Current and potential college students post your experiences, happenings, etc. related to college in this thread. I'll start...

I was looking to get student Football tickets this season, but the you won't usually be in the same seat. I don't want to watch the game from the upper deck. My class for August got cancelled because of low enrollment. But I've got seven credits coming up in the Fall and I want to be ready. Having my disability doesn't really help either. I'm just waiting for Hockey tickets to become available, even though I probably won't be able to get them because I go to a school where hockey is king.

I'm going to a college where 80% of the student population is asian. When I went to go register for classes and stuff, I took an asian count as I was walking around campus. I got up to 45 before I had to leave. My advisors were even little asian girls. It was beautiful.

I'm sure I'll have many more stories later when I start attending this Autumn.

I HATE COLLEGE!!! Whenever I go there I feel physically sick. I'm so glad that I'll be done soon.

I'm almost done with it. All exams passed, I just have to finish my thesis and give it to THEM.

It was definitely a lifetime experience.

I have been in college for 9 straight years. During those 9 years, I have spent my time at 2 good universities and earned 3 bachelor degrees. So, I have tons of experience dealing with college life.

In terms of football student tickets, both of my alma maters did it differently.
The first one did it on a lottery system in which you put your student number into the computerized system. If your number gets selected, you can get season tickets to all of the home games. If you are a freshman, sophomore, or junior, you get general admission tickets, which means that you can sit anywhere in that section. Now, if you are a senior, you have a choice of sitting in the general admission section or in the reserved student section. Here, you have the same seat throughout the entire season.

My other alma mater gave out free football tickets a week prior home games. If you do not get to the ticket office in time, you are out of luck for that game.

Now, I am in the mix of going to graduate school. I start in a week. This summer session, I have to take 12 credits during a 4 week term. I am both excited and nervous.

Hmm... don't get me wrong... but when are you actually finishing your education and starting to live?

College is awesome, learning and pursuing something you finally enjoy, and even getting days off sometimes and the atmosphere is so much better. Like being a nerd, high school, they were jerks towards you and laughed, but being in computer networking, everyone is a nerd so its great and everyone is very nice and relaxed and we all have a ball, even sometimes we'll get a game of Halo going with the whole class and the teacher joined us when we were done the lesson. Although there are very little girls in sucha technology based school, its sad, but the girls that are there aren't the preppy snobby girls, which is good, they are nice. So overall my college experience has been pretty good and fun, kicks high school's arse pretty good. And im with Ai, not in my program, its mostly white males, but in the programming side, there is alot of asians, pretty good environment, and even on breaks, if we go to the library youll login and find the Halo demo saved in the temporary folder on almost all computers and you can hop on and there will be 10 rooms open all with 16+ players in it, pretty cool, and sometimes an Unreal Tournament room open, pretty fun. College rocks!

When I graduated with my first two bachelor degrees, the job market was terrible. I had two science degrees at the time. I seriously job hunted and could not find anything. Right now, a bachelor's degree in science does not worth much....can you say lab tech? So, I went back to school rather than being lazy. During that time, I found my niche...teaching science. So, I am in graduate school to become a secondary science teacher. In Oregon, teachers are required to have a master's degree in education in order to have a license. I am in a MAT program that ends a year from now. Does that answer your question?

Sadly I ended up hating the entire college experience. Shame too, since I went in with a rather positive mindset. Granted, it probably didn't help that I startec college classes about a week or two after high school graduation. No break, just endedup burned out and gave up on it all soon enough. I do plan on going back at some point and getting it over and done with; don't know when though.. and it probably won't be the same college, considering all the bad memories of it.

I loved all of my college experiences. I got burned out and went through some hard times. My candle was almost out until I found my niche then it was burning brightly.

I think it does, thanks.

Believe me, you are not the first person to ask me that question.

As stated earlier, hockey is king at my school. You would not believe how hard it is to get tickets. All that's ever left is Standing-Room only tickets and you'd have to pray for a miracle to get any seats at all.

Also, was there any one class or area that you really enjoyed? I enjoyed the heck out of my Acting class last spring and now I'm considering majoring in it.

I was a slacker in high school, had about a 2.1 gpa. I wasn't really planning on going to college but then after I graduated I decided that I wanted to, so I went to a community college. I actually tried this time and got a 3.6 gpa, and I transferred and am going to UConn in the fall. I got football tickets, which are simple to get. Theres a student section and you can sit wherever. But basketball is the big sport at this school, since they have such a good team. Tickets are almost impossible to get but I might try anyway. :)

Ahhh college...such a fun experience...of course the booze, girls and parties were great but schooling itself was a blast as well...i wish i was back there sometimes...the grind of a 9-5 job can be pretty tedious...

So to all you students out there, LIVE IT UP! Cuz while you may hated the homewortk, exams, etc. the experience is truly once in a lifetime...have fun!!

College, college, college. My first semester blew, second was amazing. Next semester I'll be one of four RA's at my school. Think of it...Snarky Brody, in charge of a large group of people.

my signature has clues where my alma maters are..;)

This year, baseball tickets were near impossible to get and I imagine that they will be even harder next year.

I'm hoping to be in grad school next Spring. I'm getting ready to take my GRE and apply. With any luck, I'll get in and I'll be working in the same lab where I worked as an undergrad (I have two BS degrees... and Sci Freak is right about getting a job with those).

I had wanted to go to a different school... far far away... because I thought it would be good for me. But, the more I travel, the more I find I really do like home. Besides, my professor is practically family. And I'll be working with cows again! :o

Just for fun, you should put some TMNT gear on the turtle and then write "Fear The Ninja Turtle"

Its just an idea. Its not intended to slam the University of Maryland. I like the turtle also.

Well, the Fall Term starts today at the University of Minnesota. Thankfully, I only have one class today. I'm taking 7 credits, which may seem small to some folks, but its a lot to me mostly because of my disability.

I still have yet to go by the arena and see if I can put down for Student Season Tickets for our Men's Hockey team. I really hope I can. :)
