I never got the chance to play the arcade game, but it was always my favorite part of the NES home version.

You just couldn't go wrong with the Skateboarding level.

Does anyone else here remember how many quarters had to be used between you and your friends just to make it to Krang? This game just ate quarters like crazy, and with the last 2 bosses of the game, you'd use up more quarters than you did for the rest of the game!

ive only made it to the sewer haha, and that was a long time ago. and thats on the nes =P. i really suck at that game.

I've finished tmnt 2 for nes various times, but i really liked that game, it was like my favorite game ever, so i played it all the time. :ohwell:
Nowadays there aren't many games that make me play like that.

Oh ya!And the samurai level!It'd have been cool to fight the samurai with the flying head in the arcade version :D

*sigh* I miss playing it in the arcade........playing it on an emulator just isnt as fun.....its less expensive, but I loved having people stand around me whilst I reached Shredder in the arcade......nothing beats the feeling you get when you reach a level that almost no one is willing to pay to get to, so they all gather around to cheer you on......*sigh* arcades have lost their luster :cry:

Well once I was at this college and they had a recreation room with some arcades. The TMNT game was infact there, so I got to play some of it. But the damn machine kept shorting out on me before I could get anywhere.

hey japh, go to http://www.classicgaming.com/mame32/ and get that emulater. then get the rom file from http://www.ninjaturtles.tk/ (that site is funky, sometimes it takes a few tries to view it)

youll be playing in no time! some quick tips on that emulater:

just put the rom file in the folder called "roms". leave it in the zip file.
when it starts up, first you have to type "ok" then hit "enter" to get past the next screen. once the game actually starts, hit "tab" to set some keys if you like. also, before you load the game, you can set some stuff up in the menu under "options->default options" like tell it run full screen and at such and such resolution. have fun!

I actually know of a place that actually has the original tmnt arcade. There's an arcade in Hershey park that has it. At the time I wasn't really interested in tmnt but I used up one quarter and got royally destroyed lol. But the furthest I got was lvl 4 where you fight Bebop and Rocksteady. I was playing with 3 other people, we all got raped and were outta quarters.

Heh.. I remember playing it as a kid, never got that far tough. Now I can play to Bebop without losing a credit. But that's it. I can never get past him without dieing.

I learned a simple strategy to where you can beat Krang in no time. Just hit him, turn around to let him walk a bit, hit him again, repeat the process. He'll be down in less than 2 minutes.

I can record my little method if you want to see what I mean...

I could never come up with a working strategy on Krang, in the NES version that's usually the only point I lose a life or soon during the battle with Shredder. And in the Mame version of TMNT I've gotten to the sewers without losing a life, it was damn hard though.

I never had to worry about strategizing since I had Game Genie which gave me infinite lives. I loved using that code cause it let you go through the entire game without dieing.

It's not that I wanted to cheat, but I used to get so upset when I got killed that I decided to but GG just so I could see how all the levels look.

I never did get Game Genie for Super Nintendo though.

Well TMNT in time is the easiest TMNT game by far... I always tought it was cool to get further with out dieing, And trying new records were a good practice.

Plus it didn't hurt that there was an Easy Level for beginners.

Yeah the easy Level in TMNT IV is really easy....

I never did play TMNT IV. But I always liked TMNT 1-3. I remember getting up to Krang for the first time with my friend in the NES version of the original aracade game. We were outta continues and had a lot of trouble against him. We ended up getting up to Shredder with like 2 lifes each. Of course we were destroyed but it was really fun in the end when my friend died and I had to take on Shredder for the first time alone.

Yeah the nes game was good at the time, but that the original arcade game can be emlated, there is no point in playing it... Well it's a good nostalgia trip..

Sure there's a point in playing it, it has more levels and the levels are longer.

True, more levels were added to the nes conversion and they were longer, Still the gameplay and grpahics are better in Arcade. Well I still play it time to time, But the arcade version is much beter.
