Initial impressions from clips 1 (http://wm.world.mii-streaming.net/media/4kids/previews/TMNTff118_clip01_Multistream500.wmv) & 2 (http://wm.world.mii-streaming.net/media/4kids/previews/TMNTff118_clip02_Multistream500.wmv) suggest that we have a lot of not-so-good animation to look forward to. But, the plots seem as excellent as they have ever been. They start clip 1 (http://wm.world.mii-streaming.net/media/4kids/previews/TMNTff118_clip01_Multistream500.wmv) with a Terminator reference for crying out loud! What with the nude time-travel and Raph saying "You said come with you if we want to live", where else could their inspiration have come from? This is a small sign that we haven't totally been sold-out.

LOL! "I pitty the fool"
Atleast the new outfits is given a meaning. I'll have to get use to the new animation. Just 12 more hours left until the priemer.

The animation hasn't always been fantastic but seriously... What on earth was that?
And I just knew I'd get a Spider-Man Unlimited vibe from this. Already I'm dissapointed and worried.
But the Tribunal arc on DVD will rock for sure and the CGI movie looks VERY promising. So at worst I can always just right this one off in the end. It will still probably be the best cartoon on Saturday mornings (not that it's hard).
And wouldn't you know it? Pre-empted by Baseball. But this time it doesn't even show up. Looks like I may have to wait for the re-airing to catch this one. I hate FOX...

Yea.. don't ya just hate living on the west coast? Yeesh... Stupid Baseball *mumbles*
Supposadly Future Shell Shocked will air next week along with the 2nd ep. Either way it'll re-air in September.
Ah well...I'll be downloading it either way. :P
LOL! "I pity the fool"Yeah, I forgot to mention that one. I just wanted my post to be high up in the thread. :embarass: It's sometimes better to jump the gun than to wait until people have commented a topic to death (which I expect will happen by noon tomorrow).
Oh! Did I need to mention the theme song as one of the show's defects? I imagine the video accompanying it could possibly be pretty interesting though...

Nope, the only characters from the "original" (gosh that feels odd...but hey 4kids is calling it the "retro" TMNT) show are the guys and Splinter. The Jones we get is Cody, April and Casey's great grandson.

April and Casey are long dead by that time, (they'd have to be like 125 to still be alive), so don't count on it.

That's what I like to hear, baby.
I was making fun of the recent thread starters clueless about FF. I'm waking up before 10, watching it and recording it, then rewatching it with my girlfriend later.

Does anyone know of these are primarily the same animators or maybe newbies? Would they be the same ones working on the Ninja Tribunal arc?

The animation is fine. It's the stylization that's new, more simplified, and something to get used to. I'm gonna miss the slightly more detailed look, but I remember some of the design artists saying that it threw them for a loop, too, so I'm not sure whose idea it was, and why. I can see evidence of the animators struggling with it too (mostly on the Turtles), since it's not entirely consistent. I think we'll get used to it eventually, though. I'd rather not, but oh well, I'll live. :p
The whole aliens-walking-around-the-city thing is definitely reminding me of Volume 4. I'll be surprised if we don't see some other common elements.
I'll probably do a style comparison post here (or somewhere around here, anyway) after I get some stuff extracted from the new Flash at the 4Kids site, so I can blather away about stuff nobody cares about and feel like I've contributed something worthwhile. ;)
EDIT: (more defense for the animators :p) It's probably the new style that's weirding out the animators, and so they're not at their best. They're probably spending more time making sure the style is right than making sure the motion is right. It'll take them a bit to pull themselves together, I think. It's still Dong Woo working on it.

I don't have the internet speed for preview clips *sigh* I think I'll go and set the VCR on record, but hide in the room with the tiny TV, just in case it sucks too much to be seen watching it. ;)
I dunno... it could be OK. I really don't like the simplified look, but I'll be watching anyway. I love my weekly TMNT fix too much to give up just yet. But at the first sign of a female turtle... that's it. :P

Wait... why the hell would they change animation studios when the one they were with were doing a fine job? Fans couldn't have been happier with the way most of the season 4 episodes turned out. That doesn't make sense to me...
Must... E-mail... Dan... Must... Know if... this is true....
Because if it is, I sh*t on whoever's decision it was to move animation studios!
WAIT... SpaceLt. Dan would know, wouldn't he? Dude, if you read this... break the foreplay and tell us, is this the same animation studio that has been doing TMNT?

I'm pretty sure it's still Dong Woo, and they're just struggling with the new style. It's not quite different enough to be otherwise, but I could be wrong. We'll have to see the credits when it airs.
I dunno... it could be OK. I really don't like the simplified look, but I'll be watching anyway. I love my weekly TMNT fix too much to give up just yet.Although, in the same way it was in the first four seasons, the animation, in practice, is looking slightly different than the model sheets. They had a lot of squared-off body parts in the oriignal model sheets that turned out to be a lot more rounded in the show, and it looks like the same thing's happening here. In these new clips, they didn't look quite as angular as the model sheets. I dunno; this'll be interesting, anyway.
But at the first sign of a female turtle... that's it. :p
LOL, I'll try not to take that personally. ;)

I saw a tiny bit of one of those clips and was really disappointed with how crappy the animation looked.
It looked really cheap to me, and I hope to whatever god that wants to listen to me that "The Lost Season" isn't cheap looking too. I want "The Lost Season" to have the same animation from seasons 1-4, not this crap.
I may warm up to the new look when I get to see an actual ep, but I know I'm not going to love it.
At least we have the same writers, 4Kids can't screw up that part of the show.

Well so far the new theme is crap and very cheesy even more then the old version. The show reminds me of Loonaticx which is very bad seeing that it has lost it originality now.

Cheesiness? Yes, it's a little bit cheesier, but it wasn't as horrific as I thought. I hate the character design, which is nothing new considering the character sucked in the original. The design for the new futuric NY wasn't bad at all. It manages to keep the spirit of the old show with something new. And what's this I hear about the turtles being dead and Cody bringing them to the future to save it? This episode was nothing like it at all. Not enough to fully judge it, but it definitely isn't like the doomsday you guys predicted. Yeah, I loved the little Bebop cameo they snuck in there. It shows that they're still keeping us old guys in mind.

Why? Why do they keep changing the time of this show? How in the world am I supposed to track it down when the time changes seemingly every week?

07-29-2006, 08:38 AM
Well...It was interesting
What I liked:
They are gonna be able to use Vol. 4 stuff....if they choose to.
The big traffic accident they caused
and...The fight was pretty ok
What I didn't like:
They wrote Mikey even goofier. Poor guy.
The robot butler
The robot cop
Cody's voice
STILL don't like the theme song.
Now....I wonder who's gonna look after Klunk....and if they were sucked to the future by the time window/portal thingy...doesn't that mean that all the stuff Don invented stops in history at the moment they were sucked through...I guess since it exists, they WILL get sent back eventually.
AND What happened To Cody's Parents?..I want a family history.
What I don't want:
A bunch of sappiness and love/ girlfrind stories (don't like that stuff in the comics, don't want it here)
The crazy hijinks of the cop and butler chasing them around
Cody being trained.
I'm still going to give it a chance. This was one episode...and How many times did I shake my head at an episode last season :P

Well....I can say this much...I hate the new theme song and the cheap new animation.
But other than that it wasn't too bad.
Anyone notice the robed guys had the upside-down Foot symbol on their backs? (it looked a little modified though)
*groans* Mikey gets himself into another stupid "I need to be saved because I goof off too much" situation...god I'm so sick of him being the damsel in distress...It's annoying.
I liked Cody.

seems like there are a lot of upset fans but I didn't think "future shellshock" was all that bad at all. I actually liked it. I can tell they are trying to appeal to younger audience. people who are bashing fast forward due to it's "cheese factor" keep in mind, it's a cartoon... meant for a saturday morning audience (kids, hence the name 4kids). FF was much better than I expected. I was also glad they gave a reason for the leg and arm armour. The turtles have to wear this stuff to get around. If they had been wearing it for no real reason it would have been dumb.

It looks like there was another reference to the original show in the establishing shot of central park.

I thought the show was ok, and this is sort of the set-up episode, so i have faith that they'll get better. I don't think the animation is bad, in fact it is the same studio (Dong Woo) who has been animating the turtles the whole time.

Yeah true most of the changes I don't really care for but I will still continue since it was just 1 episode and it is TMNT. It's not AS bad as I though it would be and they are recogniseing past seasons which is good. Althogh a bit cheesier it does have some of the same attitude from from past seasons. I was suprised they mentioned murder and such too.

Bleh.
The theme song, as we heard a few days ago, was pretty bad.
The animation is still ok, not as great, but ok. Their legs were weirding me out. I just watched a quick part of a season 1 episode, and the difference was pretty huge. But the animation is still bearable.
Cody and Serling are both annoying. I hate them both. I pretty much hate all the new characters they introduced. The turtles pretty much seemed true-to-form at least.
And the fight scene was pretty lame as well. It was too much prop-driven. It reminded me of the start of TMNT 2. At least Raph punched a guy at the end.
So...yeah. After one ep, it's not bad enough to stop me from watching it yet, but it didn't give me high hopes.
Edit: And yeah, I chuckled at the Bebop cameo. Just Rocksteady left, or maybe some Zentrinos (or whatever the futuristic kids were)

In Cody's penthouse we saw:
Fugitoid, A TCRI Can, Baxter's exosuit(does that mean he doesnt change anymore?), Shredder suit, Foot banner, Turtles' bandanas(anyone notice Raph had his on before he went to find it), Utrom Suit, anything else?
I didnt mind the episode, I hope it gets better. Im still mad about them throwing all the great characters theyve worked on for the past 4 years away.

I liked the little story about Cody, how he's trapped inside his own little world, totally cut off from the outside. Also, the way the explained the new costumes wasn't bad at all. I mean, it could have been much cheesier, like giving them super strength or something. They will need new weapons if they want to match up to the enemies of the future, which we got a little taste of today.

Ugh......that was horrific. I saw NOTHING in that episode that had me smiling or even pleased. I may actualy skip the rest of the season....but not just yet. I'll give it a few more tries but honestly, it's not looking good. *waits for 2007 and the Lost Season DVD to arrive*

OK... I have to admit the Bebop thing was clever, especially because the world they're in allows such a reference without looking weird or forced. And the story isn't really cheesier than some of the stuff we've seen before. The writers handled it as well as they could, I think.
Oh, and thank everything that's holy that those fancy suits do have a point. Not sure how the black tights work into it, but oh well...
I think I'll still watch this thing, as superior as the 2003 show was. They have yet to reach a screwup level that would make me avoid it entirely.
That said... oy the animation. Now, the 2003 show was by no means the beacon of animation excellence because it was done on a TV show budget... (in spite of the occasional AWESOME episode that approached feature quality) but the difference in quality between that and this is a little more jarring than I was hoping.
As far as the actual look is concerned... yes, the animators need to settle into these designs like they did in the beginning. What bothered me was in places the frame count was so low it started looking like your standard mass-produced anime. Jerky jerky... and tacky looking. Hopefully they can improve on this, but it kinda hurt to watch. I still am trying to figure out why in the name of pudding they decided to change for a "simpler" style when the animators had obviously become quite comfortable with the designs they had. Must be the "new series I-need-to-look-different" kind of thing.
My final diagnosis: Not as bad as I was fearing, but definite room for improvement. And I never thought I'd miss the original 2003 theme so much. Blargh.
Oh, and Aska... I knew who I was posting after, so the Venus jab was a joke. Mostly. :P

They did Rocksteady last year in "Samurai Tourist" remember? It was Gen dressed in his clothes.

I liked the 2003-2006 series better. This episode was pretty good though. This show is alot better than not having a turtles show at all.
The Triceratons are here, which is really cool. I also really liked the collection of items from the turtles time line. They even had Shredder's armor.:) I liked the Bebop cameo too. Now, I just hope Agent Bishop is in this series. He will be really freaked out to see the turtles.:D

That reminds me, anyone enjoyed the beginning of the show where they're in their present day home? There were some slight difference, but the overall look is still the same. If you don't pay close attention, you might think that it is the old show. The face change looks for jarring when they're all naked and without masks.

Theory on the Dark Turtles. With the Turtles removed from history the longer they stay in the future the more the past and future changes. Thats that the Turtles will do starts gettintg un done (Like the Hover Shell that Donm did not create yet but will)
The Turtles needed a part in history, without them things werechanging too much. Bishop back in the past to fix this problem created clones of the Turtles hoping that would be enough. However the clones mutated and maybe even killed Bishop.
Still by the end of the searies I'm expecting that the Turtles need to return to their time to complete their role in history. They were just taken away, they can't compl, ete any future missions and the like.
Anyway this episode was better then I expected but still pretty bad.

...It's obvious this is a phone-in effort from the team for being forced to take a commerical driven comedic approach and there really trying to stick it to 4Kids. People can apologise for this all they want, but when a studio orders you to set something in the future, take a lesson from Bruce Timm and Peter Chung. watch Batman Beyond and Phantom 2040, other from that leave the comedic appeal to the superior product, the original series.

...Man do I wish there was a baseball pre-empt here.
This was awful. Purely awful. One of the worst things I've seen from the TMNT (or in general) for about oh... 15 years or so. All I could think when I was watching was: 'When will this be OVER?'. I wasn't amused. I didn't laugh or even smile. I felt sad.
I disliked Cody Jones more than I EVER thought I would. And I hated him upon first hearing of him. Though I admit, the ONLY thing I found interesting at all in this whole thing was how like Don Cody was. Haha ha.. ha.. ha. I could make all sorts of speculation there, but why bother?
As for the Bebop thingie. I totally rolled my eyes. It might have been almost cute, if this show wasn't at ALL like the old one, therefore making it a nifty little bonus to times past. No, instead, it is just another sad reminder of how much this show is regressing.
I hate the kid-ish silliness. Never liked it.
This sucked. So much so, to look for something GOOD in it... I'd almost say the theme song is the best part.
...And we all know how much we like that.

Hm, I'm not really seeing a reason for the Cody hate. He certainly isn't annoying, and he's fairly intelligent, which relieves my fears of him being a bumbling sidekick.
He's not a fighter, (which will probably change in the future, but for now no), and he's not getting the TMNT into trouble. Uh, wait, how is this different from Casey again?
He's just a smaller Casey with intelligence instead of brawn. In other words, he's April and Casey mixed together.
Sounds to me like people just like to overreact.

Well I'm sure not. I don't like CASEY, so that doesn't help Cody's cause any at ALL. Plus, I'm not a fan of the 'kid joining the TMNT thing'. No overreaction here, just pure opinion. :)

ok I was vehmently dissapointed in this episode. Not that it didn't have its high lights but seriuosly the anmation sucked. Have the time the turtles shells don't have any lines on it. ANd there eyes are a weird translusent green color:-?
I don't hate Cody, but I don't like him eighther (yet) he gonna get some getting used too. I hated the britsh robo cop. I didn't think mikey acted like a goof in this episode. the whole getting stuck in a truck was allot like "Things Change" episode.
And the traffic accident was cool. And I liked the whole Alien slave thing, and Mikey nearly getting kidnsaped scene. I thought it was going to play out like in VOl. 4 and him going to prison.
I cannot complain as I probably could not do better with the Turtle liscense, so saying that, here's my thoughts.
It was ok. Not as bad as I thought it was going to be. The action was still there, which is good, and it had a bit more comedy. The comedy wasn't entirely bad. I thought it would fall on it's own face, but it was pulled off rather decent.
25 more episodes and they'll go home, where Bishop will have turned the world upside down, or time will not have passed for them.
They said 26 stand alone episodes which is cool. There's only so much continuity you can have before it gets repetitive. 26 Stand alones might make for some memorable characters, that who knows, could visit the Turtles once they return to the past.
All in all it wasn't bad, and even if it was I don't think I'd complain. Martin Lawrence said it best in Runteldat, "Critics can't do what you can do, so they wanna critisise your ****." I'll watch and wait it out, for better or worse, and won't complain a single bit in the process.

All and all, I really think I'll hold my total assesment of the series after more than one episode. Basically, it's not half as bad as I was fearing..yet, anyway. Not bad at all. There is some serious potential for this eather to be a great secondary series, or an annoying gimmicky series designed to try to make money lost on the failing secondary merchandising (outside of the basic action figure line. like the tops).
Now, right away, I noticed they were able to say "freaking." Especially since they didn't say it in the old series. I read the script of "mobster from Dimention X" in the jeffery Scott book, and one of the human mobsters was to say "THOSE FREAKIN' TRUTLES".
Loved Bebop. If they can make more referrences to the old series like that, it'll at the very least be fun to watch. I can clearly see the potential for an episode in which Renet attempts to bring them back home, and takes them into an alternate time line where they live in the old series.
I just can't wait for the new action figures, though... mainly the Splinter. It looks good. I almost wish I knew they'd have one like that 3 years ago, before I bought the basic one... that cloth robe was soooo tacky lookin'!

No offense... but I hope that never, ever, EVER happens. I would throw away any and all things TMNT and never watch it again. That would be the lowest low they can sink to.

I for one, am rather pleased. Like I said before, I think the animators are just a little out of sorts trying to adjust to the slightly different style (and even then, it's similar enough to the old style that I can forget it's changed in a lot of scenes... that may change, though, when the animators get used to the new style... or it may just revert back to the old style unintentionally  )
I'm gonna miss the rest of the cast, certainly, but there's been plenty of times they haven't shown up in a story arc, so I think it's okay.
I hate the theme song, but I hated the last one, too, so *shrug*
It was very nice to see the Jones' collection of important antiques: the armor, the Foot banner, the golf bag... I hope they don't end up spoiling something from our lost Season Five, at least until we've had the chance to see them.
I liked Cody, Serling is funny, the robotic British policeman seriously gets on my nerves, rather than makes me laugh. Can't win 'em all.
I hate the character design, which is nothing new considering the character sucked in the original.*squeaks* But but... aww, nevermind. I liked it. :(
Now....I wonder who's gonna look after Klunk....They're likely to come back at the same instant they left, so that's probably not a big deal.
AND What happened To Cody's Parents?..I want a family history.
I'm sure we'll get it, eventually. They can't cram too much exposition into the first ep, or there wouldn't be anything to watch.
Anyone notice the robed guys had the upside-down Foot symbol on their backs? (it looked a little modified though)
It is very similar... they'll probably throw us some more hints later.
I was also glad they gave a reason for the leg and arm armour. The turtles have to wear this stuff to get around. If they had been wearing it for no real reason it would have been dumb.*nodnods* I was pleased.
Baxter's exosuit(does that mean he doesnt change anymore?)
It wasn't quite as detailed as his. Not sure it was his.
As far as the actual look is concerned... yes, the animators need to settle into these designs like they did in the beginning. What bothered me was in places the frame count was so low it started looking like your standard mass-produced anime. Jerky jerky...
Yeah, you do have a point. I thought maybe they'd had to rush it, though, because they may have wasted too much time with the visual consistancy in other parts.
I still am trying to figure out why in the name of pudding they decided to change for a "simpler" style when the animators had obviously become quite comfortable with the designs they had. Must be the "new series I-need-to-look-different" kind of thing.
You got me. I think it's pretty strange. I mean, also because it's such a small change. I feel like, if you're going to change it at all, you should change it drastically. Otherwise, leave it alone.
Oh, and Aska... I knew who I was posting after, so the Venus jab was a joke. Mostly. :p
Heheh, I know. :p I will eventually have some actual stories with her, maybe you'll like my Venus better. If not, hey, at least I tried. ;)
After doing some thinking, I think Bishop will not be in the series. He is probably out of a job and/or dead. Afterall, his whole focus was on stopping aliens and mutants. It looks like he failed.... :DOoh. Very good point. Hmm... they'll probably at least mention him, then, as that would affect his role greatly.
He's just a smaller Casey with intelligence instead of brawn. In other words, he's April and Casey mixed together.*nods* He's not trying to be something he's not. That would be annoying. He's just a little too smart for his own good, and accidentally pulled his heros into his own time. I also... sort of had the feeling he'd be willing to sabatoge their efforts to get back home, just so he can spend more time with them. Things could get kind of messy there.
*stares at tOkKa* Um... is this a good thing, a bad thing, a strange thing?
Have the time the turtles shells don't have any lines on it.
They do, but they're using a colored ink that is very close to the paint color (pretty much the same value, only greener), so it can kind of disappear on some screens.
EDIT: One thing that gave me hives though... when they were in the alley: "It's ninja time!" Ohhh, shades of The Next Mutation... (although I think they always said "It's green time"... but it STILL makes me cringe.)

Will 4kids and Fox want to take the show back to the way it was pre-Fast Forward? Because the show is so different now, (not only story wise but animation) going back would probably not happen. I hope it does. I hope we go back to a Season 6 and can pretty much forget about Fast Forward. Oh and another question: Will the Lost Season's animation look like what we got in Season 4?

Sadly, it'll never happen.
I don't see why Peter Laird hates the old show so much. Sure, it wasn't his vision for the turtles, but if it wasn't for that show, not only would the franchise not have gotten off the ground and lasted as long as it did, but many of us, myself included, would not have found the original comic it was based on....
If anything, the old show should be celebrated for what it was.....not ignored..

Will the Lost Season's animation look like what we got in Season 4?
*nods* One of the production artists (they're the character designers, concept artists, storyboarders; not animators) on the Argh! Forums mentioned that Season Six was changing styles, and they were all trying to adjust to it. He didn't say a word about Season Five (and this was long before they decided to skip that season), so it should be the same. Unless the animators (the production art's finished already, the animation isn't) get so entrenched in the new style that they'll have difficulty switching back to the original style. It will at least be trying to look like TMNT2K3, rather than TMNT2K3FF (this acronym's gettin' longer and longer...).
EDIT: That *does* look suspiciously like the Technodrome, there, Vegita-san.

I'm back....and I'm here to say that TMNT:FF is pretty gay!
Alright I'll drop my gangsta hip-hop lyrics for a moment and state this..I'm not going to pretend to like it or lie to myself.
"cough...TMNT:Next Mutation..cough"
The comment made before about Bruce Timm doing Batman Beyond after studio brass wanted somthing new is the perfect thought to this. He created somthing new that was on the same par as the masterpiece that is Batman: TAS. While TMNT(2003) will never be on that masterpiece level as well, it was an excellent cartoon with many memorable episodes and did its best to transfer comic to screen.
Now after my comment lets see what we have left on the TMNT TV table...
- We have horrible animation
- We have HORRIBLE new characters
- We have a horrible new theme song
- We have bland story
Basically my point is we have a problem. While I do see the point in keeping the TMNT brand alive for the time being..this was not the way to do it. I don't see this thing surviving or ending well and makes me wonder who they have running the show if this is the best idea they could come up with.

Okay, MY 2 cents, folks:
Quite honestly, after fretting a bit about the new "series" like everybody else around here, I found myself pleasantly surprised this morning...to the extent that I honestly DO like "Fast Forward". I like the fact that they explained the chest-thingies (everybody wears them, or they couldn't breather OR move), especially. I seriously did NOT like them at first, but hey, they DO make sense, given the time and circumstances that Splinter and the boys find them selves in at the moment.
And after hearing the theme, I like it. Honestly and seriously. So go a head and call Wolfie goofy and looney, I don't care; I like it! So there. Mya:P
Like the rest of you, though, I DO have a dislike: the British-sounding (profound apologies to our British bros and sys' from Across the Pond on this one) Chief Constable (can't remember his name at the moment). Seriously, THAT guy is MAJORLY-annoying. And probably the most POMPOUS, arrogant guy (robot or otherwise)that I've seen in a cartoon since Vinnie of the Biker Mice From Mars! I mean, he blunders in AFTER the guys taking out those slavers, and HE takes the credit for it! Sheesh!!! Talk about an ego!
And did you guys notice that there was actually COLOR in the guys' eyes?! They ALL have GREEN eyes! Not sure exactly what shades, but at least they decided to give their eyes some color...FINALLY...and not leave them black. I just hope their eyes AREN'T the same color as their skin. THAT would be kinda silly.
Oh, and I don't know if you all noticed THIS part of it, but the left side of Leo shell has finally healed. No piece out of it anymore; VERY cool. ALSO very sensible; I was WONDERING when they were gonna let that happen.
Can't wait to see them get their new futuristic weapons, and meet their evil counterparts; should be interesting.
Oh, and before I close this post, there was ONE more thing that bothered me: the refernce that Leo made to their age at the beginning of the ep. The series' writers ALWAYS made a point of mention how much time had passed every now and then in Seasons 1 through 4, so I assumed (along with everyone else, I think) that the boys had by THIS time reached the age of 16 or 17 or so. But Leo clear said "After 15 of ninja training", or something like that. What's up with the age-regression?! Just a thought.
Well, gotta go, peeps. My time's up for today!
L8rs!
Peace.

I thought this episode was all right. The series is really trying new things with the more humorous moments.
I didn't mind the new characters at all except for the British cop. Those street hoodlums reminded me of Moon Knight for some reason. Maybe cuz of their cloaks.
I'm giving Fast Forward a chance before I just watch one episode and hate it. This new intro is ok; I liked the Season 4 one better. Next week's episode should be worthwile. I wonder how it'll expand on this one. :-?
My verdict: This episode gets a three out of five. I felt it was average and next week's should be better. We'll just have to wait and see.

As far as the age mention goes, I think Leo is just talking about the basic training, and not including all the adventures they had.....
Apon a second viewing, the shells do have a design on them, but they are so damn faint, it's tough to notice..
The turtles battle a Shredder like Robot in the season openers credits, but it's only there for a second...
That girl is shown there ( codies Sister?), who looks to be Japanese..
Splinter looked tremendously out of scale most of the ep. His head was so big, it looked like he would topple over in some scenes. Splinter should be at least as tall as cody, how tall is cody compared to the turtles?

Oh yeah, I hate the new catch phrase "It's Ninja Time!" Mikey said that just as he jumped into the van with the newspaper, then they said it again just as they were going to kick some booty. I pray to god they don't overuse that... but I think it's too late.
BTW, I want some thoughts on the animation. Those of you who hated the animation, tell me which part you thought was really bad. I'm going to rewatch the episode again before I can judge it cause I was too busy running back and forth this morning to pay attention to it. Again, I need specific parts that you thought was really bad.
*squeaks* But but... aww, nevermind. I liked it.
Sorry, but about the only thing I liked out of the entire series so far is the final Shredder (NOT the awful SAINW form) bot and redesigned Honeycut were worth looking at. The rest of the robot, mech, human, and monster design was lame at best.

Heh, actually, not to sound argumemtative or anything... but I DID find one thing that amused me in the show, and it wasn't any of the TMNT. I actually liked the british cop guy. If you're talking about the purple one with the blades on his shoulder armor... he appeared several times (heh, I watched it almost frame-by-frame just to see what was in there). Once, even, as this writhing mass of something squishy-looking, before coalescing into himself. Rather creepy...
That girl is shown there ( codies Sister?), who looks to be Japanese..Er, well, there's another shot of her earlier... she's green, and has pointed ears. Don't think she's related. ;)

It was...interesting to say the least...I liked it a bit but Im just gonna have to get used to the changes...haven't figured out Cody's voice just yet but it appears he's an orphan. But now there's 2 geeky characters.
Interesting that the company is called O'Neil Tech. So yea April became rich with her company. But did Casey and April even marry? Serling seemed refered to him as the
O'Neil-Jones heir so perhaps April just kept her surname? Eh who knows.
Love the BeBop cameo. *lol*...And Im liking the cop. Perhaps he'll be a reacurring?
Is it just me or did the "time machine" resemble Donatello's demensional portal machine from the orginal series? They never did figure out how to find Usagi's world again...
Another thing I noticed was that before Splinter was a self (all one color) and now he has a white stomach and his tail is more pink making him more like a Berkshire than a self. :ohwell: And he was more brown too instead of grey.
Oh and the park where the turtle's castle is....so in 100 years they raised it up from the ground, lair and all??
*COMING SOON?* 90% of this post is under review
I need specific parts that you thought was really bad. When Robby the Robot (Mikey made me do it! ) was putting on the Enviro' Packs & etc., that looked stupid. As if throwing his arms back and forth is going to get anything accomplished... Maybe they should have added hammering sound effects there. That would have given me another thing to smile about. No. I'd never even give it a chance, like I did with this by watching it. I'll always hate when kids join the TMNT (or any group like this), I won't like future hopping. At least by having the last few years, I actually gave it a SLIM chance.

I'd say TMNT was helpled greatly by being what the original was, I may love dark and forboding cartoons, but I'm no fan of "dark cartoons are the end-all, be-all", it stifles animation fans in my opinion. The original is far above the current series with or without Fast Forward.
But there IS a difference between being child-freindly and being more versed to two demographics, Fast Forward does'nt have the post-modern humour of the original and I doubt many series could hope to match that, it's kind of like Batman Forever having darker, subtle undertones, and Batman and Robin completly missing the point.

Oh, I totally get that. That's why I said 'for me'. :) I don't care what ratings say when it comes to that, I was speaking purely for my own opinion. And I don't hate the old series by a long shot. My brother and I watched every single episode of that together. Many times.
I just don't dig 'silly'. Especially not after what promise we had with the beginning of this new series, and it's gone downhill.

Cody was like a male April. Serling and the cop robot were so damn annoying, I hope one of them eventually blow up or something. The animation was disapointing and the theme song was, shall i dare say it, worse than the next mutaion one. Other than that I thought the ep was decent. but I will say this, I wanted to see more Rat King:cry:

Well, thanks 4kids! I didn't like it very much. Thought the Bebop reference was interesting and a nice nod but they really missed with this. The style change is way too cheap and simple looking and I really hate the way they disrupted the TMNT feel. I mean why? The theme song is a piece of ----! Its cheap and nothing but rehashed clips of the eps thrown into one. Please don't tell me the creators OK'd this.

OK here it goes I woke up from my drunken stupor from being out all night till 6am and eating at a restaurant with a bunch of hooker drag queens everywhere (don't ask lol) To arise to watch Fast Forward with a nervousness and a sharp pain in my belly but that could just be the hang over ha!
I've gotta admit for some reason the theme song made me feel a bit like oh why am I watching this show but I've gotta say I think I would have enjoyed it had my room mate not been in the room lol.
I honestly think people are really just making a bug fuss about nothing but that's just my opinion.
The only thing I really didn't like is the new anime looking style of art that they are doing it's way to teen titans for me. It will be over for me though if them make the turtles get giants heads and have veins bursting when they yell or something.
But I think it's only a matter of time until I become fine with this new animation also even if it does look cheap.
Let's see I'm gonna do a run down of the show.
Story was boring but it is just the first episode so we had to have the introduction and what not.
Cody Jones I don't see what all the big deal is that everyone is making about him He seemed OK to me He really didn't even talk much which is a shame I would love to know more about his back story and why he's alone.
Serling I liked him also He also serves a purpose he takes care of Cody and now the guys and splinter I'm sure he will come in handy.
The Turtles themselves eh I don't like how they're drawn and raph's still the same old Raph and all I guess but he just seem a bit more happy now which is kinda odd...I don't really see a difference in Mike one bit he's still the same goof ball since the show started....Don is exactly the same also. Leo was a bit quite and don't act his normal leader self but he really wasn't given the chance to I guess.
Splinter though he's the one that was bugging me he was acting so strange could be that they wanted the character to be shocked by going to the future he just seemed so out of it and distant...I just would think his character would have allot more to say.
The bad guys are kind of cool and I also like that the turtles didn't have weapons and fought them with only there hands and feet something we haven't seen in some time on the show.
I'm sure we all will have allot more to say though regarding all of the bad guys as the show progresses.
I love the scenery though the backgrounds are great in my opinion and will open up allot of interesting possibilities for the show.
I like how the Triceratons where around but it was to be expected I guess what were they driving a garbage truck?
I have to say my favorite part of the show was when they just got to Cody's place and he showed them everything he had I just loved seeing everything Baxter's Robot Body, the TCRI can, The masks, Shredders outfit, The foot mech., The foot symbols, etc.
I also really liked the Bebop look alike I thought that was cool!
I am shocked that I don't have this I really truly thought I would it's not as bad as I thought it was going to be.

No offense ... but I hope that never, ever, EVER happens. I would throw away any and all things TMNT and never watch it again. That would be the lowest low they can sink to.
I really think your being overly dramatic..I mean I respect your opinion and all but it honestly sounds like your just being a big fussy baby. I for one think It would be cool if they visited the old show but don't see it ever happening so need to get our panties in a bunch.
It wasn't quite as detailed as his. Not sure it was his..
Trust me that was Baxter's it's just the new lazy Anime style art they are using....Baxters my favorite tmnt character I'd recognize that outfit anywhere :)
One thing that gave me hives though... when they were in the alley: "It's ninja time!" Ohhh, shades of The Next Mutation
Actually it reminded me of the 80's cartoon when they would say things when they fight like "Go Green Machines!"
http://www.shreddersdojo.com/newshowtd.JPG
That is sooooo great what a good eye you have!
Peter Laird never said he hated the old show he just always wanted it to be more like the comic books.
Garbage Man was better than Constable and Cody's robot.
I'm sorry but I have to disagree with that at least the Constable and Serling serve a purpose.
Question:
If the 2003 style of this show had never happened, do you think you would like Fast Forward more?
Yes, I do but at the moment I'm not really having much of a problem it's just kind of another episode of tmnt to me...what with how fox screwed around with the 2003 show so much and all skipping episodes..playing them out of order and what not it kinda prepared me for this lol.
Is it just me or did the "time machine" resemble Donatello's dimensional portal machine from the original series?I thought the same thing hehe
Oh and the park where the turtle's castle is....so in 100 years they raised it up from the ground, lair and all?? Yea I thought was a bit odd also....even for a show about 4 talking turtles going to the future lol.
No. I'd never even give it a chance, like I did with this by watching it. I'll always hate when kids join the TMNTI don't know why but to me any time anyone says this or acts like this it leads me to believe they are jealous of this child character being friends with the turtles cause the person at hand always wishes they could be even though they aren't real not saying this is how you are BTW just stating something I believe.

Very few TMNT incarnations make me say "Dear God" (The only exception being NT:TNM, and even then, it's TMNT.), so I'll just stick it out. I tend to watch certain TMNT when I'm in a certain mood. Seriously I don't care if she doesn't like one thing or the next she could say F petter Laird and I wouldn't care but to keep throwing it out over and over again yea it's a bit much.
You know what I'm talking about BTW people are the same way with Zach from the old show someone you happen to like if I recall I'm pretty sure most people or kids growing up were pretty damn jealous of Zacks relationship with the turtles....it goes this way with any kid who becomes friends with them if you notice Danny, Keno, Zack, Carter, & now Cody.
And I didn't say it wasn't against her to act that way I said it was just an opinion to people who act that way. I'll thank you to not jump at everything I say when your one of the most opinionated people on this site.
And it's real mature to attack someone when they weren't even attacking someone in the first place. I thought I made myself pretty clear but I guess I didn't.
I also didn't say I liked the episode I liked what was in it and it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be so please get off my back.

But I am respecting your opinion I just don't want yours thrown at me every time I read someone else's comment is all. You say it once and that's all it needs to be said. In regards to the age thing, Leo said "After 15 years of ninja training...". They couldn't have started training when they were just little babies. It's not possible. There's probably a year or two between in there.
This is my two cents on the episode:
I give it a 8 out of 10. I did like it, and it really wasn't all that bad, but there are some things that just didn't settle well with me. Perhaps it will later with more episodes.
The theme song has got to go. There's no question of that. The sound effects weren't really needed, and most were out of place. One or two did actually make it funny, and was placed accordingly.
The animation is okay, but it's like an old sweater. Some worn places are showing through. Obviously they were struggling to adapt to the new style. And what's with them being different heights? It never mattered before. Though I do find the new green color of their eyes nice.
I liked Cody. I liked his character. He's not badly done at all. That's one of the things I was afraid of. Of course, it could still go one way or the other, but if they continued to do it well, he'll be better received.

Well here are my thoughts on the premiere. I thought the style looked very simplistic. Same form and everything but it lacked detail to the turtle's look. Splinter looked like a midget. :o Cody looked like a monkey. It was just very weird. It'll take some getting used to.
It wasn't a bad beginning, just like the animation the story lacked detail to make it seem...complete. Not sure if I'm conveying well what I'm meaning just that the show is lacking detail (as if the writers don't know where they want to take this).
I do admit I like the energy and fun feel it has I know a lot of folks hate that but well...change once in a while is good. Just as long as the change isn't permanent. Am I the only who feels kind of happy that the guys are able to live above ground a bit living it up? Yeah, yeah lame but I feel kind of happy for 'em. :P
I do feel for Cody though. That boy needs to get some medication (or drink less caffeine).

I liked it.
Yeah I'd have prefered to see the Ninja Tribunal arc first, but that's coming early next year so I'm not worried about it. They have 13 episodes to give a satisfying conclusion to the last four years and I'm sure they'll do a fantastic job.
What I really liked is that it's in continuity (they start in the new lair, probably a short while after coming back from Japan in the Tribunal story). Yes it's not heavy continuity (like the show had become) but it does follow on and there are some nice references to past events (Shredder's armour, April and Casey's relationship, Fugitoid, peaceful Triceratons etc). It's a fresh start without being a restart or completely seperate (but it's seperate enough that those who don't like it can say TMNT ends with the Tribunal arc).
Serling annoyed me, but I think that's because he was given a lot of exposition and not much character development. Both him and Cody need more character development, but I won't judge new characters on just one episode.
The TMNT all seemed fine to me. Not as deep as they were at the end of Season 4, but I'm sure we'll see those layers again as the series progresses. Same for Splinter.
I prefered the old designs, but it doesn't take long to adjust and the new ones aren't bad. As others have said it's like going from Batman The Animated Series to The New Batman Adventures, it's all more simplistic, easier to animate.
The theme song is still bad (though I found it more tolerable when I could look at the visuals and see hints of what's to come).
Seems like they're leaving it open ended with the "don't know how to return". If this is the last season of TMNT they can resolve it by season end and return them home, if FF is popular they can keep it going for another season or more, or they can use it to return them home for more present day adventures in the next season. Personally I the second is most likely then the first (though I hope not), the third I think will only happen if the movie proves to be extremely popular (merchandise making more than FF does) so they want to return the cartoon to present day to cash in.
Overall it wasn't perfect, but it was far better than I expected. It's fresh and I'll be sure to watch it to see what happens - what the future has in store for the TMNT, hints to their past (and references to what's come before), and to see if they can make it home again.

I watched it again....
I dunno. It was sillier and all that, but maybe it won't be too bad. It's like all the 80's show fans who vowed never to watch the 2k3 show because it was different. We're writing it off based on one episode. How many times last year or in other previous seasons did you watch one episode and go...Wow...that sucked. *shrugs* Maybe we need the youngins to watch them again so in 15 years or so we get another mature version of the TMNT to enjoy. I dunno.

I think if I'd seen the show WITHOUT the awful opening song, I would have liked it better. But hearing that put me on red alert for all things to come so I think I was a bit harsher than I otherwise would have been. Gah...the original theme for this show wasn't exactly inspired but this was insipid. It PAINED me.
Still, the episode was pretty crappy. The last season was kind of lackluster for me and I'd REALLY been hoping for a Bishop arc....they'd built him up to be so badass and he was in the opening credits and all that so I don't understand why they just keep forgetting he exists o_o It looks like they're continuing the downward spiral of characters I don't care about and plots that don't interest me.
Going to the future had a whole lot of now squandered potential. I'm not big on futuristic space battle stuff with the turtles because there is SO MUCH that can be done with them without relying on flashyflashy explosions and giant spaceships...BUT they did the Turtles in Space arcs fantastically and those are some of my favorite episodes now. But in this future we don't see unique cultures and strong characters....instead we see stereotypes (a british cop but OH HO he is a robot, a kid who is smart but overprotected because he's rich, weird looking aliens, etc). We've got a plot based on contrivances (heir to the O'Neil-Jones fortune? BAH that would never happen). Re-used jokes and poor quality animation (reminds me of filler episodes of Sailor Moon that look so jarringly lazy).
At least the dynamics between the characters are still the same. But I dunno. It doesn't look like they're doing anything new with it, just rehashing old stuff...haven't Mikey and Raph fought over the remote before? I DID like Splinter being the one for the win but soaps? I can't see him watching soaps. ANYTHING he said he'd want to watch would have been funny, they didn't have to over-the-top it with something ridiculous to his character.
I'll keep watching to see what happens, but the theme song alone sounds like a death bell.
What really pains me though is that, while this could be worse...it HAS BEEN SO MUCH BETTER! I was looking through youtube videos of TMNT and stumbled on a TMNT music video to Linkin Park and even though it was just scenes and no dialogue, it was so much more intense, gorgous, real, meaningful, depthful (XD), and worthwhile. And it's really hard to go from that to something lesser.

I agree with almost everything anyone said...this new series isn't nearly as good as the retro,(um, I think 1987 is retro, not 2003) but it's not so awful that I will stop watching. The one part that pissed me off the most that I don't think anyone mentioned...at the end of the episdoe they just suddenly accepted the fact that they were stuck in the future. They don't even need to get adjusted they just forget about everything they had in their old life and now that there are new video game systems and a kid their age to hang out with...they're happy as hell. I wish it showed them angry that the are stuck in the future and at least for a few episodes try to figure out ways to get back.
I'm posting this without reading the whole thread. It's just too long :D
So, after all the crap about how Fast Forward is going to ruin the show and so on, I was sceptical, but it wasn't that bad really. In fact, I think they can do nice stuff with the future arc. Though they can do some really bad stuff too, only time will tell which way it will go. I'll continue to watch the show no matter what and hope for better times in season 6.
The animation of Fast Forward is worse than before - more simplistic and more anime-like (sorry anime-lovers, but I don't like it) and the theme song is awful. But the storyline has potential and I'm eagerly awaiting to see what they came up with ;)

Here's one thing about the epsiode...a lot of it's praise is coming from people who notice small nods to continuity, cheap references here and there that somehow justifies the story being "Ok"
We're in a very sad state if all we're going to say is "It was'nt bad", it reminds of the members of the Power Rangers fandom who threw away their tastes and dry humped a big time Hollywood producer's use of nothing but explosions and less and less ellaboration on story and characters. They betrayed their roots just to sustain the franchise on the air or get it noticed by the big guns.
We're in a better posistion, we don't HAVE to watch this season, we've seen the best the revamped franchise has to offer for four years, we know it's getting a sixth one, there's a movie coming out, unlike PR's fanbase we don't have to sell out and say we liked this, for good or bad, unlike PR, Fast Forward is'nt the only thing sustaining this franchise and we don't have to put up with it.
This season will be more stand-alone, it's been said it on the packaging, there won't be much ellaboration, no arcs, none of the stuff we've come to expect from the series, any real two parters will be forumlic and simpler than before. The first episode indicated this alone, and it's sad.
Batman Beyond's second season was a lot more stand-alone than it's first or third, and noone really likes that one that much, true there's some excellent episodes in that season, but the best seasons were with Derik Powers/Blight (who they never brought back after the first season), and the war with Kobra, I don't know what the heck justified making season two of that stand-alone.
(00:19:42) (Jester) Ok...tell me. The theme song, were you half expecting it to to say "How long their good times'll last, but just stick around an see these turtles" KICK @$$!!!
You're not the only one! Makes me wonder. Implicit lyrics are an old trick for giving censors the slip. Not that they were trying to do that in this case, but...
Our noble tmnt show writers spent the past 4 years, in my view, sneaking an abundance of not-really-all-that-much-for-kids material into a Y-rated show. I look forward to seeing if they keep trying to do that. Because, ya know, old habits....
Zelda: Personally, I think Splinter could find soap operas amusing. Splinter truly reminds me of my grandmother.

I don't like the idea of making the episodes stand alone this season. The intro episodes should've been a multi-parter to help introduce the new location a bit better.
I enjoyed the classic TMNT animated series when I was a kid. But now I'm 23 and seeing them on DVD. It just just seems like the same thing goes down in just about every episode. *yawn* That's one of the reasons I enjoy the 2K3 series more (not including FF, of course).
As for PR, I still prefer the Saban years over Disney's. I began watching PR for the stories I couldn't see on many other live action shows. But then Disney took over and now it's all *actionactionaction*. Who cares if the stories suffer, right?

I may not hate ALL of the Disney seasons, in fact SPD is the only one I downright loathe, for a billion reasons, not just because it was badly written and badly produced, but because it turned the fandom into gutless Holywood shills who are fine with anything getting on the screen so long as the franchice thrives. I could see him knitting more than I can see him watching soaps..... I could see him watching home and garden or cooking but soap operas appeal with rampant drama and emotions and sexual intrigue--Splinter is way too zen for that. I could see him watching homemaker shows, but not soaps...like I could see him knitting a blanket but not booties ;p there's a line between a character quirk and just being silly.
Thanks for the art comparison Vegita-san. That makes me want to forget about FF and just watch my DVDs on Saturday mornings! Gah....why ruin a good thing? If they wanted it to be that far dumbed down and restylized they could've just made a new series >_> and then the current series could be what it is, the old show could be the hilarious wonderful cheese that it is, and FF could be what it is...none of them infringing on each other.

Trust me that was Baxter's it's just the new lazy Anime style art they are using....Baxters my favorite tmnt character I'd recognize that outfit anywhere :)They didn't skimp on the Shredder's armor, though, or any of the other backgrounds... *shrug*
On a second look, the far out shot is actually more detailed than the close-up (weird...), and it is Baxter's, you're right, I'm shutting up. ;)
Actually it reminded me of the 80's cartoon when they would say things when they fight like "Go Green Machines!"
Eeee. I think I find that marginally more tolerable than TNM's catch-phrases, only because I was eleven to thirteen when I watched the old 'toon, and it didn't bother me as much as it did when I was 18. :p
Is it just me or did the "time machine" resemble Donatello's dimensional portal machine from the original series?
Yeah, I did kind of think so. On the other hand, I thought it looked a bit like Kirby's portal, also. Wasn't it the inspiration for the old show's portals, anyway?
I DID like Splinter being the one for the win but soaps? I can't see him watching soaps. That was around since the very beginning, in the surrounding literature (web site character profiles, etc), that he's a fan of bad soap operas. There were other things, like "never let Don cook" (LOL), and that April had been taking lessons with Splinter very soon after she met them. These things are probably stuff from the character guide for the production team, that may or may not ever be mentioned in any episodes, but have always been there. It's just that they haven't mentioned the soaps till now.
They don't even need to get adjusted they just forget about everything they had in their old life and now that there are new video game systems and a kid their age to hang out with...they're happy as hell. I wish it showed them angry that the are stuck in the future and at least for a few episodes try to figure out ways to get back.
They kind of didn't have time to sit down and worry about it, yet... by the time the conflict was resolved, the episode was over, and there wasn't time for any more exposition. I'm sure we'll see them tackle the problem (or at least obsess about it) plenty of times this season.
Woah! Nice "Future Tense" signature, Doppleganger. What's the occasion? :) (ack, I know I haven't PMed you in a while, I'll get to it, really I will :goofygri: )

What has happened durring the course of 100 years? Did global warming affected earth's gravitational pull and caused it to produce less oxygen?

Serling explained it. Each burough/street/whatever has it's own environment (with the help of force fields to keep it in I think) so that the aliens living there can live in an environment close to their native one. Everyone wears those envirosuits so they can go from one environment to another without having to worry.

I guess my main reason for not liking it as much at TMNT2K3 would be that it's same villians doing the same things just about every episode.. and there's not as much of a continuing storyline. :p But I see your point about repitition in the new series as well..

SPD is my least favorite season so far. Disney has to stop switching out the executive producers and let them get some experience at this. Kalish's SPD was trash, but at least he's improved a little this year with Mystic Force (and I bet Jackie Marchand as story editor helped :p).
To answer my own question, I think I would have liked FF less if I hadn't been attached to the 2003 version.
With the animation change, I almost feel like FF is some kind of strange dream one of the turtles is having. *shrug*

Heheheh or the Gargoyles fandom. Currently their was a big discussion over the Gargoyles comic's art. It sucks majorly but it has Greg Weisman's story to it (though even that won't make me watch "The Batman" or "Witch". Its a bit of quandry if you ask me. Do you support blindly a fandom that you love or do you let it fail because you do not like the current quality. Heh, as sucky as it was I admit I watched Goliath Chronicles episodes just because it was Gargoyles. Lame I know. :P
Lots of a valid if not very, very vocal posts you have their Zarius. I think it's mostly a matter of opinion. People will like what they like whether it be for the storyline, the artwork or a little of both.
Question:
If the 2003 style of this show had never happened, do you think you would like Fast Forward more?
Good question Iris! I think if they had shown this sort of stuff in 2003 I might have given it a chance a very slim chance as Jo Dawn had said but a chance. Gargoyles and Batman: The Animated Series would have been fresher in my mind so I'm not sure...maybe I would have chucked it after the first few episodes. I probably would have done the same to the new TMNT style they did air but I gave it a chance, I was impressed and voila the rest is history. ;)

Im probobly going to reiterate what a vast majority of posters already stated, but i want to input my 2 cents.
I hate this new style of animation, the blockiness of their heads make them look like...well...bucketheads. Bad, bad move.
While I very much enjoy sci fi and future stories, who thought the future and the TMNT would be a good idea? They are gonna scrape the barrell for every cliche they can find now. Another example of how the suits love to fix things that aint broken.
flame me for this if you must, but i think this is where this show jumps the shark.

I'm not gonna read all 8 pages, but I do agree with rikirk here. (Except for liking the sox, go cubbies!)
I'll probably follow fastforward until I get bored and forget it's on. The pilot episode seemed to incorporate pretty much everything I was hoping they wouldn't do. Like Cody Jones building a time machine and sending the turtles from the past to the future. This serling robot guy being a total tool, and everything pretty much was like Ninja Turtles mixed with every Nickelodeon cartoon, even the theme song screamed "trying to hard". I hate the new theme song.
The animation was bad, though I did like the fight scene towards the end, seemed pretty well done.
Oh well I can at least look forward to the movie. I think the turtles cartoon is on its way out, and I really don't mind. Which is something I can't believe I'm saying, but when you mix in teeny-punk rockers with lame jokes and gags it'll take more than just a bebop homage to get this old timer hooked.
Another example of how the suits love to fix things that aint broken..I never could have worded it so perfectly.

I do agree with you I was watching some old episodes of PR this past week and man I really used to like this show allot and never realized it.
Mostly when Lord Zed came into the show.
But hasn't Power Rangers always had huge explosions?
One things that's always botherd me though about Power Rangers is the mouths on the bad guys hadrly ever move...it bugged me as a teen and it bugs me now you think with Disney backing them up they would fix that but we see how much Disney cares about things it buys The Muppets are proof of that they are sitting around collecting dust. Along with many other things I'm sure.
Lol btw I always call it STD also so funny haha. It does make the Theme song fun to sing! Oh well can't win em all.

I kind of like the Gargoyles comic artwork, but then the same can be said how too many people here complain about Lawson's art. I'm just not an art critic (as a lot of animation "fans" are labelling themselves these days to looks crass, one-sided and snobbish...look at my sig with the petition and you'll know which sites I'm talking about:lol: ) and it looks pretty diverse enough for me to keep reading.
As for "support a fandom blindly"...I just think we have a large enough franchise not to depend on one aspect if Fast Forward proves to be bad, with Gargoyles it was on the verge of cancelation when "Goliath Chronicles" aired and had'nt come close to really displaying it's potential, you had two years of "true" Gargoyles and now it's just getting started again, but for how long is unknown. TMNT has had four to five years, an incredible shelf life, which has spawned a movie. Regardless of what 4Kids think, it's done pretty well without having to change it

Alright, I finally got to see this episode and here are my two cents:
First off, the ANIMATION wasn't bad. The animation actually looked a damn sight more fluid than the past seasons. The ART however, while far from vomit inducing as many are claiming it to be, is noticably different. It's not hugely different, and it's certainly not as good as the past few seasons. I think the most noticable difference is the simplified line work and the lack of lighting effects (as shown by the screencaps in the thread) - but even in the later seasons of the 2k3 series, the lighting effects were nowhere near what they were in the first season.
Storywise it was pretty much on par with what's come before it. It certainly wasn't the best, but there are some pretty mediocre episodes amidst the 2k3 series as well. I'm sure from the frames in the opening that there will be some pretty good episodes down the track, some of the villains/monsters looked pretty sweet. It was a typical set-up episode so I wasn't really expecting too much from it, but I was satisfied by what I saw. This is far from the death knell everyone was expecting. I still stand by the notion that too many people went all up in arms too early over this show.
Now, I did not like everything. The music wasn't as good. The theme, yes, is awful. The robots for the most part were terrible. The cop-bot and Serling are both irritating as hell. Cody however is not, and doesn't really even figure into the story that much at all. Splinter was also off. His mouth animations and lack thereof facially made him feel flat, however, I think his physicality bodywise is an improvement.
All in all, it was an OK start. Not fantastic but far from awful. I'm going to need to see more episodes of this to properly judge how long I stick with it. I'll be honest, I'm hoping for a bit more diversity in terms of the villains of this series. I was getting really tired of Bishop, Baxter and Karai. Bishop was the only one advancing, but he wasn't doing it fast enough. I was also over Ch'rell/the Shredder a long time ago and breathed a massive sigh of relief when he was exiled. I still eagerly await the Lost Season, but I look forward to seeing what FF actually does for the TMNT from here on out...

Damn right!! To be honest as much as I like dark gritty and dramatic stories I really enjoy relaxed humourous storlines that has proper doses of dark themes and grit. I hate when people nock the classic series and try to hold it up to the 2003 series standards because they are just worlds away from each other. The only thing you can compare between the two maybe is some of the characters
And of course 2003 has superior animation than the 1987 series, because the classic series was mostly cell animation, and the new one is mostly digiatal with some CGI thrown in. Hard to compare, right?
As far as FF goes, i've been pretty optimistic up until now. I really didn't like the first episode, and I watched the whole thing with a sinking feeling. I felt that it didn't have the edge that i'm used to seeing with this series. And that mad me sad  . Frankly I agree with whom ever said that foxkids tried to fix something that didn't need to be fixed, by changing the over-all tone of the series. Maybe I'll feel differently after i've seen more episodes of this season, and it'll be better, but i feel that some of the spirit that the series had before has been lost.
Fast Foward to my way of thinking is becoming the Red Sky of the current series, by dramatically switching tones like this.

Watched it today. The whole plot was pretty boring, I yawned a few times and only laughed when Splinter mentioned his soap operas... The theme song is really cheesy and I can't stand it... and yanno - I liked every TMNT opening theme, even the Next Mutation one ("nananana ninja! Ninja Turtles!" - hey, it was catchy!). I'm not going to rant over the new character design - it's kinda dull.
But the whole episode wasn't that bad in overall - or maybe I expected something way worse...
...yet it's definitely not as good as the original 2003 series. But I'll give it a chance anyway.
EDIT: Oh - and the Triceratons as the paperboys were cool to see. Just like that Bebop-like driver.
Was it just me, or did slave gang not touch the turtles when they were able to attack them after splinter gave them a strategy?

Heheheh or the Gargoyles fandom. Currently their was a big discussion over the Gargoyles comic's art. It sucks majorly but it has Greg Weisman's story to itWhaaa? I thought it was good! Well, ptthhpt :p
While I very much enjoy sci fi and future stories, who thought the future and the TMNT would be a good idea?
It's been working fine in Volume 4... (well, futuristic, not the future, I know, but I don't think it's that important a distinction)
It was either the show going downhill at some point or they could have dropped it in its prime. Which would you have preferred? Everyone is welcome to answer that question.Woah, no, it's not that bad! I'd much rather have this than nothing. I'm looking forward to some good stories (there's a good potential, anyway. Whether they use that potential wisely, is another story). It's also getting me all thoughtful about TMNT2K3's time travel model again... does an (accidentally!) human-made time machine follow the time tree idea that the scepter does, or is this future inevitable?

I'ts as I feared...it sucks...fast forward(backward?) sucks! :(
Maybe if they lost those sci-fi outfit things they are wearing...maybe...
Now I'm REALLY waiting for the lost season
All I can say is that I am angry. Just watching it makes me want to destroy something. They took everything they were working on for the last four years and took a humungous crap all over it. There was not want part of the whole thing I liked. I actually couldn't wait for it to be over. It was painfull. They got rid of anything on that show that could have possibly entertained me. I'm done with this show(and no, I don't think I'm overracting).

Forgive me for my ignorance but I'm very out of the loop concerning the TMNT show. I didn't even know about fastforward until someone asked me if I was going to watch it. I checked it out on youtube and was very disappointed and now I'm thinking that we'll never see the 2003 version (or that nice animation) again.
What exactly is "the lost season"? Is where things left off in the 2005 series where they arrive in Japan? Because I was honestly interested in seeing what happened with that..or is it something else.. available on DVD??

The Lost Season will follow up on the events of "The Ninja Tribunal" and it's considered the true fifth season of the series, and it will presumbly be, unless the DVD season is a hit (and given Marvel are now ripping off the concept for their new Spider-Man series, there's now a large chance it'll be part of a succesfully profitable market) the last "true" season of TMNT as we know it.

After doing some thinking, I think Bishop will not be in the series. He is probably out of a job and/or dead. Afterall, his whole focus was on stopping aliens and mutants. It looks like he failed....:D
Maybe he had a change of heart and and has reversed his policy on aliens etc.

This future seems better lame to me, the only this concept could have worked is if the future was a depressing dystopia controled by an oppressive regime and the Turtles become freedom fighters or a cyber punk future (like Batman Beyond) which is more stylish and less depressing than a dystopia but still has problems, like government corruption, control of society by mega corps and so on. Even then it would have been dicey. This goofy future with a goofy British robot cop, does not really follow the tone of the previous seasons, which were somewhat dark.

Well that was the whole point. The higher ups at 4 Kids felt a show with dark tones and lengthy plot devices was bad, and they needed more stupid humor.

A future dystopia is such a cliché. I don't want Turtles Beyond. Why does the future have to be a dystopia or a utopia? Why can't it just be a world with its good side and its bad side... you know... like it always has been? That seems to be what we're seeing from FF right now, for good or ill.
Are people missing that the whole point of Fast Forward was to make Turtles less dark and scary for the inves-- erm...--for the children?

Cyber punk worlds are sometimes just the current world only a little more dark and stylish. I'm just saying if you want future timeline that fits with the somewhat dark themes of the past seasons, British robot cops do not work. Againhaving a somewhat dark future could have at least had the possibility of something interesting comming out this mess, but even that is dicey, this FF nonsense seems like a gimmick and it seems like a shark jump for the TMNT to me

Well that just doesn't work, its too jarring. I'm begining to think it would be better if they just aired the true fifth season and ended the series there, end it on a high note. This FF nonsense is starting look as bad as The Goliath Chronicles
4Kids doesn't care if it's jarring. They don't care about continuity. The point is, effectively, discontinuity with what they were doing, to take the Turtles concept in a visibly different direction, to please the people with the money. They are trying to get ratings up among the audience of little kids (and parents) and increase subsequent spending on related merchandise.
You can't sell your Ninja Turtles Monster Hunterâ„¢ toys as well if the show featuring the monster hunter gear gets pulled off the air by the censors. *cough*Insane In The Membrane*cough* This tends to displease the Powers That Be. But as far as I can tell, the writers seem to be trying to keep some modicum of continuity, despite all that. I'm sure they're doing their best.

I dunno what to say about this episode. The new designs are just ass compared to the designs of the '03 series. The animation is so-so. I only liked the fight scene, seeing the boys use their heads in the fight (especially Don with his trash-hopping beatdown). But Cody sounds nothing like a 14-year-old. The guy is a few notches below Barry White on the bass scale. I like the interpretation of the future and how things are... but meh, something about this episode just didn't appeal to me.
And how the Turtles are totally looking forward to staying in 2105? ARE YOU SERIOUS?! The Turtle CAN'T stay in 2105. That's not their time. Seriously, I will be hella-pissed if they try to keep the Turtles in this time period. No, just... no!
Anyway, decent episode. It wasn't as bad as I feared it would be. I tried to keep an optimistic look about it, and I guess this could do. But ugh, they could surely do without the heavy goofiness. Seriously, forget kids... when have they ever been important?
Anyway, good starting episode. If the same writers are on-board, I trust they'll tie stories in nicely. They've done it with the '03 series, and it seems like they're already covering connections and background info all within a starting episode (with the reason for the future gear, why the Turtles are in the future, a little bit about Cody).
Seriously though, I don't think I'm going to like how this show is having the Turtles share the spotlight with Cody. But I applaud them for giving Splinter a huger role in this show (or at least in this episode). They aren't making Splinter some old rat who needs his sons to carry him. As long as Splinter can carry his own weight, I'm content.
Why does the future have to be a dystopia or a utopia? Why can't it just be a world with its good side and its bad side... you know... like it always has been? That seems to be what we're seeing from FF right now, for good or ill.Like Back to the Future: Part II is what I've been picking up on...
And, on a side note, I thought the "Ninja-Chucks of the Future" joke at the end of the ep 119 preview (http://wm.world.mii-streaming.net/media/4kids/previews/TFF_episodic_119_Multistream500.wmv) was funny. It was the only part of the preview that I found interesting, but... Everyone just needs to settle down because you won't accomplish anything by hating the show before it even gets off the ground. And, why is it that people I never even heard of before are crawling out of the woodwork to gripe about the show? You people should be ashamed of yourselves for being so selfish and hateful. Anything you think you won't like, you have to beat senseless before you give it the opportunity to change your mind. We all know the shows' advertisement was always flawed, so the shows won't be as lame as they make it appear. But, when you see the finished product, you want to be that much more meticulous in criticising it just because you won't admit you were mistaken in believing that it would be unbearable. The tiny sacrifices we have to make as fans to accomodate the franchise we love are nothing compared to how bad it actually could be. If you don't love the franchise, shut the hell up.
Ack. Put away the loyalty meter, gobo. People can like TMNT without liking Fast Forward, and many people have already said they're trying to give it a chance even if first impressions are unfavorable. :P

The Lost Season gurantees us we will have a solid, decent resolution to the plot holes left behind from the previous season, in short, the franchise still thrives for the current series, so why should the detractors have to watch something we dislike just to support something that's been butchered in it's stead purley because it's the "franchise". I know right. Wouldn't them staying in the future screw up the future? I mean I would think that they would have to go back and accomplish their roles in the past so that the future could happen.
And you know I have a weird feeling that in the very last episode of the FF season will go something like this:
Cody manages to fix the time window and the turtles have a chance to go back, but he is all mopey that he is going to lose his only friends and that he'll be all alone again with only a whinny robot for company. The turtles notice this and feel guilty about leaveing the twerp, and start to have second thoughts. They say there last farewells to Cody and jump through the time window making Cody (along with the audiance) think that they are going back to the present. Cody is crushed (and audiance feels happy, yay this crap is over) when suddenlly the turtles jump back through and say "Surprice, we've decided to stay here after all"! Cody is beside him self with joy and the loyal TMNT fans put their foot through their TV sets
Seriously if this happens with the boys deciding to stay when they have a chance to go back i'll be one unhappy fangirl.

I would tend to agree, Sewer Bull. The writer's DELIBERATELY left a hint that the guys and Splinter might be able to go back to 2006 (or whatever the shell year it is that they LEFT from), and take up where they left off. I would imagine that, DOING that, Splinter and the boys WOULD have some regrets, especially if they've gotten fond of Cody and Serling (who, I'll admit, I like a LOT more than that egotistical nitwit, Biggles), but MAYBE they would feel that they were needed in OUR time, rather than 2105. And I figure that out of ALL of them, the one who would be THE most reluctant to go back to his own time would, naturally, be Donnie, due to the technology and stuff. But that's just MY take on things.
Still, only time will tell about all this. The show (which is NOT a new "series", but really IS Season 5, according to the official website) has only aired ONE episode; HARDLY something from which to judge the whole entire SEASON on. Like I've said many times before, we ALL need to just chill and wait to see what the REST of the season brings BEFORE we wholesale TRASH "Fast Forward". At least...that's what I'M going to do. So just relax, folks. Methinks things will get better as time goes on.;)
Anyway, peace.

OK, here's something new that bugged me that I hadn't thought of before:
OK, so they're in the future, and, apparently, going to just sliiiide right in there like this is nothing new. ...Alright, that's ANother gripe I have.
But my big one is...
...
April and Casey... their whole lives before all this... is DEAD. And not one of them cares. Where is the emotions? Do April and Casey really NOT matter that much? I hate when they do big changes like this, and act like nothing before mattered, but everything new DOES. You'd think at least one of them would mourn what they left behind and possibly forever lost...
...I also considered writing a fic about this, but I just can't... I'm... I don't think I even CAN.

But, verbally abusing the show on the internet this much only insures that the new audience they're trying to attract won't give the show a second thought because there are 50 negative reviews for every one "nice touch" added into the show.Who the hell are you to say we don't love the franchise because we're choosing to wait for a better product out of it?(...while committing a hate-crime in the process.) Where did you get that from? I thought I made it clear that I was only talking to the people who showed up just to demonize the show in those last couple of sentences. If not, "Oh, ma bad, dawg". I guess that makes me human. If you haven't noticed, Richard, I'm presenting an exaggeration here to mirror the exaggeration of how bad people keep trying to make the show out to be. I finally got to watch the episode so I figured I might as well throw in my two cents...
As corny as the new theme is, I love it. I've been listening to it waaaaaaaaaay too much.
The whole new look is nicely explained. I prefer it over them having to wear Triceraton breathers.
Cody Jones doesn't bother me at all. I'm amazed. Hell, I may even start to like him as a character. He definitely has some of Casey's and April's traits.
I was really concerned about the change but after seeing this episode, the turtles are still the turtles.
Plus, seeing them naked for like five minutes was awkward.

Uh, anyone who has e-mailed Dan Berger received the same response; the decision to go into the future was LAIRD's decision.
The only difference is FF was bumped up a year early for the toy sales. Fast Foward was always going to happen, it isn't 4kids making the show, "jump the shark" when the idea came from the creator himself.
If the Volume 4 series was still going, I'd write to Laird myself...damn 8 month hiatus...

And the decision to tone it down was his also? Bulls*it, 4kids or FOX definatly had a hand in that depatrment, but watch Dan play damage control and tell the fans otherwise. I've seen this dirty pool before from corporate "fan" sites, it's old money to spin the complaints into something that could calm tempers.

Of course Dan wouldn't report dissent within the system. First, that's Laird's business, and second, it's just good policy. But don't imply that Dan doesn't tell the truth.
I agree that it doesn't sound like a Laird idea to change the tone of the show... not in this way at least.

I emailed him about why the change in art style, and he said it was the higher up's decision. Heres the response he gave me...
Our international partners required us to take the TMNT cartoon in a
new direction because they felt the show was too dark, too serialized
and didn't contain enough light-hearted humor. "Fast Forward" was the
direction that Peter Laird was most comfortable pursuing.
I also asked will this stick in future seasons and he said there are no plans beyond season 5.

So... THIS was the lesser of the evils, as it were? For Laird to choose THIS... Oy. I'm afraid to know what the other options were.
And ugh, I hate hate HATE that 'it didn't contain enough light humor'. ...That's why it was GOOD.
...I'm actually happy I have to work tomorrow morning.
....But, just so no one says anything, I AM gonna TiVo it, so I will make myself watch it, just to 'give it a chance'.

Cyber punk worlds are sometimes just the current world only a little more dark and stylish. I'm just saying if you want future timeline that fits with the somewhat dark themes of the past seasons, British robot cops do not work. Againhaving a somewhat dark future could have at least had the possibility of something interesting comming out this mess, but even that is dicey, this FF nonsense seems like a gimmick and it seems like a shark jump for the TMNT to me
I've really gotten to thinking perhaps people are just angry because this isn't the future Donatello saw in Same As It Never Was....Just a thought...
Honesly just because the sky isn't dark doesn't mean that evil isn't around..shesh..I mean honestly we've only seen one episode so far...I'm not happy about it just like the rest of you...but I know just like the rest of you even if you say your not going to watch I know you are...

Honesly just because the sky isn't dark doesn't mean that evil isn't around..
The promos for FF stated that this would be a dark bleak future with no Shredder, no foot clan and no junk food....Now it appears the only dark, bleak thing is they have to wear those exosuits and that Cody's uncle is evil...well so far that's the only dark bleak thing. That robot Bobby tho makes me wonder if the British rule the world now or something.

I pretty much agree with that. The future that Donatello saw was constructed to be his personal nightmare... his family members dead, scarred, and/or drifting apart, and the Shredder ruling the world with evil flair... etc.

Unfortunetly here in America...TV execs are under the mindset that only little children watch animations. :/
And really...none of this makes any sense anyway. TMNT was doing great ratings wise and now there is a feature film coming out...you'd think they would keep the hype going by keeping the show going...but instead they ruin it for many of the fans and change the tone of the show so it DOESN'T resemble the movie?
I think maybe the higher ups have gone senile.

TMNT was never really doing that great in the ratings. Most of the time Winx Club and Sonic X even beat it.
Cartoon Network cancelled TMNT because it performed so poorly, what does that tell you?
The new show failed at achieving the popularity that the old show did, plain and simple. All the rating reports have been mediorce, and 4kids was probably hoping it would be a big hit but instead it barely made a splash.

By the response, you pretty much can see the international partners wanted to make the show like the old series to gain ratings from the former fans. But I still don't get why they had to put it in the future though.
TMNT wasn't and still isn't being marketed to the right audience. I tell you, if the Tonami line up consisted of TMNT, Naruto, Samurai Jack, Megas XLR, and Justice League Unlimited, it would have made a killing.
Also, I'd hate to see the other options too. maybe TMNT Babies, or Turtles in Space.....oh....nervermind.

Naurto is the stupidest anime I have ever seen. It takes all the suck elements from all the animes out there*That also suck* and puts them into one ball of suck. I've seen a bunch of episodes*My girlfriend made me watch* and I didn't like any of them. I've seen then from all around the series. It's just so bad and there's way to many episodes. Anime doesn't have good enough writting to go past like 25 episodes.

To each his own I guess. Naruto is my favorite anime, and my 6th favorite tv show of all time.
And I credit some of the animes that only had around 25 episodes. Namely Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop. They managed to tell a great story, and wrap it up without it going past it's prime.
Besides Fullmetal Alchemist had like 47 episodes and it's wrtiing was excellent.

I wouldn't mind a short series about the adventures they had as children...The two 'toons that come to mind when I hear a "Babies" incarnation of a pre-existing franchise are Muppet Babies and Looney Tunes Babies. Both of them were made to be toddlertainment, and that I actually would have a problem with if it happened to TMNT. Actually, I saw someone's drawing of TMNT Babies about a month ago (looking very professional, like concept art) and I wondered if that might have been one of the other options Laird was presented with for "a new direction". Thank god he didn't choose that! If it was like a series of "The Lesson", I could take that. I'd probably even enjoy it. I'll try to find the link to that art, and edit it in later.

I can't beleive you just put Muppert Babies, a show that dealt with a Scientology issue amongst other deep subjects whilst posing as a toddler's show, with Baby Loony Toons, which deals with basic issues and IS a toddler's show.
Muppet Babies was a pretty cool show with a fairly unusual concept... Especially with the live-action footage mixed in. It probably had some direct influences on the original Turtles cartoon, too. I don't think I'd want to see the turtles THAT young, but it would have been interesting to have a season of turtle younguns learning to wreak havoc.

Yea.. I loved Muppet Babies! Where else would you get Dr. Who, Star Trek, and Star Wars all in one sitting?! That's like my fave ep... Capt. Kirkmet rulz.
Sure there were continuity issues (uh whoever wrote Muppet Babies...it was nice that Kermit's nephew showed up as a Tadpole and all but er...Robin is not a mere 2 years younger than Kermit... :P) but it was still good.
Baby Looney Tunes however was just a series made after all the years of the products that were created.
Also there was Baby Disney....which even had Goofy's wife (Princess something) as one of Baby Minnie's friends.
So Child Mutant Ninja Turtle adventures...well altho I LOVE the flashback eps that deal with em (Tales of Leo and the Hey! We met Casey when we were kids and didn't realize it! ep) a whole series would just be a bit lame.
The Comics have dealt with the adventures of pre-TMNT several times (How they got their weopons 2 parter and the how they chose their mask colors in Archie. Plus the issues of Tales of the TMNT that deal with young ones).
If you want Baby Turtles....go watch the 2 eps of the original series that deal with a machine that makes them become toddlers....see how you like how all of the sudden everybody is their aunt or uncle. Auntie April, Uncle Splinter... or the ep where Shredder becomes a baby....or the ep where Rocksteady and BeBop became toddlers and POOF! "Unca Shredder!"
Lame? Seriously? Well, granted, Muppet Babies started the whole 'lyk omg let's make them all babies!' trend. But I would like to think that pre-TMNT might have a little more substance. Those other "babies" shows were mainly about how silly it would be if they turned established popular characters into little kids, for the novelty of it. Kind of like if we took established characters and stranded them in a new, unfamiliar setting for the novelty of it. *ahem*

If it were "Kid Turtles" and not "Baby Turtles" ... maybe.
But I'm with Raph's Girl... first "Unca Splinter!" and I'd probably axe the TV. :dead:
And yet, some serious stuff with the same tone as the 2k3 show (maybe a miniseries rather than a full season?) with the young TMNT finding out how cruel the world is? Could be interesting, if handled right.
...
What am I talking about? This is 4Kids.

heh, tell that to the Inuyasha series, 160 plus episodes and they still couldn't wrap up the series...and the damn manga, which is still running till this day, which plans to go till at least volume 50, according to Rumiko Takahashi!!! I agree with you about Naurto it sucks, and my little sister is always forcing me to watch it with her:evil: .
As far as TMNT Fast foward goes, I'm not liking it so far. I don't care for this change in tone. The only thing that might save this season for me is if they do some serious character development and have the turtles have to adjust and take somethign from all of this. And that they return to the present.
I wouldn't be opposed to a few flash back episodes (hell maybe even a whole four episosed arc) of the Turtles tots. I think I would like that. But only if its handled well and not reduced to them being little dim-wits that incoprate baby-talk and consist of clamatic scenes of "get the remote control out of Splinters room with out being seen, so we can watch Barnie"! That would kill me:cry:

I'm finding myself more into the episodes that are not poorly done adaptions of Mirage comic books.
And the entire FF dvd collection is nothing but orig. tales and characters.

Yeah, I guess you're right. It wasn't all bad and had some good bits of humor and animation. It probably would have been ideal as a 3-parter, but all those episodes just sort of run together in my memory. I'll need to re-watch them all sometime.
I didn't mind FF when it came out but when I re-watched it after going through the rest of the 2k3 it was a bit lackluster.
