Karai a friend or foe?

Would you consider Karai a villain? She has been against the trurtles and been their ally and help save their lives more than once. What will happen to her? Will the series end with her being on the Turtles' side again? BTW, how was it in the comics? Who would you want it to end?

The complexity of Karai's relationship with the turtles is one of the strongest running plots in the show. If you're asking if she's friend or foe, my answer is "yes" :D

She shares Leonardo's sense of honor. Well, at least she did when we first met her. Since the banishment of her "father", she has developed a hunger for revenge. That sense of honor that Leo first gazed upon is gone and all that she is filled with is hatred. Although, all she concentrates on is her vengence. She really isn't doing anything but that. Which, makes me wonder how she is able to run Foot HQ if that is all she does. I believe if Splinter had any chance to break through the lies that Saki has fed her her whole life, she would be a worthy ally. But until she finally realizes what the Shredder truly is, she'll always be a foe to the Turtles.

Despite the fact that Karai went nuts, became obsessed with her father and avenging his death, and attacking the Hamato clan...I still don't consider her a villian.

After all, she wants to avenge her father which is supposed to be honorable. It was perfectly fine for Splinter and his kids to do the same. I know Saki was a villian, but is it fair to say that Karai is wrong in wanting to avenge him yet it's okay for the good guys to do the same?

Plus, she hasn't done anything villany aside from attacking the Hamato family. She hasn't been shown doing anything criminal or horrible like her father did, she's only concerned with avenging her father. She doesn't seem to care about leading the Foot.

I will admit, I love Karai. I liked her much better before season 4 though, because she was smart then and didn't pretend her father was a good person.

I wasn't thrilled with what the writers decided to do to her for season 4 (I feel they're ruining a great character by making her so obsessed with her dear old dad). I'm hoping that in the Lost Season, she'll realize that she's letting her anger and grief destroy her and her former allies (she considered Leo her friend). I'm hoping she snaps out of it and redeems herself in their eyes.

I want the sane Karai back.
