If you're a rich kid, you don't have many big worries. I mean, you're never broke, you can be spoilt all you want and the most annoying thing is that you have to go to fundraiser-stuff with your parents. And that's just the problem Nico, Alex, Molly, Gertrud, Karolina and Chase have, they're parents are filthy rich and every year, they host a private fundraiser at Alex' place.

But... the parents have a different idea of what a fundraiser is. According to them, dressing up in costumes and praying to some weird deity and killing a girl is fundraising. Now, either the parents lied to the kids or they're just whacked. Whatever the parent's problem is, the kids decide to run away and take their parents down. And it gets worse, they find out that each of them has a special ability or a gift. Gertrud soon has her own dinosaur she names "Old Lace" and Chase gets gauntlets called "Fistigons". Every teen would find that weird, right? And so do the runaways... but at the moment, they have bigger problems, since their parents are worried about the kids telling someone what they saw and so they hunt the kids.

This is the comic book's premise. And the comic book is one of Marvel's best titles lately. Volume one was really, really good and volume two isn't too bad, but it's nowhere near as good as V1. Especially the last couple of issues with Molly being in that Oliver Twist-thing was pretty lame. But the return of "The Pride" looks promising.

So, who read it, who knows it, what are your thoughts? We can't let this section just die, you know...

Heh, I was just about to start a thread similar to this. Trying to get as many people as possible to read this book.

Anyway, I love this title. Easily my favorite title month after month, no other titles(IMO) even come close to this one(except maybe Heinbergs "Young Avengers").

The first volume is probably one of the greatest story arc's in comics in the past decade. This is one of the books that everybody should be reading, but isn't. There's something in this for everybody; humor, action, whitty/smart writing, kick ass art, and it actually uses continuity to an advantage, instead of just ignoring it like so many other Marvel authors seem to do.

So far, I'm actually enjoying the new volume more than the first. They seem to be crossing over with more of the marvel universe, for one, which I love, and the story is progressing much further. The reveal at the end of the last issue was phenomenal.

It's great that Joey Q likes this book so much, and is doing so much to try and expose new people to the book. Between the Free COmic Book Day story and the Young Avengers(another title everybody should be reading) crossover, it's a great time to be a Runaways fan.

The FCBD comic is an original story where the Runaways crossover with the Astonishing X-men written by Vaughan himself, with art by Skottie Young (New Warriors) and a kick-ass cover by Jo Chen (The somewhat regular cover artist of the series)

There's also the upcoming Civil War: Runaways/Young Avengers four issue mini-series written by Zeb Wells (New Warriors) with art by Stefano Caselli(GI Joe: America's Elite). Both BKV and Allen Heinberg(write of Young Avengers) are acting as consultants, so it will be sure to kickass.
