Are we ever gonna see new TPBs?
Any news on if there will be any re-releases for the first seven books, and new books following that?

Laird says he wants to. So time will tell.

I'd think with interest in TMNT the way it is the last few years it would be a good time to re-release those things.

I think Laird wants to do them in the style of the PBBZ TMNT #1 special edition reprint, which means being scanned into a computer, redrawn, inked and shaded through the computer, and all spelling mistakes righted (including 'Michaelangelo' being changed to 'Michelangelo'.) He said something along these lines in an old letters page, saying that he had started doing it but its taking ages, and that he's deleting anything that he feels does'nt fit into TMNT continuity (including the meeting with Cerebus - that's seemingly getting redone)!
I got the PBBZ special ed. from ebay, and to be honest, when i (yes i really did this) read both the PBBZ and an original reprint #1 side by side, comparing page by page, i felt that the PBBZ reprint had lost alot of its soul. not that i dont like the recent TMNT vol 4 inked on computer rather than drawn - i love it, but it just felt that it had been redone, but not as well, like your favourite movie getting remade but being not half as good as the original.

Laird's tones were always a lot cleaner than Eastman's, though. So that explains some of it.
But yeah, I dunno about the complete teardown.

I don' t really like the idea of this PBBZ thing. I like the way the comics were, even with the occasional goofs and stuff.
Guess I'll have to keep using e-bay then.

Laird said in the latest issue of TMNT Vol 4 that in about 2 years they will be done. Vol 1 and Vol 4 I believe, vol 1 all re toned and re lettered as well as all the sound effect splashes etc.
some new pages and stuff will be added some stuff re written as well; ebay is good thats where I have got most of the stuff I couldnt find in town or on the net. I need a few more issues before its complete to my satisfaction though.
EDIT - Watch the double posts, please. :)

Two years? Ouch. I guess I might be combing Comic-Con and will hope to get lucky.
