On another topic...who hates crap like this?

These subscription based gaming networks annoy the hell out of me. I know that's where the industry has been trying to push people for eons. They're taking away our rights to own anything little by little. "Pay by the Week to play", or "Buy this game and store it on a proprietary hard drive until it dies and you're fu*ked".
I guarntee you when the next Xbox comes out, Microsoft will claim incompatability with either all or most of the stuff on XBL Arcade and make people pay for it all again, or "renew their licenses" or something. They want us to buy things and have nothing to show for it. I hate it with a passion. I mean, at least let me store it on some sort of physical media that dosen't wear out, but hey, that would be against the point of the whole thing wouldn't it. That would give me a backup, and they don't want that. THey want me to pay subscription fees and redownload things. Fu*k them.
If the Virtual Console dosen't allow me to put things where I want them, then fu*k it. As for Xbox Live, I'm only buying things I want to play online for the time being, and I'm not considering them final copies as I don't really own them. I feel one day we're going to be stuck buying all our games like this. Companies are trying to force this on us. This "Direct to Drive" PC Crap and such. How convenient that we download the PC game, install it, and have no means to back the installiation file up so that "when" our PC dies, we're fu*ked. It's a money racket that goes into an endless loop.

Nobodys forcing you to subscribe. Maybe some people want to play all the old games because its cheaper and easier than going out and buying old copies and an old system. If you dont want to pay for games you don't own, then don't.

Sony is the one pushing this BIG TIME. Just read up on all the BD bullcrap they're trying to pull.

TMB, Iwata's been quoted as saying that you'd be able to attack external drives to the Revolution to keep backups of the games. We'll know in a couple weeks, I guess.

I think the point he was trying to make is that console games that you'd normally buy in the store brand new are heading this direction as well.
edit- fixed a typo

I know Iwata has, but I still fear there is some way they'll screw this up. There's always a catch.
If it works out, let's all by solid state flash hard drives. That'll solve the crashing problem.

I hate buying games period. I hate going to Gamestop and getting raped on my trade-ins and then paying high prices for crap they claim is rare. I hate buying online cause you might not get everything with it....So I buy off Amazon when I have to.

Piece of advice, NEVER trade in your games at a store EVER unless it's a promotional deal. I got my SP for $50 when I traded in my GBA and 2 games when SP was $100. The games were both worth less than a dollar trade in but since it was a promotion I got a good deal. Buy games new and sell them online if you want to get rid of them... that's the best you can do.

Or just keep them. You never know if you'll ever want to play them again.

Yeah the thing about that is there's alota games I don't even want to remember ever owning. I had some crap titles that I'm glad I ditched. Cause I'll never play them again.
What I'm doing now is saving all the games I don't want and when the PS3 and Revolution comes out I'll trade in the systems and games for them to get 100 bucks off the system.
They ALWAYS have that deal. Trade in your PS1 with 4 games and get 100 off a PS2. Trade in a N64 and 4 games 100 Gamecube. 4 games and an GBA and you get 50 off the DS.
Awesome deals! And I'll be using thbose to get PS3 and GR.

Maybe you should just stop buying completely crappy games?

The deals Spitfire mentioned are everything but awesome. Four GBA games and a GBA to get 50$ off your new DS? Do your maths, this is a complete rip-off. EB games is ridiculous.

Well if I trade in games I'm not going to use then it works out just fine. Their good deals.
When I get a PS3 so I need a PS2 anymore? Nope, and I don't need the 4 games I'm getting rid of. Alot of the time I buy old games. Ones I get for cheap prices like 5 bucks for some of them. Or by the time I'm sick of the games their so old their worth nothing.
Example: I used to love GTA games, now I think they suck. I had fun of Vice City but I won't play it again so it's perfect to trade in. I hate football games and I got Madden 2002 for free. I don't like Splinter Cell my Step Dad bought it for 12 bucks used and gave it to me after I beat it. And lastly, MGS 2. I loved it but now that I have beaten the crap out of it I don't have a need for it. I can get my 100 bucks off with it or sell it and get 4 dollars for it.
And I don't buy crappy games, I just get sick of games and sometimes I buy old games that are cheaper then renting them. So yeah...
Oh let me add that the GBA and the 4 games weren't mine. My friend gave them to me.

The point is if you sold your games on ebay you'd get MUCH more money for them. Just think about it, four GBA games and a used SP are worth at least a 100 bucks (absolute minimum). Don't let those crappy deals fool you.

Good point but, Ebay takes time I don't have and this doesn't. And until I can manage an account on my own*being under 18 I can't* then I won't be doing Ebay anytime soon.

Some of the deals EB has are good. I've made use out of them a couple times. The best is usually the trade 3 get 1 for free deal. They always have that for just about every huge game release. It really helped me out when I didn't work. I would take 3 crappy, cheap games and trade them for a brand new one.
I haven't seen them doing it recently, and I'm not really surprised. A friend of mine bought three $9.99 games from a bargin bin at Wal-Mart, then traded them in for a new $60 game.

So have someone do it for you, find someone who has a seller account and let them handle it for you.
