Well my school has a Ninja Turtles club!!! woot!!!! which I get to be president of!!!!! Double woot!!!!!!!!! But we only have 6 members...
Anyways, we plan to have a Ninja Turtles newsletter, called the shell shock daily. Despite that it will probably come out more than a month between issues. Anyways, I'm wondering if anybody has any suggestions or would like to write some articles to help us out? thanks!! :D

welll first off you could write an article of the new show and include the series over view in there plus add some of the new character designs
Links to TMNT official and fan-sites would be cool. Like a "site of the month" or something (start with the bigger ones.) Articles on the new show would be a good start, previews now, reviews when the show starts. Maybe an expose on TMNT fan groups (Leo-fans, Mike-fans, etc) and the TMNT characters themselves. TMNT question column. Articles on the toys.
I would be willing to write articles if you need. *sticks a Press Pass on her shirt*

Most people just think TMNT as children's thing... They arent awere of it's true nature. It's a pity.

But I know what you mean, the majority of people, especially around my age don't know much about Mirage or anything

I think most people don't like the TMNT anymore because they are too old and not the new thing, most people tend to stay with the latest pop culture. The fact that it is animated is a major turn-off to older kids because they can compare it to like pokemon or other crap. I am only giving the majority of viewpoints, not my own...
Jephael
12-27-2002, 11:59 AM
Just because it's animated doesn't make it a neccesarily a kid's thing. Just look at The Simpsons. The basic logic there is anything animated usually appears to be a kid's thing at the first glance, but people can be in for a surprise.
Karpo_007
12-27-2002, 12:23 PM
I hope it will be like like Batman TAS or Justice League adventures, a show that kid and older people can watch. And becuase it's based on Mirage, that will likely happen.

My biggest worry about the new show stems simply from the fact that it's on *the FoxBox*. I mean, right now, their entire Saturday Morning lineup sucks. Could the Network screw our turtles?
Maybe I'm weird, but I would feel a lot more hopeful if KidsWB or Cartoon Network was airing it. Because they have a much higher rate than FoxBox when it comes to quality shows.
But on the subject of a TMNT club: Bit too late for me to try to start one at my school, I think, seeing as how I'm graduating in May. Hmmm...but maybe I can figure out a way to sneak them into my comic for the school paper. (Hey, if anyone here can write a funny script for a one or two page TMNT comic, drop me a line! I could definately use a lil' help!)
Peace. :)

I realize that animated shows can be popular like Simpsons. But that is because it is a comedy with adult puns as well. Turtles is too much like an action hero type show where they are here to save the day and stuff. People only interested in a fantasy type cartoon would be interestedin TMNT...With the Simpsons, all you need is a sense of humor...

Im not sure could a channel really affect the show that much... Well of course it could, but im sure Laird wouldn't be a part of it, not after Next mutation, wich was clearly a disapointment for him. But the company then too was fox, and they forced female turtle into it... Well Im sure this time Mirage has a contract to prevent that kind of stuff... They never sell their characters, they just sell licenses.
Nturtle
12-27-2002, 04:12 PM
Thats a big worry for me too. If it was on CN I would be really happy. But onl people with cable would get to see it then. saban is the company that really messed of next mutation. But Fox had a integral role in it too. The company that does Jackie Chan adventures is better. But still I am worryed

You could always just have a character reading a TMNT comic/wearing TMNT shirt/toys in the background. Subliminal stuff. :D
Nturtle
12-28-2002, 08:32 AM
Yeah or maybe a TMNT poster in the background, the kind of stuff that makes people say "Oh yeah!!! I remember that show!!!"
ChibiKasai
12-28-2002, 11:51 AM
Yeah, I was thinking a shirt, maybe. That actually is a continuing trend in my strips, having my characters wear comic/video game shirts.
Ex: 1st strip, Ren had a Sonic & Knuckles shirt on (which, surprisingly, exist.) Dev wore a Pac-man on his.
2nd strip, Ren's shirt was a reproduction of Orphan's costume from "X-Statix"
I'd still like to do a staight out Turtles strip though, just to get the "Wow" effect out of the students. (Subtlety? Trust me, for people at my school, getting hit by a brick is subtle. They never notice fine details. :( )
Peace! :)
Well, if you want help for that, we're gonna need to know what type of comic it is. Gamer? School? Fantasy? Transforming Samurai Mechas? What? :D
"Hey, where'd you get that *instert food item*?" - "Back of the fridge."
"Looks kinda nasty." - "I'm sure it's okay."
*Ninja Turtles walk by. Eyes follow them.*
"Um, you may wanna check that expiration date."

There's never actually been a theme, or plot for that matter. I just draw pretty pictures, and try my very best to make it humerous. (Which it usually isn't. Guys in my psychology class say my writing is like "pain". What can I say? I just can't make with the funny like others can. :( )

I'm a little late, but I've got some suggestions you might wanna try out. How about comic reviews? Or interesting (but little known) turtle facts? How about features on the old TMNT toys? Maybe some episode synopses? Fanart? Fanfics? The possibilities are endless. ;) Good luck! A Ninja Turtles Club sounds like so much fun.

I drew (badly) a short TMNT comic back in second grade. Nothing realy "TMNT-ish" other than the characters though.
First frame: Mikey tosses up pizza dough at "Pete's 'Za To-Go", smiling.
Second frame: Dough is back in his arms.
Third frame: Dough is back in the air, there's a "knock-knock" off to the side, Mike loses his attention and looks toward the door.
Foruth frame (narrow): Giant "SPLAT!" written vertically down the middle of the frame.
Fifth frame: Enter April. She asks if Mike is OK? Mike responds, "Happens every day."
Yeah...kindergarten humor

But Seriously:
I think nearly everyone of us tried to paint an own TMNT Comic, but today I know that I`m not a Comic-painter (or whatever it`s name is in english  )
Why do I know it?
In Cause of your Posts I searched my old Comic and (sadfully :D ) I found it.
I tell u it was horrible to see, what a Child is able to do with a pencil and a few colours :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Also, i must tell u that I`m wondering that there are 7 pupils that are turtles fans in the same school, maybe in America the Turtle Boom is much bigger that it ever was in germany.
I thought i was the only one who loved the series and the toys, and the others laughed about my interets :(
