Well, being as that it is Saturday, and it's only 8 hours away, I thought I would try my hand at writing these. Hope you like!
Here we are... it all comes down to this episode. This is the final episode in season four.
As we saw in the preview, we finally find the origin (maybe) of the 4 mysterious Shredder-like figures that the Ancient One tried to plead with. Are these the forces that send the turtles into the future or are they just minor annoyances to be easily dispatched of? Or could they be some kind of Mystic warriors much like their former Foot counterparts?
Also in the preview, we saw that the turtles gain some new allies. Who are these new friends, and how do they meet our boys in Green (and blue, and purple, and orange, and red! :D ) ? Also, what do they bring to the fight to help the turtles?
Plus... Mikey in Boxers! (We all know this is why half of you Mikey Shippers are watching... don't lie!)

That was a good episode, I just don't understand whats going on. I wonder why those "Shredders" had the Foot symbol upside-down...... They are probably going to battle the Foot Mystics and stop them from bringing back "True Shredder" whoever that is...... We have to wait months to find out! Noooooo!
Katie
04-15-2006, 09:14 AM
They better get it out quick!! 'cause if they are going to leave us like this...........
Why the hell would anyone think Fast Forward is more interesting than what just happened, and what is going to happen!? When am I going to get my closure!?

Our only hope is the lost season!!!

So they would actually not finish this story and have the turtles just get zapped off that dragon ship to the future? That would be ****ed up.

I'm sure Peter Laird isn't too pleased with this. At least we'll get the Lost Season to see what happens. It just won't air. This whole Fast Forward crap is 4kids idea, not Mirage's.
Yes, we've been tlaking about it for months. Now we are even more outraged.

This sucks. I guess the good news is the lost season DVDs might come out before september? I am going to buy all of those for sure!
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, pretty much, eh?
I missed the first few minutes and came in on Don chasing Mikey around the rooftop. I guess Don's had a few days' time to recoup? Being fussed over, no doubt.
Anything special happen in the first 10 minutes?
I like that ship! The deck kind of looked like a pagoda.
I wonder what Leo was going to say before Don cut him off? "I think we should..." Should what? *shrug* He didn't sound too sure anyway. Speaking of Leo... I love how, upon meeting the four others, he was basically like, "I'm the leader! Feel free to follow me!" (I forget what he actually said.) Good dialogue in this ep.

They had been letting him rest, and he was tired of not being allowed to do anyhting, so they decided to go out, for the first time in a while, and have some fun. (They mentioned fixing up the lair and a few other things in those passed months.)

i think this was a dumb way to end a season, with a whole new story? when theres millions of plot hanging all around? But hey lets introduce 4 new characters, Miuzaki ripoffs, and then 5 shredders and put them on a boat! and bring back the farting wise one! Oh this is going to be great. and then, last words of the season : welcome to Japan! I thought it was so lame. why start a new story when we have so many others left unaswered. they should have put them getting captured at the end or something, it would have made a wicked good season premire. but i just dont understand the reasoning.

Alright... Please tell me that this will be the begining of FF. That they will go train in Japan and after 4-5 episodes, they will be sent to the future. To fight that '' great evil ''. That would be ok with me. If we could just have some more informations on those guys.
About the foot emblem being upside down, I think that its the way its suppose to be. ''Shredder'' just started his foot clan out of the tribunal who is surely some centuries old... Or ''shredder'' was part of the tribunal and decided to go create is own clan with the training he received there.
Anyway, I hope that FF won't be there right off the bat. We need to know more. Fingers are crossed.

As good as this show is, I hope they transition smoothly...but I'm scared! I want the original story line....I just afraid now that Fast Forward is going to seem silly after this end.

yes. but if its the last episode for a while. i think it would make sense to close old wounds and show the established characters.the ones the whole season has been working on.
The last episode of Teen Titans was right after a huge battle introducing bunches of characters, instead of mentioning them it went to a new storyline and opened new questions. I dont think this is nessesary
The last episode of Xmen had all the characters fighting apocolypes, and Xaviar had a very good last line about the future. It was a good send off.

Does anyone remember the preview for this season? Remember Baxter was suppose to get a new body? A green zombie like body. What happened to that? It can't be the missing episode can it? I mean, like Baxter actually had time to whip up a new body while he's in New York fighting the mutants. Not to mention he was still in that robot thing.
Anyway, good episode, I'm also pissed this might end up leading to nothing. This sucks. Maybe the "Lost Season" would be shown in the summer? I mean think about it, what better way to increase rating than to show new episodes while others are showing reruns. They already have the epsiodes made. Why not show it in the summer? That just wishful thinking, though.

Your forgetting that ''evil'' can go in the past to stop ''good guys'' as well...;)
It would just make sense for them to go in the future before the ''evil'' is going to the past.
And if they indeed starts FF right off the bat, then we will have one last thing to do... Continue our lives with the frustration of not getting anything new on this story. :P

Personally I thought it was one of the greatest episodes of the season. The fighting scenes were great the dialog was perfect. They usually say to be continued though don't they? I wonder how Splinter knows about the Tribunal? For a rat with four kids he sure gets around, doesn't he?
Greatest line- I wil protect my sons.

Do you kind of understand what im saying? (im counting this as a series fanalie)When they wrote it, it was planned to be picked up on the next season. You're lloking at TMNT as a season by season sotry thing, whereas it's relly just one long story sepperated by the summer. The writers didn't know there would be a change of plan, so they just kept going into the 5th seaon, probably with the same story.

This would not be the only season to end on a cliffhanger. Season 1 ended with the Turtles being transported through space to goodness-knows-where, after all. Though I admit seasons 2 and 3 both came to some kind of a conclusion.
I'm not concerned with "loose ends" either, because there are usually some of those floating around. TMNT sometimes waits to resolve certain aspects of the story... I mean, it took them like 10 episodes before they directly fought Shredder and discovered Splinter's backstory.
On to the episode. I really liked how this was done... it moved along pretty smoothly. Though I almost had kittens when I saw the bandage on Don's leg, thinking they were screwing with episode order again or something. Thankfully that wasn't the case. I laughed at the Turtles as they acted like big kids on top of that building - those poor guys need the R&R. Too bad the freaky mannequin things showed up.
I'm a little wha? over the appearance of new characters, but terribly interested in the story to follow. Curse you, 4Kids! Curse you!!! :tmad: I really want to know what's going on here! Man, as soon as that Lost Season stuff shows up, I'm all over it. I can't believe... rrrgh.
People complain about the "farting" Ancient One, but notice that there hasn't been a single flatulent occurence since his travels with Leo? I seriously think the whole thing was an act - he's gross, but not that gross. Think crazy Yoda from Empire Strikes Back... he acts rather dignified after Luke finds out who he really is.
Oh, and I was on the floor laughing with Raph. He said two lines that were word-for-word two separate inside jokes I have with my friends. *snicker* I'll spare you guys, though.
Final judgement: Good ep - I certainly enjoyed it. I would be over the moon if I knew this was to continue next season, but...
Curse 4kids. :tgrumble:

"Ditto, tell her Ditto"
I agree with you Mask. I liked the episode well enough, but it feels a little lack luster considering the fact the continuing story is scraped for the hopeful ratings bonanza that is Fast Forward. I hope they either tie FF to this past season, or they refrence the "Lost Season" because if it's essentially a "Tales of the TMNT" season...I'd flip out. I want closure.
I must say I also have to ditto Ray in that there are some plot holes left open like gaping wounds. What ever became of Hun? What of Karai, Baxter, Bishop? Where was Fraken-Baxter?

I can understand why this was a rushed finale, given the upcoming decision to plug toys and jump a whole boatfull of sharks courtesy of a network that will soon no longer have Pokemon to be back 'em and are in financial decline.
Besides, cliffhanger finales are a risk in themselves, you don't know if you're coming back, and with the empohisis on Standalone now, no way would this have been "syndication freindly". Syndication freindly is precisly what Fast Forward is, let's not joke around here, this is going to be a toy commercial next season, an unrelated unnecersary toy commercial and it becomes all too obvious with decisions like this.
This reminds me a great deal of how Mutant X ended with "The Assault"

This was a good episode. But the thing that got me, the past few episodes of TMNT felt a little rushed at the begining, this time it felt kind of slow paced. I like the new characters and it had some great foreshadowing. But it also felt a little weak way to end the season off. But the animation was fluid and it was good nonetheless.
7.5 out of 10
Now that thats out of the way, I'm really pissed that 4 Kids has decided to say F-U to the fans and pull this Fast Foward crap out. But thank god for good ol' Peter Laird not wanting the original season 5 go to waste. I'll watch the first episode of Fast Foward. Then after I'm done vomiting I'll go out and buy the Lost Season DVD and feel good again.

OMG FF OMG:x Y?!
Just kidding. Yeah, so speaking of this episode... Let's see, the Ancient One seemed concerned about the Ninja Tribunal, though the Ninja Tribunal talked about training the ninjas to fight a great evil. There were only four of the shredders though, and if I'm not mistaken there were five thrones. So is that empty seat what the Mystics were calling the true Shredder? And another thought that crossed my mind, could the ninja tribunal be training them to chose one of them to fill that seat? So many questions...

Actually, I didn't much care for this week's episode. The story was great and all, and I really enjoyed the cliffhanger ending, but I thought the dialogue was sub-par and the animation (especially the Turtles' faces and expressions) weren't up to snuff. Did anyone else notice this?

As usual I missed about fifteen minutes of this episode. :goofygri: But I think I got the gist of it. Pretty cool episode if I do say so myself. I did kind of like the new ninja characters. They seemed pretty cool. I dunno why but I felt the Toutamonka girl must be from California or something. But I did like them all. I really hope though that this season ties in Fast Forward somehow so this won't feel so disjointed.
And on Baxter, well...that zombie body of his MUST have come from Insane in the Membrane. Otherwise why would they show a preview of it? :|

I'm not feeling so good about FF myself, but I'm still going to give it a fair shot.
I agree with you Mask.
Resistance is futile.
Well here's two thoughts I have. I originally thought that even though next season is supposed to be this Fast Forward thing, that perhaps the tribunal sends them into the future. Because at first I was thinking how'd they get there, but the tribunal sending them seems plausible, yet people on here are saying that Fast Forward has nothing to do with what happend in this story? So I guess that's where the Lost Season ties in? I'm confused, so many questions. So does anyone know when the Lost Season will come out?
But to an episode related topic, one of the seats was empty in the ninja tribunal. The Foot logo was upside down. Here's my opinion. That empty seat belongs to the true Shredder that the Mystics spoke of. He was once a part of the ninja tribunal but became evil and left. He started his clan of foot soldiers and flipped the logo in mockery to the tribunal.
Gotta see that Lost Season if this Fast Forward season doesn't explain.

Don had a bandage on his leg again... it *still* hasn't healed?! Is it a permanent injury or what? It's been a long, long time since he got that... anywhere from half a year to a year, in fact.
Er, I was going to point out that there were five thrones and one was empty, probably where the original Shredder once sat, but StealthNinjaScythe and Zog already stated that. The four there were green, white, yellow, blue. We hadn't seen the yellow guy before, but he appears to be the head of the Tribunal. (No, I'm NOT claiming that the colors mean anything, I just like that they're all different!) Slightly different robe designs for each, which I kinda like, so it's not so monotonous. Those guys are so very intriguing..
And another thought that crossed my mind, could the ninja tribunal be training them to chose one of them to fill that seat? So many questions...Wow. That would be... interesting. And kind of creepy. http://www.geocities.com/jafarnut/blink.gif
That's why it's so messed up that they left it like that.....and who knows if they get zapped off the ship at all. for all we know they start next season like none of this happened at allThat would be my bet. They didn't necessarily have time to change the beginning of the first episode of this "Fast Forward" to reflect this story. I don't think they'd want to make it so disjointed, either. If it were me (as the creative team, not as the network), I'd rather just pretend this ep didn't happen, than to confuse the issue by making the first new ep start with this story, then go a completely different direction.
why start a new story when we have so many others left unaswered. It's not really a completely new story... they've been building up to this for several eps. I'm sure they may have found a way to weave all the other loose ends into this story, or planned to just afterward (I'm SURE Karai would end up in the picture somehow, considering how she's trying to hold the title of the Shredder and all)... they're usually quite good about that. But now it's all gotta be resolved on DVD instead of on the air. Which does at least gaurantee a lot of DVD sales for them, since we all gotta know what happened... :goofygri:
For a rat with four kids he sure gets around, doesn't he?And tells his sons barely anything... what else does he know that he's not talking about? :p "So, it has begun again." Um... right. Does *he* know the history of the Shredder (either Ch'rell, or the original) and the Tribunal? Isn't that something his sons should have known about, as deeply involved with/against the Foot as they were and are? But even he didn't know that Ch'rell's Shredder was an Utrom, or that he'd been around since the 14th century. Sheesh, I'm confused...
(Not to mention the Foot symbol apparently existing before Ch'rell, even though he looks like the Foot symbol himself! The mark over his eye, and the ridges on his head, both strongly echo the Foot insignia, and I always greatly enjoyed those elements they added to his design (and it helped to instantly identify just who he was supposed to be in his first appearance). So I guess he took the Tribunal symbol and inverted it to look more like himself... *smirk*)
and if they go into the future, the would should be in shambles, like it was with Don in SAINW. This is slightly unrelated, but I've been wondering... (overanalyzation warning)
The Time Scepter moves through time trees... an infinite amount of possibilities branching off of every moment, and it's able to access any one of them. How will Cody's time-travel method work? Is the future he's bringing the Turtles to necessarily going to *be* the future of their world as it is now (er, that is, the particular time branches that we're following on the show)? His machine or whatever he's got may only trace a branch backwards, meaning his reality is inevitable for them. I wonder if they'll bring any of that junk up, or at least try to explain why it's nothing like the future Donnie saw..
Oh, and I was on the floor laughing with Raph. He said two lines that were word-for-word two separate inside jokes I have with my friends. *snicker* I'll spare you guys, though.LOL, that always kind of weirds me out when that happens. And twice, wow, that's really weird. :)
About Baxter: I've been thinking... that shot is most probably from "Insane in the Membrane". Bishop had been promising Baxter a new body if he cleaned up the outbreak (or at least, had promised him one and then denied it until he worked on the outbreak instead). I'm not sure what happened with that, but it seems to me, how depressed he is now, that he did get that body, but somehow lost it again. It would be extremely frustrating for him to be that close to being "normal" again, only to lose it, and be reduced to what little organic matter he is now, again.
The little show-off match between Mike and the wooden warrior: it's amazing how much personality you can get out of a tree stump.

GAH!!! You guys are forgetting one major plot line: When the Ancient One went to speak on behalf of the turtles in "Tale of Yoshi," He pleaded not to pick them. Then when they said they made their decision, it turns out that they said they hoped they wouldn't come out of it alive or something like that. THEY ARE NOT GOOD!!!! This is a very central plotline to this story that you guys forgot to mention. It's all a set up to destroy the turtles.
The foot symbol being upside down brings many questions to mind, one of which I think I might know the reason: It seems that a lot of time passed between Ch'rel taking the exo-suit and him becoming the shredder. They had constructed many suits by that time. When the Shredder appeared for the first time, he was wearing his "typical" outfit. He also knew the ways of the ninja, being a very skilled fighter. I believe that Ch'rel was taken in by the ninja tribunal and made one of them: Hence the empty seat.
However, upon leaving and gathering up his troops to start his own brand of Ninja, he stole the insignia and probably the Foot Mystics too. (They might as well just be called Mystics now). There's definately something a foot (no pun intended here) with these Shredder-Like people. I definately have to go back and watch Tale of Yoshi and then this episode again, because something is definately not making that much sense in what they were told... They're not being "trained" for fighting off an evil, they're being set up to be killed.
As for the Lost season: Yes, I do believe that this ties in hugely now with what the end of the season deals with. Hopefully, they release it either over the summer, or sometime before the end of August, cause I think I'll die if i don't know soon.
Once again, Fast Forward is NOT a spin off. It is indeed the (new) 5th season of the TMNT. Remember, Dan said that the majority of season 5 will take place in the future, but there will be a few episodes where they are in our time. I would imagine 2 to start the season out with, and 1 or 2 to finish the season out with. However, I am highly pissed that we won't get to see anymore of them from this season cliffhanger until the Lost season is tied in directly with this.

That's not what they said at all. They said that they will decide whether the turtles live or die, which I think now they were talkin' about those trials the turtles would have to go through. So no one 'forgot' anything.

Then when they said they made their decision, it turns out that they said they hoped they wouldn't come out of it alive or something like that. THEY ARE NOT GOOD!!!! This is a very central plotline to this story that you guys forgot to mention. It's all a set up to destroy the turtles. They said, "We will judge the Turtles. We will decide whether they will live, or how they will meet their doom". It sounded pretty impartial to me. And, in today's episode, they did pass judgement, and found them worthy.
What follows is my interpretation of what's going on here. May not be right, but it's what I think.
To the Tribunal, it all depended on how their chosen eight reacted to things. And they're cryptic about it; they didn't WANT the eight to fight each other, but they tested them to see if they were willing to. It was good that they weren't; that was what the Tribunal was looking for. They're not evil, but they're not benevolent, either. They are focused on getting rid of that great evil, and they want some beings of integrity, that can handle the challenge and follow it through. If a few Turtles and humans get sacrificed along the way, so be it, as long as that evil is defeated. I think the Ancient One was protesting that they wanted to choose the Turtles for this job, as it's going to be extremely dangerous, and the odds are they're not all going to live through it. Basically, between the Ancient One and the Tribunal, it was, "Hi, we've decided to send a group out to kill Evil Incarnate, and we've chosen your great-grandchildren. They probably won't all live through it, but at least the evil will be gone, and all life as we know it will continue to exist. Have a nice day!" I mean, it's for the greater good, and all, but the Turtles have family who love them, and they would rather the Tribunal send someone else to go get themselves killed.
And the Tribunal's argument to their chosen eight was, "Okay, you can leave, but Evil Incarnate is coming, and he will kill everyone you love unless you stand up to him." I think the Ancient One (and Splinter, maybe) knows that it's necessary that someone go, but why not warriors who have no families, who have nothing to lose? For the Tribunal, that's not an option: nobody else would be able to do what they're asking of them at all, and even then, their chosen ones won't all make it.
Whew. Did that make any sense? :goofygri:

Theres no way theyr'e gonna can TMNT yet. With the movie and the wave of merchindising opprotunities that will soon follw. 4 Kids is gonna keep the Mirage crew chained to their tables till they die.
Much like what Fox has done with the cast and crew of the Simpsons.
Don had a bandage on his leg again... it *still* hasn't healed?! Is it a permanent injury or what? It's been a long, long time since he got that... anywhere from half a year to a year, in fact.
It's... his security bandage? :)
If it were me (as the creative team, not as the network), I'd rather just pretend this ep didn't happen, than to confuse the issue by making the first new ep start with this story, then go a completely different direction.
If you had the power to get the megafans in a tizzy by hinting at The Storyine That Could Have Been that you like better than the Bottom Line Story That Is and that you're going to release on DVD... would you do it?
'Cause I sure as heck would.
For a rat with four kids he sure gets around, doesn't he?And tells his sons barely anything...
Maybe Splinty's just protecting his poor widdle boys from bad dreams about the big ol' scary tribunal? Besides, if they'd known about that first test, it wouldn't have been much of a test, would it? I'm just going to assume Splinter the Grey has his reasons for keeping the four ickle warriors in the dark.
Showstoppa, maybe the little tease at the end of Tale of Yoshi was intentionally misleading. I also thought it sounded ominous, what with the Ancient One pleading on the turtles' behalf, but maybe he just doesn't want his grandkids mixed up in a deadly mess. ;) At this point it seems as though these tribunal guys are at least not completely evil, if not completely good.

I honestly don't know what to make of this episode. It was absolutely nothing like I expected. Granted, tha's one of the joys of the TMNT... Always keeping me on my toes. Perhaps it was just me, but it was a bit surreal, all things considered. Though I did appreciate the fact that the test didn't involve one team being defeated and sent packing. Those fellows seem like decent enough characters, Joy especially, so it'll be nice to see them in the Lost Season.
On a rather random note, for whatever reason this episode vaguely reminded me of Gargoyles when Goliath, Elisa and Bronx were taken to Avalon. Anyway, I will say this much... this episode has me hyped for the Lost Season... and terribly uninterested in Fast Forward.

I'll post it when I get the reply.

When a show revolves around action and drama I guess I expect more sophistication out of it.
"The world is going to be destroyed, and only you 4 ninjas can save it"
Man I can't believe the Turtles being modest, if they left town for a week it'd be destroyed.
If something like this happened in the old cartoon I could ignore it and still enjoy it because it was a comedy, but come on where's this god complex for the turtles coming from?
I liked it more when they were on the street kicking people's asses than fighting trees and being our saviors. :D
All in all it was still the best show on this morning, though that doesn't say a lot when it's competing with xioalin showdown, power rangers lotr...err mystic force, pokemon, and the EDGY batman cartoon.... edgy.
I'd give it a 8/10, just because it's not the direction I would have taken it doesn't mean it's bad.

I thought this ep was very good, not to par with last year's "Exodus" but still good. It had a cliff-hanger like season 1, leaving us demanding more (well...we're always demanding more, but you know what I mean).
I, like many here, am very pissed at 4Kids for mucking things up with the show. Nice way to treat your loyal veiwers to the only good show you have:
First you mess up the dvds by having the eps out of order and mixed up.
Then you, for some bizzare unknown reason, show season 4 out-of-order.
You skip an episode of season 4.
Then, because you want to sell more toys, tell the TMNT show's crew that you want to skip season 5 in favor of what was planned for season 6.
ARG!
Even though I'm annoyed that we're being screwed over with the real season 5, I'm not going to hold it against the season we will be getting (Flash Forward).
We were going to get this season anyway, but as season 6 instead of season 5, it was something the team had planned.
I have faith in the writers, they've given us 4 (and a half) unbelievably amazing seasons of this kick-ass show. I don't think, despite the problems 4Kids has given them, that they're going to start crapping out now.
I look forward to "Flash Forward"...I just wish we had it when we were supposed to.
I think that 4Kids, by making this poor move, may have screwed the show over. Because they skipped a season, people will be severly confused about what's going on (unless they have the "lost season" dvd).
Non-fans will probably see this upcoming season as it's jump-the-shark moment, even though in reality it is not.
A lot of fans are already hateful towards this new season, and don't want to give it a chance, because it's not the original season 5.
It was season 6, it was planned, it won't be bad!
If something like this happened in the old cartoon I could ignore it and still enjoy it because it was a comedy, but come on where's this god complex for the turtles coming from?

did anyone identify the tribunal master's voices? I think I heard ancient one and Karai...I thought maybe one or both of those voice actors were in there, also. The green Tribunal member might be voiced by the woman who does Karai. Hard to tell, really. (Man, I wish they would credit their voice actors!! Have to go to websites to find out... one says her name is Nicole Dooley. There's nothing to contradict that anywhere else, so I'll have to assume that's right.)
It's... his security bandage? :)*shrugs* Maybe it left a bad scar that nobody wants to see. :p

'Cause I sure as heck would. That's what I mean. Leave the DVD releases on the path they were on already, but don't try to split it into two different paths (on TV, they poofed from the boat to the future, but on the DVD, they continued on the boat to Japan...), that's just messy. Better to leave "The Ninja Tribunal" alone for the TV airing, and just start fresh with the next season, rather than trying to somehow splice it into the current storyline.
On a rather random note, for whatever reason this episode vaguely reminded me of Gargoyles when Goliath, Elisa and Bronx were taken to Avalon. Gotta be the mysterious-boat-thing, and the "guess where we're landing now?" question. ;)
I look forward to "Flash Forward"...I just wish we had it when we were supposed to.Yeah, I for one am not whining about Fast Forward per se (I mean, I think it's incredibly weird, something I'll have to get used to, but we've had our share of weird on this show, and usually it turns out to be a good weird ;)), I'm just annoyed at what pushing it forward does to the current storyline.

Even with this season 5 (season 6?) I'm hoping that this is somehow connected to Fast Forward. It was a cool episode my rate 5/5. I'm not sure what connection Oruku Saki has with this Ninja Tribunal thing.
Is it just me or am I the only one who finds Joy cool. Cause I started to admire her once she made her appearance in the episode. Looks like I found a new female charater to love in the series.:D
The cliffhanger is different from the other ones.
I'll be looking forward to seeing the next season even if it's said to be set in the future.

Uh...no....The latest issue (Vol 4 #26) was the first intro to the Battle Nexus in the comics. Leonardo accidentally found a reference to it in some old notes of Splinter's. He did the incantation and ended up there, met some weird dude he didn't understand, and was stung by a bee (the venom of which gave him the ability to understand any language  )

This is a sad moment for TMNT fans. It's sad because a great storyline and a great show are being thrown away for a storyline that will be little more than a series of 22 minute toy commercials.
First 4Kids mutiltates the DVDs, then they aired Season 4 out of order, then they skipped what looked to be one of the more interesting episodes, now they are skipping an entire 13 episode storyline to focus on a goofy jump the shark style storyline.

I thought the episode was good. I can't wait for the lost season to come out! Im hoping its soon. Here is my theory about how this all ties in together...
-I think the ninja tribinal were the ones that the utlimate dimyo taught ninjutsu too a long time ago. Im guessin the ninja tribinal look over ninjutsu on earth and anyone that practices it.
- The original shredder was probaley a member of the ninja tribinal and went bad and created the foot clan.
- Chrell meets the him somehow and the shredder teaches chrell(oroku Saki) ninjutsu and makes him an apprentice. Somehow chrell or someone else defeats the original shredder and Saki becomes the next shredder.

As for the epsiode - what struck me was the great battle scenes in it. really good animation, good moves, good scenes. Also, the reference with Mikey to the first TMNT movie was hilarious :)
Many of you said that the Ninja Tribunal got the Foot Clan logo upside down. I think the case is different, I think the Foot got the Ninja Tribunal symbol upside down ;) I think the Shredder was the fifth member, but betrayed/left the tribunal and for some reason became their enemy.

Ok, so i skipped 2 pages but read most.....
1) Some mentioned Laird said their working on Season 6...Yes, and if i recall, he mentioned something about Season 7 (This comming from Volume 4 letter pages)
2) Liked the episode, thought it was one of the best this season. Loved the refrence to the first movie.
3) As far as 'Fast Foward' Relax, no one knows for sure if it'll start in the future, or have a few episodes and then they get trasported, Also no one said we had to wait till the 'Lost Season' before the rest of this, where this episode left us, for all we know this was setting up for the begining of 'Fast Foward' and next season.
If you ask me, 'Fast Foward' doesn't scare me, I'll wait to see it before i judge. Because as i recall, they haven't told us the mood of it, it could be a future like SAINW, It could be like Volume 4, where it would setup for interesting storylines.

What's the background of Joy (who seems to have paired up with Raph)They sort of made counterparts with all four of them, not just Joy (as tempting as it may be to say "See, they're attracted to each other!" just because she's female ;)). We don't know much about those four and their personalities yet, but maybe they're similar to each Turtle they teamed up with in some ways. Not necessarily, but it would make sense, from a writing perspective, to put the similar personalities together so we could infer what the new characters are like, from their association with the ones we know so well. *shrugs* I dunno, I'm just rambling...
It's sad because a great storyline and a great show are being thrown away for a storyline that will be little more than a series of 22 minute toy commercials.Oh, I don't think so. I think it's an opportunity for them to introduce a lot of Volume 4 material, since they are using the same premise, that aliens are free to go about on Earth, and I bet the Utroms will be involved, at least. Just because it's the future doesn't necessarily mean it's gonna be a toy-fest. Vehicles and such have always been a big thing in this show, it's not like this will be much of a change. I just look at it as a way to get some of Vol 4 in there. I still think it's a rather big change for the show, might shock some people (like me :p), it's a risk, but it can still quite easily be comic-based.
-I think the ninja tribinal were the ones that the utlimate dimyo taught ninjutsu too a long time ago. Im guessin the ninja tribinal look over ninjutsu on earth and anyone that practices it.I hadn't thought of that... or, to put a slight twist on that, I wonder if they were the ones he sent to teach the humans... I don't think the Tribunal members are human, themselves. They seem so much more powerful than that.
for all we know this was setting up for the begining of 'Fast Foward' and next season.Wouldn't they be making action figures of the four human ninja, then (to release alongside the figures of the Turtles in the future)? If this story goes into that one, they'd probably get sent to the future also, and that would make them rather major characters, I would think. *shrug* Lots of speculation, I guess I shouldn't make any assumptions yet one way or the other.

I thought this episode was pretty good. I liked how things worked out and the plot was good. This ep could've had more action, but that's okay that it didn't focus on that. I'm glad there was a reference to the first movies and the tonfa that those ninjas had reminded me of Mikey in Next Mutation.
This episode had plenty of ninjas and that really tested the Turtles' strength when they fought 'em on the building. I laughed when Mikey got those boxers and danced as he held 'em in front of his legs. The humor was really creative and it wasn't hard to understand. :D I'm glad the humor wasn't covered up by the things that went on which made it obvious to laugh or chuckle. That was good to see the Turtles and those four ninjas they met become fast friends. I'm glad they didn't decide to fight each other when the four Shredders had the tribulation. If they did that, then all of the Turtles may have not won the fight and the same goes for their new friends. I found it kinda weird how the Turtles and their friends didn't really defeat those mannequin ninjas, but the Shredders said they passed the first trial and had 'em go to Japan. I guess the fight was short for time's sake. :-?
My verdict for this episode is a four out of five cuz it felt above average and a couple thigs were left unexplained. This was still a good episode to use for the season finale. I can hardly wait for next season and I hope 4Kids decides to start where this season left off. I'm not really a big fan of cliff-hangers, but it makes me wonder what'll happen if this ep is continued next season. I'll probably buy the DVD if 4Kids doesn't air the episode that's gonna come after this one along with the episodes for next season.

Do you mean "Insane in the Membrane", Cowabunga14? I have the feeling they're gonna wait and air it when it's time for it to come up again in the season... they're immediately rerunning the 4th season again (both the preview and the TV schedule say "Cousin Sid" is up next), so they'll probably straighten out all the timeline weirdness they created by airing some of them out of order the first time. It's just gonna be a while... *sigh* :goofygri:

I had made a comment earlier that the Ch'Rel Stole the Mystics. The symbol on the Heart of Tengu further shows my correctness. However... I still have to wonder who the "real" Shredder they refer to is. Is it Ch'Rel or is it the tribunal member before Saki took over?
Also, the great threat they refer to is the Mystics bringing back the Real Shredder. It has to be it. The only reason the turtles were sought was because they were the only ones to date that had completely defeated the Shredder.
Again, instead of taking that Lion thing out of the Tales comic, in the ep that would feature Worms of Maddness, they are instead going to have it that the Tribunal helps them instead.
I hope I'm right... cause if I am, make note of this post, because I definatley want acknowledgment after the fact.
And on that note: Come on Lost Season!!!

I was like everyone, when I saw the end of this episode... are they going to just skip this story and go straight into Fast Forward or will an event occur, in Japan, where they are sent to the future? This story with the "real Shredder" coming sounds oh-so great! It would be a shame to have that story replaced by the Fast Forward story arc. But we can't make assumptions unless some official statements have been made.
I'm truly believing that they'll continue this story, but somehow, them being sent to the future in the Fast Forward arc is something that happens in their quest to defeat the real Shredder. We'll just have to see.
On with the episode... nicely put. I liked seeing our Turtles being just kids. You see them so serious all the time, it was great seeing the boys in green just goofing around and enjoying themselves. We rarely get to see that side of them anymore. It just makes them seem even more human.
Also, the fight scene with the wooden figures was pretty intense. Usually, I gasp and "oof" at live-action fight scenes, but the hits that the Turtles took really made me feel it. It's safe to say that the animation in that fight scene was simply superb! Great stuff! And I hope someone pointed out the reference to the first Turtle movie with Mikey and his nunchuk swinging! Ha, too bad he actually lost in this episode.
And what's up with the Ninja Tribunal and the Shredder rocking the same helmets? I hope these questions are answered next season. What a way to keep us hanging...
And hopefully, they use these new characters that were also abducted. They seem to have been specifically chosen, for a reason. Perhaps in the future, we can see just how important these guys are.

Notice one of the seats is empty....hmmm maybe that one belongs to our New York Shredder? Maybe he went bad? Anyways
F*** Fast Foward, unless the Lost Season covers what happens next I'll be so pissed. ERRRR I want to see what happens and I don't want to wait that long >_<
I was like everyone, when I saw the end of this episode... are they going to just skip this story and go straight into Fast Forward or will an event occur, in Japan, where they are sent to the future?
The only way I can see them skipping to FF is if someone in TPTB is seriously petty.

Here's an odd, but related, question: When's the last time Raph smacked Mikey upside the head?
Did anyone else think of Sonya Blade when they first saw Joy?
I did. I also thought Jax and Bo Rai Cho when I saw the Feragi and Tora.
Adam's the only one that I couldn't identify.:P
Man, I am so looking forward to next season! 8)
Here's an odd, but related, question: When's the last time Raph smacked Mikey upside the head?I was wondering that, too. I just wanted the first three episodes, with my girlfriend, again and noted how he doesn't seem to treat Mikey like he used to.
The last time I remember is "Still Nobody." But it might have been "Return of Savanti"... oh man, this is gonna bug me all day now.

Yeah, kinda like the "manji", a unique symbol which has a life-affirming meaning in the Buddhist religion and for several ancient cultures (including Native American Indians and Vikings.) But most people wouldn't recognize it for what it is, as evidenced by the controversy over a Pokémon card that prominently featured what many believed to be a "swastika" a few years ago...'Truth is, the symbol was the manji, which holds a totally different meaning and significance. Hitler twisted it all around back in the 1930s to create the swastika.
Any theroies on what the mystics are and what they have to do with the tribunal?

Correction, I believe he said that he's unsure if the eps will be shown in other countries, but that it is highly unlikely.

Here's a longer e-mail sent to me by Dan just today. I'll post in the other thread too... Sad news indeed...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Howdy Eric,
> Okay... I'm a bit puzzled with the ending of this season.
Everyone is - and rightfully so. I updated the FAQ today with info
received from 4Kids.
> I know you have said that the majority of season 5 will take place
> in the future
All 26 episodes of season five will take place in the future.
> but will the beginning of it wrap this season up, or are we doomed
> to have to wait until the Lost Season comes out on DVD?
I'm afraid that we're doomed to wait until they're released on DVD.
> Also, any word on when the Lost Season is due out?
The hope is to have the first release out in January, but the
official stance at the moment is "early 2007" - so it may take longer
than is hoped.
> Please tell me this summer and not AFTER the beginning of Fast
> Forward.
I wish I could, but work is still being done on the episodes for "The
Ninja Tribunal" episodes, so they won't be finished in time to be
released before 2007.
> By the way, whose idea was it to initiate Fast Forward instead of
> going in the direction season 5 was supposed to go? You or 4Kids?
It was brought about by many factors that must remain confidential,
but I can say that it wasn't our idea. Fortunately our partners did
agree to make "The Ninja Tribunal" episodes available on DVD, which
we appreciate. While things didn't go as Mirage planned, at least
there will be a way to see how that story line ends for those who are
interested.
> I hate it when stuff like that happens.
It's unfortunate - but that's TV for ya. At least we're still in
business.
Thanks for writing!
Cheers!

WTF?! Seriously, 4Kids! can kiss my ass for that move.
Has anyone emailed Dan, after the finale, about not showing Insane in the Membrane?
I don't know what's up with Episode 97 - "Insane In The Membrane". I e-mailed 4Kids about its fate and if it would ever be aired or released on DVD and haven't received a reply. If/when I do, I'll let you know via the Updates page.
Still no clue I guess...

Well atleast this has no cancelation invovled. Cause that would be worse than what we been talking about.
I think I know where that ship was headed at the end of the episode. Not just Japan but Shang Tsung's Island. The eight warriors will compete in...... Mortal Kombat.
 Sorry had to say that.

Man what an episode! I thought we would see the foot mystics this week fighting the tmnt I swear thats what was shown in the preview last week but hell I could be wrong.
Those wooden warriors are sooooo strange!
Same with those 4 shredders!
and wowza acient one came all the way to america.
I cant wait to see what happens to him and splinter.
Am I the only only one who doesn't like the turtles new friends?
it's like how Sesame Street is now...with all the differnt people..it's like they said oh lets have a black, white, asian, etc. lol man if they have earth winder and water powers I swear to god lol!
I really do like the idea of all these other people with the shredders outfit I think it's a cool idea.
This just sucks though that we are going to have to wait like a year to see the rest of this story but I have a fealing it's going to be way worth it!
OOOO and I love how the new layer is shaping up it looks beautiful!
ok I also gotta say am I the only one who thinks they are doing this whole lost season thing to make more money off us?
I mean it could all be a marketing ploy!? what do you think?
To Hell with that "Fast Forward" bullsh**. I wanna see what happens next season. Damn it, it's just not fair...
I totally agree and this is coming from some one who was sticking up for fast forward.
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So that's it??? I want the rest of the story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG THAT was a season end cliffhanger!!!
What happened to Splinter and the ancient one??? What's the story on those other four guys??? What's The Story on the Tribunal!!! WHY are they in JAPAN!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want the story!!! I want it damnit!! screw the ratings!!! I want THIS STORY!!!!
this is basicly the same words that came out of my mouth after finally seeing this episode today!
Why the hell would anyone think Fast Forward is more interesting than what just happened, and what is going to happen!? When am I going to get my closure!?
I hope we get it at all....I am really afraid about fast forward now....I'm wondering if the show is going to be fast forward forever now or just one season.
So they would actually not finish this story and have the turtles just get zapped off that dragon ship to the future? That would be ****ed up.
I wish that is whats going to happen looks to me like they are just going off to the future....the show is pullin a poochy on us it looks like
I'm sure Peter Laird isn't too pleased with this. At least we'll get the Lost Season to see what happens. It just won't air. This whole Fast Forward crap is 4kids idea, not Mirage's.
I'm going to write to him I want his opinion on this.
and this just gives me another reason to f'n hate fox
That's why it's so messed up that they left it like that.....and who knows if they get zapped off the ship at all. for all we know they start next season like none of this happened at all
I think thats whats going to happen.
Speaking of Leo... I love how, upon meeting the four others, he was basically like, "I'm the leader! Feel free to follow me!" (I forget what he actually said.) Good dialogue in this ep.
yea he likes to do that:roll: also am I the only one who noticed his shell is messed up again!!?? I thought it was fine in the last episode...and now the big chip is out of it again..I'm so confused!:dead:
i think this was a dumb way to end a season, with a whole new story? when theres millions of plot hanging all around? But hey lets introduce 4 new characters, Miuzaki ripoffs, and then 5 shredders and put them on a boat! and bring back the farting wise one! Oh this is going to be great. and then, last words of the season : welcome to Japan! I thought it was so lame. why start a new story when we have so many others left unaswered. they should have put them getting captured at the end or something, it would have made a wicked good season premire. but i just dont understand the reasoning.
answere: cause fox is either handled by mentally retarded people or monkeys or mentally retarded monkeys. lol:lol:
]Does anyone remember the preview for this season? Remember Baxter was suppose to get a new body? A green zombie like body. What happened to that? It can't be the missing episode can it? I mean, like Baxter actually had time to whip up a new body while he's in New York fighting the mutants. Not to mention he was still in that robot thing.
Anyway, good episode, I'm also pissed this might end up leading to nothing. This sucks. Maybe the "Lost Season" would be shown in the summer? I mean think about it, what better way to increase rating than to show new episodes while others are showing reruns. They already have the epsiodes made. Why not show it in the summer? That just wishful thinking, though.
it's from the episode insane in the membrain and it hasn't been shown.
and they can't show the other episodes because they are not done yet.
By the way, I noticed alot of you afraid that FF was goning to be the end, didn't Peter say in an interview they were already working on a season 6?
yea he also said he was in total controll of the show...and wouldn't let anything happen to it like they did with the 80's tmnt.
Actually, I didn't much care for this week's episode. The story was great and all, and I really enjoyed the cliffhanger ending, but I thought the dialogue was sub-par and the animation (especially the Turtles' faces and expressions) weren't up to snuff. Did anyone else notice this?
I did it was odd some of it was good...like the fighting...but like you said they're faces really crappy..
Did anyone else think of Sonya Blade when they first saw Joy?
yea I did...I thought some of the "new" characters had looked rather mortal combatish...
Hey it does! Neat!
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y72/Dierna/TMNT/GoodGenes2/Tenguheart3.jpg
Side note... Splinter's uh room at the new lair is rather fancy and there's a poster of Master Yoshi on the wall. Where'd he get that? I want one!

I bet it's a painting....

Nah, I feel ya. I'm kind of indifferent to them. And while diversity is VERY cool in my book, it always seems a little unnaturally convenient to have THAT much diversity, all at once.

yea I'm not botherd by the fact that they had differnt nationalitys of people....it's just so much for one to take in when there's like one of each lol:lol:

Atleast it's cool that the TMNT are teamed up with 4 different ninja/fighter material charaters with different nationalities.
I'll be rooting for Joy when the lost season gets released on DVD.;)

Do you mean "Insane in the Membrane", Cowabunga14? I have the feeling they're gonna wait and air it when it's time for it to come up again in the season... they're immediately rerunning the 4th season again (both the preview and the TV schedule say "Cousin Sid" is up next), so they'll probably straighten out all the timeline weirdness they created by airing some of them out of order the first time. It's just gonna be a while... *sigh* :goofygri:
(I wonder if something happened, production-wise, to keep it from being ready on time, and they figured it was too late to just tack it on now..)
That's an episode I would like to see if they ever get around to airing it. I also meant the episodes that are gonna be on the Lost Season DVD. I also know they're gonna rerun season four, but I probably won't watch most of the reruns.

As much as I love the turtles, I honestly think they'd get wrecked in Mortal Kombat.

Humm I guess The true shredder is the original Oroku Saki. He quit de Ninja tribunal after the death of Oroku Nagi, is brother. After that, he became an evil guy. Then He meet Ch'rell. The Utrom abomination promise him eternal life like all the Utroms. The only way to become immortal is to become one with the Utrom. One horrible night, after an experimentation of the foot mystic, Oroku Saki and Ch'rell become one ( with the matrix... :o). The Shredder is now complete with the etrenal life and intelligence of Ch'rell, and the strenght of Oroku Saki....
this is juste a little theory about the True Shredder. lol
