Damn, it seems like forever since I started school. 13 years is a long time...some try to say school is fun! And I guess it can be until you get into Middle school. High school however is Hell incarnate. There is nothing fun about it. It's like going to visit Satan everyday with bad news.

But gladly this crap is over for me! Yes it feels quite good too. No more school at the moment and my whole family is happy with me. Now I get to go to college and learn stuff I WANT to learn.

If my parents managed to get any good pics I'll post them but I don't think they did since they were really far and zoom only works so well.

The best feeling, some say sex is the best feeling, I can beg to differ. A pent of 13 year long organism takes the cake any day. Such a stress reliever.

Ah, congrats...

But don't get to thinking that college is going to be all fun. Oh no. I work in a dining hall, and i talk to college kids all the time durring dead week. They're not fun at all then.

Congratulations, I still remember how I felt when I finally graduated. Now go, get drunk and have some fun. You earned it.

Thanks guy ^_^

Yeah UC kids have no fun, community kids have no fun, art students however...I've talked to tons of people who went to or are attending the college I'm going to and they said it's great! They said the art programs are really good and it's a blast. The teachers are all real down to earth and take the time to talk to you when you need it. Perfect for me. I'm going to Major in either film or graphic desgin. eee I can't wait.

Congrats spitfire, how was your ceramony?

We had ours about three weeks ago and it was quite interesting, it was so hot in the building that one of the people that signal for us to leave fainted during it.

Ours sucked, it was on a huge football feild made of astro-turf. The rubber got so hot, I was baking. The robe made it worse. The bleachers the people sat in were made of metal so I can only imagine how bad that was. It took forever to get through all 640 students O_O

Thank you guys ^_^

I would have much prefered that. We had about 6 teachers each reading about 100 names. It was nuts. Poor teachers had to wear black robes. Me I had on all black so it sucked...but hell I don't own anything but all black.

*pops her collar* I was too cool for my graduation ceremony. I skipped it and picked up my diploma a couple days later. Oh yeah.

Congrats, Spitfire. Hope ya don't mind the high frequency of elitish douchebags at art school. You're a far braver man than I.

Haha nothing I can't handle. Anyone who turns art into a contest is an idiot in my opinion. Art isn't about being the best it's about being creative and having fun. What is best is just someones opinion. They think their better but that won't be everyones opinion.

Also I'm pretty good at ignoring people so that should help out too haha

Hey congrats spitfire. Yeah we really do suck in those friggin balck robe. I had to wear it for my high school ceremony, and I will have to wear it again since I will have another ceremony for my graduation as an Infographist. But at least, this time, I won't have to wear the friggin hat !

And I totaly agree with you, art is not a competition. When I was in my infographist class, we were helping each other more than fighting and insulting each other. Hope it will be like that for you too.

I just hate ppl who are over themselves trying to prove to the world are good they are, while in fact, the best one is the one sitting in the back, not talking much but creating little wonders...

Yup, that's how life is :P

Congrats man! Where you going to college? Staying Bay Area-ish?

*pops her collar* I was too cool for my graduation

My friends in the band Smeat actually hired a cover band to play at Smeat's record release party in Chico. I'm not sure why, but your story reminded me of that

Ooh, are you gonna be an art kid? College is usually great fun - still work, but more fun.

And congrats on graduating - our ceremony was supposed to be on the football field, but rain was threatening so we had it in the gym. :dead: However you do it, it's a bother... but then you're free. :D

Feels great! Yeah College is where it's at.

high school wasn't that bad
Where did you go to school? Cause see I went to school in Hell. I went to school in a place where no one around me was like me. And all the people who were like me dropped out. So I was forced to make friends with people I would have never even talked to. Their great people but if you saw us walking down the street you would probly be baffled.

Not to mention my class was the test class. They tested all kinds of new crap on us. The Cali exit exam, new harder STAR tests, making seniors go to school during STAR tests, and harder requirements.

And need I get into how stupid the people there were? People assume just because you wear black all the time your goth, emo, hardcore,*Insert Lame Hot Topic Poser Group* Well excuse me that I like black pants and the bands I listen to don't make shirts in any other color other then black.

Welcome to Milpitas High.

I didn't have to go through any of the new test stuff like you did...but everything else seems like any high school to me...of course will judge you based on how you dress, its high school. The movies don't lie.

Haha yeah seriously they don't. Except we never had a jock crowd or any of that. Everyone is either a lame scene kid or an annoying gangster who listens to rap. I HATE rap, hearing it everyday angered me so much.

Sounds like you're generalizing everyone in the exact same manor that they generalized you. You're just judging them based upon what they wear and listen to. I don't care how poorly they treated you or how ostracised you felt. You reap what you sow, man.

Spitfire
06-21-2006, 03:13 PM
You would honestly think that! But it's exactly how it is. It's something out of a nightmare I kid you not. My school was more sterotypcial then one could imagine. Virtually everyone was apart of every fad. It was at the point where I knew everyone who wasn't like that. And to make things worse my friend told me the 5th grade kids act like that too. She was a counsoler at Science Camp and she said all the 5th graders acted like gangsters and beat the crap out of each other all the time.

Horrible! I see what your saying, but I don't judge books by their covers. I talked to alot of people and though my school was big I knew most of the people there. And 90% of them fit in the sterotypes I mentioned. The other 10 were either friends of mine or I at very least knew them.

Ha. We didn't even receive our diplomas at graduation; they gave us the case for it on stage, and then after the ceremony ended you had to go to a separate table to pick it up from some people.

Voltron and my graduation kinda sucked. It was a graduating class of over 1,000 people (our high school was very large). It was basically calling out the names in a row and going up when it was your turn. We all lined up in order and went when our name was called. It was stupid. Someone played a trick on the woman shaking your hand, though. He put his phone number on a piece of paper and gave it to her as she shook his hand. Hilarious.

Oh, and we also were handed the case for the diploma, and got the real paper later.

Congrats. I remember my high school graduation back in 1997. Mine was on the football field and that year, he had 393 graduates. My first college graduation was a pain....it was a down pour and very cold. Everyone had to sit in the stadium  because there was 5,000-6,000 graduates.
