"Kung-Fu Theatre" - 20 page story by Laird, Murphy, Lawson and Brown (reuniting Lawson and Brown, the original art team on "Tales of the TMNT" volume one).

Pin-Up gallery featuring Dario Brizuela, Eric Talbot, Stan Sakai, Michael Dooney, Sean Wang, Dan Berger, Dave White, Jim Lawson, Don Perlin and Diego Jourdan.

"My Hero!" 5 page story by Jourdan, Laird and Murphy.

"The Doors of Deception" - 6 page Professor Obligado story by Murphy, Lawson and White.

I have this ordered, but haven't gotten it yet. At the time that I talked to the co-owner of the comic shop that I've started getting my comics from, it wasn't published yet. But that was week before this past one, I think, so that MAY have changed. If you're getting YOUR copy this upcoming Wednesday, TuRtLe TiTaN, I KNOW it has.

Pretty damned good ish. Lawson's art was really noticably below his usual standard (take that how you will), but the pin-ups and subsequent stories were all nice.

Hmmm, THAT's weird. I talk to Millie last night, and she told me that MY copy of this WASN'T at "Dirt Road" yet. Wonder what's up?

Ah, well, I'm supposed to see her Monday (she works as an RN at a local clinic here in West Plains, and she's supposed to bring my books (HOPEFULLY it's plural on that; I ordered "Tales of Leo: Blind Sight" #2, too, and I KNOW she's bringing THAT one!) to work with her, and all I have to do is go over there, pick them up and pay her for them. Talk about service!!! Do I have a cool comic store, or what?! Heh.

This was the best issue of Tales in quite a while. I particularly liked "Kung Fu Theatre". An awesome story, with two good sub stories, and lots of cool pin ups.

I cant help wondering that, after the Kung Fu Theatre tale, is there a bunch of martial arts students running around dressed as turtles and the foot, and doing battles with each other?

wasnt too keen on the My Hero artwork, although the story was pretty cool. I believe that its the same artists on tales #26, so hopefully the story'll be extra special...

The prof. obligado tale was great! pretty cool twist at the end there... (i remember an old spiderman issue i had when i was small where spidey had been hit with a shrinking ray (i think!) and kept on shrinking and shrinking, and he was going through different universes and worlds as he was getting smaller and smaller... it was ace!!)

Just got this today.

It was pretty good.. loved the pin ups especially the ones of the 4 Leo's on a Turtle gargoyle and the one with Usagi. :evilgrin:

As for the stories:
Kung Fu Theatre: Crane Style! Dragon Style! Foot Style! Turtle Style!.... So somewhere out there a group of kids are doing it turtle style. :lol:

And Don wondering where the term Cowabunga comes from...Hey Don...guess what...it has nothing to do with cows...it comes from the Howdy Doody show!

The word evolved from "kawabonga'" a word used by the character Chief Thunderthud on the United States children's television program Howdy Doody in the 1950s. "Kawagoopa" meant "Good", and "kawabonga" meant "bad". By the 1960s, surfers who had grown up watching Howdy Doody adopted it for surfing use, turning it to "Cowabunga."(which means Woohoo! )

I got this issue today and I had a good time reading it. Really nice stuff here -- it had great art with snazzy pin-ups.

Kung Fu Theatre - I liked the plot and action for this one. It was cool to see how the rival school argued and fought; I liked how the writer handled that. Who knew Raph was a Bruce Lee fan?

My Hero - Funny stuff in this one. The style was somethin' that got my attention. Glad to see a story with the Turtles as kids.

The Doors of Deception - This was a great story to round things off. I felt it was a great Utrom type of deal.

The next issue looks great. I can hardly wait for it. :)

Just got this issue, yesterday. I loved the stories. The "Kung-Fu Theater" story was probably one of the greatest things I've read in a while, in the TMNT universe. It really felt like I was reading the old series, with the Turtles fighting the Foot on the rooftops, crashing through ceilings... this story was filled with action. And I guess a pretty good message.... Turtle style rules! For some reason, Lawson's work didn't bug me. It actually looked nice. Maybe Brown doing the inking and toning helped? I think so! Great art in this story.

The pin-ups were an added bonus. Loved each one of them. The Michael Dooney one was nice! Loved them all, though. Even the Lawson one was great.

I thought the "My Hero" story was a tear-jerker. Cute story. Liked it a lot. Made Splinter seem like more of a father than a sensei.

I didn't read the story with the utrom, but I'll get around to it.

I haven't gotten MY copy of this issue yet! Everytime I read a review of it, it makes me want it that much more! Sounds like it's a cool issue!

Man, I just hope that it's finally IN when I go up to Dirt Road Comics in Willow Springs next month! Surely it WILL be. :-? I mean, wasn't this issue SUPPOSED to come out in JULY?!:-? I kinda thought so.
