View Full Version : Our Great American OVA
. So that everyone is aware for when Fast Forward airs, Mr. Berger at the official site <www.NinjaTurtles.com> will be listing it as "Year Five - "Fast Forward": 2006/2007" in the episode guide. When The Lost Season arrives on DVD, he plans to add a guide labeled "The Ninja Tribunal DVD series" between Season 4 & 5 to reflect continuity. He has stated, "The episode guide is listed on the TMNT TV page, which inherently means that the episodes listed as a "season" should be aired on television", but calls the idea "a major compromise in my mind, since the "Ninja Tribunal" episodes are not going to be aired on TV". I almost fully agree with this plan because it helps him avoid hundreds or thousands of e-mails from folks asking why they're not seeing those episodes on TV. But, unless I'm mistaken, there is always the possibility that The Lost Season could later be acquired for air on TV. Until then, it will be our great American OVA. :D
Disclaimer: OVA (Original Video Animation) is an animé term essentially meaning DTV (Direct-To-Video).
Note: Direct-To-Video does not imply exclusivity to videocassette.

Simple solution:
Season 5 = Lost Season
Season 6 = Fast Forward

My latest reply from Mr. Berger states that both 4Kids and Mirage see FF as season 5 rather than a spin-off (like I had suggested). How it can have the common characteristics of a spin-off but not be one is beyond me. It has a narrowed cast; no April, Casey, Baxter, Hun or Shredder (Ch'rel or Karai) as far as I know. It retains the same back-story. And, it has a modified title. However, Mirage C.E.O. Gary Richardson said that the "FF" part of the title is a "sub-brand" and should not, in any way, be considered a spin-off or new series. Everyone at Mirage and 4Kids agree that FF is the 'real season 5'.
It's not a spin-off, but it also doesn't follow the continuity. (Atleast not from the information we've been given.)

4Kids can't seem to make up their mind about this. They say it's the "real season 5" and not a spin-off, yet in the teaser they called it "an all new series".
I hope Leo still has that scar on his shell. If he doesn't I'll be pissed.

I doubt it. Besides, they're in the future, they could probably heal Leo's shell with their futuristic technology.

I'm not going to mince words here: Fast Forward will suck and it will be the death of the new TMNT cartoon. Plain and Simple.
Anyone want to seriously challenge that statement?

It's a little hard considering no one has seen it yet.
Fast Forward will suckPerhaps....and it will be the death of the new TMNT cartoonDid the campy Season 3 of the classic series kill the show? It was earlier in the life-span of its respective series, so you could still be right. But, I imagine that it'll probably shift gears towards a new audience before they throw in the towel. I hate toddlertainment. But, if you're so sure it will be the Teenage Mutant Ninja Apocalypse, why are you still here? Run for your life! The world is coming to an end! Just for my own curiosity, what rival network do you work for? :P I made a funny.

I know. But let's be realistic. The idea is downright terrible. To just essentially throw away everything they've built over four season (and many of the important characters no less) for a foray into the "future" is just pathetic. The series is doomed. It was a good run I suppose.

We don't know if it throws everything away. There could be some nice touches back to the original, ala Batman Beyond. Spiderman Unlimited was approached similarly, I remember enjoying that... Admittedly, both were shortlived, but both definitely had their moments. I'm confident this will be the same. Besides - DARK Turtles - it's the closest to Slash everyone has been pining for!
Besides - DARK Turtles...
Oh! Oh! I've been meaning to bring this up. Has anyone else imagined that Agent Bishop or Baxter might be involved? I'm thinking that they will be at least mentioned in the origin story of the dark turtles.
