Not exactly brand new news, but I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere so I thought I would. This is probably the dumbest thing I have ever seen. The funny part is no one from Sony is denying it. People are ragging on Nintendo for delaying Zelda and Microsoft for the 360 shortage....but this just takes the f*cking idiocy cake. Lets have a show of hands from anyone would plans on spending over $900 US for a videogame console. I've read around a couple forums and a lot of people are saying "Well, whatever. They'll just sell it lower." If the console is going to take that much money to manufacture, they can't lower it by any substantial amount. Even with a $100 price cut it doesn't look appealing. Completely stupid.

I heard about this...
$900 to Make a PS3... Either it'll cost an arm and a leg... or theyre going to take a Serious loss. Either way, people are going to hype them up like CRAZY...
It makes me wonder how Microsoft and Nintendo will use this to their advantage...
I'm seriously starting to wish I didn't drop $400 for a 360 but I'll change my mind when Oblivion and Gears of War are finally released. But I'm not paying anywhere near $900 of a freaking console. Even if it sells for as low as $700 I don't plan on getting one. Freaking Idiots over at Sony need to start thinking things through!

God DAMN! Jesus, if the stock has fallen, there must really be something to this. Sweet mother.....3.2% is a big damn number for Sony to drop. They are in some really deep sh*t with the PS3 at this point.
E3 will bring the ultimate price answer. Weither Sony or the consumer takes the brunt of the cost, they are completely screwed. Nintendo and Microsoft have a golden opporuinity to stab the beast in the heart here.

Xbox 360 and Revolution for me it is since I assume a PS3 will cost more then the price of those two combined. Plus 360 will still have RE 5 and Dead Rising ^_^ DMC 4 can wait....or it can suck so I have no purpose to buy a PS3....espcially at that price. Atleast buying one will be easy cause who the hells gona be able to afford something that expensive...

Honestly, Sony will likely stall until Spring NEXT year to keep costs down, and they still have a Final Fantasy to squeeze out of PS2's lifespan.
Think about it. They planned this all along. PS2 is hardly near done. It hasn't even had it's $99 price drop.......or it's $129.95 price drop. That will sell millions more units. They never planned to launch PS3 this year. They were just trying to stall a few on the fence Holiday shoppers with rumors. Looks like MS is getting a bigger headstart than they first thought, and looks like Nintendo is launching 2nd afterall by possibly a safe margin.
This is gonna be a helliva long generation. I hope these machines are future-proof.
We can only hope man
We can only hope
*looks symbolicly into the future where the PS2s have taken over everyone's brain, so that man and machine have become one, and all of this is being controlled by a human/machine which was once a fat kid and a Dawson's Creek Trapper Keeper all the way over in a small mountain town in Colarado*
... *cough*

PS3 price is gonna be insane! As much as I want a ps3, the ps2 is still good to get..
Kingdom hearts 2 comes out this month so ps2 is still kicking.
