If the Four Turtles Weren't Ninjas . . .

Have you ever thought about what the four Turtles would be if they weren't ninjas? I think this was explored in cartoon episode #100, "Splinter Vanishes." Leonardo becomes a fitness trainer; Raphael sings silly song-a-grams; Donatello works at a fix-it shop; and Michaelangelo is a TV chef.

What do you guys think the Turtles would be if they weren't ninjas?

Hhhmmm . . . Perhaps I should rephrase my question.

If the Ninja Turtles weren't the Turtles as we know them, what other occupation would they be, or what other position would they hold?

Maybe that will clear up confusions.

In any of the universes, Donatello would most likely become a computer anylist while Leonardo would become an olympic gymnast.

As for Michaelangelo and Raphael, it would rely heavily on their personas in each universe -

Cartoon Raph and Movie Mike could be comedians.
Cartoon Mike could work at a Pizza Hut.
Mirage Mike, a writer.
Movie + Mirage Raph could be demolishion workers.

But seriously, I think I agree mostly with Jephael. *Except* for Movie/Mirage Raph and Cartoon Mike...
Movie/Mirage Raph: I agree with Karpo. Fighting for Money sounds pretty Raphael-like.
Cartoon Mike: Pizza Hut? Isn't that kinda akin to setting a bull loose in a china shop? :lol: Maybe Extreme Sports would be more to his liking.

Mike I always pictured as a writer or even a cartoonist. Donatello would be a something related to computer repair, or systems anaylist. Raph would be a vigilante, or a bounty hunter. And last but not least, I think Leo would be a teacher like Splinter.

Man why is everyone beating up on Leonardo? Was he really THAT badly hated? But here's my opinion.
Donatello- Rocket Scientist
Michelangelo- Comedy Show Host or some kind of Pizza career
Raphael- Stand up comic
Leonardo- Owner of a fitness shop or maker of some kind of exercise equipment.

they would all probably be dead... they fight all the time in mirage :P
if they weren't dead or still being hunted....
Raph- would lead a gang
Mike- would be a writer
Leo- would still be doing some sorta ninjitsu
don- would be doing something smart

I don't think they could 'be' anything. They certainly couldn't do anythign that would involve them interacting publicly with humans.

Mike could probably pull off being a 'faceless' writer.... and Don could probably pull off being a web designer or something like that.... Raph and Leo would pretty much be screwed, not that they have any real non-combative occupational skills anyway...

I always thought it would go something like this:

Michaelangelo would own a pizza shop in chinatown
Leonardo would teach martial arts ("splinter Jr.")
Donatello would teach at MIT
and Raphael (after conquring anger management) would mentor troubled kids and maybe be a police officer or help leo at his school...or both.

Yeah, and Casey is over six feet tall and 200 pounds. And he lifts weights. Raph, without his training, couldn't do anyting like that.

that's the thing you never know what someone, or something would do when put into certain situations, Raph could do it, but it all depends on his view of the situation he's in. Personally I believe that Raph would not be one to want to be weak, he would buff up in any way he could, so he couldn't be preyed upon. But that's just how I see it.

Well, they may have had the opportunity to learn to fear humans. While trying to redo the "female turtle" idea, my character was in the same bowl, and was washed away. However, she wasn't picked up by anyone. She lived in the sewers (a considerable distance from where Splinter and the boys lived) until she was driven to the surface. Got in a bad scrape with some nasty humans who realized she'd be worth more money alive. She escaped and forever learned to stay away from humans. For awhile...

So, since most animals have a natural fear of different animals, including humans, they'd probably stay far, far away from them. There would be much MORE of a chance they'd get caught than if they learned ninjutsu, but instincts are powerful. And coupled with the ability to learn (my character learned to dress like a homeless person to get food) I could see them surviving. Not much of a "life" but surviving.
