View Full Version : E-mailed Dan About Episode Order

Spitfire

4Kids has been airing the episodes in a different order than the
scripts were written in. I'm afraid that I don't know why they
decided to do this.

Thanks for writing!

Stupid 4kids -_-

Who is Dan?

"Dan" is Dan Berger, the Webmaster of the Official TMNT website, ninjaturtles.com.

And what is the right episode order?

As for this part, you'd have to e-mail HIM to find THAT out. The website has the e-mail addy where you can contact him. A lot of us around here do that on a regular basis about TMNT-related stuff.

Although he might just post the eps in the RIGHT order (hopefully) in the ep-guide at the site, irregardless of how they've been aired on 4Kids lately.

Me, I'm going to e-mail him and ask him that myself.

And Spitfire, just for the record, I TOTALLY agree with you about 4Kids being stupid about this. *grumbles* Peter should look into getting his own network for the TMNT toon...............

Anyway, peace.

someone on another board actually said the "missing" episode with all the Baxter stuff was deemed too disturbing for the kiddies. I'm not sure if I belive that considering I know nothing of that poster, but i guess it could be plausable....

Yes, it does.

The list on www.ninjaturtles.com has the episode in the airing order from 4Kids. So they are also in wrong order there.

From the "Adventures in Turtle Sitting" thread (http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showpost.php?p=401682&postcount=88).

This is just speculation, but maybe it´s worth a try.

So, I think this has happened. Insane in the Membrane is supposed to be shown as episode 97, a tale of Master Yoshi is the real 100th Episode and Gameradon 101.
I´ve just got confirmation from Dan. Here I present the correct order of the episodes.

#79 - Cousin Sid
#80 - The People’s Choice
#81 - Sons of the Silent Age
#82 - Dragon’s Brew
#83 - I, Monster
#84 - Grudge Match
#85 - Wing and a Prayer
#86 - Bad Day
#87 - Aliens Among Us
#88 - Dragons Rising
#89 - Still Nobody
#90 - All Hallows Thieves
#91 - Samurai Tourist
#92 - The Ancient One
#93 - Scion of the Shredder
#94 - Prodigal Son
#95 - Outbreak
#96 - Trouble With Augie
#97 - Insane In The Membrane
#98 - Return of Savanti Part 1
#99 - Return of Savanti Part 2
#100 - A Tale of Master Yoshi
#101 - Adventures In Turtle-Sitting
#102 - Good Genes Part 1
#103 - Good Genes Part 2
#104 - The Ninja Tribunal

So, combining this with the as-aired sequence off nt.com...
#79 - Cousin Sid
#80 - The People’s Choice
#81 - Sons of the Silent Age
#82 - Dragon’s Brew
#83 - I, Monster
#84 - Grudge Match
[#85 - Wing and a Prayer - aired as #81, before SOTSA]
#86 - Bad Day
#87 - Aliens Among Us
#88 - Dragons Rising
#89 - Still Nobody
[#90 - All Hallows Thieves - aired as #86, before Bad Day]
#91 - Samurai Tourist
#92 - The Ancient One
#93 - Scion of the Shredder
#94 - Prodigal Son
#95 - Outbreak
#96 - Trouble With Augie
[#97 - Insane In The Membrane - not aired (yet?) - a Bad Day for Baxter?]
#98 - Return of Savanti Part 1
#99 - Return of Savanti Part 2
[#100 - A Tale of Master Yoshi - aired as #97, before RoS I & II]
#101 - Adventures In Turtle-Sitting
#102 - Good Genes Part 1
#103 - Good Genes Part 2
#104 - The Ninja Tribunal

ETA: Dan has also put up the list on the Season 4 episode guide page (http://www.ninjaturtles.com/cartoon/newsynopses04.htm).

I guess that leads us to the logical conclusion that the Insane in the Membrane episode is where Baxter has the accident described in the last episode (like iris mentioned) and also where the Turtles get the new truck. The new Battle Shell was shown in the beginning of Return of Savanti Part 1 for no apparent reason, so I think that it's logical to assume that they got it in the previous one. Hope they will show us that episode sooner or later so we get to see what we've missed in it. I also suspect that the cocroach mutant from Outbreak is involved in it too.

EDIT: Possibly Leatherhead makes his appearance there too, I doubt they threw him in just like that in Adventures in Turtle Sitting.

this sucks. they really need to release these on dvd in the correct order. this is probably a big part of the reason that people complained about there not being much of an over all story through out the season like older ones had… we didn't get them in order.

Hopefully screwing up the episode order is just a 4Kids thing and wont be a problem when S4 eventually airs in the UK.

*facedesk* Whyyy are they doing this? I mean, yay for the extremely-hyped "100th episode," but why not go all the way? It was bad enough when the DVDs started coming out in the wrong order... but now we can't even see them in the right order?

I think they skipped "Insane in the Membrane" for airdate/ratings reasons and they will show it later in the season. You want to put the "better" episodes in the weeks when the ratings count more. Just a guess, but it would be consistent.

But if it's true that the censors ate it, it may never air on 4KidsTV. 4Kids is supposed to be rated, if I'm not mistaken, TV-Y ... "suitable for young children" ... and don't you think TMNT pushes that envelope pretty often? Since psychodrama and implied extreme violence seem to get past the censors every season, who knows what the alleged violation might be? Maybe it was Inappropriate References to Cypress Hill.

Everything is all out of order. The DVDs and now the show itself. I'm so tempted to just burn my OWN TMNT DVDs using rips of the episodes off the regular DVDs or downloaded of each weeks episode. That way I don't have to deal with this out of order crap. I thought if I watched the show every week I wouldn't have this problem but I guess I was wrong. That's why I started watching the show cause the DVDs were so everywhere. So I put up with the stupid ads and contests and other shows.

I utterly hate everything on 4Kids. Winx club is so annoying and Sonic X is extreamly lame. ANd sometimes when I don't see the next episode preview for TMNT I turn it back on randomly to see if I can catch it. THen I happen to see Gi Joe Sigma 6. Where they took Gi Joe and made it homosexual as humanly possible.

Sigma 6 creator: Alright check it out, we took an old idea that was decent. Then we made it look like a rip off anime so it appeals to more people! But wait! We also made 2 characters look like their rejects from Naurto! So we got some more fans there. Then we got the Duke, he can be a gay role model and the two Ninjas can be toally lame and have a generic backround story that makes One Peice look like a masterpeice.

4Kids: Awesome! We need another crappy TV show to replace all that raped anime we used to show.

Problem is that as you can see, Insane in the Membrane isn't airing anytime soon, so you'll still have to wait for an unknown period of time in order to arrange the episodes. It's one thing when they swap two episodes, it's completely different when they screw them up that badly and we aren't even sure if we'll see that episode at all.

I have no idea why they are doing that. They may have an excuse here because of the 100th episode hype, but what about earlier in the season? Why it it necessary?

iris
03-30-2006, 02:39 PM
I think that, as far as the network goes, they need to do what they need to do. I don't claim to know anything about TMNT finances, but it seems to me that a show like TMNT that takes ages to make would be vastly unprofitable without supporting merchandizing etc, and the show is basically advertising that. Scripted shows (and with animation it's scripted to the hilt) have to compete with reality shows that make millions and pay their "stars" union scale minimums (like American Idol does).

If they need to shuffle the ep order to maximize ratings, I say go ahead. I'd rather see that than ugly product placements. The entire show is the product placement.

And they are packaging the DVDs in themed groups of eps because they sell better that way. I mean who's buying these? I'm willing to be it's mostly not serious collectors who want things in complete, ordered sets; it's people randomly looking for birthday gifts for kids and saying "oh they like Ninja Turtles, I'll get that."

You can bet they cut the "lost season" for ratings/merch reasons. But those of you who can afford to buy the DVDs can at least have that anyway.

Not really since up to season 3 is mostly out. I just need Hun On The Run to come out I believe. And the first Nobody episode. But there's order mess ups in Season 2 and such. And I'm sure I could find those two episodes online anyways.

The DVD order bugged me alot before because I didn't watch the show on TV I watched the DVDs only. But now I watch it on TV...but now that I watch it on TV that's out of order too...I buy the DVDs now mainly just to see episodes I can't find to DL and I havn't seen and to support them so they keep making DVDs and the show.

Hehe, a little too vulgar for my tastes, but well put. You'd think a wonderful property like G.I. Joe would merit a great new cartoon, complete with great visuals, instead of another horrible entry into the ever-growing "anime" trend.

Actually, given that each TMNT season runs for 26 eps, and 4Kids has already run 23, AND there are THREE unaired eps LEFT in this season, I figure that they'll run Part 2 of "Good Genes" THIS upcoming weekend (and Donnie will HOPEFULLY get totally and permanently cured of his infection (drat you and your money-grubbing ideas, Bishop! Gripes me that you share the same first name as my paternal great-grandpa Johnson!), THEN run "Insane in the Membrane" (April 8th), and THEN cap Season 4 off with "The Ninja Council" on the 15th, wherein we will more than likely dicover just what fate that the Ninja Council has in store for our beloved Boys in Green. MY guess? "The Ninja Council" ep will be the one that segues into Season 5: "Fast Forward". But that's just MY guess, and humble opinion.

Anyway, let's NOT give up on "Insane in the Membrane" QUITE so quickly, okay? You NEVER know what's gonna happen with TV programming. Besides, I just checked Yahoo's TV schedule thingy, and it was blank. So THAT means something, I know. I doubt SERIOUSLY 4Kids is going to short us an ep when they paid for 26 to start with.;)

Anyway, peace.

EDIT: And tortugapower, you left OUT #104, "The Ninja Council" ep. Or is that because it hasn't AIRED yet?

Haven't been here for a while, but I thought it might be good to clear up some confusion.

Insane in the Membrane was censored because it was deemed "too disturbing for young viewers." This is true. We will never see this episode aired.

That is, unless enough determined fans write letters to the people at 4kids, which I am aware one person has already done on another board. Enough angry outbursts might get them to A) not censor our show, and B) start showing the episodes in order -- or at least not screw up the order on DVD. The guy to contact is Michael Cimini, and he'll forward messages to the right people. He may also filter messages, so be careful how you express your anger.

Nice to see you still alive and kicking, Fled. ;)

You know, seeing as the Turtles were so surprised to see Baxter still alive this past episode, he must have "died" in a pretty spectacular fashion. I can see how such a thing would be censored... Exodus was pretty intense as it was, with Mikey's knee being broken and Leo being impaled onscreen (though strategically so we didn't see the entry point or blood).

Heh. Got any friends who think this show is for four-year-olds? Tell 'em an episode wasn't aired for violent content. :P

I'll certainly have to look into civilly expressing my complaints about the DVDs and unaired episode. Even if it's "too intense," it's messing with the continuity.
