View Full Version : Lone Character Spinoff Scenario
Let's pretend your old senile Uncle Joe is a multibillionaire TMNT fan. For your birthday, Uncle Joe has bought you the ability to create your very own series based on the TMNT! It can be a TV show, comic book, touring rock opera, anything. You can hire anybody you want and have unlimited funding. This is great! But there's a catch. Due to Uncle Joe's impossibly complicated legal entanglements (where do you think he got all that money?), you can only use ONE character from the TMNT universe. :tsweatdr:
What character would be the best? And what would the series (or whatever) be about? Pick any character-- it doesn't have to be one of the turtles.

I bet half of the people here is going to choose Casey Jones and the other half - Usagi Yojimbo...
... thus I choose Turtle Blimp.

I think it would be obvious who I'd choose. Duh.I think a spin-off of Raph going off on his own, like maybe x-country trip by foot...(no pun intended) and he runs into all kinda of experiences from kicking the butt of some low lifer to falling in love to taking down a mob boss.
Ooo... I'd watch that, Buslady. Except I think I'd have him get involved in the mob. :D

I gotta admit, I'd never have thought of that in a million years. But I can see it now...
Turtle Blimp. The plight of an undocumented dirigible in a foreign land. Kidnapped and technologically enhanced at a young age, she was forced to run dangerous missions for the violent vigilante group who bent her to their will. Now, battlescarred and on the run, she would have given up hope... but for the kindness of a young Parisian schoolboy who gives her something she has never had: friendship.

Casey Jones. I would totally watch a show about him rambling through the American southwest in a beat-up old van with his sidekick, a ratty old mutt named Cannonball. He'd get in all sorts of wacky adventures, scrapes with the law while solving mysteries for the locals as he drives through their dusty little towns. Think Kung Fu:The Legend Continues meets Dukes of Hazzard meets Scooby Doo.
If only I could pick two characters, I'd love to see a wacky sitcom featuring Shredder and Krang. I invision an episode about how Krang's robot body eats all of Shredder's peanut butter without replacing it, so Shredder paints a big white line down the middle of the Technodrome that Krang isn't allowed to cross. Half-way through the episode, Shredder realizes that the bathroom and TV is on Krang's side, so he stages a military coup and then invades. It end in an epic laser gunfight, followed by surrender on both sides, a group hug (foot soldiers welcome) and freeze-frame jump high five.
