TMNT Volume 5 will be released in 8/29/2006. You can see it on Navarre.com, search for Turtles. It's ironically the same day that Funimation released TMNT 3.8 - Rise of the new Shredder.

IMO the episodes this volume has are very solid,

lets hope they do a little better on the box art for this release...

Fantastic episodes. One of my personal favorites, Super Bebop and Mighty Rocksteady. Great character introduction episodes like Metalhead, Leatherhead, and Usagi Yojimbo. Can't wait.

Though I agree, the box art needs to improve, I'd prefer secondary characters on the cover for once, but I doubt that'll happen. I'd like to see them try and copy the new shredder art and try and pass it off as old shredder haha

Yeah, the box art has been really lousy. Can't wait for that DVD though. Finally I get to see those episodes in good quality.

Interesting.... the beak is too narrow and the chin doesn't help any. Definitely nice that they're going back to old school turtles, what with the colored arm bands. Still needs more work.

They should get tmnt fans to do the artwork, maybe someone here could submit their old toon artwork to artisan, it's worth a shot.

Much better than the previous one. Yet still kinda obnoxious.

I've seen fanarts better than this cover.

Who cares about the cover guys. We are finally getting the episodes. Be grateful. I have been waiting for the original TMNt to be released on DVD for years now. I couldn't care less about the cover art. Any way. I wonder why they are releasing Vol. 5 so late in august. It's almost 5 months, instead of the usual 4 months between releases. Do you think that means Vol. 6 will be released in early january 07, instaed of December 06??

We are grateful yet we just love to rant over the petty insignificant details.

I don't care as well. It's just strange for me that they can't use the original classic style on the covers and prefer to pay someone for a completely new design that doesn't look much better. Wouldn't it be... easier and cheaper?

Something tells me it'll be out in December'06. You know, Christmas time and stuff.

That artwork is just horrible. Someone has to write to them because it is just offensive lol. I am grateful for the episodes, but we are paying customers, and should get what we want. The customer is always right lol.

oh the humanity!!!!

I hate that cover

oh well :ohwell: at least we are getting more eppies, I just hope this batch is dvd quality, not vhs on a disc quality :dead: I'm getting a little offended with the dull coloring and semi-visible lines. Season two was vibrantly colored and sharp, why can't they all at least be dvd quality?

But who do you want to write to, exactly? Try writing to Dan Berger for the beginning.

I don't think the cover art is that bad. It would be neat if they put one turtle on each cover after this one. :P

I'm thinking FUNimation has pushed back the release of "Rise of the New Shredder" until September 19th to avoid confusion with Volume 5. A FUNi release titled "Season 4" has been showing up on some retail sites. It has the same FUNi product number as "New Shredder" does on RightStuf. Since it's "Season 4" and is the first DVD with all season four episodes, they could've decided to make it Vol 4.1 instead. *shrug*

Who else agrees with me that Volume 5 has much better episodes than Volume 4? I guess it's not a big surprise though since David Wise and Michael Reeves wrote a handful of episodes on Vol. 5 each but Davis Wise only wrote 2 episodes on vol. 4 and Michael Reeves only one. The best episodes are, I think:

Corporate Raiders from Dimension X
Beware of the Lotus
Leatherhead: Terror of the Swamps
Making of Metalhead

In fact, there is only one episode there that isn't very good and that's Michaelangelo's Birthday.

I never by a DVD for the cover art work. It's okay... but I wish Lions gate would make really ood covers like they did with the Animated ALAF/ALF Tales disks (which I don't have yet either).

I think I'll skip over the other disks, and get this one if Yojimbo is on it.

Actually, volume 4 had some of my favorite season 3 episodes on it. Ninja Sword of Nowhere and Take Me to Your Leader were definitely 2 of my favorites.
