View Full Version : Good Genes

Just checked Yahoo for the April 1st ep....it's called Good Genes. Just don't have a darned clue what it's about.... but there's several possibilities:
1: April's family (there's just GOTTA be a reason for introducing Robyn....)
2: The Intro of Cody (course that would mean it's the Season finale)
3: More of Casey's relatives show up (We've seen his mom, dad, and cousin...)
4: Baxter gets a new body
5: More mutants....

Uh no...Robyn first showed up in City at War. She was recently divorced with a young son. April moved to California and lived with her for a time.
...there's several possibilities:
...
4: Baxter gets a new body
Baxter: *comes in all Darth Vader-like* Keesh....yes...I have a new body! Keesh, keesh
Me: :o NOOOOOOOO!!!! *gets out a fold up chair and starts killing Stockmen*
Oh well...At least we get to see the rest of Casey and April's family :D And not to mention Cody. And more mutants! :thyper: Just the two facts that there might be a chance of seeing Cody and more mutants is enough to get me excited at the very least :rolling:

yea exactly I know this and all robyn did was fight with april...and then april told roybn to grow up...then robyn told april not to talk to her in her house like that...
oh well this is also coming from the guy who recalls Rennet not always being an idiot which she isn't...not all the time anyway...

Why did they change the lyrics to the theme song? I personally like the new theme, just curious the reasoning behind it.

They changed it so that it applies to what's going on in the storyline. Don't get used to the current theme since they'll be changing it in September to whatever the Fast Forward theme is *sings* Living...fast forward....

Well, it might show Donnie trying to fight the monster inside of him or something...either that or reaking havoc on the city

But hey...at least one part of my theory about this ep still stands.... Baxter's getting a new body. :P
Baxter's getting a new body. :P
I think he already got his new body in Adventures in Turtle Sitting. Now he only needs to grow flesh on it :P
Yep that's true :P
Cuz they like to torture you Aussies!
That's true also
To be truthful, the movie "V is for..." is being relased over here at the end of this month. And how long has that being screened in the good ol' USA? Two weeks? *cries and goes off to hold John Howard hostage in order to get movies/shows released at the same time all over the world*

That was an enjoyable episode, though that small interlude with the Foot Clan seems to show that Karai hasn't even changed slightly since Prodigal Son. Which makes me wonder what point there was for Leo to confront (from a writer's standpoint). It changed nothing and in some ways made the episode rushed just to get to that point. Perhaps their first meeting since Exodus should have been left for next week.
Still, I think I can see where this is going. Turtles steal the Heart of Tengu for Bishop, the Mystics return to working for the original Shredder(s) -since they apparently had no love for Oroku Saki as this episode made quite clear- and the TMNT and Karai find themselves uneasy allies against the Shredder creatures the Ancient One spoke of in A Tale of Master Yoshi.
Still, I'm not quite sure how a mystic artifact that so far does no more than control the Foot Mystics can cure a virus, but we shall see. On the other hand, I do wish Bishop would go back to his Season 3 self. Perhaps I'm just an action junkie, but I've been looking forward to Agent Bishop getting into a brawl just as good as the one in Hun on the Run, but he seems to have left all his skill behind for the weapons in that armor he's been sporting lately.
Why did they have to skip such an important episode? I'd have rather missed out on Tales of Master Yoshi. They haven't made references to it. I'm not misisng any story. Now I already know the shock of how 'Insane in the Membrane" ends.
I'm very interested to see what the original shredder is/was/will be. TMNT is getting crazy. These are the most exciting episodes all season, too bad it will end soon.

The wait for Gameradon certainly wasn't in vain. This is great stuff. Poor Donnie you have to really feel sorry for him. I liked how Splinter calmed him down, it made me remember that one moment in the invasion when he called out to Splinter.
The Donnie/Leatherhead fight was pretty good. Short but good. Bleh 4kids always hyping up stuff. :P It should have been a little longer. Oh but poor Leatherhead that's terrible what happened to him. At least one of my questions was answered, they performed a vivisection on him. Definitely an important character development episode for him as well. I hope he eventually finds peace.
Oh but it's killing me! Why exactly is Leatherhead on Earth still? Does he choose to be with the turtles? Or does he choose to isolate himself from his family, the Utroms, for fear of hurting them?
Great episode. I really liked how they had the interlude with Karai and how we were shown that the Mystics had no respect for Oroku Saki. They referred to an ancient master. Who could this be? Could they be referring to the Shredder creatures in Japan? Perhaps Oroku Nagi? Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Karai, still clad in Shredder armor, demanded that the Foot Mystics locate Leonardo so she may exact her revenge. Much like Bad Day, the Mystics mentioned how she had no respect for their abilities. However, this time they made mention that she was no different from Oroku Saki, even mentioning that they knew he was an Utrom. Anyway, they said (going from memory here) that she and Oroku Saki were insults to the original Shredder's legacy or something like that. Knew I should have taped the episode...
I'm guessing Karai already knew her father wasn't the first Shredder, since she didn't even react to the comment.
Of course, this leads to the question as to what the original Shredder is... a long lived human, perhaps a demon...
Something tells me the forthcoming episode entitled The Ninja Tribunal is going to be rather a rather Karai centric episode and reveal more about the Legacy of the Shredder and reveal just what those creatures the Ancient One spoke of a while back.

Maybe he's here explicitly to work on the "mutant outbreak" problem with Donnie.
*sigh* Donnie. They're milking the angst, and I'm lovin' it.

Tokka... you're my hero. :tlol:
Seriously NICE episode. When this comes out on DVD, I'm getting it. Unless they're stupid enough to split up the Don mutates/Good Genes arc. Then I will sic 38 dingoes to eat their babies. :P
The writing is nice - all the emotion!... animation was well-executed... and the colors! The colors for the night scenes seemed really well-chosen to me. Heck, probably overall. And Leatherhead's new voice is starting to grow on me, I think. I like the old one better, but this is OK.
And where previous epsiodes seemed mis-paced (if that's a word...), going too slow or seeming to be trying to cram too much into one episode... this was a lot better. Fast-paced, but not constantly trying to throw too much story at us.
Only problem is... I had a bunch of people come in the room, talking... so I missed that entire last scene... starting around where Leatherhead starts having his flashback. *pats croc's head sympathetically*
Could anyone with the episode taped give me the script from that last part? Obviously Bishop said something that made the Turtles go D: ... but I missed what led up to it.

When Bishop asked Baxter if Don could be cured, it look like Baxter shook his head "no" but Bishop told the turtles he could cure him anyway. Did Bishop lie to the turtles to get the goods from Karai, or did Baxter actually shake his head "yes" and I was just imagining him saying no.
Jester

No, Stockman said "no", Bishop just plans to use the turtles. Maybe baxter will be kind hearted enough (I know, quite a stretch, but who knows.) to actually work to a cure, I'm really looking forward to the next episode, it's bound to kick serious butt, even if it's your basic "storm the enemy compound" episode they seem so fond of.

Well let's see, Bishop is manipulative, he gets what he want's by any means necessary, and he loves torturing the Turtles. I'm sure he really meant what he said...
Anyway, great, emotional episode. Did anyone else kinda shed a tear when Leo had to shoot Don to subdue him. I have a feeling that Ninja Truibunal is gonna be a really big episode.

This was an interesting ep in that we learned that No Heart is interested in helping Bishop, who's name is John. Hopefully Baxter will find the cure for both Don and the Minnetonke guy.
Altho what the most interesting part is that we find out that Saki wasn't the original Shredder...that there was one before that.
I just wish they'd stop refering to the events in the ep they skipped...*sighs*....
I did some research on the name John Bishop:
There's an actor, there's an Ophthalmologist, a martial arts expert (Kajukenbo), The Director of Video Lab for the School of Arts and Architecture at UCLA, a musician, an elementary school (John A. Bishop Elementary), Bishop John Fisher (aka John of Rochester...he's uh a patron Saint..), a music group here in Seattle, Associate Professor
School of Biological Sciences in Vancouver, a lawyer in Bremerton, WA....

Great episode! Poor Donny...I guess the writers chose Don to be mutated instead of Raph so the turtles would have to go to Bishop. I'm guessing the artifact that Karai has is the Heart of Tengu (or is it Star) which enables her to control the Mystics. WTH!!! There is A SHREDDER!! :o Why can't Bishop go get it himself; why send the turtles! I can't believe Leo made a deal with BISHOP!! He's already usedthat "I know it's a deal with the devil, but we got no choice" excuse when they teamed up with Karai. I hope he has a real pan behind teaming up with Bishop cause that is just insane. They should go all medival on Bishop (LH mostly:evilgrin: ) and force him to change Don back!! I am so not missing any new episodes!! I can't even guess what is in store for the turtles

*pries self off ceiling*
Wow... lots of stuff going on in this one. Got me a little emotional in several different directions, so pardon my ranting... ;)
Poor Leatherhead! Looks like the vivisection theory pans out... :dead: (Oh... Doppleganger already said that. Well, me too!) Man, that was horrible... poor guy just looked at the place and had a mental breakdown.
I was a little annoyed that they gassed Donnie just after Splinter tried to calm him... I felt like he may have gotten through to him if he'd been given a little more time. Probably not, but it was worth a try.
*sniffle* And poor Donnie! The monologue at the beginning with Leatherhead was good.. the "one of the gentlest souls I've ever met" threatened to make me all fan-girlish. Hooo... and he almost got himself killed. However, the visual of when Splinter tried to calm him again, and he pauses, and seeing Raph dangling from his arm, so completely uselessly, made me kinda chuckle. And poor Leo had to so over-trank him to get him down..
John Bishop. The guy has a first name. I don't know why that seemed significant to me. And who is this ghostly figure? He's not one of those mystery entities the Ancient One spoke to: his voice is different, and no Japanese accent. But "We've been watching you", "We see all?" Hello?! And this gem... I hope it's not the Heart of Tengu. That could be bad for Karai's health...
Karai! RRRRGH! This is driving me bananas! Snap out of it, woman! I thought she'd be having second thoughts since her last confrontation with Leo! What is UP with this?! Leo got help from the Ancient One, but she's just sitting there, stewing in her confusion and guilt, and going completely insane. She needs help! I can't believe they made us sit through a whole season without resolving this! And next season sounds like it won't even HAVE most of the cast in it at all! Maybe they'll at least tell us about a reconciliation, I hope I hope..
And the reaction from the Foot Mystics was not encouraging... and why did they say they served the Shredder, then called Ch'rell an abomination, in the same sentence? What does THAT mean? (Oh, okay... I didn't actually understand what he said, only something about serving the Shredder, and then "Utrom abomination". Thanks for clearing that up...) Did the Shredder really exist before Ch'rell did, and he ursurped the role or something..? The entities in Japan really gave me that feeling, given their looks. Wow, this is getting SO strange..
I liked Baxter's attitude. The whole "I wanted to die, but NOOOOOO!" attitude is great, and funny, although a little sad all the same. I don't know when they're planning to cram "Insane in the Membrane" into the airing schedule...
So the guys and Karai will have a confrontation again next week... *cries* And something bad is gonna happen, with the Mystics... if they do something bad to Karai, I'm gonna freak. :|
Perhaps their first meeting since Exodus should have been left for next week.I know.. the confrontation in "Prodigal Son" seemed so pointless, especially when she looked so thoughtful at the end of it.. she seems to have abandoned thought again.
The Donnie/Leatherhead fight was pretty good. Short but good. Bleh 4kids always hyping up stuff. It should have been a little longer.*shrugs* I'd hoped it'd be short. I'm really not much into watching clawed and toothed hulking guys beating each other up. (LOL, so says the Gargoyles fan...) Of course the preview would make it seem like that was the whole ep, to make it exciting... fortunately there was more to it than that. :p
Oh but it's killing me! Why exactly is Leatherhead on Earth still? Does he choose to be with the turtles? Or does he choose to isolate himself from his family, the Utroms, for fear of hurting them?Probably the latter. They're kinda fragile... of course, they have the Gaurdians, but still, it'd be painful for Leatherhead if he hurt someone.
Perhaps she knows she's wrong but is unable to let go of her anger. Some people have a hard time letting go.
Sounds like someone needs a meeting with the Ancient One.*nodnods* Yes please!! http://www.geocities.com/jafarnut/blink.gif

I'm suddenly hearing Leonardo's voice, all sarcastic, coming out of a skinny, purple-haired guy.
Michael Sinterniklaas (Leonardo) voices Riven. He's a hothead, doesn't really like to show his emotions, is a loner and is very sarcastic. His GF is Musa, she's the same way. Musa's father is voiced by Cam Clarke.
Frank Frankson (Raphael) voices Brandon, squire of Prince Sky. He's Stella's BF. Brandon is a bit like Michelangelo.
Dan Green (Gen, Mortu) voices Prince Sky, The Leo of the group. He's also the current VA of Knuckles on Sonic X (Frank Frankson was the original VA)
Anyway, great, emotional episode. Did anyone else kinda shed a tear when Leo had to shoot Don to subdue him.
No actual tears here, but there was definitely a sharp intake of breath at that scene.
It was chilling when Bishop opted to kill Don rather than risk damage to his precious facility, and Leo had to plead with him in desperation. I stand by my initial reaction-- holy crap, what a nightmare!
Give me just five minutes.
You've got two.
Gratuitous science:
Dr. Stockman's retrovirus babblespeak/theory was absurdly plausible. Bravo to the writers who do it like they do on the Discovery Channel. (Virology was one of my favorite classes ever! So awesome! Squee! *runs off to review old notes*)
Stockman's scientific method continues to puzzle me, but I'll chalk that up to the workings of a mind that is brillian beyond my understanding. ;)
The babblespeak about the Don still having Secret Ooze Stuff floating around his bloodstream was interesting too, but in terms of non-alien-influenced science it didn't make as much sense to me. :ohwell: That fact could have interesting health consequences for the turtles. I wouldn't be surprised if Don's unshakable cold had actually been a common cold, and not some odd result of the Secondary Mutation, as they're calling it. It may have just been that his immune system was weakened. *ahem* (I think someone may have suggested this before? My memory is terrible.)

Squee! *runs off to review old notes*)*blinks* I'm glad someone enjoys that kind of thing... makes my brain hurt just contemplating it. I like some science, but others I'd rather just relegate to science fiction (the 'Why/how does so-and-so happen? I dunno, but it does...' approach), or to people who know what they're talking about. :p Still, good that the writers can pull it off convincingly, even for scientific-types. :)
Stockman's scientific method continues to puzzle me, but I'll chalk that up to the workings of a mind that is brillian beyond my understanding. ;)

I did think sneezing and sniffling was an odd side effect that had very little to do with turning into a hulking beast. ;) I guess it's a miracle of Utrom science that the guys have been stable enough to make it to the age they are, and not killed off the first time someone sneezed near them... kind of a sobering thought. :ohwell: I just want to know why it was so long before the physical change happened... maybe also something to do with the Utrom ooze.

Dan Green (Gen, Mortu) voices Prince Sky, The Leo of the group. He's also the current VA of Knuckles on Sonic X (Frank Frankson was the original VA)Wow. They *do* use their voice actors a lot! That really reminds me of so many pairs of 80's cartoons (by the same studios) I used to watch that had the same voice actors, and how weird it was to hear. I guess it's fine, it's just hard to switch gears mentally and not hear another character when they're speaking, unless they're really versatile (and even then... I can spot one of Frank Welker's many voices just about anywhere. They always sound just a liiiittle bit like some other character I know he voiced :p).

Anywho, I worked all day, so I have to watch this, and then I'll voice my comments. Though I've already read too much and 'spoiled' myself too much. Bah. Ah well, my own fault.
Hehe. ;) :)
I guess it's a miracle of Utrom science that the guys have been stable enough to make it to the age they are, and not killed off the first time someone sneezed near them... kind of a sobering thought. :ohwell: I just want to know why it was so long before the physical change happened... maybe also something to do with the Utrom ooze.
Given that they started off as earthlings, I wouldn't suppose they'd have to depend totally on Utrom Sci-Fabulousness for their health. But based on what they said in this ep, it may have helped. (Not that Sci-Fabulousness isn't a given for the TCRI agent.) And maybe the original TCRI agent introduced some kind of "Tamper Proofing." The delay in Don's transformation seems to have been due to resistance from the TCRI agent (possibly Don's chelonian/mutant immune system). And that kind of delay is not uncommon.
The upshot is Don has "warring halves." :P With lots of collateral damage for the turtle in the crossfire. I bet it hurts... no wonder he's so mad. I think I already know why this episode is called "Good Genes," but I will keep that to myself! Selfish me!
And are you kidding me? Viruses are nature's crazy little ninja-pirates. Invisible, wanton, and destructive... they have a few uses, but they can turn on you at any moment. Totally, totally awesome. Main reason I'm not a virologist is I am absolute crap at all aspects of biochemistry.

I kinda meant that it could have been that any bacteria or whatever they'd get would mutate also, and turn into this hideous fatal disease. But I like this too..
I think I already know why this episode is called "Good Genes," but I will keep that to myself! Selfish me!Hmm. If you're thinking what I think you're thinking, I've thought that, too. ;) Would be weird, though, given what they were seeing with the cell breakdown.

Ooo... I think that it would only be hideous and fatal to the rest of us non-Oozees. Luckily, TCRI Ooze is apparently smart enough to know the difference between germs and turtles. And rats. And alligators. Unless it really unleashed some superbugs on the world at the same time. omg... Ebola! :x ...kidding.
Actually, if that were true I think the TMNT would be walking bioweapons factories surrounded by an unlimited supply of germy raw material. :tdead:

Are you pondering what I'm pondering? :D
That probably depends whether what you're pondering involves a guitar and purple chaps.

It was a cool episode. I like Mikey's reaction to Area 51.
Also cool that the TMNT have their own TurtleCopter thanks to Don before the mutation.
And got to see Leatherhead's reaction to the torture room which he's been there before.
I give it a 5/5. Next week it's back to Foot HQ! And this time their facing Karai Shredder and not Saki Shredder.

Awesome episode, of course I can't wait for next week's.
And I have the feeling they won't ever show insane in the membrane ever.

Why? May I ask WHY I can not see such a holy episode?
Ah well :ohwell: It sounds very intreaging, and the Mythic Ninjas don't seem to happy. Mutany, anyone?

A few things I noticed while making screen shots:
We saw a full length view of the new lair for the first time:

After rewatching the ep tho something occured to me.... Where did Don get all those resources to build the landing pad that comes out of the fraking water??? Seriously! He did that all by himself?! :o

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y72/Dierna/TMNT/GoodGenes1/helipad1.jpg
And how did ghosts from Scooby Doo get involved in all this??
Seriously here's an image of the Phantom Shadows from the Scooby Doo ep "A Night Of Fright is No Delight" in a comparison with the whatever it was that John Bishop was talking to.

Rhoh :o
Yeah, you're right. It comes right out of the water *tilts head*
I love the new lair though. Really trendy and kinda Japanese based too, if I dare say so :P

Hey
First of all thank you very much Raph's Girl. Thank to your tipp i was able to see the new episode on the day it aired in USA! For that you do deserve a big HUG! ;-) (I'll contact you on dc++ soon ;-)
Comment to your post:
I can see just only one picture of the TMNT ghost, cause 95mb.com says, they doesn't accept a hotlink...
And I did LOVE the old layer and in my heart it was the most horrible episode ever as that one was destroyed...
Also I think the makers of the cartoon should provide an explanation from where the TMNT get all the money for their equipment...
See you soon.

No joke. Where do they get all of the money for all of that stuff? Do they steal? Well, ninjas are stealthy.
As for this episode, I'm glad that they are tying together Bishop and The Foot. I do have questions though that I hope the writer's will answer soon.
1. Who is the mysterious figure that appears to speak with Bishop?
2. "You are a pretender. Just like the Utrom abombination before you." and "You are not our master. We serve the Shredder." Or something like that. So why would they call their old master an abombination? Sounds like Ch'rell did in fact assume the identity of Oruku Saki a thousand years ago. That's just a theory of mine.
3. What exactly will the heart of Tengu do for mysterious figure? And what will the mysterious figure provide to Bishop in exchange?
A lot of questions to answer. And with only 4 episodes in the season left, hopefully we get them soon. How will this all play with Fast Forward? Maybe it won't play. Maybe it will connect with the Lost Season we are going to get on DVD in the Fall. Man oh man, the speculation is endless!
After rewatching the ep tho something occured to me.... Where did Don get all those resources to build the landing pad that comes out of the fraking water??? Seriously! He did that all by himself?! :o
Hahaha.... honey I spend so much of every episode giggling over all the stuff Don builds!!!
I think, despite what we're shown, his brothers MUST have at least basic mechanical skills. I mean, let's generously say about 6 months have passed in the show since the old lair was destoyed (not counting the 3 months in dinoland). In that time, Don has wired the entire lair for electricity (and yes, Mikey, you can plug in the TV now), doubtless built a kitchen and bathroom (and if you guys have ever done that you know how much work it is!!!), retrofitted a truck, rebuilt his lab from scratch up to the point where he is capable of running DNA samples (unless he sends them them out to a DNA lab, which is quite possible actually since it's about as special as ordering pizza these days), repaired a helicopter (which really for Don shouldn't have been a big project)...
*gasps for breath*
... built a variety of personlized and color-coordinated(!) Mutant Outbreak Containment equipment complete with massive amounts of tranquilizer (or whatever compound was in those vials), and possibly (unless it was already there) staged an indubitably elegant engineering project in which he constructs a self-contained waterproofed lair-accessible foldup helipad and tunnels under a river to install it (without, you know, dying and taking his entire family with him). Oh! And don't forget the new security system, which knowing Don comes with all sorts of secret perks. I'm sure that's not all either.
Most of this without April's help, and who knows if they've even been in contact with Case since the move. Leatherhead has helped at least with the mutant outbreak equipment. Leo (was it Leo?) knows how to fly the helicopter and that's no mean feat; it stands to reason he was probably at least minimally involved in repairing it.
His brothers have to have been helping him. It's just not believable otherwise (I would have said it's not "possible," but none of this is really possible!). Don is definitely a planner (he may not test all his designs, but he sure draws up some pretty schematics for them). He would have no problem, once he figures out what needs to be done, delegating work out to whatever victim volunteers.
ETA: Where do they get the money? That's easy. Don's an eBay millionaire and he had April invest in Google for him. ;) Seriously, I don't think that, with all their skills, they need to steal. And I wouldn't be surprised if they've got a lot of friends in the city who they need only ask....
They must get the vast majority of their stuff from the scrapyards-- I think that's what Baxter's crack about the Containment Device was about, in this ep. "Amateurs!" Baxter WISHES he had the skillz Don has. That's another part that got to me in this ep... "so much for the intelligent turtle!" Grrr....... I was SO happy when Don totally thwacked Stockman across the room with the door of Stockman's apparently flimsy containment thingy. WHAP!

I'm betting the lost season will have all the answers for us.
Great episode. The shadowy figure talking to Agent Bishop looks like one of Shao Kahn's Shadow Priests.
Good episode, but it left several question, most of which have already been discussed here.
Another Shredder? THE original Shredder? Guess we'll never get rid of this villain in this show (not that I complain). Maybe those three that the Ancient One was speaking to are the original Shredder(s)?
Tell me something - when exactly did they get the hellicopter from Bishop? Was it shown or is it in Insane in the Membrane again? Damn, I almost feel like I have already watched that episode ;)
Anyone else thinks Karai is under some bad mental influence? I mean come on, everyone would have taken a note after all she has seen so far. Could it be possible that the Mystics set some sort of spell on her?

And I have the feeling they won't ever show insane in the membrane ever.
I hope they do... it'd be awkward, continuity-wise but I could deal with it. They may wait till next run. I'd be really surprised if they completely sensored the whole ep, considering what other things they've let go, and I'm sure the production team clears it with whomever is in charge of that before they even begin animating. I dunno what's going on..
after rewatching the ep tho something occured to me.... Where did Don get all those resources to build the landing pad that comes out of the fraking water??? Seriously! He did that all by himself?!That's the first thing I said when I saw that. "Riiiiight. Come on, Donnie's brilliant, but you can only do so much on a non-existant budget, and only a handful of people to help you..."
No joke. Where do they get all of the money for all of that stuff? Do they steal? Well, ninjas are stealthy.Heh, I think they're operating on the premise that Donnie can fix anything. Absolutely anything. And, every waking second we're not seeing him, Donnie is dumpster diving, or giving his brothers a shopping list while he works on what he/they found. My dad is a Mr. Fixit type like that, and you wouldn't believe what he's saved that people are about to throw away, thinking it's broken, and he just takes it apart, puts it back together and poof, it works fine! (Usually. Occasionally something really is broker than broke. ;)) He never ceases to amaze me. All Donnie would have to do is get himself into a place with lots of equipment and non-mechanical-thinking people who think things are unfixable, and he's all set. Getting it back home is the biggest concern... like the train car he aqcuired from Bishop. :D
2. "You are a pretender. Just like the Utrom abombination before you." and "You are not our master. We serve the Shredder." Or something like that. So why would they call their old master an abombination? Sounds like Ch'rell did in fact assume the identity of Oruku Saki a thousand years ago. That's just a theory of mine.I did have the uneasy feeling, when I saw the creatures the Ancient One was talking to, that the Shredder was something completely apart from Ch'rell. They had the feel of really powerful entities, and the different-colored eyes are probably significant. Theirs were blue, green, and white, and with the addition of the Shredder's red... I don't know what it means, though. And there was that helmet in "Big Brawl" that still bothers me, and Peter Laird's evasive remark about it. I wonder if Ch'rell did something to that forth entity, trapped him somewhere, or took his power.. maybe it has something to do with the Sword of Tengu..? Oh! *smacks forehead* Or the Heart of Tengu? Oooh... I'm getting part of a theory growing in my little brain here! I'll keep it to myself, though (unless someone twists my arm ;)), I've probably mused too much already for comfort.
I think, despite what we're shown, his brothers MUST have at least basic mechanical skills. We did see Leo welding in "A Tale of Master Yoshi", so he at least knows what to do with a welding torch, even if he wasn't doing anything terribly advanced with it. Raph seems to enjoy tinkering with the motorcycle, perhaps he's done some stuff on the car, too. There's not necessarily any evidence to back this up, but I think Mike would enjoy working on visual design (like the "Tortuga Bros." motif for the truck). His love for comics just kinda makes me think he's got a good eye for composition.
(unless he sends them them out to a DNA lab, which is quite possible actually since it's about as special as ordering pizza these days), *blinks* Are you serious? You can't be serious.
... built a variety of personlized and color-coordinated(!) As before, I somehow think Mikey may have been involved in that decision, he seems to like the super-hero-esque thing of everyone with their own special accessories and colors.
Mutant Outbreak Containment equipment complete with massive amounts of tranquilizer (or whatever compound was in those vials),They probably told us in "Insane in the Membrane"... *grumbles*
...staged an indubitably elegant engineering project in which he constructs a self-contained waterproofed lair-accessible foldup helipad and tunnels under a river to install it (without, you know, dying and taking his entire family with him).
ETA: Where do they get the money? That's easy. Don's an eBay millionaire and he had April invest in Google for him. ;)LOL, I hadn't thought of that... it could be entirely possible.. ;)
They must get the vast majority of their stuff from the scrapyards-- I think that's what Baxter's crack about the Containment Device was about, in this ep. "Amateurs!" Baxter WISHES he had the skillz Don has. That's another part that got to me in this ep... "so much for the intelligent turtle!" Grrr.......I thought it was just conceit on Baxter's part, but I guess there could be some envy involved there.. and it does seem like Don's containment unit was sturdier, now that you mention it.. hmm...
Was it shown or is it in Insane in the Membrane again? 'Fraid so, from what I gathered... :tgrumble:

he very well may have...but for some reason knowing this show and how the writters are....I wouldn't be suprised it it is a Utrom or perhaps another alien.
Or perhaps even one of the Foot Mystics trying to get the Heart of Tengue away from Karai...remember they are crafty and they also said to Karai that she will be seeing Leonardo soon as she left the room.
Actually, a CRAPLOAD of villains in TV shows look like that, so let's just say he looks cliché as hell.

ok see you are right I believe Spitfire and myself have been talking and we believe that the statues at the hall in the Battle Nexus are those shredder people I mean I can't see how people here want to so insane to say Shredder was not in the Battle Nexus at some point infact I believe he was the champion right before Mike was I mean how can anyone disreguard The first Ultimate Ninja episode he was coming after the Shredder and he went after Leonardo because he believe Leo killed Shredder.
Now if I think back to the Battle Nexus episode there are 3 statues and what did we see at the end of Tale of Master Yoshi? 3 dark Shredder Like figures...
I think that this story and everyone and everything in it is more closley knit then we think or thought it was before.
I'm glad Spitfire and myself are not the only ones to be talking of this all now..because before everyone dissmissed it as oh it could be anyones armour....I mean come on it's TMNT nothing is subtle in this show and everything is totally freakin' connected!:)

Yup. Putrescent is right. Him and me both talked about this a bit on Friday.
My reasonings behind this are the following
Shredder did not just learn those moves himself, and I doubt he could make that armor himself. Or build an army. Not as quickly as he did.
There are 3 statues in the Battle Nexus for Shredder, if Shredder had entered the years before how come Splinter never mentioned it to the turtles. But if he did enter and Splinter just didn't notice I doubt he won 3 times in a row and if he did I doubt they would make a statue for everytime he won. And as Putrescent said UN wanted Shredder for a reason...
Those 3 shadows seemed awful mad at the TMNT for never meeting them, perhaps because they helped banish Shredder?
That armor being on all 3 shadows tells me that they are apart of a secert clan that has been around for hundreds of years. Maybe the orginial Foot Clan. These shadows are the leaders, who were there before the Shredder obviously, now Shredder needed a hand. So I assume they helped him by giving him their army and the required trainning to smash his enemies.
Why I don't know yet and I havn't come up with a theory for that yet but the rest seems to make sense to me.
I don't consider this over looking anything. I consider this discussing something relevant to the show. Most people discuss stupid crap like "OMFG Don has teh hotz for April!" Yeah that's so much more justified then something like this.

I too can see your point, but I like to make assumptions as to where the plots gonna go and see if uit goes where I think it will or be wonderfully suprised at the other direction it's taken. I do get fed up with some of the over analization, but i just don't read it, and I had to sound all Mod-wanna-be, but maybe you could to.

Really a lot of questions... took me a while to even think about all the stuff in this ep.
Is Mystery Ghoulie Guy part of a group we haven't seen yet? If so, what do they want? Bishop didn't seem surprised to see him, so how long has this relationship been going on?
Your idea about Ch'rell makes sense, Warrior Turtle. Who was this original Oroku Saki then, and what's with all this mystic stuff? Is the Ancient One connected to the original Oroku?
The Mystery Shadows that the Ancient One talked to at the end of Prodigal Son (right ep?) were trying to decide whether to let the turtles live (at least that's what it sounded like to me). Could that be because the turtles are going to take this Heart of Tengu thingamajigger and give it to Bishop's Mystery Ghoulie Guy? Are the Shadows and the Ghoulie Guy enemies? And if so, does that mean the Shadows are going to try to do something to the turtles?
Hey, let's overanalyze until the shows nothing but a scientific explanation where nothing is filed under "suspension of disbelief" or "cartoon". I mean, the TMNT are real and $#*/.
There is no scientific explanation for most of the crap in this show, and there shouldn't be. And yet, for some reason some real science got written in, so I was surprised. :P

LMAO!!! A-frickin'-men!
Seriously, it's just a kids' show cartoon, it's not like they put as much effort in creating complexity as the Saw movies have or perhaps V For Vendetta. It's a simple cartoon show who's main purpose is to attract a young audience. No kid will want to wrap their brain around something that's more confusing to them than their multiplication tables. Just let simple things in the show be simple things.
Anyway, this episode was great! Nice way to open up to yet another twist in this plot. And I guess the Foot Mystics are smarter than we know... seeing as one of the mystics were able to predict that the Turtles would find Karai before she finds them.
The Leatherhead/GameraDon battle was pretty good, but it could've lasted longer. And now we're starting to understand more of LH's past. Good stuff! Now he won't be so much of a background character! And I'm loving his new voice... it's sounds so much closer to the Lousiana accent now. Wasn't Leatherhead from The Bayou in the Mirage Comics? I can't recall...
And I'm getting sick of hearing these references to episodes that 4Kids! decided to skip. Ugh, they're starting to piss me off as much as Cartoon Network, but hey... at least they've opened up a path for the Turtles to relaunch, so I can't really hate 'em.
And man am I hurting by seeing Donny as a mutated turtle. But it's so cool to see him take everyone out! Laugh at his nerdiness again, bitches!
And I just want to finish this off by saying Leo's voice actor is probably one of the best deliverers (is that even a word?) in the show! I just felt Leo when he yelled at Bishop to not hurt GameraDon. I'm loving this guy's voice acting more and more as the season's progressed!

Something with complexity takes more then a year to write. Saw took about 50 days...further more if you think V is complex you need a Cat scan. Complex is something that is hard to figure out. If you can't figure out V then I don't know what to say to you.

What? If it weren't for V telling Evey why he sent her through that torture/captivity scene, I wouldn't have figured it out that instant. Hell, just listening to the dialogue of the movie was complex enough.
And say what you want, I can guarantee you didn't know who the Jigsaw Killer was from when the movie started to when he revealed himself. Complexity enough...
And what was the point of contradicting my words? That was so besides the point of the post.

Hey, let's overanalyze until the shows nothing but a scientific explanation where nothing is filed under "suspension of disbelief" or "cartoon". I mean, the TMNT are real and $#*/.
And once again, I'm thinking about my place in this fandom. I mean, is it really just me who doesn't want to know if red glowing eyes mean that the Shredder is evil and the pinkeyed Shredder part of a liberate-gay-culture-ancient-UFO-hemp-legalization-cult-society? I don't care, honestly. Shredder is Shredder, I don't care what he or she does or what the significance behind these acts is, I just accept the fact that he/she is doing it. You're seriously analyzing the bloody thing to the point where you kill the show... and then you kick the body around for a while until you all go on to raping it and then kicking it some more.
The last couple of episodes have been extremely painful to watch, since I always had in mind, what I would read later on. I knew that you were going ballistic over that three-fingero-saur and that the line about serving the Shredder and not some Alien will make you wet your pants.
No Offense Anarky But Let The Kids Have Theyre Fun And Get Over It
You know what also it's all there no one is over doing anything you wait and see then I'm gonna come write I told ya so all over your head when your sleeping lol:lol:
and if you knew it so do the writters and thats why they do this **** cause we have fun it's like the comics you go omg whos that dark figure attacking splinter and everyone goes nutts and u can tell it's flippin rat king...
people go nutts for this crap it's not just tmnt...
you making a big deal of this is allot worse then people talking about there opinions and thoughts of what may happen and could be about the show..
they are having fun....I don't see what the big deal is...

Wasn't Leatherhead from The Bayou in the Mirage Comics? I can't recall...
Mirage/FB/4K Leatherhead: A pet of the Utroms. Sometime between vol 2 and 4 Leatherhead changed back into a normal gator.
OS Leatherhead: A Florida swamp gator accidentally mutated by ooze that Krang had lost.
Archie Leatherhead: He was a man from the Louisiana Bayou named Jess Harley. Trying to find a way to get money he stole the Turnstone (a magical orb thing that used the power of thought to do stuff) from a swamp witch named Mary Bones. But she turned out to be a former Warlord from Demension X named Cherubae. She use the Turnstone to turn Jess Harley into an anthromorphic gator and dubbed him Leatherhead. He first became an intergalactic wrestler and then joined the Mighty Mutanimals. He was eventually murdered by evil aliens.

Thanks, Raph's Girl! The OS Leatherhead and the Archie Leatherhead I knew, but I couldn't wrap my brain around the Mirage Leatherhead's origin. I guess the utroms didn't explain exactly where they found Leatherhead when he was a little 'gator? And Leatherhead changed back into a regular alligator? Wow! I didn't even notice that...

I agree also because Peter laird is a complex guy and most of this comes from him and he works with them on the show nothing comes out unless it goes past the man first. And they know this isn't just a kids show thats why they do all this stuff for us fan and older people who watch the show because they know allot of us like to do such things...I mean hell the turtles analyze things on the show.
and I agree also I'm really sad for Don he's my favorite turtle.

My point is, just because TMNT is a cartoon doesn't mean it can't be complex. Who else could the killer have been? It was pretty obvious to me. Since there were no other characters for him to be I assumed it was him. It obviously wasn't the little floor cleaner dude. And what gave it away the most was the scene where they almost catch him.
As for V I guess I figure movies out easily...I never read the comic. But I don't find a twist to be complex. Complex is something that is hard to figure out. You don't watch all of V and then at the end have questions. Fight Club is complex, Casshern is complex.
TMNT isn't all that complex but when we make this assumption or suggestions you guys dismiss them like we're idiots or we have nothing better to do then make up TMNT theories all day. Just because I can come up with a theory in about 5 minutes that makes sense doesn't make me an over analyzer. I believe what I stated will happen. maybe you don't, but if what I said does happen I'm just going to say "I told you so" Your problem is you don't want it to come true so when you watch it you don't already know what's going to happen.

And actually, I only agreed with Anarky on people overanalyzing the show down to a T. It really does kinda spoil the episode... It's the little things that really don't mean much that a lot of people seem to like to point out.
I don't really get it... but I guess I can't knock people for enjoying a show THAT much. It just weirds me out, I guess.

First off, I never said that the new show can't be complex. I said that the writers just don't try so hard at complexity as screenwriters for movies. There's absolutely no problem with that. After all, it's just a kids' show.
Secondly, your ability to figure things out could probably exceed others. It's kind of wrong to assume my ability to figure out things is equal to yours.
Third... YES! The element of surprise is ruined! I love surprises, and I'm pretty sure others do, too. It's not that I hate the fact that everyone comes up with theories and are able to figure things out, I guess it's more of my frustration of allowing myself to read these theories, knowing damn-well that I like being surprised.

You know, the more I think about it, the more this will prove quite interesting. While Leonardo snuck into the building with veritable ease the last time, I imagine they'll make it much tougher for the three to get in this time. Chalk it up to Karai improving security no doubt.
But moving on... While Karai is apparently after the Turtles still.... no, I take that back. Her dialogue suggests that she's solely after Leonardo, despite knowing that the other Turtles and Splinter are still alive as Leo warned her to stay away from them. Anyway, she's still after Leo but has yet to make a move against him as she doesn't know where to look. The Turtles, by all rights, are breaking into her domain with different reasons then before. Return to New York was all about defeating the Shredder.... and pretty much entailed that there was a major revenge factor in that mess as well. Prodigal Son... was different. Leo didn't go to avenge his brothers. He went to deliver a message; to leave his loved ones alone. And perhaps try to reach the Karai of old and bring her back as the Ancient One brought him back from the brink. But this time, they're not looking for a fight of any sort. Five gets you ten they'd just want to slip in and back out with the Heart of Tengu. Granted, we know from the preview they'll get a fight anyway, but they aren't looking to confront Karai. Though I imagine Raphael, being the team's sole resident hothead once more, will make some comment how he'd like to throw down with the new Shredder.
(Man I'm rambling...)
Anyway, it should be interesting to see how Leonardo will be in regards to Karai still continuing her vendetta. And since we can assume we'll see Raph disagreeing with Leo again... it should be interesting how that goes. Mikey may be all that can keep the two from butting heads literally and not just metaphorically.
On the other hand, I guess I completely read into Bishop's saying he could cure Don all wrong. I figured it was a case of Baxter not wanting to help and Bishop trying to be a man of his word. But if he was lying... Why would Baxter seem so adamant in his sign language about their being a cure. I doubt he, with his hatred of the TMNT, would care if it was a lie or not. Of course, if Bishop was going to say yes either way, why bother looking to Stockman?

Seriously, the easiest way to avoid the overanalyzation is... not to read it! Such a novel idea, no?
And some analyzation is essential for these threads, methinks. 1) It's obvious more thought is put into this show than most cartoons, and 2) We saw the episode. Unless someone missed it and specifically asks for a recap, why repeat what we already saw without making theories about it?
The nitpicky stuff is usually too far for me, and I just read it and skip over. It's not hard; I know you guys can do it. ;) Though when iris picks out real science they managed to stick into the right context, it makes me happy for some reason.
All I can say is... I'm so excited for next week. Too bad they couldn't start this arc sooner.

I'd have to agree. To me this season has had some ups and downs, but its kicked into high gear all of a sudden. And I like it.
On the other hand... When it comes to possible over-analyzation... Well, I think I may suffer from trying to hard to get into the characters' heads. With a lot of shows, books, whatever. Especially when the characters end up fascinating me one way or another. Though that may just be because I like to write and it transfers to a lot of what I do outside of that hobby. Now the science stuff... I usually just let that go by. Not my forté. No sir.

we believe that the statues at the hall in the Battle Nexus are those shredder people I mean I can't see how people here want to so insane to say Shredder was not in the Battle Nexus at some pointThe thing is, Ch'rell himself may or may not have ever been there. Maybe so, but it's so much more complicated now, with Ch'rell and the Shredder being two different entities, with three (or more?) nearly identical creatures running around in the same getup. It could be any one of them.
I'm glad Spitfire and myself are not the only ones to be talking of this all now..because before everyone dissmissed it as oh it could be anyones armour....I partly agree... they did play the Shredder's signature sound (what do you call that, anyway? The "ooh"? :p) when Leo saw the helmet, after all. Speaking of that sound, this ep was the first time they played it for Karai's appearance on screen; it had always been Ch'rell/Saki before that point. They even played it when they showed his statue. What made them think to attribute it to Karai this time? She's appeared as the Shredder before...
Bishop didn't seem surprised to see him,Seriously... would anything surprise that guy? ;) And he did say "Who are you?".
Um, yeah. I am serious. <<< danger will robinson, science stuffOh wow..! Huh. You are serious. Not very expensive either (although I know zip about any of this, and how many 'orders' it would take to get anywhere). And here I was thinking that was far-fetched! :teek: *gawks at all the technobabble* Wow... Donnie's a smart Turtle. ;)
Well you figure they have Zanramon's cruiser and the Foot copter. Some rube on eBaby probably paid a nice chunk a change for that stuff. ;)LOL... "Alien Tric Leader's Cruiser! RARE! LQQK!" :D
Seriously, it's just a kids' show cartoon, it's not like they put as much effort in creating complexity... [haven't seen the shows you're talking about, can't comment on that, but..] If you want to watch a show with not much effort put into a complicated story, watch something like Disney's Aladdin (based on my favorite feature film, I love the TV show, it's funny and all, but there's very little continuity and very little that you can't predict in the first five minutes!). Heck, watch the old TMNT animated series! (I'm not dissing it, I love it, it's very fun in its own right, but it was not designed to be complex, doesn't lend itself to analysis, and I wouldn't.) There's no mystery, unless you're a child. This series is full of things to speculate on!
It's a simple cartoon show who's main purpose is to attract a young audience. No kid will want to wrap their brain around something that's more confusing to them than their multiplication tables.Heh, you struck a nerve, pardon the ranting. :) No, the old TMNT toon was designed for a young audience. This one is aimed a lot higher. As you said, if kids don't want to muse over all that stuff, then why is it there? They wouldn't bother if that was the only audience they were trying to entertain! We would have (for example, having just watched "Raphael Meets His Match" from the old show the other day), Captain Filch and his high-tech submarine, spouting "arrrr"s and "shiver-me-timber"s, as he hijacks a cruise ship for ransom money, while a girl who was once kidnapped by him and got turned into a mutant, tries to intervene, to the initial confusion and eventual understanding of Raphael. She blows up the guy's sub, and has pizza with the Turtles afterwards. That is simple, and to the point, and a fun premise. Here, we have Bishop, who was once a soldier in the War of 1812, now living in the 21st century, a clone of his former selves, asking the Turtles to take an artifact (recommended to him by some mystery guy we'll probably see more of later) from Karai, who is the daughter of the Shredder (who was actually a millenia-old alien, although he took on the name and identity of someone else) and one-time-friend of the guys, so he can have some better tech than stolen Triceraton stuff from that invasion, so he can better perfect his genetic experiments and create more and better super soldiers (one of which is now the Rat King) to repel further invasions and the occasional alien abduction, which he himself has experienced. Now, which one is designed for a young audience, and which one actually has some intricacies?
Just let simple things in the show be simple things. Then you can have Captain Filch, a guy who was introduced with no fanfare, had no past, no background, not much of a personality, and was never seen again. I'll take Bishop, with a long and very interesting background, and talk about that background, and how it may tie in with all the other plot threads they're weaving together. And, just to say that I do see your point, I promise I won't speculate any more on (for example) why April's hair color seems unnatural. That is indeed a simple thing that I should let remain simple.
And I'm getting sick of hearing these references to episodes that 4Kids! decided to skip. You'd likely not have them at all, if it was your typical child's show. Okay, okay, I'm done now. :)
And I just want to finish this off by saying Leo's voice actor is probably one of the best deliverers (is that even a word?) in the show! I just felt Leo when he yelled at Bishop to not hurt GameraDon. *nodnods* I agree, I really liked that. You definitely get a sense of, I dunno... sincerity, urgency, emphatic emotion? You can hear the emotion. He's very good with that.
but just noticing little things like the change in Shredder's armor meaning something or the scar on Leo's back somehow doesn't infect and kill him. It's the little things that really don't mean much that a lot of people seem to like to point out.Yeah, I can understand that it could be aggravating, and I'm definitely guilty of that kind of thing myself... but.. it's hard to explain. It's kind of a tongue-in-cheek conversation, talking about things like turtle and mutant Turtle anatomy, and why Leo's gouge is probably shell rot rather than a direct injury... I mean, we know it doesn't matter in the long run, and I don't really care what it is, but it's fun to learn new things that are remotely relevant to the subject, and just to generally be silly about it. I'm sorry it annoys people, but you have to keep in mind we're not really serious about it.
Third... YES! The element of surprise is ruined! I love surprises, and I'm pretty sure others do, too... I guess it's more of my frustration of allowing myself to read these theories, knowing damn-well that I like being surprised.*winces* I see... that's probably what's causing the conflict. Some of us like to talk about all the things it could be and should be and would be, and what-ifs, while others just want to take in what they see, and not try to understand the tiny details, until they reveal them to us. I think I understand. Ack... but on the other hand, at least in my case, I feel like I need to babble about my theories, or I'll implode or something... it's that "Oh! I have an idea!!" feeling, and I feel so stifled if I can't share it with someone. That's why I come here and speculate and analyze to death. It's hardto make myself not talk about all the discoveries I feel like I'm making when I watch an episode. We need a "rambling theory" tag, like the "spoiler" tags... :goofygri:
On the other hand... When it comes to possible over-analyzation... Well, I think I may suffer from trying to hard to get into the characters' heads. With a lot of shows, books, whatever. Especially when the characters end up fascinating me one way or another.Yeah, that's an ailment a lot of us have. That's exactly how I feel, too.
I mean, is it really just me who doesn't want to know if red glowing eyes mean that the Shredder is evil and the pinkeyed Shredder part of a liberate-gay-culture-ancient-UFO-hemp-legalization-cult-society?I honestly do think you are one of the few, Anarky, who doesn't at least wonder. And I didn't say it meant anything. I said it could. It was an observation. "Huh. Look. They have different-colored eyes". If I'd said it that way, would that be better? Because that's essentially what I meant.
I don't care, honestly. Shredder is Shredder, I don't care what he or she does or what the significance behind these acts is, I just accept the fact that he/she is doing it.I do see your point, but they keep raising questions by throwing something like this at us, and we're just asking the questions aloud. Doesn't it at least make you think "Well, that's kinda weird, they never said that before"?
You're seriously analyzing the bloody thing to the point where you kill the show...I really feel bad, that you feel that way... it brings the show to life for those of us discussing these things. We wouldn't be analyzing it if we weren't enjoying it so much! We'd just roll our eyes and move on, otherwise, and the magic would be gone as soon as the show was over. We're reflecting on the thoughtful, intricate details the writers have woven into the story! How else do we enjoy it? Why else do we have this forum? So we can all say "That was a nice episode. Don't you agree?" "Yes, I think so too. And wasn't it cool when so-and-so happened?" "Yeah, that was pretty awesome!" we've all seen the show, we don't need to retell it to each other. Why can't we have some intelligent discussion about what the writers and animators are doing? People put their hearts into this work, it's not fair to just shrug, say "that's nice", and forget it.

When I watch an episode of the TMNT (which rarely happens anyway) I just want to be entertained. Period. As it has been said before, this show is a show for kids and when I want to think about the plot I watch "Lost" or something. I don't see why peple get all heated up about this though. If you don't like the over-analyzing, just don't read it! At least that's what I do.
I don't forget that kids are the target audience of this TMNT show... but I could swear that the writers sometimes do. :P
Seriously... would anything surprise that guy? ;) And he did say "Who are you?"
Oh he did? My bad.

My beef with the overanalyzation is that it kills the show for me. I mean, with every sciency bit you throw in, a little of the magic goes lost. And the amount of science you throw in, there's no magic left at all. There's only fans who bitch about every detail and involve DNA-sequencing in a bloody cartoon. Think about that. A cartoon is there to entertain, not to make a doctorate from it. And no, I don't want to know if Raph's two allels that differ from Mikey are responsible for him growing a red bandana. I couldn't care less, but no, you had to say it... poof, another bit of magic gone.
To me, you fans are killing the show.

The thing is, Ch'rell himself may or may not have ever been there. Maybe so, but it's so much more complicated now, with Ch'rell and the Shredder being two different entities, with three (or more?) nearly identical creatures running around in the same getup. It could be any one of them.
I partly agree... they did play the Shredder's signature sound (what do you call that, anyway?
Seriously... would anything surprise that guy? ;) And he did say "Who are you?".
Oh wow..! Huh. You are serious. Not very expensive either (although I know zip about any of this, and how many 'orders' it would take to get anywhere). And here I was thinking that was far-fetched! :teek: *gawks at all the technobabble* Wow... Donnie's a smart Turtle. ;)
LOL... "Alien Tric Leader's Cruiser! RARE! LQQK!" :D
Heh, you struck a nerve, pardon the ranting.
Then you can have Captain Filch, a guy who was introduced with no fanfare, had no past, no background, not much of a personality, and was never seen again. I'll take Bishop, with a long and very interesting background, and talk about that background, and how it may tie in with all the other plot threads they're weaving together. And, just to say that I do see your point, I promise I won't speculate any more on (for example) why April's hair color seems unnatural. That is indeed a simple thing that I should let remain simple.
You'd likely not have them at all, if it was your typical child's show. Okay, okay, I'm done now. :)
*nodnods* I agree, I really liked that. You definitely get a sense of, I dunno... sincerity, urgency, emphatic emotion? You can hear the emotion. He's very good with that.
Yeah, I can understand that it could be aggravating, and I'm definitely guilty of that kind of thing myself... but.. it's hard to explain.
*winces* I see... that's probably what's causing the conflict. :goofygri:
Yeah, that's an ailment a lot of us have. That's exactly how I feel, too.
I honestly do think you are one of the few, Anarky, who doesn't at least wonder. And I didn't say it meant anything. I said it could. It was an observation. "Huh. Look. They have different-colored eyes". If I'd said it that way, would that be better? Because that's essentially what I meant.
I do see your point, but they keep raising questions by throwing something like this at us, and we're just asking the questions aloud. Doesn't it at least make you think "Well, that's kinda weird, they never said that before"?
I really feel bad, that you feel that way... it brings the show to life for those of us discussing these things. People put their hearts into this work, it's not fair to just shrug, say "that's nice", and forget it.
oh aska thats exactly what I'm talking about...but I think our first shredder the evil utrom was there though because ultimate said he was looking for saki...I mean of course unless he wanted to get drunk
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aska don't apologize please you've done nothing wrong AT ALL!
the way allot of people around here are being treated as of late is really starting to tick me off...most of the attitudes and bitterness is coming from people who hold the title of Mod...I just find it really funny...I have no problem with anyone till they start picking on people for wanting to have intelligent talk about a SHOW THAT IS MADE FOR TEENS AND UP NOT FOR 5 YEAR OLDS! this show is most defiantly aimed at least a 12-up audience in my honest opinion.
I honestly think allot of the things we talk about are rather intelligent and probably make the writers and Peter Laird happy to see that we are taking the time to notice all the little things they add in there...
This show is frickin' deep man...look at same as it never was...look at the life blowing mind numbing crap stockman's gone through....shredder killing people for the slightest slip up.....Leonardo getting stabbed...I could go on and on and on and on till the break o' dawn!
THIS IS NOT JUST A KIDS SHOW!!! And I for one will not believe that for a second...I mean really do you guys want me to write to Peter and see what he says cause you know he will say they throw crap in there for older people to....cause he knows that the TMNT have FANS OF ALL AGES.
I can't see why it's so hard for anyone to see it's not at all just a kids show...because really guys it's not...how many kids show do you know that are all honestly for kids (not 4kids heh) that have long story arcs...deaths...emotion...april and casey falling in love...trust kids hate that crap...that's for us older mirage fans and others who may have recently been told about the new tmnt and actully like it.

I think you are really making a bigger deal out of it than it is....but who am I to say how you think..I guess I don't take the this dino is this this shoulder strap is drawn wrong crap to seriously cause I don't know it's been going on so long from the old show till now that it doesn't bother me...hell even the comics like archie and stuff had color mystakes at times...oh well
I completely hate that ooo it's a differnt dino than they said it is crap also though....
but you know man love the show for what it is...and just ignore that crap..it will do ya some good bro....
BTW I don't think that stuff is over analyzing I think it's fans being b1tchy and annoying and Nitpicky...I'm sorry if talking about we think is gonna happen is annoying but I don't think thats what you are talking about I think some of us misunderstood you......but seriously it's really fun to guess and think back like woa I remember when they showed us so and so and look now it has relivance...I'm telling you they do that stuff on purpose cause they know we like it...I mean look at tales of tmnt comics...he's doing the same thing with that going back and giving us the things we always wonderd about that never came to frutation.

Sure, these were great moments, but I don't want to know if the sword that stabbed Leo was made by Hattori Hanzo or Yoshimitsu Kawaguchi. I honestly don't care, really. And that's what the fans do. They take great moments and analyze it until the greatness is gone and then they decide to analyze it even more until the actual scene seems like a parody of the scene the fans discussed in the first place.
I don't see where the problem is. If someone thinks that the discussion kills the show for him, just don't read the episode discussion threads. Is it that hard? There are plenty of other threads to look at in this place.
This is a forum and everyone has the right to share their opinion as long as they don't violate the rules. Last time I checked, overanalyzing isn't something forbidden by the terms of service.

Yeah, right. And if I shouldn't read what the fans have to say, where is my place in this fandom? That's why I keep asking myself what I still find in the fandom or where my place is. Okay my take on this is what is the point of having the Technodrome Forum if we can't discuss our love of the show? I mean some of us do analyze and get a bit wordy but that's just because we love the show so much. I don't find anything wrong with discussion, critiquing, analysis of a show. Sure Turtles does have that quality of having to suspend belief on some things. That we understand. But for us (at least for me) it's fun to speculate on some things. Connect past story threads with others (because that is what the writers do on this show).
Yes this is a children's show but the writer's also made it to have adult themes that are inferred in the show if the viewers so choose. No one said you had to leave the fandom or anything by all means discuss what you want. But I think us overanalyzers have just as much right to discuss what we lilke or don't like as far as I know we aren't breaking any rules.
Oh and so this isn't completely off topic. Baxter got totally "pwned" for insulting Leatherhead and Donnie's bubble. I thought that was hilarious. :P

No one said you had to leave the fandom or anything by all means discuss what you want
No you didn't, but I did. I just feel that, if the fandom needs to pick everything apart until there's nothing left that could be picked apart, I don't want to be part of it any more. This is not a threat or anything, it's merely a statement and something that is important to me. I don't want to know that Pinkeye-Shredder works as a poledancer in a penguin's club in Swaziland for a living. It's bad enough that I know that it's Pinkeye-Shredder.
discuss what you want
Heh, funny. Flashback to "Tales of Yoshi": Spitfire mentionned that Yoshi's dress looked just like the one The Bride in Kill Bill wore and the next second somebody went "No, you f***ing idiot, it's obviously a reference to Game of Death" and thus killing that part of the discussion. Also, my comment about the woman there, whatever her name was, being a prostitute was completely ignored and people continued bitching about how important the error in her kimonos were. So: No, I can't discuss whatever I want, because obviously I have to be wrong and the fandom-consensus obviously isn't.

Y'know, as nutty as it may sound, Anarky does make a meaningful point. But this is hardly the place to be discussing such things -- this thread is for discussion concerning "Good Genes." If y'all want to debate about wether or not discussing the historical accuracy of cartoon kimonos is somehow relevant, do it somewhere else.

Basically, yeah, that's exactly what I mean.
Not that scientists have hearts or anything. There's a flux capacitor in there.Eww. That doesn't help, iris. :p
My beef with the overanalyzation is that it kills the show for me. I mean, with every sciency bit you throw in, a little of the magic goes lost. And the amount of science you throw in, there's no magic left at all.
And no, I don't want to know if Raph's two allels that differ from Mikey are responsible for him growing a red bandana. I couldn't care less, but no, you had to say it... poof, another bit of magic gone.I do see what you mean. And I'm really sorry... it's just that a lot of us feel like it just enhances it, and makes the magic that much more... magical? Not the nitpicking, I mean, but the examination and rationalization... you don't want it rationalized. We all want to enjoy the fantasy, but, while that sort of analyzation/rationalization brings some of us closer to the fantasy, it's bringing the fantasy closer to reality for you, and that kills it. I know, I'm all gushing philosophy here, but I don't know how else to say it. And I don't really know what to do about it; it's just something that some people are going to do. I don't know how to stop it, it's not something you can just turn on and off. You see an ep, and out comes all the enthused examination.
I don't see where the problem is. If someone thinks that the discussion kills the show for him, just don't read the episode discussion threads. Is it that hard? There are plenty of other threads to look at in this place. That's not really fair... but I see we're talking about two different things here, too: overanalyzing what they gave us, and trying to predict what they will give us later. You don't like being spoiled (because something in all our theories is probably going to be right, and now you know it, and it turns out to be as bad as a spoiler), others don't like nitpicking and reality-izing.
And no, I don't think my stuff is completely "left field", because there were discussions like that (see "Tales of Yoshi" for example). No, Anarky's right, we have dissected scenes like that, before (I certainly did that to the stabbing scene in "Exodus", trying to infer what the characters are thinking and feeling down to the minute millisecond, through an animator's drawing. We want to understand it, but there's not much to understand. If someone else had drawn it, the interpretation could have been completely different. It's not concrete. And I think that's Anarky's thing... we're reminding him that it's only a drawing.) It's fascinating to some to peel away the layers and examine them individually, but for others, you pull it apart and there's nothing left.
Also, my comment about the woman there, whatever her name was, being a prostitute was completely ignored and people continued bitching about how important the error in her kimonos were.
Only because you wrapped it in so much sarcasm, I for one thought that was part of the sarcasm. I didn't know you really meant that.. and that is something that's interesting to hear, and I didn't know that. I personally don't think that was the intent, but that's not the point. I wouldn't have ignored it if I thought you were serious.
But this is hardly the place to be discussing such things -- this thread is for discussion concerning "Good Genes." If y'all want to debate about wether or not discussing the historical accuracy of cartoon kimonos is somehow relevant, do it somewhere else.I know, it's sort of off-topic, but it needs to be talked about, apparently, or we wouldn't be. It's relevant to this thread because it has to do with how we are discussing the episode. The debate can have its own thread, but the contention is here, in this one, and a debate elsewhere may not stop it in here.
I apologize, Anarky, if I've antagonized you... I do see why you're upset. But I just can't help examining it like I do, and I don't know if anyone else can, either... just like for you, it would ruin the magic for me, and a lot of others. I have no answer, except to have lots and lots of patience.
So... to get back on topic, what do you want to discuss? I'm open to suggestions.

Hello! Earth's calling Putrescent! This show has no adult-oriented or even innocently kinky jokes in it. By contrast, it had a few fart jokes... So, what were you talking about "kid's show"?
I'll say that somebody has to over-analyze. Otherwise, there'd be not much inspiration for future plots to evolve. But, I'll leave that to the writers.
In the meantime, I'll wait until next Saturday to see what happens with the Turtles and Karai.:D

Hehe, niiice. ;) Though I tend to agree. I love overanalyzing. It kinda makes me think they were thinking SO DEEPLY into the plot to put everything in there. It's one of the things I love so dearly about the Harry Potter books. EVERYTHING has a point in it!! :D
As for my thoughts? Well... really I have to watch this episode again, because I was tired and feeling yucky when I finally laid down to watch it, so I fell asleep.

Putrescent, I agree with you that the show is not just for kids, but please give more credit to the "kids". I was a kid once, when Gargoyles first started airing, and as many people here know that is a deep show too. Even as a kid I realized that. I could go into detail about why I loved it so much, but the point is the deep nature of the show and its characters helped me get through some difficult years in school. Just because they are kids, doesn't mean they don't understand or don't see the similar things as the adults do.
Anarchy, I am sorry that you feel a bit ostracized by the community. As you've probably seen, I don't post much around here. I'm not one for theorizing, but I enjoy reading other peoples' ideas. I watch the show with anticipation, because even though I know all the theories, I really don't know what will happen next. When everyone is proven wrong, I am excited. When people are proven right, I am still excited. Why? Because the show is still great now matter what people say or think! While people can predict what happens, no one can predict the emotions it brings out in me. Yeah, I watch for plot, but I also watch on a more visceral level. I wonder if that is true for others as well. Maybe the Technodrome isn't for you, but I doubt you want to leave the TMNT community as a whole. You can be a fan without being an active participant in a forum. I know I am a fan because I love TMNT. I think that is the only requirement for being a fan, what you feel in your heart :)

Yeah, right. And if I shouldn't read what the fans have to say, where is my place in this fandom? That's why I keep asking myself what I still find in the fandom or where my place is. And no, I don't think my stuff is completely "left field", because there were discussions like that (see "Tales of Yoshi" for example).
I understand what your saying. If you like we could mark out theories with Spoiler tags? That might be more fair.

I'll just say this... yes there are people who like to analyz the shows....it's called nit picking and it's so common among sci-fi fans that there's books about it (Nitpicker's guide to Star Trek is hilarious).
It's just a common thing in all fandom nomatter what...there'll always be people who like to look at a show, analyze it, and figure out what's going on about it.
I admit that Im one of those people. To this day I complain about a major plot hole in the final season of Sailor Moon (nobody noticed a plane full of people had gone missing?! :ohwell: )
It's just something that we all have to deal with whatever the fandom. *shrugs*
It would seem boring if there weren't people like that...nitpickers are needed.

oh ok death scenes, sadness, kissing between characters...ok thats all for the kids...yea sure..ok
Are death scenes really shown in TMNT? Mostly they are off-scene, safe for "Same as it never was" episode. And here comes another matter, quite dangerous for the young minds, I daresay. Death is not presented in this show as something irrevocable - see multiple returns of allegedly dead Shredder of Baxter or the fact that Leo, Raph and Mikey were alive in the episodes following SAINW - as they were killed ONLY in one universe.
Plus - sadness and kissing are shown in 90% of kiddy shows - and hello, that's nothing explicit. Nor is violence that barely does any harm to the main characters for that matter. And no one cusses here. The fact "TMNT" looks more serious doesn't mean this show isn't PRIMARILY targeted to the pre-teen and early teen segment of the audience or deserves so solemnly in-depth interpretations. But yeah, if anyone wants to analyse - way to go. This ain't prohibited in here.

There's a huge difference between analyzing (looking at & connecting details) and nitpicking (criticizing details); please do not get them mixed up. :P
TMNT really is general fantasy, not sci-fi. TMNT generally makes no pretense at being based on any kind of "real" technological principles or rules of nature, which is what sci-fi is always expected to do. That's why we know several properties of naquada and its variant, naquadria, in Stargate, but we don't know even one secret about the ooze in TMNT.

Hello! Earth's calling Putrescent! This show has no adult-oriented or even innocently kinky jokes in it. By contrast, it had a few fart jokes... So, what were you talking about "kid's show"?I agree with Aska...
While I am always turned off by fart jokes, there are actually fewer in this show than most cartoons aimed at kids.
As for the "kinky" bit... don't get me started. I find it disgusting that adults are only interested in cartoons if there are (thinly veiled or not) sex jokes. Are we as a society really that sick? :\ I don't find that stuff funny or mature at all.
But I digress. "Kid" cartoons are usually FOR the kids because they aren't terribly complex. They're usually bright and colorful and rarely extend past the realm of the obvious.
This is more of an animated series. We have character development. We have serious situations that are about as realistic as possible, given the premise. Characters actually get hurt if beat up enough (how long were those bandages on after Exodus? ...3 episodes?). There are a lot of subtle hints and continuity that even a lot of "adult" cartoons don't touch. If this were aimed ONLY at kids, would we be watching a show that in its 4th season requires knowledge of almost the entire series to get all the intricacies? Because the age group they're supposedly shooting for doesn't have that kind of attention span. I get the impression that the simpler jokes (and yes, the occasional but rare fart gag) are thrown in so that there's still stuff IN there for kids!
And for the record, I don't consider Gargoyles to be a "kid" cartoon either. Animated shows don't have to have kinky jokes or be anime to avoid being "kids-only."
*sigh* And there I went. [/rant], MN out.

I used the word "PRIMARILY" and it rather means "MAINLY" than "ONLY", as far as I know. BTW - I really think we have different points of view on the matter who "a kid" actually is.

Um... call me a hypocrite, but now I think I want to say that what audience the show is trying to target is not the issue here.
This is an anybody-can-watch-it series, and so was Gargoyles (well, mostly; as a Christian, I have a few very conservative friends who think any television violence is horrifying, and in the case of Gargoyles, "Gasp! They're demonic!" but their kids are perfectly happy watching non-violent alternatives, so to each his own. I volunteer with another Christian whose five-year-old is a TMNT fanatic [and most of his friends, she says, aren't allowed to watch it, which she also thinks is kind of silly. There are good moral lessons to be had!]. He likes to come with his mom so he can talk Turtles with me  ). There's enough site gags and silliness to keep children (and some of us who are easily entertained ;)) quite amused, and enough deep stuff to please any analyzer. There's the occasional mush, to keep the typical little girl and most hopeless romantics pleased (I are one :D), enough action to satisfy any typical boy's or action/martial arts fan's want for that, quite a bit more genuine drama than a lot of other American animated shows (though I've noticed American animation has been getting better with that over the years), and animation good enough, on average, to make those of us in that field/leaning in that direction, go "ooooh". :) Good writing, good art, a wide audience, what more can you ask for? :D
Now, how about "Good Genes"? :)
*coughs* Quoting Don, in "Secret Origins", "So, the chemical makeup of the ooze is caused by the inter-dimensional shift of non-essential sub-atomic particles." :D LOL, I know what you mean, though. I love love love Don's babblespeak. He's so mind-blowingly brilliant that nothing he says is comprehensible. Sez I, Stockman's got nothin' on our boy.
But right now all Donnie says is "RAAARW!!!!" I feel a tad traitorous because I kind of like him as a bloodthirsty monster.

Yea... I know how that is....I grew up in a strict Christian household where there were few shows I was allowed to watch.... The Simpsons was banned cuz my dad believed Bart was a bad influence
Full House was a no no cuz my dad hated Bob Saget for some reason (to this day I haven't seen every ep)...same with America's Funniest Home Videos.
TMNT was one of the shows I was allowed to watch....my parents encouraged my TMNT fandom because I had friends thru it (the whole neighborhood came to our house to watch it  ) and from it I started learning about the artists they were named after. My mom's a major Mikey fan, My dad's a Leo fan, my step-dad is a Don fan (he considers Don to be his hero).

To me, it is a kids show but the adults that watched TMNT when they were kids can come back to their fandom. I think that this is what happened in 2003 when the new series came out. It is a show that both kids and adults can watch and enjoy it together. There are not too many cartoons like that on TV right now. There are cartoons that have adult-related issues that are not appropriate for children. Also, there are some kids' cartoons that some adults may or may not have interest watching.
Masked Ninja
04-04-2006, 06:52 PM
I just don't like the "kid's show" label because that implies that's the only group that can enjoy it. This one crosses age groups, and I really do believe that only people our age can fully enjoy everything.
It's marketed towards kids (toys, crappy 3-5 episode DVDs), but the show itself doesn't do a very good job of staying on a "kid" level. The old cartoon... now that one did a better job of matching its target group.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't find the offscreen death and lack of blood to be juvenile. I could handle characters actually taking their last breath onscreen, but animated gore looks really fake and creepy to me.
Which is another thing... you also don't need gratuitous violence to make something "suitable for adults." Most of the time, silhouettes are even more intense because your imagination can run wild on what's happening. Though I do wish they could show minor cuts... y'know, like red lines? Splinter really needed one in "The Ancient One."
And I wasn't talking about hardcore sex jokes... I don't find most innuendo funny either. Must be why I hardly watch TV anymore... it is possible to have good, clean humor and action.
Beh, don't mind me. I'm just so tired of half the world assuming animation is entirely a for-kids medium. I know you guys don't think it is... but still. I like the show how it is, and I maintain that it's probably aimed more at our crowd than the kids... but still somewhere between.
Guys, if you're going to guess the intent of the writers, then unless you bring one of the actual writers into the conversation you're going to keep going around in circles.
This is a TVY7-FV rated show, part of a programming segment called "4Kids" and supported by merchandising targeted at kids. According the network it's "safe" for kids 7 and up who can tolerate a little violence. It hits you over the head with vital plot elements (Don: "OMG MY LEG! THE GIANT MUTATED BEASTIE BUG GUY HURT IT! OWIE!!!" x3) and it has "cool" things and silly jokes that kids are supposed to like. By any classic definition, this is a "kids' show."
But it's for kids the same way The Hobbit is. Which is to say, it doesn't matter. It's can still be high quality stuff.
This convo is making me dizzy. Or it could be the fever. Better go lie down before my family has to resort to handing me over to my mortal enemy to be cured. ;) Though I can't figure what Clay Aiken would be able to do for me.

Speaking of that, what do you think about Donatello in Stockman's hands? It makes me nervous, a bit. Just because of Stockman's obvious jealousy for our brainiac Turtle. That kinda creeped me out this episode, actually... just how keen he seemed on putting Don's talents down and gloating over the fact that he's now completely buried inside this primal beast.
*sigh* Sorry, everyone. I must have been in a ranting mood... and that's the kind of loserish stuff I rant about. :P

Could anyone with the episode taped give me the script from that last part? Obviously Bishop said something that made the Turtles go D: ... but I missed what led up to it.Oh! Sorry, Mask, I forgot you asked for that... do you still need a recap?
EDIT: Ah, I just did it anyway. *shrug*
Leatherhead freaks, and falls on his knees on the floor, Donnie is gonna attack him, when he gets hit with a tranquilizer dart. The next shot reveals that Leo was the one who tranked him. "Donnie, I'm sorry, but this is for your own good." Don comes *growl snarl* down the catwalk at Leo, who walks slowly toward him, steadily shooting tranquilizers (and looking like he's really steeled himself to do this, it's hard for him), until, after eight more (!), poor Don finally gets sluggish and collapses. Leo crouches at his side, rubs his shell, "It's gonna be all right, Donnie". (blub! )
Next scene has Donnie floating in a containment unit. Baxter says: "Hmm. Donatello's body appears to be breaking down at a fantastic rate, due to secondary stage mutations caused by the outbreak accelerant. He doesn't have much time. The animal was right," he adds, snidely, referring, I think, to Leatherhead, who growls at him, not amused. Leatherhead says, "Leonardo, this is wrong. We cannot leave Donatello's fate to these devils. Stockman cannot be trusted. And him!" he indicates Bishop, "if you only knew what he was capable of!" His eyes change. He's not a happy croc.
Raph chimes in. "Leatherhead's right, Leo! Bishop's the enemy! He's the one that caused the outbreak in the first place!"
Bishop says, "Stockman created the genetic accelerant on my orders. What you call the 'outbreak virus' is an unintended side-effect of... one of my operations."
Leo says, "Do you have a cure?"
Silence. Bishop looks at the guys. The guys look at Bishop. Bishop subtly looks at Baxter. Baxter shakes his head minutely. Bishop looks back at the guys. "Yes," he lies, with a smug smile (hisssss!). "But as I said earlier, I need something from you." The guys exchange narrow-eyed glances, and Leo says, "Name it."
"A simple errand, really. There is an item I require. A relic, that may prove crucial to my work. I want you to retrieve it for me."
"Retrieve it? From where?"
"New York. In fact, I believe you know the woman who currently holds it. Her name is... Karai."
Everyone goes, gasp! The end. :goofygri:

I think I'll just drop out of this discussion. The most 'insulting' phrase in my previous posts was "Earth's calling Putrescent" which wasn't an insult at all - just a more original way to say "Get real". But yeah - if you anyhow felt insulted with my remarks, I'm sorry for that. Didn't really mean to hurt you.
@ Masked Ninja - yeah, you are right. This show is more complex and mature than an ordinary kid's show. that's true. I really enjoy watching it, even though I'm almost 23. But I like its fighting scenes, the 'Mirage comic' basis and because it's frigging TMNT show for God's sake - and TMNT are one of my best childhood memories. Despite all that, I'm not even trying to cheat myself I am the prime target for TMT creators. "Cause TMNT is like candy or chocolate - could be enjoyed by everyone (and is secretly consumed by the grown-ups), nevertheless, it is still tailored to the taste and needs of one certain market segment.

:o WOW!!! What an ending to Good Genes Part II!!!! All I can say right now, until more of you comment, how will this correspond with Fast Forward and the Lost Season?
Maybe they wont be in Fast Forward because the turtles already delt with all of it in the lost season.

Excellent all around. But I thought Don looked funny without his gear.

This was an interesting ep in that we now know what the mystics look like! I almost feel sorry for Karai tho. Now she doesn't have the mystics...and then Bishop was betrayed...HAHA!...But hey! Donnie's back!! WOOT WOOT! :D And thanks to Leatherhead (who's apperantly way smarter than Stockman) a cure was found!!
But oi...those Mystics (who resembled Atlantians somewhat) are gonna be trouble now. Should be interesting what all happens next week and who the new friends are and uh what a Chinese junk ship has to do with anything (perhaps the origin of the mystics?)
Im just wondering where Bishop's HQ is now that he destroyed Area 51 (why did he do that??)???
Oh and my fave quote goes to Leo this week:
"A wise man once said I've got a bad feeling about this.." - Leo
Only problem with that quote tho is too many people have said it in the SW movies. Which wise man is he refering to?? Gui gon??? Obi Wan???

It's great to see Donnie back to normal. Nice to see some of the old Leo is still there, too.
I noticed that during the fighting scene when Karai demanded Leo to face her after retrieving the pendant, Leo was up to the challenge. I think he still feels a bitter resentment towards Karai. I thought he had gotten over it, but I think the scar is still there and it's not gonna go away. I was wandering why Karai went beserk and starting shrieking like that. The pendant was supposed to keep her hold on the Mystics. I was wandering why the Mystics were against Karai of being the leader. I think it's because the original Shredder had seniority over the Mystics. Who woulda thought that the Mystics believed in seniority? All and all, I liked how Karai took charge. She's getting more and more like her daddy each and every day. *sigh* Her father would be proud. (I'm not saying this out of sarcasm).
Next week is the season finale. I just scratched my head and wandered, 'Why aren't they ever gonna show 'Insane in the Membraine? Is it really that scary to watch?'.
Now it looks like Leo and Karai are gonna formed a reluctant alliance. Uh oh.

It's cool to see a happy family together once more.
Bishop was pisted to find that medalion fragle to lazer beams.
And his mysterious dealer being one of the Mystic Foot guys. And looks like they're determined to get Oroku Saki/Red Utrom back.
I give this one a 5/5
It's surprising they got away with Area 51 getting bombed, but knowing Bishop he'd probably put the blame on the Turtles for the self-destruction on the base.

Sorry, but the mystics don't give a rat's fuzzy rectum about Ch'rell (The Red Utrom) as they called him and Karai "pretenders". Their aim is to resurrect the REAL Shredder.

Well how should I know, the only ones I know are Oroku Saki and Karai, and those mysterious figures that resemble Shredder from "Tales of Hamoto Yoshi"

REAL Shredder.
Wasn´t there speculation about that there would be a "Worms of Madness" Episode this season?
Maybe this was where they were heading with the lost season. Man I wish they would have gone with their original plan and never made Fast Forward.

Then I probably did miss something when I saw it during the first time.
When it's availble on DVD, I'll rewatch it for myself and see which part I didn't remenber about a Real Shredder and not the shredder we're always talking about.
It was the only scene with karai. She was talking to the Mystics and they mentioned something about the original shredder, and how they had no respect for her or her father.

I remember one of the Mystics also referring to Shredder as "That Utrom abomination".

Leo (was it Leo?) knows how to fly the helicopter and that's no mean feat
Can't be that difficult. As we've seen in this weeks episode, even Casey can do it.

Hey guys i have just signed up on the this forum. And this weekend was the first showing of Good genes episodes in the uk. i must say i was drawn in by the emotion and action especally of these two episodes.
Also i have heard the cries of fustration that usa didnt show insane of the membrane. i have to say that they showed it over here in the uk.:) however i didnt get to whatch cause away at an event at the time. what i dont understand is when the orginal tmnt first came out they cut of ninja out of "teenage mutant ninja turtles" and replaced it with "hero" how lame is that  and they cut out mikeys numchucks both in the cartoon and the first movie. (when i repaced my video with the dvd it had them in). yet nowadays they show episodes which the us dont dare cause it is disturbing.
wtf

Guess just 'different times'. Read the "Ninja" changed to "Hero" and Nunchuck thing were due to the UK's broadcast censors at the time. Much like "Insane in the Membrane" wasn't aired here due to 4Kids censors.
Thankfully, like you got the "Ninja" and Nunchucks on DVD, we got "Insane in the Membrane" on the latest 4Kids' TMNT DVD.

Hey does anyone know the name of that one episode where Leonardo goes into the future and the turtles were split up and splinter died and raphael and donatello were at war with one another and Michaelangelo was the only turtle who was fighting the bad guys and he only had one arm?

That's "Same As It Never Was", part of a 5-episode story-arc. And it was Don who ended up in the future, with Leo & Raph being the ones feuding.
