where was savanti from?

In the episode return of savanti part 1, I recall the name but what episode did he take part in?

He was originally in the episode "Time Travails" from Season 3. I also think that was the only other episode with Renet in it, but I'm not sure.

Oh. You know the show never gets a repeat so it's hard to see where he's from. I only see new episodes once and that's it..

Teletoon has ninja turtles but they are stil in some early episodes..

Did anyone notice that the first part of the episode took place at the museum of natural history in NYC? What really impressed me was how faithfully the artists reproduced the detail and floorplan of the actual museum! For those who haven't been there, there is indeed a room with a huge model of a blue whale suspended from the ceiling - very impressive. And off to the side in a separate part are the dinosaur skeletons. I checked some photos I took there 2 years ago and was surprised to see that even the light fixtures in the dinosaur room were correct!

It was very easy to forget Savanti since he got overshadowed by Ultimate Draco. He never really got a chance to shine in that episode.

Yea, I had to re-watch the episode just to remember who he was. He could be a real cool character though

I do not think that we know where he comes into play before the Time Travails episode. It is apparent that he was sent to the 14th century but we do not know entirely know.

Savanti Romero originated in the comics. He first appeared in TMNT Vol. 1, #8 and then in Tales of the TMNT Vol 1 #7 (which Savanti Returns is based on....with slight differences...like the message being in the bones of a Velociraptor instead of a T-Rex), but alas he was not defeated because he returns in TMNT Vol. 1, #46 & 47

In TMNT Vol 1 #42 his wife, Juliet (yea...she's evil) appears to take revenge on her husband's defeat from Tales 7.....So maybe we'll see Juliet?... *thinks* Romero and Juliet?! Oh lord....:roll:

Too ambitious and arrogant, he once tried to turn the tables on his master by "editing out" Simultaneous out. For his actions he was sentenced to death by the Council of the 79th Level, a sentence which was commuted to a lifetime banishment to 1406 A.D. As an added punishment, Lord Simultaneous changed his form into that of a demonic-like being.

I just knew Savanti Romero because he was my second favorite villain from the early Mirage comics.

It's worth noting that the 1406 date given in Savanti's first appearance (V1 #8) is a Cerebus time designation. I'm not sure, but I think this Issue took place before the big Cerebus reveal at the end of Church and State. At the end of that storyline, Cerebus speaks with the Man on the Moon, who walks him through the History of the Universe. It turns out that Cerebus lived in a civilization that occured *before* modern history. Long before the early Egyptians and Greeks, more akin to the mysterious culture that created Stoen Henge, around 12,000 years ago. So 1406 is not "A.D."... it's the current year as far as the people of Cerebus' time were concerned. It'd be akin to 10,000 B.C. or thereabouts by our reckoning.

For his actions in #8, Simultaneous sent him even further back in time, to the Cretaceous Era, over 65 million years ago... a *lot* further away than even Cerebus' time. We see the results of this in Tales #7, when he calls the Turtles and Renet to his time, and is destroyed by an energy bolt.

Sadly, this fitting end to the character was undone in V1#46 and 47, where he explains that he merely fell into a temporal stasis, and evetually awoke in Feudal Japan, anywhere from 1185-1694 A.D. (for real this time). While the bad explanation is unforgivable, the story that results is probably one of the best in Vol 1 since Return to NY (25 issues previous... really, Issue 45 is where Vol 1 got back on track, and stayed there).
