I just read somewhere that later on in 2003... there will be new TMNT games for the new systems.I really don't won't the turtles in 3d though because I don't think 3d action games really suite them. They can really stick to the 2D side scrolling beat em ups I liked so much.I know the Gameboy Advance will have these.I hope they port the TMNT Arcade game to Gameboy advance & the TMNT 3 The Manhatten Project with much more updated graphics.... That would be sweet!, Can't forget Turtles In Time & some brand new 2D beat em ups!!Seems like a great year to come so far!! :)

The new games are based on the New series, so there won't be any ports...

Donatello

they should be 3D just keep the playing style the same as 2D. the new games wouldn't work if they were like rpg games or anything else. the old-style level-type games with a boss at the end of each level would be best

If I had it my it would be like Metal Gear Solid like game engine since it is Koonami and all

I agree fully with Donatello...I don't know if Rpg is their nature, but hey, megaman went rpg, but then again it was crappy in rpg form, maybe Konami will learn from this Capcom mistake (even though Capcom never makes mistakes  ).

I just love that TMNT Arcade game..But as much as I'd like the new game to be like it, don't you think it's time for something different? I've always wondered how TMNT would look in 3D..What if that had a TMNT game that was like Tekken's "Tekken Force"? Pretty much a side scroller right there..Meh..I don't know.

I just want another side-scrolling Beat 'em up game, much like the ones in the arcade. This way, with the new systems, they could be chocked full of levels, bad guys, and extras, and we'd finally get to be able to play 4 player at home!

I think side scrollers can still survive wonderfully if it has a new flavor to it.....just look at the new Contra game......its brilliant! but I wouldnt want the Turtles to be side scrolling again, I've played them as side scrollers for too long, they need a make-over. I wouldnt mind seeing a 3rd person turtles game that involves lots of stealth.....ie Splinter Cell.....since they are supposed to be ninjas, but that would only be half of the game....the other half would be COMPLETE WAR!!!!! Turtles dealing out damage like never before! MUUUUAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! *ahem* sorry.....I think they'd be fun as an RPG...like the 2 Shenmue games, if you've played them.....those're great games 'cause you get so involved in this alternate realistic world, and there's tons of action and fighting.........ok I'll stop...

They should release a Turtle's revival pack which includes ALL the old turtles sidescrollers as well as some hidden games, plus the new game which can be 3-d or whatever. Added onto that, they can include extra features that can be unlocked as well after you beat the games, such as history, commercials, you know all that stuff, sketches...etc...
The old ones will just have better graphics, Everything else will be untouched. Hey, they did this with Sonic Mega Collection, except they forgot a few KEY sonic games. This sounds like an interesting idea, plus they can make the old ones 4 player if they release it on Gamecube or xbox, ps2 still has crappy player, lol. Anyone else like my idea?

it be cool to unlock the old games as mini-games in the new game
Mr. Snackpants
01-02-2003, 08:07 PM
yeah that would be cool. I think both 2D and 3D will be cool. I have a GBA so i'll be happy with the side scroller on that. And I have a PS2, I think it'lll be interesting seeing the turtles in a 3D game.
Zenrick
01-02-2003, 09:53 PM
I cant wait to see what they're gonna do for the GBA....I highly doubt any console will put the old games on it, but that'd be awesome. Video game creators are usually oblivious as to what fans of their product want to see, so they usually go with whatever works easiest. Nerds. Since Konami is doing the games again, I think they might end up going with the traditional style of the TMNT games, with a twist though. In a way I hope so, but they'd better not screw it up.

3d can be good or bad depending on the game and the same goes with 2d. As long as the fighting works, I don't care which it is. The one game I couldn't stand was the Tomb Raider series. How in gods name you moved without walking into walls constantly is beyond me. There's an example of a 3d environment that just didn't work. A good 2d is the new contra. It all depends on how they use the 3d or 2d environment. Still, I'm a fan of classic games and no system will ever be better than NES or SNES!

Sure there are systems better than them..But, I guess no other system can capture such memories as they did.

To clear things up:
I never said 3D was bad. If anything, I love 3D just as much as the next man. What upsets me is when people hate a game just because the graphics aren't in 3D. That's not the defining characteristic of game, ladies and gentlemen.

I think my idea is the best, they would make a lot of money off of it too, because people are going to be getting back into tmnt shortly and younger or new kids want a taste of the original gaming, at least i think they do...
it would be a little something for all of us... :)

The reason they could do that for sonic was because all the games were 2d and hardly took up any space on the disc. To put all the old games PLUS a new one PLUS extra unlockables...it just wouldn't work. Plus they would NEVER do it. If they came out with a new game they wouldn't give you all that extra stuff with it. Unless you were willing to pay $90-$100 for just the single game. If they were to do it they would make it 2 games. One for the new game and then one for the old game and unlockables with the latter being around $40 and the former being the normal game price.
Tokka-B
01-04-2003, 10:46 AM
Yea, I am not saying they can do that all on one disc. They couldn't do it with Sonic either, as they only brought 3 of the good ones and the unlockables seem pretty cheap and they weren't all sonic related. They are probly going to make another disc with the rest of them, I hope...
I think they could have a really great selling revival pack if they put enough thought into the project...maybe they can put 2 discs in the one box and sell it like that, but then again they would have to edit the boxes a bit...

I say have a whole friggin' LINE of TMNT games: Make the new one for all systems, then perhaps release "vintage" re-releases of the older games separately for the GBA only...

No one is going to buy each game seperately...plus, it is too expensive to sell an old game for 29.99

I will buy them seperately :P But only if they upgrade the sounds and make some new animations like they did for the Mario Bros. games.
Oh and the new Contra was 3D, not 2D for whoever said it was 2D. Its just sidescrolling.....but completely 3D. Pretty game. :)

I've bought a lot of games around $90-$100...Hell, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City was $79.99...Jak and Daxter was $88.99 or something like that.

lol what a load of crap. How many classic 2D games has there been........i mean when u think about there has been quite a few. Mario, sonic, Mortal combat, Street fighter 2, and the other millions i cant think of now.
There is no way 2D games suck, just cause one may suck doesnt mean they all do.

Think with an open mind......I think he meant that any new attempts at a 2D game would suck......and I agree with that, 2D games that WERE made are so completely awesome for the memories they've given me and such, but not to see any improvement over the years would be depressing because we know that it would just be an attempt to stick with something that doesnt work with the times......its kinda like 80's butt-rock.....they had poofy ugly hair and it seemed to work at the time.......now they still have their long hair thinking its cool........but it way isnt cool at all.
My point.......things need change, and 2D is over and stuck in my memories (and on my computer with my millions of roms :P ) 3D is the standard.
(my opinion!!! Dont harass me over it!!!! ;) )

Exactly Stone I was speaking of the games in american $ terms since most people here are American. I'm Canadian as well so I know how you feel. Anyways they could fit all the Sonic games on the disc they just didn't for whatever reason. They probably figured they could make more money on a Sonic Mega Collection 2.
Tokka-B
01-05-2003, 12:45 PM
No, they actually couldn't fit all of the games on one disc, and when asked why the SonicTeam couldn't add Sonic CD and Sonic R, they said they didn't have that kind of space on one disc....I mean, there are already 12 games on it already, there are many other sonic games, so they will probly make a second mega collection, they better.

lol well that was my opinion too and i felt harrassed lol  , hehe na, all i was, saying is that u cant say something is crap just because its old. There is thousands of things he COULD have meant.
I wouldnt say 2D is over... i mean what about starcraft and AOE 2 - u cant tell me they werent/are big?. Sure man i totally agree that 3d is better, yet i would class that any game attemp at 2d would be crap :) .
I mean look at star wars force commander - that was a totally 3d game, yet it did nothing and was a flop, yet star wars battlegrounds with the 2d AOE engine is easily more popular.

No they can fit it on the disc. Do you know how big a sonic game is? Download a rom. They're very small file size. Even sonic CD and sonic racing. You could fit every game on that NGC disc onto a regular cd. Which means they had plenty of space to fit ALL the sonic games. A NGC disc has more room on it than a normal DVD disc and that can hold TONS more than a regular CD.
Tokka-B
01-06-2003, 04:08 PM
No, there was an interview with the sonic team about this, I just can't find the site...but the dude in charge said they couldn't fit it all...so I don't feel like going against his word on this...
Peanut
01-07-2003, 05:11 PM
Dude you HAVE to realize that it's a lie. Whether they said it or not. The fact is the disc CAN fit it but they chose not to so they could MAKE MORE MONEY! It's an obvious ploy and no one in the gaming community should think otherwise.
Tokka-B
01-07-2003, 05:21 PM
You really think Sega would do that?!? They got all the money they need, they choose to continue making games because they are willing to now, and we should be proud because of it...Sega is a friendly company that's been around for a long time...I don't think they would do that to make a few extra bucks they wouldn't need otherwise...
Karpo_007
01-08-2003, 04:39 AM
Well the rom images size cannot be compared to the size the games are in GC compatible format. I don't think they would code a genesis emulator for it.
Tokka-B
01-08-2003, 02:25 PM
Yea, when they convert the game to the Gamecube, the size gets larger or else there would be no point in playing it, because it wouldn't run smooth or even play any differently than the genesis...
