Navarre has now changed their listing for the next DVD, yet still kept the incorrect cover art and description intact. :p

I'm thinking of the 15 episodes of Season 4 left unreleased, they've left off "Insane In The Membrane". But I guess we'll have to wait a bit more and see..

The page has the runtime and description for Vol 21: Hun On The Run. RightStuf (http://www.rightstuf.com/1-800-338-6827/catalogmgr/UlK5Dob6V828puguqf/browse/item/69494/4/852/24) lists a runtime of 300 minutes for this "Vol 22" release. :)

You can't fit that many episodes on one disk, not good quality ones anyways. And I really doubt their going to let us have that many episodes for 15 bucks when we pay 10 for 5 usually and they could be making twice that. I'd be happy if those listings are right but I have a feeling their not. That's why I E-mailed Dan about it so we will see.
Howdy,
> A few fans who saw this site http://www.navarre.com/prodhome.aspx?
> ItemNumber=2193081&Prod=video have been spreading a rumor around
> that the new TMNT DVD will have 14 episodes on it.
As I understand it, the 4-14 does not mean "season 4 with 14
episodes" - unfortunately I'm not really sure what it does mean, but
it may be the numeric system that FUNimation has adopted for season
four DVD releases (thus the "4" represents season 4 - no idea what
"14" could be, though. FUNimation changed their numbering system once
already, perhaps they're doing it again. Unfortunately they haven't
sent us their past two releases, so I'm behind on what they're up
to). And there's always a chance that the web site selling the DVD
listed the numbering incorrectly.
Anyways, if you look at the last descriptive, it states that the DVD
has a running time of 125 minutes, which indicates five episodes will
be included (since episodes typically run 22 minutes). Judging by the
synopses in the description, it's definitely five episodes - I have
no idea which episode the main text is referring to (sounds like "Hun
on the Run" to me, which was already released on volume 3.7 with that
very title) but perhaps these are the other four: "Grudge
Match" (#84), "Aliens Among Us" (#87), "Still Nobody" (#89) and
"Dragon's Rising" (#88). Judging by the title of the DVD, "The Rise
of the New Shredder" - perhaps the main episode is actually "Scion of
the Shredder" (#93). Unfortunately I don't know as we haven't gotten
any info recently.
I've asked Steve Murphy to contact FUNimation - if we get any
information, I'll post it on the Updates page.
Bascially he doesn't know but he's gona check into it.

I'm thinking this is one time we may get lucky and the 2 disc/14 episode set is actually right.
Hopefully this will be;
Disc 1
89. Still Nobody
91. Samurai Tourist
92. The Ancient One
93. Scion of the Shredder
94. Prodigal Son
95. Outbreak
96. Trouble with Augie
Disc 2
97. Insane in the Membrane
98. Return of Savanti Part 1
99. Return of Savanti Part 2
100. Tale of Master Yoshi
101. Adventures in Turtle-Sitting
102. Good Genes Part 1
103. Good Genes Part 2
If this is right then hopefully TLS will have been moved forward from late January to an X-Mas period release. An 11-14 disc set (104. Ninja Tribunal and 10-13 Lost Episodes). That would be as great X-Mas for TMNT! Or they could just more FF Vol. 1.1 forward to cover the X-Mas period and leave TLS until the Spring...
Fourteen episodes would look very ugly on a single DVD.

yeah... but then if you pay 15 bucks for 15 episodes, it's still a better bargain than 15 bucks for 5 episodes, no ,matter what the quality.
I just hope this convinces them to make season sets of 1-3 as well. I'd go broke trying to track all of the DVD's at 10+ a pop.
I'd rather pay the 30 for the 15 episodes as long as I'm getting good quality.

Yeah, but each of those was a dual layer disc.
Anyway, I think the numbering system Funimation uses would be accurate for the 4-14 thing. I hope there are only five episodes on the set because I only see the series through DVD, and I want the quality to be as high as possible.

the 14 is the 14th DVD they've put out.
. I think I need to burst some bubbles before they explode. Everyone, while having the right to dream, should get your hopes back down before they're crushed September 12th. Looking through all the links on this thread, I think we've all been setting ourselves up for disappointment.
. The first link I looked at <http://www.navarre.com/prodhome.aspx?ItemNumber=2193081&Prod=video> listed it as "TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES[line break]SEASON 4-14 EPISODES". I'm guessing that was supposed to be "SEASON 4-1;4 EPISODES". The listed running time only allows for 5.5 eps anyway. The art for "Rise of the New Shredder" is up, and there isn't a chance in shell (God, I feel so dorky saying that) that they'd only charge $14.98 for 14 eps. Other sites have it listed as $16.98, but the first several volumes had that price while having less than 4 episodes.
. The other detail that stood out was the site where it's listed as 300 minutes long <http://www.rightstuf.com/1-800-338-6827/catalogmgr/UlK5Dob6V828puguqf/browse/item/69494/4/852/24>. The fact that this is the only site listing it as such should prove it inaccurate, but the source tells us plenty as well. I have personally noticed from plenty of past experience that their info about any product is too random to be taken seriously until they have a synopsis available. Also, they aren't responsible for animated projects of American origin, so they hardly care about this particular program. They only list it because it's a product of Funimation.
. So, how do I explain the slightly misleading details on all the other sites? I say "hearsay". A couple of absurd details not meant to be taken literally, which I'm sure is the case with TheRightStuf, snowballed into the realm of believability, possibly even enhanced by this discussion. But, for everyone to set their expectations too high could be cataclysmic. Fans would be upset enough to abandon the franchise in the middle of its downswing, and that could destroy the show. As fickle as show-business is, there is always a possibility of appealing for one last season to tie things up for the sake of the faithful followers. But, what if the faithful have given up?

Well, no, it's possible. At the 4-7 episode per DVD rate, it would take another 2-3 discs to complete the first four seasons (season 4).
They have the first season of Fast Forward to think about, as well as the Ninja Tribunal set.
As of now, if they released 1 of 3 season four discs in September, that leaves them three months of pre-Christmas release dates to get out 2 season four discs and the first disc of Fast Forward. That's a rush, and faster than we've ever seen from them. They typically release a disc every two months...meaning if they DID release the rest of season 4 in September, they're better able to get Fast Forward 1.1 out before their Q4 is over (November-ish). Or, should they keep Fast Forward to the January release date, this gives them flexibility to release the Ninja Tribunal in November, assuming it can be prepared in time.
I'm not saying I believe the September release is 14 episodes...just that we can't rule it out. If there was ever a time 4Kids would test the "season pack" format, it would be now, right before they're deciding how many units to produce of the Ninja Tribunal set and what kind of sales to expect.

Convincing argument. If they release 14 episodes in the next release, we can most likely expect the ninja tribunal season on one DVD.

Will this release include Insane in the Membrance??
We don't know yet. There's 15 episodes left to release in Season 4, and this seems to only have 14. It would make sense to include "Insane" on this release and put "Ninja Tribunal" with the related "Lost Season" DVD. But it would also make sense to add "Insane" with the other unaired "lost episodes". *shrug*
I really wish FUNi would get off their butts and release some real info about this already. Gord on TVShowsOnDVD, who hasn't been paying all that much attention to TMNT2k3 on DVD, just posted the mostly bogus mixed information from the Navarre site. :P
Chris

I think that if this is a 14 episode set then we'll see Insane on this release and Ninja Tribunal on a 2nd 14 episode set with the 13 lost episodes #105-117 (since we know that Future Shellshock is 118 that confirms 13 "missing" episodes and also hints that maybe that's all the original Season 5 was ever intended to be).
Just wanted to address the issue of cost and how some of you feel it's too cheap if it is 14 episodes or 2 discs.
When the DVDs came out in the UK the original releases were £14.99. With Vol. 4 the price came down to £12.99. But the DVDs still weren't selling well. Rather than just end the DVDs midway through they released 2-disc sets of Vol. 5/6 and Vol. 7/8 for £12.99 each, basically making the releases half price, to finish the first season.
Now I don't know what the sales are like for the US DVDs, but if 4Kids are saying that TMNT isn't making enough money and merchandise sales are down (hence the early transition to TMNT: FF) then it's likely that the DVDs sales aren't what they'd hope for either.
Now they want to promote FF as much as possible, but with know that hardcore fans (like us) want the rest of the series on DVD. Rather than skip the rest of Season 4 and move straight to FF they package the remaining episodes (which on current single DVD releases would still be another 2 or 3 discs) into one 14 episode 2-disc DVD set for the price of a standard release. The profit won't be as much, but in their eyes it's worth it to keep the fans happy and allow a faster transition to FF.
I think the Lost Season would always be a set rather than standard single disc releases as it's not aimed at the kids market but at the hardcore fans who want a proper ending to their series. It's Peter Laird's project more than 4Kids now as he's personally funding it to get the episodes to the fans.
Think about it; the original plan was 3.8 in Aug, 3.9 in Nov, FF 1.1 in Jan 07. By combining 3.8 and 3.9 and releasing them in Sept, that leaves the Nov/Dec slot free for FF 1.1 to come forward to a holiday release to cash in on the kids market. TLS will take the Jan 07 slot and FF 1.2 will probably follow very soon after (Feb 07 is likely, March 07 at latest).
So it's not unrealistic for this to be a 2 DVD/14 episode set. Or they could do what Superman: The Animated Series does for it's 2nd disc - dual sided DVDs. One DVD with 7 episodes on each side. And Krangstein they haven't done 3 episode DVDs for a while now - the last was in Season 1! They've been 5 episodes per disc for ages, the last release was 6 episodes.

Your right, it's not unrealistic for this to be a 2 DVD/14 episode set. But I have a bad feeling that insane in the membrance won't be on it. The plans to release that episode haven't been finelized. Maybe it will never be released :(
It was never unrealistic, but it would be a shock. Funimation has never released so many episodes of anything on a DVD as it has for this show, so there is a chance. However, they have never used any kind of discs other than one-sided single-layer. So, this would be a huge amount of firsts for our favorite anime distributor. (Just play along in case they're watching. ;) ) Now, excuse me while I go purchase the other 50 DBZ DVDs and start my Shaman King collection. :D Fruits Basket was da bomb! :anime:

Amazon has added, besides the false information taken from the original TMNT animated series, a brief description for this release (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FS2VUY/):
It’s Turtle Thrashin’ Time! The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back and ready to Kick Shell in this two-DVD set featuring all 13 episodes from Season 4. Watch as The Turtles take on some of their fiercest enemies ever!
So unless it's a typo, we're not getting "Insane In The Membrane" or "The Ninja Tribunal" on this set. :/ "All 13"? Who are they kidding? :P
Also, which TMNT DVD Viewing Guide is better? My original (http://ourworld.cs.com/PrometheusUFO/TMNT2003_DVD_Order.txt) or my new version (http://ourworld.cs.com/PrometheusUFO/TMNT2003_DVD_Order02.txt)? :)
Chris

I'm guessing typo, but knowing these DVDs until it's released we'll probably never know.
I just think 2 DVDs with 7 each (all remaining Season 4 except Tribunal) followed by 2 DVD TLS (with Tribunal and 13 Lost eps) makes more sense than having the TLS be 15 episodes.
If it is 13 (S4) then 15 (TLS) then I'd guess at Tale of Yoshi being in TLS as it fits in far better than Insane.
Thinking back on my nay-saying, it actually does seem reasonable. If Funi was bought out recently, all the rules have changed. With 15 Season 4 ep plus 13 Lost Season eps, that's 28 eps left for DVD. And, if they want to release all of 2K3 by the time FF 1.1 hits, they have to use those two already-known release dates to do it. That would be 14 eps per release. Since "Insane in the Membrane" (insane in the brain! ~ Cypress Hill) is an ep that was never shown on TV, it will likely be on the set with the other direct-to-video eps. That way, they can slap a "parental discretion advised" label on it.
Honestly, I'm still thinking that this is too good to be true, but it makes a lot more sense than I previously gave it credit for. I'm still not holding my breath though.
EDIT: If this is right, there is no question that "Insane in the Membrane" would be put on the DTV volume. Corporate policy is a bit more important than what the fans would want...
