This time I'm not joking. Japan has outlawed the resale of old-school gaming machines created before 2001 as of two weeks from now. They claim it is to protect people from electrical fires, but we all know (and the public knows) it is to promote the sale of retro games on next-gen download services. Even the Dreamcast has been axed. They just killed the retro gaming world in Japan. :cry:

To hell with thost fu*kers. *shudder* Imagine if that ever happened here. :dead: :o :cry:

One thing is for sure. You want a Famicom or import Saturn, get it now. Tons of them are going to be trashed soon because they can't be sold. Goddamn, I can't even hardly type that.

What I want to know is does this apply to the games too. That is really pathetic though. To prevent fires? How does it prevent fires? I guess I'd better get a FDS real quick.

They won't trash them, they will sell them to websites who will sell them to the US at jacked up prices.

Good point Spitfire. And, Japan has tried six times since 1990 to ban the resale of games without suscess, but they're still trying.
