You might have noticed that today's Fil-day. You know Fil, the one who'll borrow five bucks from you and never pay them back. If you don't, then be assured that Fil is somewhat of a legend here.

So, tomorrow's not Fil-Day, obviously, because Fil-Day's only today. But what if we just add other days? Like real days? I mean, there's the fourth of July or the fourteenth of July or the first of August, all holidays in countries with Drome-Members. What if we just added our holidays, with a little information? I mean, wouldn't it be fun to see when Switzerland dropped the Tscheburaschka (The revenge for the Przepulkinatron-attack, by the way) on Poland or what really happened on July 14th?

Or we could add important days for TMNT-history. Like The first issue of V1 appeared on day X or something.

That way we could actually use the calendar for other things than birthdays and... well... birhdays. It only takes you two or three minutes. I mean, I copypasted something from Wikipedia, took me three seconds. And it would not only be interesting, it would also be educational.

Wouldn't that be fun?

That does sound fun!

And the first issue of V1 was, I believe, printed on April 1, 1984. ;)

Then go and add it, we can all make additions to the calendar. That's why I'm telling everybody.

I didn't know we had any French members in here... or maybe you just want to commemorate 7/14/1995 - the day the MP3 format was named.

Well, we have at least one french member, but if he's still active... no idea. Then there's one parafrench guy who's actually canadian, but speaks french.

... and yes, you can add the MP3-thing, if you ask me. It's another thing that's maybe fun to know and quite interesting.

Just don't make any "XY dies"-entries. They're annoying enough in the current events section.

The ever polite and friendly vBulletin tells me that I don't have permission to access the New Event form.

That it does.

Oh heck, then let's do it differently. You just fill out this form and I and/or any other mod copypastes it over to the calendar.

Date:
Event (as in event-title):
Details on event:

Here's an example:

Date: 30th February 2000
Event (as in event-title): Jagabongo-Day on Genosha
Details on event: Jagabongo-Day marks the annual of the arrival of the mutant Zeitgeist on Genosha. He brought beer and bongs to the island thus supplying the country with drugs. After the Genoshans were all stoned out of their heads, the first Jagabongo-parade began as a spontanous exclamation of their collective high...

Good idea, I added an event on November 28 for the forum anniversary. The description started off as a simple overview of how the forums started, but as I was writing it, it turned into a full-blown history lesson about the forums. Oops.

I just edited the "Swiss national holiday"-entry. It is now more detailed and better structured. Go read it, people.

Are you referring(sp?) to me, young man? :D

On-topic: this calendar thing seems like a pretty cool idea, though. Learning about other countires' holidays sounds cool.

Ooo...this is a really nice idea. Me likes :D

Okay, how about we put an Aussie date in here? Why? Because I am suffering in history learning about my country, and that means you must suffer as well. However, I doubt it is of any high importance. *shrugs* Oh well.

Date: 26th of January, 1788
Event: Commonly known as "Australia Day". However, the Aboriginals, the original inhabitants of Australia, have come to know it as "Invasion Day".
Details on event: On the 26th of January, every one in Australia celebrates (or condemns) the anniversary of the landing of the First Fleet (the first set of ships carring the first offical European members of Australia) in Sydney Cove. Most see this as a day to celebrate the colinization of Australia. Others see this as a day of moaning, since this was the day that land was unrightfully taken from people who were already there.

Yeah...big day here. We get a day off everything and do whatever. I just do everything as per normal, only with streamers. *waves about a streamer*

Oh, and a trivial fact - Australia was united as a nation on the 1st of January, 1901. That was when the seperate colonies of New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmainia, and South Australia untied under one government.
