be.*nodnodnods* What you said. :)

Oh, I forgot to ask: For anyone who taped the epsiode... Did they manage to spell "Oroku Saki" correctly on the front of the library this time? The camera panned by it before I could check.
(how can you not notice a motorcycle speeding away from a car wreck when you're in a helicopter?)I was wondering that, too. It's not like the explosion/smoke cloud were that huge.

Hoooo boy, anybody else think Leo should start sporting a cape, and shout "Titans Go!"? I was a bit annoyed that he took down that Foot Mech so easily. I mean I know the Ancient One taught him a few things but yeesh!

This episode was okay. It was kinda...hopeful which is good I guess. Maybe a little too much. Leo was very...cheery. I guess he was happy that his family was alive but I thought he was still really really happy. And the way they spent all that time making sure he reunited his family, brought food for them, helped them find a new lair. Oh what would they do if he left again! The family would fall apart! Think of the children!

So I guess if they live near a water pumping station now Leo can touch the water and he'll be able to purify it (and I know I'm so gonna be slammed for that).

I did like that he fought Karai with a level head. "It appears the love has gone out of our relationship." Yeah guess they put an end to that.

I hope Karai will take this last chance to reflect and repent, that look appears she might, but *sigh* I doubt it. Still an okay episode if not up to the caliber of last weeks.

The New Intro Shocked Me. I Haven't Had A Chance To Watch It Again. At 1st Glance The Turtle Van Looked Like U-haul. Whats Up With That? Also For Some Reason I Associate The Van With Pizza, Why????????? And I Dont Like The Voice Of Karai In The Intro.

The Episode Was Good, Really Good At 1st. At The Pace It Was Going, With Leo Finding Everyone I Thought We Would See A Part 3 Next Week. It Was A Refreshingly Slower Pace Then Usual And I Just Couldn't Imagine How They Could Fit A Karai And Leo (full) Fight In This Episode. Thats Where It Went Wrong. The Fight Sucked. There Was No Fight! The Animation Sucked And Karai Sucks As A Fighter. It Really Dragged The Episode Down.

Next Weeks Episode Is Probably Bishops Work. Hes Probably Experimenting. This Might Lead To Don's Mutation Finally.

So I guess if they live near a water pumping station now Leo can touch the water and he'll be able to purify it (and I know I'm so gonna be slammed for that).

LOL. I LOVE IT

I dunna, I wasn't a big fan of Leo's psudo-psychic powers. It was an interesting device to show us the others escapes (is it me or were Raph and Mikey's escapes kinda obvious and should have been seen by the Foot). I thought the hype killed this one, actually.

Alright! Now the turtles live in a mansion! Nice to know the turtles are moving up in the world. Definatly a nice looking house they have there.

Karai needs a new helmet and a new statue. Oi.

But hey... gotta love Leo's new power to see previous episodes.

I wonder tho if that new walking stick Splinter got from his grandpa er the ancient one has a hidden meaning behind it?

Oh and did you notice in the NEW theme it said "Turtles... they never let us down..."???

Very good episode I enjoyed it. I loved hearing Leonardo speak in his normal sounding voice. I got a little fan girlish with that.

I thought the way the turtles escaped was a little predictable, but clever. I espeically loved the way Donatello and Splinter escaped. Michaelangelo and Klunks escape was decent. Raphael's made me go WTF:-? , how did the foot guys miss him going out the back end of the van? Maybe the foot have tunnel vision or somthing:ohwell:.

Oh some one mentioned given the nature of Michaelangelo's escape drilling thingy, he should have been dragged out of the wreckage injured. Well when Leonardo found him, he seemed to be a bit injured because he had to support him to walk, which struck me as a bit odd because when they showed him escaping he didn't appear to have hurt him self at all. Oh I LOVED that little exchange between Leonardo and Klunk, I loved how Klunk got all fierce alley cat on him protecting his master. Its so rare that you see the other turtles pay any attention to Klunk, I was smiling:) . You know after how Leonardo took out everything so easily, I thought it would have been a nice dose of comedy if Klunk had attacked Leonardo and try to claw him. That would have been funny, Leonardo getting mauled by a little fur ball of a kitten:lol: Maybe you guys wouldn't be bitching so much right now;)

And was it a little predicable that Leonardo found Raphael last, I thought we were going to have some Raphael and Leonardo brotherly moment, but it didn't go that way:sweatdro:. Was I the only one that thought that Raphael sounded a bit hoarse the entire episode. Like his voice actor had a cold or something? I giggled when Raphael came in and acted like a cool cat, and brushed off Donatello's enthusiasm LOL.

Karai bugs me, but I did like that CEO bussiness skirt suit she was sporting in this episode. Very Liberated woman like. I liked the fight with Leonardo and Karia, but I thought it was a bit rushed. Nice badass move Leonardo did to the Shredder statue, but I thought it was a little insencitive and I actaully felt a pang of sympathy for Karai when she looked at his head. If some one had beheaded a statue of my deceased father I think I would have been undone:cry: . And this is coming from some one who hates Karai:sick:

My biggest question/gripe was, just how long where the turtles seperated for? When the Ancient One had that premonition the turtles lair was getting attacked, and Leonardo was still in Japan. And then after every one is scattered Leonardo is jumping off the boat and goes looking for them. How long did it take to sail from Japan into New York's harbor? Just a few days? I got the empression that the turtles where sepreted for just a few days. It should have taken months to get back to the states. How long did that boat trip last? What was it magic? That was a serious passage of time dysfuntion on the writters part!

You know Sage, I never even thought about that...maybe The Ancient One had a vision much eariler than the events of Scion. *shrugs* but you're right, it seemed Leo hoped a really fast boat from Japan to New York.

Wow I must not just agree with people or something lol...
Because I loved today's episode.
It had everything! Action, Great Character Dialog, Decent Art and animation, & Character Development and progression of the story.
Leonardo and the family are back as one finally we have the old Leo back now and I love how happy splinter seems and everything just seems back to normal I am glad they found a new home glad to see April and Angel.....was odd though no Casey at all? I guess April only sees Mr. Jones after hours now ;) hehe
I loved the fight between Karai and Leonardo it was short and brief but it was beautiful I know the conclusion of it was predictable but I still liked it I think this is her turning point now...the show is headed in a good direction. I also loved when Leo cut the statues head off beautiful seriously!
BUT ONE THING DRIVES ME INSANE WHERE IS LEATHERHEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!???????
BTW am I the only one loving all these tmnt shorts that they're playing I hope they end up on the dvd's!
Oh and next weeks preview is crazy! It looks like we will finally get the Minitonka Mutant episode....which means...bishop is coming out from hibernation

02-11-2006, 02:29 PM
well, at least, Leo's back to normal...
Amen To That!
OMG, what the HELL was with that opening?!!!11one And that new Battleshell... :o
And the way Leo talked to Klunk was soooo cute!
And about the preview for next week, I'm wonderin' if this's where the Monster Donnie episode will come in....I mean, red-eyed mutant vicious critters?
I thought it was decent I actually really like that they are changing the intros so much to fit the show every time it changes to go along with the story....
The New Ride they have is hardly a Battle shell I actually love it and can't wait till it's made it's more discrete then the Battle Shell was.
Leo Talking to Klunk what did he say? Damn I missed that for some reason...
I do believe next week will be a bishop Minitonka Mutant Episode but heck Don could mutate in the episode to that would be great because this little arc has just end...now the turtles live need something bad to happen again
The episode was all right, Leo remembering past events like that was kinda far-fetched. And Karai being part of the intro means she's not gonna turn around anytime soon. Leo handle Karai with no problem at all does this mean he surpass splinter as a fighter?
It was far-fetched but way cool cause he's right up there with splinter now which is really helpful...I'm not to sure about Karai I think she may turn over...and they seem to change the intro an awful lot these days so don't be to sure of that....
I think Karai was not fighting as well because she was blinded by hate...it really seems to mess people up in this show when they fight and are angry lol
I really didn't like that there was a lack of emotion from everyone.
I didn't like that either it sort of bothered me...but they didn't have much time to delve into all that mushy crap I think lol it's only a half hour show they have to make due with what they have haha plus the last time they saw Leo he was an utter jerk...but It did makes me smile really big how happy they all had been to see him.
I don't think there's any hope for Karai now, after all they put her in the intro as shredder. Speaking of the intro, I hope they're not going to keep screwing around with it.
This must have been really closely timed, the robot still in the lair, fresh footprints and tracks, and the fact that nobody went looking for each other.
Don't be to sure of this if the turtles and laird stories have ever taught us anything there is always hope for redemption in the turtles world.
I sure hope they keep screwing with it because it can only get better if they do :)
yes it seems as if there adventures are becoming weekly
The helicopter's cool, but the new battle shell looks like an ice-cream truck. A rocket launching ice-cream truck... The old battle shell's much cooler.
This lair was hands down the best design of all the TMNT lairs. And it's got a magic elevator! I hope the new lair will be equally awesome.
I totally disagree with you and the other person who said this but OK to each there own...this is much better and not so much like oh look at us they should be in something that's not that easy to spot....this truck is a moving van I think anyway...and it is very conspicuous.
The new lair will be fun I bet kinds reminds me of the old shows with a new twist...and color scheme

Considering how flexible the people behind the show are, I can't say I'd be surprised if that new intro with Karai as the Shredder last only an episode or two. It would be nice to see, after Karai redeems herself, Bishop taking that spot in the opening. Perhaps its just me, but he darn well deserves to be the main baddie once the Foot aren't the main spotlight when it comes to villainy. Unlike, say, Dregg or Dragon Lord, Bishop has everything that it takes to be a good permanent replacement villain for Oroku Saki and he truly needs to step up, take names and become the main baddie. Long as he puts up a better fight than he did in his last episode. That was a bit pitiful compared to his showings in his first appearance and Hun on the Run.
I agree with you 100% on Bishop I hope he takes that spot he's an amazing villain in the fact that he's so freakin' evil that I actually hate him in a good way...but I will Disagree with you about Lord Dregg he's not given a chance the poor character came in at the end of the series and I think he was a hell of a villain he even managed to single handidly capture shredder, krang, the tmnt, April, carter, splinter, trick all the people of earth, and betray his own helpers to me he's as much of a bad ass as the new shredder was...but I'm more then sure I'm the only one who feels that way about Dregg lol...
Dragon Lord I will agree he was an idiot Dr. Quease should have been the head bad guy of the next mutation...
The show started out decent, but I think it's time for it to end (you may not agree with me now, let's see about next season, turtles in time :p).
I wouldn't be surprised if it made it's way to dvd faster than doom did
See you are saying your an old school fan right...but so am I and you don;t seem to have a very opened mind towards the turtles exploration of time and space and such....they did that plenty of times in the old show, the games, and the toy lines...so I don't see why your using turtles fast forward as an example...
OK I agree with you about the movie lol
This was a good episode, but not as good as last week, and not nearly as good as the greats like SAINW, Shredder Strikes Back, etc. I too would have liked to see much more emotion, but I guess they were pressed for time as it was. And using Leo as a device for the flashbacks was a little, erm... He's learned a lot from the Ancient One, I'll grant - but probably not the ability to be his own crystal ball.
Man could you guys just stop it already with all of that comparing of episodes to past episodes you need to just let go and enjoy them for what they are we would not enjoy other people as much if they were all the same so why would we enjoy episodes that would all be the same.
during winx(right before the TMNT) they showed a Monster Hunter preview, with the new van and everything. new footage and stuff...I think its a reality more than a promo. I hate hate hate the new previews with mikey and don announcing. last week they were supposed to be dead, and then they pretend to be the triceriton announcer guys? lame!
Oh come on have a sense of humor!
My only gripe was that in the previous episode all 3 turtles and Splinter couldn't even take down one of those foot Battlemechs. And lo and behold Leo swipes one a few times and makes scrap out of it. Yes, I know the mechs had backup foot soldiers and all that but the epp seemed a bit rushed to make it to the final confrontation between Leo and Karai.
Now..getting to the Leo/Karai face off. I liked it. It was far to quick a battle for my taste...but I'll live with that. Again I think Leo defeated her way to easily...it should have been fleshed out more, but then IM thinking there's not a lot you can do in a 30 minute time frame.
Yes, that wasn't very good but I guess the accent one has taught Leonardo well but I did love that scene it was animated well or well how the foot mech. looked I'd love a figure of that! But was I the only one who wanted Leo to stab him right in his foot symbol when he said "THE FOOT!"
My favorite Part of there battle was when she shot the chain out from her back great stuff there loved it!

Wow. I thought this was going to be a hyperventilate, cling to the ceiling EP, but it wasn't so bad. Although I thought the escapes of the three Turtles from their vehicles a little trite. (how can you not notice a motorcycle speeding away from a car wreck when you're in a helicopter)?
Leo cut the helmet from Karai's head ... impressive. And he actually frightened her, which is a good sign; she's not so hard that she's impervious to anything but hatred and destruction.
Now ... did you notice that that gas station had the Foot logo on the sign? Looks like Karai is diversifying her father's corporation.
I agree with you on the Vehicle thing..totally trite! They would have noticed the foot is not this dumb especially Karais foot.
Ugh I cannot believe I forgot to mention that best moment in this episode was that I loved when he cut her helmet open showing her like listen lady you are not the shredder we know it and we still care about you...
I don't see her as the shredder either and I hated her saying watch out for shredder in the beginning it just sounded um lame! lol
I would like them to show her becoming how she is now with the tmnt in the comics....I love Karai it's probably from the comics but you know I never thought we'd ever even see her animated...and I'm glad she is not dead Leo just wouldn't kill like that...
Yes, thank you I thought the gas station had that wait actually...was this scene shown to us before in another episode why do I swear we have seen a foot logo gas station before?
So I guess if they live near a water pumping station now Leo can touch the water and he'll be able to purify it (and I know I'm so gonna be slammed for that).
*slams you!* :D

No Devils Cried here. Not for me atleast. I was kinda dissappointed in this episode. It should have been a 2 parter. They spent the whole episode showing Leo finding his family and then the last 5 minutes he fought Karai. He gets into the heavily guarded Foot Base in 10 seconds and kicks her butt in a minute. Then he gives her a second chance and runs off.

The new Intro was ummm I have mixed feeling about that one but I do think they need to just give up and make a new intro...new song and all.

I might be considered a strange one, but I myself love the two cartoons equally and in thus, in turn, prefer them both to the comic. Though I do like the comics as well, at least the first volume.

That's great dude, seriously, I prefer the movies over everything though (except maybe the old cartoon).

Then again, I've been waiting since Exodus to see Leo and Karai confront one and another

I Haven't been following the show as much as I should, so my opinions on the new show are more of a casual fan than a diehard tmnt fan even though the turtles consume my soul

Oroku Saki was his human self.

At first I thought it was cool they were being different than anything else, but I came to the conclusion that Shredder was already different enough, and that this was actually a worse fate than they gave Shredder in the old comics (worm cloning still sort of bugs me)

Season 2 had its ups and downs for me, since I don't much care for allt he space adventures... and, to me

That's been my point for a while too, though most people disagreed with me in the bebop/rocksteady thread I made a while ago. The grittier turtles work better, but I can understand that maybe it wouldn't for a cartoon that sells action figures.

The thing I take issue with is the "serious and cartoon are like an oxymoron."

I meant more for this kind of cartoon, which is more a franchise than a cartoon. Even the new Batman cartoon strays away from being as dark as the 90's one. I know there's anime out there that's all adult, but they're not selling action figures to kids, y'know?

I think this show does a good job being serious.
I disagree but I see where you're coming from on the other points

The only difference between this and a scifi live action show is the characters are drawn instead of real.

Well, that and probaly a bunch of soap opera crap and violence. There's no real violence in TMNT, I thought there was when they beheaded Shredder, but man was I wrong. I mean they proved they could push the limits, no one really knew Shredder was going to be an utrom, and it wasn't revealed until quite a while later (a whole season away) if they still did stunts like that I would drool over the show

And while I'll admit this show isn't the best thing to ever hit TV, it does a darn good job anyway.

I actually think it's far better than any other cartoon on right now, and it shows that the producers/writers/animators care about their turtles, but unfortunately just because they like what they're doing doesn't mean I do. Then again I have a set preference of what I'd like to see the TMNT be, so I'm totally biased.

animation errors in the old one

That's 80's animation for ya, I've never judged a cartoon soley on animation (not saying you are) but I know tons of people that won't watch Transformers because of bad animation, but they overlook the awesome storytelling, great voice actors, and imagination. Then they watch those godawful anime transformers that might have pretty pictures but nothing else, and it makes me angry

So I guess if they live near a water pumping station now Leo can touch the water and he'll be able to purify it (and I know I'm so gonna be slammed for that).

Haha, quote worthiness.

Nice badass move Leonardo did to the Shredder statue, but I thought it was a little insencitive and I actaully felt a pang of sympathy for Karai when she looked at his head. If some one had beheaded a statue of my deceased father I think I would have been undone :(.Yeah, that made me wince. "Way to undermine everything you just said, Leo!" But she didn't take it that way, apparently.

And, technically... that statue is very very large... the head should not have been that small when Karai picked it up.. http://www.geocities.com/jafarnut/blink.gif

And this is coming from some one who hates Karai
Maybe they'll play up her pitiful side now, to win you over.. *shrug*

How long did it take to sail from Japan into New York's harbor? Just a few days? I got the empression that the turtles where sepreted for just a few days. It should have taken months to get back to the states. How long did that boat trip last? What was it magic? That was a serious passage of time dysfuntion on the writters part!Well, I think that comes from the average American having no idea how long a trans-Pacific voyage is (Oh! That reminds me... why would a ship be going from New York to Japan? Wouldn't it be easier to truck everything to California and then send it by boat..? What? That's not convenient? Oh, that's right... ;)), and not taking the time to research it. (Eh.. I may have to do that now :p) I don't have any idea, myself.

BTW am I the only one loving all these tmnt shorts that they're playing I hope they end up on the dvd's!*blinks* I always miss them, I don't watch anything but Turtles, and I tape them and watch them later, anyway. Why don't they play them during Turtles when Turtles fans are watching? *scratches head* I guess 'cause they're supposed to attract the attention of people who don't normally watch it, so they'll tune in.

Watching some clips of my digital copy now... Yes, Masked Ninja, Oroku is spelled right. :) Heh, Leo steals Karai's katana scabbard at one point... makes up for her stealing his sword in "Exodus", maybe?

BTW, Fledermaus, when I first saw Karai in this ep, I thought her eyes were blue, like you said about April's before... but I think they're just using a different 'mix' on their color green now. I rewound it and watched the shot again, and they looked green to me that time, strangely enough. I think it's one of those ambiguous maybe-blue, maybe-green colors.

Speaking of colors, random observation: through the whole ep, Karai's lips are red, and they're usually a much lighter pink. Dunno if that means anything, but it is a little unusual for them to change a color like that.

Those 2 months of training did pay off well for Leo. Atleast he's no long boad like in the previous episodes.

I knew they'd show how the others survived. And turns out they now going to live at an abandon Water pump place.

Leo sure showed Karai a thing or 2 for being a naughty girl.

I'll give this episode a 5/5 for Leo being his calm self again.

Okay, I'm typing as I watch, so bear with me.

Alright, I appreciate the effort to change the intro to go with the changing times in the cartoon... But I loved it before that whole 'one, Leonardo's always in control' crap. But whatever. Karai's 'Watch out for Shredder' addition, I thought was rather neat. :)

Okay, so... I was entirely disappointed with the guys' reactions to seeing each other again. Not a hug? Nothing? Come on... at the LEAST, this is just enforcing the 'men can't hug each other' manly thing. You'd think, being that they knew no one but themselves for, oh, 15 years... You'd be a bit more excited.

Heh, and hmm... Leo went out and found them all, huh? I love Leo and all... but come ON. And does anyone else think Leo finding them all is one more reason to make Raph a bit more jealous? Hmmm....

Riiiiiight.

And, ok... I liked Leo's "Hello Karai. I got your message." Hehe. I just liked the way he said that!!

But yeah... more emotion needed. That handshake between Leo and Don totally threw me out of the show. I just couldn't get past it. My first warning sign was April's reaction... she shoulda been a little more... upset? *sighs*

Oh, and Angel, huh? Yuck.

Hmm...not the best episode but at the same time far from the worst. I liked the fact that EMO Leo is gone and he's back to normal(and has mystical powers, he's Leo 3.0). Leo was great in this episode, especially during his confrontation with Karai. Though, I really wish we could have seen Leatherhead(were the hell is he), and I wish the last fight was a little longer, but, I could kinda see the fight going the way it did since Leo's mind was clear and Karai's was clouded.

The animation was smooth, and I love Leo's little warning to Karai. I'd give this episode a 7 out of 10.

Next weeks episode looks intresting. Looks like that bug up Karai's ass comes back for revenge, and he's brought friends.

I just think it didn't reach its full potential as those others did. Just after the episode finished I realized how much better it would have been if Don, Mikey, Raph, and Splinter had been a bit more excited to see Leo... and live up to its title. In the Biblical story of the Prodigal Son, the father threw his returning son a huge party. Not that I'm saying there should have been a party, just a little more warmness on his family's part. Here, it almost seemed like "Let's hurry up and have 'em meet so we can get on with the Leo vs. Karai thing."

So yeah. I'm not comparing this to other episodes so much as I'm comparing the way it handled its material with the way the other episodes did. Nitpicky? Yes. But don't mistake it for me wanting a new SAINW or SSB every week.

I think we all were. It saddens me that brothers who didn't know whether their siblings were alive/dead wouldn't hug upon reuniting. I mean, they did look really relieved/happy (especially Don & Raph), but I'm w/ you guys... no hug? :-? No fair! ...Oh, & I was disappointed that (once again) we didn't get to see Leo cry. Arg! If he doesn't cry at this, we won't ever get to see him shed tears. It appears that Fearless really can't...only the emotionally unstable hothead is allowed to break down and actually shed tears for the ones he loves. Grrr, Leo totally would have cried and hugged his bros & father...
...if I was a writer. :P
Heh, and hmm... Leo went out and found them all, huh? I love Leo and all... but come ON.
I know. I love him too, obviously, but Splinter got pwned by Karai, while Leo had her completely helpless in about 30 seconds! I did think the fast paced fight was shweet...it just went way too quickly. I'm with you guys, this totally should have been a 2 parter: this ep Leo finds out that they're "dead," breaks down, realizes that they can't be dead, finds them, & we get our emotional/hug filled reunions. Then the second ep having him go to get food, but really go to fight Karai, his bros cottoning on (come on, did they really not realize that Leo was going to face Karai and (potentially) the whole Foot organization on his own?! Yeah, like they would buy the food story, especially after Splinter's comment. Splinter had to know, but Leo's own bros...they sure didn't let on that they did Duh. Maybe they were so used to EMO Leo's attitude of "don't get in my way" that they just didn't want to get in his way *shrug*). Then Leo could be struggling in the fight (as would have been understandable, considering how much Karai was beating up Splinter) and his bros come to save the day/give him much needed support/back up to hold off the Foot while Leo does his thing w/ Karai. That, imo, would have been a nice 2 parter. But, ah well, one ep w/ a fair amount of emotion and a short but sweet fight is better than a pre-AO ep re-run.
And does anyone else think Leo finding them all is one more reason to make Raph a bit more jealous? Hmmm....
No, not really. Actually, I was really impressed with Raph's reaction. First he was glad to see Leo, then his thoughts immediately went to his other bros (unlike Don or Mikey's thought processes). Raph was really upset/worried. I think that he actually had taken Leo's leadership role. Raph makes a good beta turtle. :) I've been proud of him lately. It was interesting to see him be the hothead again, if only for a moment (when he pounded the guardrail/post thing in the water plant/mansion/new lair). It would still be nice for Raph and Leo to have an older/responsible brothers chat about how they've both been acting since Exodus. They could joke, and seriously talk about each of their hotheaded tendencies...now that Leo's "healed" enough to listen. And now that Raph understands more the worry/pressure/stress involved in being the leader of your own family, responsible for their lives. I hope they understand each other more/are closer after this...but I would.

Ok, did anyone else think "Daddy Leo" after he found them all? I mean, "Oh, we need to get you guys somewhere safe...you need to rest...here, I'll go and get food...don't worry about Raph, I'll find him...Karai? What, she's a threat? Don't worry about it, I'll get her. You just stay here and chill. No, don't worry about me, I can handle her. Oh, you want Chinese, and soda Raph? Sure, sure...as soon as I'm done infiltrating Foot HQ, I'll get right on that."

The Ep wasn't as impressive as I thought it would be....

Im really dissapointed that they lost their home and of Aprils reaction to the hole thing...

and Leo once again leaves karai unharmed ..... honestly what the hell??....

Leos above that. Besides, I think he got his point across without bloodshed.

I think they had Leo take charge of everything to show us how much he's changed, and how much more he's thinking about taking care of his family now, rather than obsessing over how he failed to do so then.

No kidding... if you need an in-character explanation, it's like the reality didn't really hit them cuz they didn't see what the others went through to escape. In the real world... avoidance of mush, I guess.

And I dunno... the guys kind of stood around awkwardly when they found each other, like "I really want to jump up and hug the stuffing out of you, but y'know, I'm supposed to be tough in the face of adversity and all that". Of course I'm thinking "Just hug him already! It's allowed! It's good for you!" Sheesh. :p

And, ok... I liked Leo's "Hello Karai. I got your message." Hehe. I just liked the way he said that!! Hee, I liked the attitude. "Oh yeah, you just tried to... oh, you know, completely ruin my life... but I thought I'd drop by and say hello. How've you been doing lately?"

My first warning sign was April's reaction... she shoulda been a little more... upset? *sighs*Denial? Fishing for an explanation beyond that they don't want to be overly mushy for some reason? :p

Anyway, the reaction was understated, but she had all these photos (family pictures, really) of the guys surrounding her on the desk: I thought that was pretty touching. I didn't realize she'd taken so many pictures of them all, doing silly things, being serious, just the kind of stuff you put in your family album. (she also had a little newspaper like a tabloid, with the headline "WHO ARE THEY", and a figure jumping roofs. That's a little alarming, that they've been seen like that. But I guess it brought some kind of comfort to her, since it was about them.) And she sounded so tired, like she'd been mourning them for awhile (it's probably been several days at the least, if not weeks, as someone said), and just kind of exhausted herself with it.

Angel's cleaned up her act in the last two eps she's been in, but she re-adopted her punk look to impersonate a pizza-delivery gal. I thought that was kind of an interesting touch. Although you'd think the holes for those piercings would have closed up by now... *shrug* You can cheat in animation. :D

The thing that was buging me is how the hell did Angel grow so tall so fast. I heard of growth sperts but I was like DAMN! someone has been eating there wheaties. lol.LOL, it's been three years, and she was almost a teenager, anyway. But I think it was more of an "it would be more convenient if Angel was this tall" animation cheat, or just failure to look at the height chart. :p

I felt it was a great episode. I agree with alot of you that it was too condenced. Damn time restriction.

I was surprised that Leo could see into the recent events of those that he focuses on. But no biggie. The series has alot of way out stuff go on in it, so why not allow Leo to be able to master some advanced mental disciplines? It's not much when you compare to a super-human who can fly *cough*Silver Sentery*cough*

I know that some people here are complaining that this episode made Leo shine like a beacon. Is that really so blasphemous? I mean really... For a long time, many people were slamming Leo for his cold attitude. Now the guy comes back all serene, he's helping his battered family, and being such a nice guy in the process yet some of you had to nitpick on something else. Nice. Some just don't seem to be happy with Leo in general.

I do relize that Leo does get alot of attention, and I really do want to see the others get more attention than they've been getting, but you all have to understand that Leo being the lead character (as it's been established since the first comic in 1984) is going to be inclined to get the most attention.
Really, I don't ever recall people complaining that Goliath from Gargoyles got too much attention, so I can't understand why people scorn Leo so much just because he plays his part.

Sorry for the rant but I felt it was justified to bring the Leo topic into a usually overlooked light.
Please don't feel insulted or threatened by my post.

Yep Like I've alllllways said, "Adventures of Leo"....

Best piece: Leo cutting the head of the statue and "STAY AWAY FROM MY FAMILY!!!!!!!!!"

I knew it was going to be a Leo peice. And Of course they all are alive. Predictable.

I'd have figured Raph would have ran to Casey's to hideout, unless he's on vacation? Or he didnt wanna bring the threat to him. Casey would have defended his best pal no matter.

My problem with the ep is this: Okay, Leo thinks his bros are dead...but good that he doesnt believe it and goes looking...he finds one, what...they dont even HUG? COME ON! They are family-four of a kind, Leo could have been the LAST of his species...what, brothers can't HUG on a )(@#*$ cartoon?!?!! Leo thought they were DEAD!? It's like 'jee hi* handshake* glad youre ok...lets go find the others.Raph hugged Donnie in SAINW..why not now?? Why do they start a cartoon really great, lots of emotion, artfully done, etc 4 seasons later is turning into droll emotionless dribble? They're losing it, I dont wanna see such a good cartoon go downhill. They should let US suggest some stories, we could put emotions back INTO the toon.

Reading others posts, im glad im not alone on this.

Jee Klunk's turned into a guard DOG...I never seen a cat protect his human..err in this case, turtle. Klunk's drawn funny, he looks like a Munchkin breed.

Why is Angel wearing the SAMN crap she wore when we first saw her? She's older, what her clothing grew with her??

April's reaction to learning of the turtles 'death' was ... like nothing. -.-

I think they're losing the drama and the family feeling...I dunno...I still like my show..I'm just afraid they're going down the wrong path for it.

Oh yeah..in all reality, Raph would wanna BEER...not a freaking soda....

not after all that they just went thru!

Two questions. Why does everyone think it's been a two-parter? Last week's was called "The scion of the shredder" and this last one was "The Prodigal Son". And about the preview, wasn't that April's uncle that got trapped in that Rubik's cube dimension thing? Augie, I believe his name was.

Are you from the school of "Everything has to have the same title to be a two parter" or something? A quick history lesson

1. Big Rip Off/Big Break In/Big Blow Out from the original series was a three part episode with differing titles

2. The five part mini-series was a...five part mini-series with differing titles

3. The "Far Across The Universe" arc consisted of seperate episode titles and one two part title as a whole

4. Various live action series have had multi-part episodes with different titles occupying them (X-Files, Deep Space Nine, Stargate)

I tend to zone out on the intro so I think I missed some of the new stuff in it...but nice touch! That's the kind of detail that really makes me love this show because it's totally unnecessary but they care enough to add it in anyway.

I was hoping for more depth with Karai but she's turned into the cheesy "I must have my revenge!" cliche. And was hoping for her not being such an easy defeat. I mean, she destroys the lair and then in 2 seconds Leo beats her? Bah. And if she's such a big villian to have opening credits changed for she should hold up better than that. The second chance thing was also annoying...again...HOME DESTROYED...she BELIEVED she'd killed all his brothers, I think it's a bit late for second chances.

Angel as pizza delivery was cute :D

Leo finding everyone was a little annoying, I was hoping the seperation would last a bit longer. Oh and the psychic-finding magic?! WHAT WAS THAT ABOUT. Blaaah, WAY too overpowered. I really really disliked that. Splinter doesn't do that stuff. I like the characters having weaknesses, having to PROBLEMSOLVE not just magically be able to do anything.

The reunion emotion was really lacking and I think that was writing issues.. the VAs did as good a job as they could with what they had. But geez, when Leo was hurt we've got tears from Raph and defensiveness from Don and etcetc. When we think the rest of the guys are DEAD, we get a pat on the shoulder?!

I second the idea of Bishop stepping up. Minus him revealing his plans, he's a GREAT villian and they've developed him in bits and pieces enough that it wouldn't be too abrupt a transition.

The new lair... wtf.. WHY IS THERE A CHATAEU OUTSIDE NEW YORK CITY? ...

Ryona

Yeah, I agree with all of you there. The emotions in this episode were REALLY lacking. Were the Hell are the bloody hugs? Why were they so formal? it was pretty distasteful. And I agree that the fight between Leo and Karai needed to be longer.

About the whole time between events, I'm betting that the Ancient One had a vision a month ago of what was going to happen. And I don't think the guys were seperated for too long. I'm sure that Leo arrived on the same night that the lair got trashed.

And, Buslady, believe me, some cats will hiss at strangers approaching them. I have a cat and he does that to just about everyone he's not familiar with. Also, cats do care for the people who take care of them and there's some who will try to ward off people who try to harm their master.

Oh, and, Zelda, there really isn't anything "magic" about the mental skill Leo was performing. If you read up on ninjutsu you'll see that it's not only comprised of physical disciplines. It has some pretty advance mental disciplines which can arguably be called psychic abilities. What Leo did was REALLY advanced though, but not impossible (especially for this series) for Leo to learn and master.
Something related to this is the time Splinter psychicly communicated with Leo in the first movie. The four of the boys then gathered together and were able to psychicly communicate with Splinter. If this was accepted by the fans, I don't see how people can't accept Leo learning an advanced psychic skill.

I agree. Besides, the show never said that what Leo saw is ACTUALLY what happened. I kinda took it as him building inferences on what COULD have happened based on the evidence he found. :)

I liked the episode very much. It was a bit rushed, but we have to live with the time restrictions. Good to see Leo back to his own self again and taking care of his family and injured master like he should.

There were a few details that disturbed me though:

First, the timeline was really messed up, at least I thought so. It looked to me that Leo left Japan at the same time when Karai attacked the lair, and in theis episode we see Leo finding frash tracks of the others...

How could he know where to look for the broken vehicles? I can understand about the tunneler (it leaves holes in the walls and it can be tracked down easily), but the submarine? It seemed to me that the underwater chase last week was quite long, so it must be very far away from the lair. And the truck? No one is cleaning those streets? Even the helmet stays on ground untouched.

How the foot didn't notice Raph's motorcycle jumping out the back of the truck? And on top of all, Raph stopped, looked back and then forced away. He was so easy to spot.

Anyone else found it strange that they have a big submarine possibly with space for all 4 turtles + Splinter + maybe Casey, April and so on, and yet they have ONE oxygen bottle inside?

And why didn't the turtles try to reunite, but had to wait for Leo to do it? I mean, couldn't Splinter do something like that? Or is Leo THAT better than Splinter now?

And was hoping for her not being such an easy defeat.

She's not particularly been that much of a tough opponent for Leo in previous battles ...

He was holding his own against her quite well (atleast for a while until she got him on the ground and threaten to stab him) in "City At War 02" she couldn't win against in him "Rogue In The House 02" (although that was probably because she was reluctant to kill him) and In "Exodus 02", she only managed to stab him with help from the Shredder.

True, but she must have improved to have taken down Splinter... and then for Splinter to out right tell Leo she's much more dangerous than before... Still, I find it a little disconcerting that he Ancient One was teaching Leonardo to be a better fighter and thus, in turn, become a greater fighter than Splinter. You'd think he'd have spent that two months working on his fractured mind and spirit and not his body and skills.

As far as the fight at the end being a bit on the short side... could have been worse in that regard. *I'm looking at you, Spike and Vicious.* Now there was a short final confrontation.

When Leo and Donatello discovered the water pump room, I thought to myself it couldn't possibly become the Turtles' new lair...So cold and uninviting, unlike their last home. Now I'm most interested in seeing how the Turtles will adapt to their new lair and how the series will play out from this new vantage point...

The series was about due for a little tinkering, anyway, so I'm glad the writers decided to do away with most of the old vehicles, gadgets, and move the Turtles into a fresh new location in Central Park. I believe this is the first time the series has seen such a monumental change, so not only was "Prodigal Son" a great episode, it definitely felt like a new beginning. When you think about it, there's nothing more sacred to a series like TMNT than their hideout; this is where most episodes start, where the Turtles come back after a long day in the city, where they train and where they figure out how to deal with all the new problems they might have encountered. It'll be very interesting to see how this damp, dark, metallic chamber evolves into the new "Turtle Lair", so to speak.

Not one of the best eps in terms of animation, though, and the whole thing seemed a bit too rushed for my tastes. Unlike most of you, however, I don't think there was anything wrong with Leo's reunions with the other three members of the quartet...I didn't sit there thinking, "God, why doesn't Leo hug the other Turtles!?" Quite frankly, I don't care wether they actually hugged or not. It all seemed perfectly fine to me, and it definitely didn't spoil the episode.

Oh, and to quote Ryona: "Really, I don't ever recall people complaining that Goliath from Gargoyles got too much attention, so I can't understand why people scorn Leo so much just because he plays his part."

Hehe, well, last time I checked it was called "Teenage Mutant Ninja TURTLES", not "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and Friends."

This episode was pretty good, but last week's was better. I wish the episode had more action and the fight scene with Leo and Karai was longer. This episode felt like it lacked the things last week's episode didn't lack. I felt the final fight scene was rushed and Leo coulda done more then just slice up Karai's helmet. The added things for the intro didn't really do anything for me or the episode so I'm not gonna deduct points for that. It felt kinda weak when Leo looked for his brothers and Splinter cuz all they really did was sit around and wait. They coulda done somethin' to pass the time. But hey, I'm glad Leo had flashbacks so he could find everybody. The new lair looks great and I hope it'll work out for the Turtles. I wonder how long it'll take the Foot to find the Turtles in their new lair? Playmates really oughta make a plaset for it though.

Since this episode wasn't as good as last week's, I give it a four out of five. I just hope next week's is better even though this one was above average. Anyways next week's looks like it'll be good and I hope Bishop shows up. I can hardly wait for that.

Oh man. Let's PLEASE not start another Leo argument... :|

People comlaining about Leo being "better" than Splinter... As I've said before, Splinter has made many references to his age this season. He's getting older, and slower. Growing out of his prime, maybe. Leo is still young and energetic. This would be the difference.

However, I really wish we could see some more kickbutt action from the other guys. This epsiode, I think they were too shaken from recent events to be ready to fight (I'm seeing it as the Ancient One had the vision several weeks before the attack, and Leo just missed it by a couple days. The other Turtles were so shellshocked by what happened that they could find the energy to do little else besides exist). So Leo, fresh off the boat and ready to unleash some havoc on Karai, goes. But the other guys better get some schweet screentime soon. Raph was acting more like his season 1 self this ep, I noticed...

As for Karai's relatively easy defeat? Maybe she's due for development as a villain. She's new at it right now... if she doesn't go toward the light side of the Force (which I don't think she will, for a while at least... they wouldn't change the theme otherwise), she can only improve with time. Even her dear ol' dad got better each time he fought the TMNT. Makes sense she'd start out with less skill, being several hundred years younger.

Might also be a case of Leo considering Karai his problem, all things considered. Bring Mikey, Don and Splinter, if they were fresh for a fight, might not have been a bad idea, but Raph? I'm not so sure that would work out to well as far as the messages Leo was trying to deliver to Karai. Moment Leo goes on about another chance for Karai to change I can just imagine Raphael would step in with something to say and then he and Leo could possibly degenerate into the arguments they had in City at War.

Okay -- brace yourselves for a non-sequiter review. I wrote this as I watched the episode through for the fourth time. By now, I think I have more fully-formed reasons for my reactions.

Places where they could have cut the expository dialogue:

As Leo is walking through sewers -- the visuals show us everything. We know precisely what is going through his mind by what we see. We don’t need to hear him speak until he says “You dare come into my home and do this?”

Why is this “better?” By holding off on the dialogue until Leonardo is attacked, we would be brought into the story through an action sequence -- which generally is a great way to open a movie or show, for that matter. Likewise, we needn’t hear him say “the foot” because it’s quite obvious what he’s thinking when he sees the emblem and narrows his eyes. The dialogue should pick up again when he says “My family -- where are they?!”

Also… I think it would’ve made more sense for the foot tech guy to die in the self-destruction. But that would be TOO dark.

The next sequence flows smoothly, the Angel-April “being sneaky” bit. Great, tense, and natural, for the most part.

Now, after Leo stabs the pizza box with his katana and pulls it to the roof... The best acting is “reaction.” And that was lacking the most in this episode -- I noticed it first here when Leo reacted to the note. There was something unconvincing in the way he threw the note in the wind and ran.

However, throughout this episode, I must say that the storyboards have been impressive. The use of shots is amazing -- cinematic, even.

It would have been a little less expository if Leo hadn’t been thinking out loud so much as we all saw the clues. All we needed to hear was that “all right, so much has happened… focus…” bit. And then, when he finished his psychic flashback, I think we could’ve done without the “these are their tracks and they lead to a shelter, blah blah…” Duh. We can see that quite clearly.

Leo shouldn’t have closed his eyes for so long when he said “all right, so much has happened…” At least, not with that uninteresting shot that locked us in on his face, which never changed. If he was going to keep his eyes closed, we should have seen more of his figure, so we can see the head-hanging and RE-action going on. If the camera was going to stay focused on his face, I think it would have been less awkward

Beautiful use of shadows in this episode, like when Leo enters the old structure where Don and Splinter are hiding.

Ugly reunion btw Leo and Don. OK script, good VAs -- I listened to it w/o visuals; it’s fine voice acting. BUT the character animation was awkward. They shook hands weakly and wistfully, and yet didn’t seem very connected -- almost like the animation was just a step up from rough -- not just here, but throughout the episode, like when Karai threw her hands and briefcase in the air and said “destroy them!!”

But I love the designs for the new place. Dark and shadowy and cool.

Go Klunk. That scene fully depicted the change that has come over Leo. Touching, the way he dealt with Klunk compared to the last time

Why did they have to give Mike something stupid to say? *oh well

I LOVED Raph’s motorcycle escape, how the lights trailed him

But Raph’s visual acting could have used gestures a little more… naturally. He was pretty stiff, as was Don, in his gestures, namely when he stood up straight after almost breaking down and touching Leo’s carapace… it was just… weird.

When Don greeted Raph, interesting how he kept looking off in the same direction for several moments as Raph walked right past him -- it was a little annoying to me. Characters are typically animated separately; the trick is to make that fact unnoticeable. But it stuck out here. Then, when Raph went over and poured his heart out, his motions were also stiff… Maybe I’m just getting picker the more I work on these things. The follow-throughs for the gestures were too symmetrical, inorganic, and in the end lacking weight in that “pissed Raph” sequence.

Best acting this episode has definitely got to be the expressions in eyes. Except for that part where Splinter smiled. He looked horny instead of happy with his eyelids lowered.

Mistake: Leo reacted to Splinter’s comment “And I can see (Leo turns head, no longer smiling) something else in your eyes” before Splinter was even through saying it. Kind of like thrashing your head back before the other guy even throws the punch. *oh well*

Interesting, so not only is Splinter aware of what Leo plans to do, but encourages it? Splinter trusts Leo that much. Big change.

I love the scene when Leo sneaks in -- great shots, one after the other after the other, good flow and tone. This whole sequence of Leo sneaks in and confronts Karai was definitely the highlight of the episode. It was tense, it was foil-filled, and Leo HUMILIATED Karai.

I don’t know if anyone else got this feeling -- Leo I think is deadlier than ever. Now that he has his emotions TRULY under control… Disturbing control, now. Like I said, this is the scariest element -- blood-chilling subtlety. He’s learned it. Great VA in this scene from Mr. Sinterniklaas --definitely get the sense that Leo is in control. The most powerful impression was the decapitation of the statue after he warns “STAY AWAY FROM MY FAMILY!!“ Watch out, Karai.

Finally… the most interesting thing I noticed was Karai’s expression as Leo left. Was she just sorry that she had failed her father? That Leo had humiliated her and Oroku Saki's image? Or did Leo's words, telling her she knew nothing of honor affect her? I wonder… If so… it shows that there may still be hope for Karai -- that she remains conflicted, which I think is far more interesting than a one-sided villain… well, unless said villain is Bishop, Stockman, or Hun.

Overall, an unusual episode. Some bits were weak, even annoying -- while other segments were outstanding. 7/10.

(Note to the Masked One: Oroku Saki Memorial Library was spelled correctly.)

Thanks for the in-depth review! Wow! I wish I had this on tape so I could look for all the animation weirdness. But from what I can remember, I agree... when it was acting rather than just fighting and stuff, it was kinda flat. Especially the reunion.

Best part of the epsiode: when Leo drops down and tells Karai "I got your message..." I like how that was staged, too. If only they hadn't had to make the fight sequence so short... but oh well.

And thanks, dude. It was a different angle from before (and therefore a different drawing) but I was glad it was just a typo last time. A typo that somehow made it through all the checkers... Ah well. :D

The thing that was bugging me is how the hell did Angel grow so tall so fast. I heard of growth sperts but I was like DAMN! someone has been eating there wheaties. lol.she looks the same to me...
I do enjoy them for what they are, which is why I was a little disappointed. I just think it didn't reach its full potential as those others did. Just after the episode finished I realized how much better it would have been if Don, Mikey, Raph, and Splinter had been a bit more excited to see Leo ... and live up to its title.
Nitpicky? Yes, But don't mistake it for me wanting a new SAINW or SSB every week.
I'm not saying you are but sure a heck of allot of people are and quite frankly I love this new show and the old one and heck just about anything else tmnt related...but we really just need to stop it...it's not gonna be like this or that or the bible it's the teenage mutant ninja turtles...the thing I keep saying is but everyone wants to keep ignoring is remember how Leonardo left his father and brothers yea he nearly killed splinter and was like foaming at the mouth and the boys where majorly ticked off at him! so I think the way they greated him was just fine....it seems everyone is forgetting what happend and why Leo was sent away....they were all still on there guard and I'm quite happy with the way they all acted towards him.

I'm really disappointed that they lost their home and of Aprils reaction to the hole thing...
And Leo once again leaves Karai unharmed ..... honestly what the hell??....
I'm not disappointed they lost there home because they always seem to...there always moving in this show and in the mirage comics....
But I will agree with you on April 100% she was acting extremely strange in the past 2 episodes...I was just like ooooook weirdo lol...
Well, Leonardo not killing or even harming Karai is for a reason it's a kids show.
hmm perhaps this fast forward thing will lead to them coming back to the present and that will be the new movie I'm sure I am more than wrong with that guess but what the hay right? lol
I think we all were. It saddens me that brothers who didn't know whether their siblings were alive/dead wouldn't hug upon reuniting. I mean, they did look really relieved/happy (especially Don & Raph), but I'm w/ you guys ... no hug? :-? No fair! ...Oh, & I was disappointed that (once again) we didn't get to see Leo cry.
Then you would be a bad writer because you would have forgotten all of the things he did to them and how he treated his father and brothers before he was MADE to go to Japan.
I agree with you 100% seems like most people around here are never happy with anything they do...and really if that's the case don't watch it just enjoy what you've got from past tmnt things....I mean sure I've done my bit of complaining but it's always sided with positive things also.
Yep Like I've always said, "Adventures of Leo"....
Best piece: Leo cutting the head of the statue and "STAY AWAY FROM MY FAMILY!!!!!!!!!"
I knew it was going to be a Leo piece. And Of course they all are alive. Predictable.
I'd have figured Raph would have ran to Casey's to hideout, unless he's on vacation? Or he didn't wanna bring the threat to him. Casey would have defended his best pal no matter.
My problem with the ep is this: Okay, Leo thinks his bros are dead...but good that he doesn't believe it and goes looking...he finds one, what...they don't even HUG?
Oh yeah..in all reality, Raph would wanna BEER...not a freaking soda....
wow buslady I'd never seen you complain so much ever lol....it's just cause you love good old Raph so much ;)
Well, for one they would not kill off major characters it is after all a kids show as much as we all want to forget that...
I agree with that so would have Leatherhead it's so weird those 2 have been out of the picture for quite a bit...
The emotion is fine in the toon considering what Leonardo did before...read what I wrote to the others who keep saying this....I think they did a fine job...
And I will agree I hate how Klunk looks...
Perhaps that's her favorite outfit many people especially teenagers like to wear the same outfits allot..she could also be poor considering she lives with her old grandmother...
Once again I will agree about April I don't know what her deal is.....
Very true but they can't do that once again in a kids show.....
Two questions. Why does everyone think it's been a two-parter? Last week's was called "The scion of the shredder" and this last one was "The Prodigal Son". And about the preview, wasn't that April's uncle that got trapped in that Rubik's cube dimension thing? Augie, I believe his name was.
it was a two parter because it started last week and was concluded this week...that's what made it a two part episode.
it had a begining last week but no end the end happend this week so there for it made it a 2 parter had it gone longer say till next week it would be considerd a 3 parter...and so on with each week it went on with no conclusion.
If this was accepted by the fans, I don't see how people can't accept Leo learning an advanced psychic skill.
yes especially since Donatello allready did this with Splinter when the Triceratons almost killed him....so it's nothing new...
Or is Leo THAT better than Splinter now?
yes that is an odd thing and not a very safe thing!
and to your other point...they had all been hurt I highly doubt any of them where about to try and regroup I'm sure they were also very scared to move since I'm sure they thought the foot was after them!

Oh man. Let's PLEASE not start another Leo argument... :|

I can't help but feel that was directed to me and only me. I can understand you're trying to be helpful by letting me know to back off and not start ****. But really, it's not helpful at all. By insinuating that just because I drop my two cents in here that this thread is going to Hell is not only insulting to me but also gets people believing that **** is going to fly just because of me. It's like "Oh no... Ryona is posting about Leo! There's going to be havoc and bloodshed! :o "

Not nice at all, Masked Ninja.

...And I'm quite sure that people are going to start viewing me as a bitch now (if they haven't already from ideas planted in their heads from previous times).

In comparison to last week's episode this one was very disappointing.

People comlaining about Leo being "better" than Splinter... As I've said before, Splinter has made many references to his age this season. He's getting older, and slower. Growing out of his prime, maybe. Leo is still young and energetic. This would be the difference.

I agree with you for the fighting - Splinter is definately not as fast as he was in Season 1 for example, when he could block Leo's two katanas only using his one hand with the walking stick, he could catch arrows in the air and dodge Shredder's attacks without problems. Of course Leo is young and has the power and energy to fight better and longer than Splinter.

But... if Leo, who is a teenager and still a student, could have visions of what happened to the others and know for sure that they are alive and where exactly they are, couldn't Splinter do it too? I mean come on, Splinter is so wise and experienced and this doesn't require physical strength to do. Plus we've seen Splinter prove that he possesses incredible mental power in numerous occasions, including the recent Bad Day episode. So in my opinion, Splinter should have known that Raph and Mikey are alright and even exactly where they are, don't you think? Even if he's afraid to go and search for them because of the Foot, he could have told Leo where they are...

I'm not sure Leo actually saw the events. I took it as he examined the situation in his mind then thought out a logical conclusion. I don't think any magic was involved and i don't see him using this technique again.

That I must agree with you on. Karai's VA lacked emotion. I mean, why the hell can't 4 Kids shell out some time to find new voice actors instead of using those same ones over and over.

Grey Delisle, Tara Strong, or Lauren Tom would be better choices for Karai.

What really got me with this episode was how all the TMNT jumped out of their vechile seconds before it got blown up...and how Leo got back from Japan so fast.

I didn't really take that as him having visions, but just deducing, from the evidence he had, what happened. It was his head-clearing that helped him accomplish things a lot easier. If he did have visions, I'll assume The Ancient One taught him how to receive them. After all, The Ancient One did have visions of The Shredder attacking Leo's family.

Anyway, this episode was a pretty good follow-up to last week's episode! I'm glad Leo returned, I just wish they didn't give him the title of "the Prodigal Son", I thought that would be Donny's title... but he only had that title in an alternate future. Anyway, I guess the Turtles have yet another lair. I was actually used to the one they already had, it felt more homey.

Anyway, the fight was pretty good... I didn't expect it to look so one-sided, though. Anyway, it was nice to see Karai get owned by being defeated and spared her life so she can feel the shame from her defeat... and then witness the head from Oroku Saki's statue get decapitated. Ouch... just insult to injury, right there!

Leo: "Oh, and Karai... Stay away from my family!" *decapitates Oroku Saki statue*

^ That should've been a quote.

Good episode!

*blinks* What, am I the only one who likes Karai's voice actor? :p I like the accent, and I think the lack of really strong emotion kind of fits the character. She's made herself so numb to pain, and she's had to hide her emotions from her father for so long, her ability to express them audibly is impaired.

Still, I find it a little disconcerting that he Ancient One was teaching Leonardo to be a better fighter and thus, in turn, become a greater fighter than Splinter.I don't think his physical skill is any better than before... it's his mind that's more developed now. He had lots of reasons to be furious at Karai, but he was quite calm when he faced her. A clear mind lets him fight more efficiently, but not necessarily better.

I thought to myself it couldn't possibly become the Turtles' new lair...So cold and uninviting, unlike their last home.
I know, they're going "Wow! Nice place!" and I'm going "it's a pumping station. It's utilitarian, it's dark, it looks cold, what are you gonna do with it?!" I'm sure they'll fix it up nice, but the initial look seemed kind of uninviting to me.

Also… I think it would’ve made more sense for the foot tech guy to die in the self-destruction. But that would be TOO dark.*nods* That is the traditional thing to do when one says something like "You won't get anything from me!". It kind of threw me. I guess it would have been better if he hadn't said that before running off.

Perhaps that's her favorite outfit many people especially teenagers like to wear the same outfits allot..she could also be poor considering she lives with her old grandmother...Like I said, I think it was more of a disguise... she hasn't worn any jewelry or leathery stuff since "Fallen Angel"; she was dressed much more sensibly in her other two appearances. This outfit is kind of her "rebel" look, which lent itself well to the role of "pizza-delivery gal who doesn't care".

I forgot to mention.... did karai change the shade of her lipstick?? she did look a little different......Yes! (I mentioned that earlier in one of my posts) I thought it was very striking. I could call it symbolism, and say it shows that she's becoming bolder.

But... if Leo, who is a teenager and still a student, could have visions of what happened to the others and know for sure that they are alive and where exactly they are, couldn't Splinter do it too? I mean come on, Splinter is so wise and experienced and this doesn't require physical strength to do.But I'm sure he's emotionally exhausted after that ordeal, and that's got his mind scrambled. It does supposedly take a lot of strength for that sort of thing, and he used it all up just escaping the Foot and finding his way to shelter with Don.

What really got me with this episode was how all the TMNT jumped out of their vechile seconds before it got blown up...and how Leo got back from Japan so fast.Yes, agreed. That's why I wanted Leo to find at least one of them still trapped in the wreckage. I vote Mikey, because the Tunneler hit was still the most likely to leave someone alive. Even if Raph's escape was the most implausible. I wish I could convince myself that Raph could have survived that without escaping, otherwise, I'd pick him. It'd also make for an interesting juxtaposition of "Tales of Leo."

And I still think the Ancient One had his vision sufficiently in advance that Leo could get there a few days after the incident. If only boats weren't so slow...

His fighting skills looked like it improved a bit from the training in Japan.

He took on that Foot Tech in the Robo Suit without any trouble. And he pretty must owned Karai near the final scene.

Plus that Telepaphic power thing can be very useful to solve things.

I'm sure it was an error. Donnie didn't really go through anything that would injure him to that extent.

Michaelangelo seemed a little bit injured when Leonardo found him, he had to support him while he walked. Donatello wasn't injured and niether was Raphael. I notice that there are a few times when Donatello just leans on his bo nonchantly as crutch when he is just standing around or something. When he isn't injured.

And to be really serious people, I don't think Leonardo has some how attained some mystical power that enables him to have visions of events that have just happned. I think he was just thinking abstractedly and peicing together the puzzel of what had happnede to his brothers and how they escaped. The Vision of what happende wasn't what Leonardo was physically seeing, that was just put their for our benifit, so that we the audiance can understand and see what actually happened to them. So that we are not going WTF, when Leonadro finds them all so easiley.

And, am I the only one who didn't think that Leonardo was acting demi God like? I didn't think that he was acting like a super Leonardo at all. In fact I thought he was acting more like his old self, but with a little more focus.

Ok, if we assume that Leo wasn't having visions, but the creators used this as a way to show what really happened to the Turtles, one question remains - how did Leo find the 3 broken vehicles? As I mentioned, the tunneler would have been an easy deal because of the holes in the walls, but what about the submarine and the truck?

Leo must have noticed they were missing. He saw that the sub was gone so he did the most logical thing and went under the river to find it. He noticed the battle shell was gone so he followed the tire tracks.
