View Full Version : Lost Season is now 'Found', On Demand! *Spoilers*

That's right, the Ninja Tribunal Season is available through the new 4Kids On Demand. Along with the "Ninja Tribunal" episode we've seen, 2 others are currently available.

Some small *Spoilers* for now (more later, if would like):

"Lap of the Gods" -- the Turtles boat ride ends.... and their training begins! Like with the Mystics in "Good Genes", we get to see the Tribunals true forms here.

"Legend of the 5 Dragons" -- Splinter and The Ancient One tell the Turtles of the "original Shredder", as well as of the Tribunals' past.

4Kids On Demand is a section of the cable service 'On Demand' (where you can watch most shows/movies among it's listing for free, while some have fees -- like Pay-Per-View).

On the episodes (more *Spoilers*, of course):

"Lap of the Gods" is a nice start. With the Tribunal testing the Turtles and the human group (their new acolytes), with various ways (each ending less-then-expected to the Tribunal).

"Legend of the 5 Dragons" has Splinter and The Ancient One telling of the original Shredder (a giant Tengu!), and the fight between 5 great warriors and this Shredder. One of these warriors being Oroku Saki (yes - a real, human, Saki). Though the Tengu-Shredder was thought destroyed, his evil lived on (having gone into Saki -- who then became Shredder!).

Coool. Lucky bastard. :P I think it's only on Comcast right now. :(

"Legend of the 5 Dragons"

I like keeping my episode lists as correct as possible. So is it "Legend of the 5 Dragons" or "Legend of the Five Dragons"? :P

Yes, it's done as the number 5, not the word.

On Demand?! WTF?! I don't even have that option here! Er...at least I don't think so anyways....umm.. I think that costs extra :ohwell: *checks* Nope...but hey...due to sports FF airs at 3am Sundays only now....

Hopefully somebody will be nice and put these online. Otherwise I'll have to wait till June and July....my grandparents have On Demand....shell they have litterally a million channels (9900 to be exact).

Edit: Check it out!! The On Demand site has a sneak peak of one of the eps!! It's like the first 5 min! The turtles are given medalions and each of them has their special totum animal that'll become part of them. Leonardo's is a dragon!

http://www.p.comcast.net/m/p/com/mic/summercamp.asp

Just scroll down on the right and click on where it says Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Ninja Tribunal.

Unfortunatly it's not available for me because I don't have Digital Cable. And from my understanding that's a satelite dish...I live at an apartment...meh. :P

I can't wait to see these episodes! Thanks for the info!:)

I have Time Warner Digital Cable, and it's not on there in the kids on demand.:( Maybe it will be soon. I wish these episodes were online somewhere.

I called Time Warner and submited a request for 4Kids on demand. If anyone else does this, make sure you tell them it's the number "4" kids. Not "for" kids.

Im really curious as to what the spirit totums of the others end up being?

This is somewhat similar to the TMNT Anime series "Superman Legend" tho in that they gained the powers of creatures from myths. But in Superman Legend they gained the powers of the Greek myths (Leonardo's animal was the Lion, Donatello's was a bear, Mikey had the Spider, and Raph had the Phoenix).

These totum animals appear to be based more on the Chinese Zodiac.

Jon

The group get medallions in "Lap of the Gods", but haven't had anything of Totem Animals. So nice to hear of some upcoming stuff.

For On Demand -- still strange (that some don't have 4Kids on theirs). But, like said, it's a new thing to the service. So may be coming.

There are actually three episodes of the lost season on demand.
EP 104 - Lap of the Gods
EP 106 - Legend of the 5 Dragons
and

EP 107 - More Worlds than One

SPOILERS>>

In this episode the turtles and the other four warriors continue their training. They are led to pick up a second artifact, that if put together with the other two artifacts will lead to the ressurection of the original Shredder. The 3 artifacts are the Shredder's Helmet, his Gauntlet (the armor on his arm) and his body, which the Tribunal has.

END SPOILERS>>

It seems as if they skipped episode 105. Don't know why, but I'm hoping they put it up with the other eps.

104 - Ninja Tribunal (Season 4 Finale)
105 - Lap of the Gods
106 - Legend of the 5 Dragons
107 - More Worlds than One

Can't wait for this series! Looks like it's gonna blow FF out of the water in terms of story and quality (though I can see why 4Kids thought FF would be better for merchandise and getting new viewers).

So if I get this right - Oroku Saki was the 5th member of the Ninja Tribunal who fought against the "Tengu" Shredder. The Tribunal defeated Shredder but his evil essense passed to Saki.

What happened next? Was Saki in turn killed by the Utrom Shredder who then took both his name real and assumed names? And are the Mystics trying to revive the real Saki Shredder or the real Tengu Shredder?

Saki and the Tengu became one and were defeated by Saki's former team. Saki has nothing to do with the utrom shredder. The mystics want to revive the Saki/Tengu combo (who are one).

Thanks!

Sorry I didn't mean to imply the Saki/Tengu Shredder was related to the Utrom Shredder. I meant why did the Utrom take on the Shredder mantle and the human name Oroku Saki? Was there any interaction between the two or did the Utrom simply do it to inspire fear in the Tribunal? Or has that not come up yet?

i don't think it will be explained why the utrom specifically did what he did, but i'm pretty sure there was no interaction between him and the real Oroku Saki. ...and as far as the ninja tribunal is concerned they wanted nothing to do with the Utrom Shredder because they knew he was a fake.

A couple things here:

1. In legend of the 5 dragons, after hearing the story of the true Shredder, Donatello stated that Utrom Shredder took the identity of the Shredder to gain some respect

2. Its possible the episodes are numbered wrong, but at the beginning of the Legends episode, the mystics arrive on an island to collect the 1st artifact from some weird turtle creatures, but the creatures were beaten and one of them said to the mystics that the tribunal took the artifact. So either there is an episode that shows the tribunal and the turtles retrieving the 1st artifact or that was just put there to show the tribunal had taken it and the episodes are just numbered wrong

But, that's only my theory..

Someone was recently saying that they thought it was weird that they would do a season that isn't a full 26 eps long. While that is out of the ordinary, having that number reduced from 13 (exactly half) to 12 is too peculiar and suspicious to be believed.

This is how Lap of the Gods episode goes:

The turtles, Joy, Adam, Tora & Feragi are waiting on the boat to arrive to where ever it is they are going. Raph mentions how this stinks and that he doesn't trust the Tribunal. Leo and Raph argue about what to do, Raph wants to fight the Tribunal, while Leo wants to wait and see as they don't know much about them. The boat arrives in Japan, so the Tribunal tell their "acolytes" (the turtles, Joy, Adam, Tora & Feragi) that their path is long and difficult. The acolytes (carrying a bunch of luggage on their backs) climb up a mountain. Midway up, they wonder what the tribunal is doing, the Tribunal talk about the journey beginning, then use their powers to make the boat float up to the top of the mountain. Mikey jokes about it not being fair. The acolytes finally arrive at a temple on the top of the mountain. The acolytes enter.

Commercial Break

The Tribunal reveal the temple as what is called the Lap of the Gods, the tribunal monastery. The tribunal gathers the acolytes around a green pond, explaining what is happening. They tell them that this battle will be fought by physical and mystical means. Each member of the acolytes is then given a mystical amulet aiding them to harness their inner beings, their chi. Raph jokes about getting dog collars. The Tribunal reveal their true forms, each with a name and a mystical power. I don't know the spelling, but I will do the best I can. The teal blue one is Kahn Shi Sho, ninjitsu master of spirit. The blue one is Juto Shi Sho, ninjitsu master of weapons. The olive green female one is Chicara Shi Sho, ninjitsu master of strength. The yellow one is Hissomi Shi Sho, ninjitsu master of stealth.

The tribunal tell them that training begins now and Chicara summons a door revealing it to be a library. Donatello is the only excited one. Its a library for them to study for the coming danger. Leo asks Don about a book and Don explains it to him. He tells Leo about focus and energy and harnessing one's chi physically by concentrating, while doing this purple glowing tribal symbol cover Don's body while he's concentrating. It disappears and Leo and Don have no idea what it was, meanwhile Mikey has fallen asleep, drooling, while studying.

A training montage begins showing all 8 acolytes failing while being taught a specific lesson by each tribunal member. The tribunal questions them, thinking they are weak. Splinter than arrivesat the temple. The Tree Warriors of the Tribunal surround Splinter, but the Turtles then surround him to fight against the tree warriors. The Tribunal stops them and allows Splinter to stay but tell him it doesn't change anything. They question how Splinter found the monastery, then The Ancient One arrives waving at the tribunal. The Ancient One tries to get Splinter to reconsider, but the tribunal interrupts explaining that there is no time left. They show the acolytes that 5 heralds (the 5 foot mystics) are traveling to try and get three artifacts that will lead to the ritual of resurrection of their master. The tribunal says that two of the artifacts were stolen from their possession by the herald's servants. The tribunal explains that the 3rd artifact is still in their possession but don't explain what the artifacts are.

Splinter tells the tribunal that they can continue to guard the 3rd artifact without him and the turtles. Suddenly the monastery comes under attack by a mysterious force. The tribunal prepares to battle this attack, but each one of them is rendered helpless. The turtles, Joy, Adam, Tora & Feragi prepare to fight wondering what it is that is attacking. The roof of the monastery is destroyed revealing as Splinter calls, Hayashi Aki, a giant fire demon. Donatello concentrates and uses his harnessed chi to combat the demon. He tries to tell Leo what they must do but is taken out by the demon. The demon takes out everybody else, leaving only Leonardo & Feragi left to fight. Leo & Feragi attack but are knocked out. The fire demon tells them that it has ended before it has begun and leaves. Leo and Raph, knocked on the floor, talk about how this is how it ends and that they couldn't stop it because they weren't ready.

Suddenly Leo awakens, as well as the rest, realizing that it was all just a test by the tribunal. The tribunal explains to them about perception and reality, and that as soon as they realize this, they will then be ready to face the task at hand. Leo tells the others that it was their first real lesson and that there will be more to learn. END.

Did I miss how YouTube became more legal than torrents or P2P? Since the Aquaman Trailer was removed several times for copyright reasons (before they put the pilot on iTunes) I assumed it was no different to any other form of downloading.

I'm not against downloading the show (in fact when CITV decided to just keep repeating the first 1/2 of season 4 over and over I got the 2nd half season from torrents) and it certainly has its place (like Insane in the Membrane and catching an episode you missed, NOT downloading whole seasons though). Especially if you buy the DVDs afterwards.

In fact I must say even if these episodes do (and they probably will) end up on torrents or YouTube, etc. PLEASE still buy the DVD set. If you don't then 4Kids may not bring them to normal TV, and they almost certainly won't think there's any value in the pre-FF series - DVD sales of TLS are the only real way to show support for the old TMNT.

That said - point me to the downloads as these episodes will never reach the UK and it'll be a while before the DVD comes out to import!

Sure its not 100% legal as alot of unauthorized stuff end up on youtube, but at least, you can't download an entire movie wich is of high quality. What you have on youtube is low quality.

Anyway, youtube was never created in the intention of sharing illegal files like torrent sites, it was created to give a chance to everybody to create a little video clip of their own. Wich is 100% legal, as long as you don't use illegal files...

But indeed, if the episodes would end up on youtube, it would be illegal since no one ever agreed to let them be there... But its the most ''legal'' thing that we have and wich is free... Companies sure prefer youtube over torrents, even if its... not ''legal''.

And I'm sure that pretty much everybody here, even if they saw it on the web, are gonna buy the lost season on dvd. I sure am, just to be able to have what might be the last of the tmnt 2k3 era.

I don't understand what the big deal is. This is a Saturday morning cartoon that anyone who has a tv plugged in the wall can watch. I won't feel like I did anything wrong if I watch lost season episodes online. Just like I didn't feel bad when I watched Insane in the Membrane on You Tube. It could have been a free episode that anyone could see with a tv plugged in the wall.

I don't feel that anyone is as a loss of profit, if I watch a Saturday morning cartoon online. When I watch it on tv, I'm not paying for it. The electric bill is all you have to pay to watch TMNT on 4Kids.

I plan to buy the lost season on DVD, even if I see some or all of the episodes online.

Sliced
08-08-2006, 05:56 PM
I think the same way you do. Its indeed not such of a big deal, since its already free... on tv.

But, and there is 2 but here :
1- the companies who OWNS tmnt, never agreed to let the tmnt being freely presented on the web, on a site other than an official tmnt or TV site. To wich they surely gave their ok. So if an unauthorized site is using WHOLE episodes, and freely or even worse ask for a payment to see the episode, then, legally speaking, its illegal.

2- If not on tv or on an authorized site, the only other way to watch an episode, is actually on a dvd that the companies are producing and selling. Now, if someone buys a dvd, and puts it on the net, again on an unauthorized site, its also illegal. Same goes for a tape of the show, free or not.

So, all that to say that if the website, no matter what it is, never received the official ok from the companies who own the show, to actually show the whole episode, its illegal. But I think that companies are not bugged to see that a website is presenting a short preview. As long as its not the whole thing.

Toonami Tom
08-08-2006, 06:02 PM
I understand what you mean. Still though, I don't think it's wrong to watch TMNT episodes online.

Now here's a gray area: The stores sell blank tapes and DVDs that you can use to record shows on tv. I have been recording TMNT episodes that air on 4Kids. So when the DVDs with those episodes come out I won't buy them, because I have the episodes on my "home made" DVDs.

Sliced
08-08-2006, 06:20 PM
That is indeed a gray area. But as long as you don't put it online, or make ppl pay to see the episodes, this include making copies of your dvd. Its alright, once again legally speaking...

But again, companies are well aware of this, and they approved it. They said that it was ok. As long as you don't do anything illegal...

The only thing is, you don't have the official collection released by the companies. Its not a big deal, but alot of ppl are actually making dvds like you do, and then buy the dvd that the companies are releasing. Because they want to own the real deal, or they simply want to say ''thank you'' to the companies.

Well, I bought 2 of the official TMNT cartoon DVDs. As well as TMNT 1, 2, & 3 of the live action movies, and other TMNT stuff (action figures and video games). I understand what you mean though.

No. Leonardo's animal in the Anime was not a lion, but a dragon. Just like here in the lost season. :tgrin:

Hmm...why was I thinking it was a Lion? Meh... What did the others have? Raph was the Phoenix right?

Funny how Lost Season has similar things to Superman Legend. :P

Edit: Oh.. it was Donatello who was the lion in the Anime!

Raph was the Phoenix:

Don was the Lion (A lion with wings):

And Mike was a Beetle:

Rocksteady was a Snake and Bebop was a whale while Shredder was the Tiger.

Mod edit: Please don't hot link from Scary Crayon.

Hadn't been on for a while, and some of this has already been covered. But just wanted to note an interesting side-part to it.

During some of the 'story of Shredder', Splinter tells of his master Yoshi going to the Tribunal for help against Shredder (the Utrom), which they refuse to do. With the female member scoffing "The alien bug you call 'Shredder' is no concern to us".

I used to watch the episode and then DL it later. Now I just DL cause I don't feel like getting up to see Suck Forward.

The DVD set is was meant to be coming out early next year.

Of course that was back when Season 4 was still Vols. 3.8 and 3.9, and they were still working on the episodes.

Now the episodes are actually airing and the last 2 volumes of Season 4 have been combined into one set I wouldn't be surprised if we see the TLS DVD set out in time for Thanksgiving or X-Mas.

Yes, he does.

The original (Tengu) Shredder was a giant demon, with a monsterous appearance. Having an almost-skeletal face, and at least one of his arms could extend.

Oroku Saki in the armor was much like the Tribunal (with his armor being a dark blue).

The Real Oroku Saki looked just like the utrom Saki. The Shredder Armour was kinda the same except it was primary gray & black with red. His kneepads were the foot symbol. His helmet was the same as the Tribunal only it's grey/black with the sharp part being red. His voice was Scottie Ray.

I'm really curious as to what the spirit totums of the others end up being?
Probably dragons.
Oh god...now I'm a HYPER fangirl! *jumps around on a TMNT/dragon high*

Well, I don't know what Don, Raph, or Mikey's spirit animals will be, but if they are dragons, it will raise some interesting questions, especially for me. What type will they be? What powers will they have? Will these spirits inhance any of the turtles' strengths, or give them weaknesses? Will they be able to summon these spirits to do battle? Oh, the possibilites are endless. I mean, if the others figure out their spirits are also dragons, does that mean that they share the same characteristics as the spirit?

Forgive me, I've gone into a dragon rant.

I want everyone to notice something!

In the pictures Kenada posted, Saki's armor (we can't call him Shredder since he hadn't yet merged with the Tengu Shredder) has the upside down foot symbol. However, if you go down to the picture directly below that abc had posted, it's the way we're used to seeing... This obviously means that they were taken at two different times in the ep. Both before and after the evil consumes Saki. In the clip that comcast has up, it even shows the Tribunal member having the upside down symbol...

Those Kappa don't resemble kappa....they don't have funky hair filled with water, they look more like frogs with shells, and where are their cucumbers?Kappa means cucumber in Japanese. How did I never know that before? I thought "turtle-like demon" was its only definition (in Japanese).

Kappa by Keiko Matsui (http://www.jsdi.or.jp/~jun/Keiko-greetings.html):

An amphibious supernatural creature said to inhabit Japan's waters. Though to be a transformation of a water deity. The description and the name of the kappa vary from region to region. Generally, the kappa is believed to be about the size and shape of a 12 or 13-year-old child, with a face much like a tiger with a snout; its hair is bobbed, and a saucer -like description on top of the head contains water. When the supply of water diminishes, the kappa's supernatural power on land is impaired. The kappa's slippery body is covered with blue-green scales and emits a fishy odor. It has webbed feet and hands. Human beings can recognize the kappa by its ability to rotate arm and leg joints freely. In other variations, kappa have beaks and wings or resemble turtles or otters. Although in some areas kappa help with rice planting or irrigation, usually they pray on humans and animals. In particular the kappa delights in grabbing its victim and tearing out the liver through the anus. The kappa is also said to be fond of cucumbers and partial to sumo wrestling.

I guess those Kappa have been mutated too?

Do you think all the 13 episodes will take place in Japan or do you think they'll return to NY. I can't believe the entire season is a l13 episode-story-arc. What do you think?

Chris

I think they will.

It has been said since the beginning that this was a 13 episode story arc dealing with the Ninja Tribunal and the real Shredder.

If we see NY I think it will be at the end of the season when they return home (or maybe the real Shredder heads there once he gets brought back?).

I think that a 13 episode story arc is a little too much. I hope they will return to NY. It wouldn't be a surprise if Shredder heads there too. I'm hoping We'll see Karai battling this Shredder, realizing she was mourning for an imposter. What do you think? Maybe the first 6 or so episodes will be a 6-part story arc and after that they'll return to NY, but that doesn't mean the Ninja Tribunal story is over. Probably the last 2 episodes will end the Tribunal story for good.

It wouldn't surprise me. The last time we saw the Foot Mystics was in New York; maybe they won't have to travel across the world to resurrect him. Besides, it wasn't like it took the TMNT ages to travel to the Japan this time thanks to the Ninja Tribunal, so the journey home probably wouldn't take any longer.

Every one has been waiting for the lost season to give us conclusion to the whole series, that's why i think it's strange it it would turn out to be a 13-episode story arch. This might be the last real season and we need to see characters like Karai, Bishop and Baxter.

I still think it will be one long arc. It's what they've always said it will be.

Think about it like this - in Season 4 the last we saw Hun he was getting back to working with Karai and the Foot. Bishop (and Baxter) were betrayed by the Mystics and wanted revenge, that puts them in line to be involved with this story arc. Karai wants to regain control of the mystics, that puts her (and Hun) also in line to take part in this arc. That's why it's such a long arc.

Of course I could be wrong which means a smaller arc (which spoilers so far don't hint at) or no conclusion for certain characters!

I'm not sure if they'll use Worms of Madness to methods to bring him back (spoilers so far hint more at artefacts and magic rather than worms), but I have no doubt the idea for this story arc first came from the idea to adapt Worms of Madness for the cartoon.

What's Raph's power? Besides uh turning into a fan? :lol:This is supposed to be like the Ultimate Turtle scrolls in the Mutant Nightmare videogame. But, the chi-channeling method they're using in the show, just enhances the abilities they already have. I have no idea about those attacks they do though.

LOL. I'm sorry. I actually have read Worms of madness and I do like it, just to make that clear :) I just want to see the Turtles battling Shredder, not a Shredder/Shark/worm creature. It did work well in the comic true. I guess I am just a sucker for his armor :)

to be honest thats the thing I'm sick of I just am so over shredder or anyone that looks like him..I hate that the tribunal all look like him...I like it better when they dont have their armor on.....cause then they all look differnt.
I'm over Shredder for the next 10 years to be honest lol.
What I was saying before though about Worms of Madness is that they could loosely base it off of that story and take things from it that they need...as much as i liked the big Armaggon look alike I'd much rather see some sort of zombie Saki come back from the dead because well that would just be way cooler lol.

4Kids On Demand is a section of the cable service 'On Demand' (where you can watch most shows/movies among it's listing for free, while some have fees -- like Pay-Per-View).

:-? One Question from ME, here: Is this ON the 4Kids website? Or where?:-?

Cheese, but I'm most DEFINITELY confuzzled now....................:-?:-? :-?

Now, THESE, I like. Thankies for these spoiler, Jon.

As mentioned in my original post, my On Demand had previously had just 2 new episodes for this Lost Season (along with "Ninja Tribunal" that was aired on 4Kids).
Now they've gotten to adding another, the ep. "More Worlds Than One" that others have mentioned. So have now seen this episode too.

Okay. *Spoiler Time*

"More Worlds Than One" mainly has the Acolytes being trained. In tests of their inner power -- first against animated rock-men, then in a run, and then to manifest their totem spirits. After this, they are sent to get the second artifact (Shredder's gauntlet), accompanied by 2 of the Tribunal. They come under attack by Nesume (spelling?) Tengu, after some fighting Leo manifests his totem spirit again, destroying most of the Tengu (just with the spirit's illumination). But one remains (in the form of an ordinary rat), reporting to the Mystics.

Oh my f*cking god!!!! This beginning to the new season was far superior to the beginning of Fast Forward! That's not to say that the first ep of Fast Forward wasn't good, but this one just stomped its guts out and made mince-meat out of the remains. I just got done watching Lap of the Gods and I can tell you that it's amazing. The animation is fluid and the way they do some of the things to the turtles when the Fire demon attacks was amazing.

If nothing else, I will be at Wal-Mart at midnight the night this comes out so that I can grab it. There seriously was no better show than what I just watched.

Are the Foot Mystics still in that 'temple' room at Foot headquarters or have do they have their own base of operations now?

Currently the Mystics are mobile (using a large boat as their 'base of operations'). Travelling around trying to "bring back the true Shredder".

I doubt it happens again. This was sorta like their summer fling. They decided to show some unaired eps, and it might have paid off. I think it wholly depends on 4Kids and their contract with Comcast to determine if we'll see anymore. However, I say we won't, especially if they can't show them in order.

Nah. I doubt that. As, not only does the 4Kids section of On Demand have TMNT, but a bunch of other shows that have aired on 4Kids (as well as some eps. from Yu-Gi-Oh, that is going to be on 4Kids -- at least in part, with the Capsule Monsters storyline this Fall).

There won't be no more ne episodes, i think it was Raph's Girl who posted a link with a schedule of what would be on this month and next month and these were the only Lost Season episodes on the list, next month it'll be these along with 'Future Shellshock' and 'Garbageman'.

BTW... Demons and Dragons is set between "Lap of the Gods" and "Legend of the 5 Dragons"... I believe this ep introduces the new weopons that Mike, Don, and Raph suddenly have that respond to their voices. It's also the one where they fight and defeat the Kappa demons.

And incidently... I looked at the recent schedule on the site....they're gonna be airing Fast Forward eps too On Demand as well as "Garbageman" for some odd reason... Frak that...Im still waiting for "Demons and Dragons"!

Also in October they'll be airing an ep called "Headlock Prime" but I have no idea if that's a FF or Lost Season ep. :ohwell:

Having only seen one of the previews for the "Lost Season"...I have to say I'm glad it's lost.

Nobody else is bothered/annoyed by the "Power Rangers"/"Dragonball Z" superchi Turtles? The concept just strikes me as pathetic. "We can't beat him like this! Summon the megazord!" becomes "We can't beat him! Power up!" or whatever. I guess if they don't devote 15 minutes per episode to just the Turtles summoning their chi it'll be better than any of the DBZ fights I ever saw...

Now granted, this opinion has been formed after watching roughly 30 seconds of an episode and looking at a few screencaps people have made. If/when I get the chance to watch an entire episode, I certainly will to give things a chance.

At the moment, though, if given the choice between "Lost Season", "Fast Forward", and nothing, I'll take nothing... :ohwell:

Well---

1st) The 'power up' is part of the plot (to combat mystical creatures).
2nd) The Lost Season has been really good (so far, along with "Ninja Tribunal" that got a regular airing, have seen 3 episodes of it).

Altho admitadly some of it IS somewhat similar to the TMNT anime OAV, Superman Legend (where they DID go Power Ranger and have a zord er I mean Saint Turtle)...really the only similarity is that the turtles gain the powers of other animals.

Like in Superman Legend Leonardo gained the power of the dragon.

However, they will NOT be in power ranger-ish uniforms... eventually they will learn to merge and litterally become their avatars. Like Leonardo will transform from turtle to way cool dragon.

No uniforms, just stupid random tatoos everywhere and weird-looking weapons. (Don's giant-sized Q-tip, for example, if the bonus art unlockable in "Mutant Nightmare" is any indication.)

And yay. They each get their own unique Frieza morph. :ohwell: Or perhaps it'd be better to liken this more to the "Animality" moves from whichever "Mortal Kombat" game introduced the concept. (I thought it was lame there, too, just so you know.) This season's sounding better and better...

Alouicious, don't be too quick to jump to conclusions, and pass final judgement before you see more than just 30 sec clips, and screen captures. Give it a fair chance.

I love the lost season from the three episodes I have been extremely fortunate to see. I have never been this excited over a storyline. I think the plot is quite interesting. They're fighting mystical/tengu/demon creatures. It's not possible to defeat them on a physical realm. The only way to fight such beings is becoming mystical themselves.

The way they channel their Chi to become their Mystic forms doesn't bother me. It's simply transferring their inner strength and abilities to a physical level. Hasn't Master Splinter referenced that every now and then anyway? The Mystic form is a magic enhancement, and the abilities become superhuman.

Honestly, this could have been done much worse, but it wasn't. Think about that.

Oh, I plan on giving it a fair chance when I actually have the opportunity to see an episode. I'm just saying that at the moment, my impression of the season everybody's raving about is about as negative as everyone's impression of "Fast Forward" was before it started. My opinion might be revised upward, or downward, or stay where it is once I see full eps.

O'Connell: Didn't you hear that guy? He said mortal weapons can't kill it!
Eve: Then I guess we'll just have to find some *immortal* weapons, now won't we?

(Sorry, couldn't resist throwing the "Mummy" quotation in there. :D )

In all honesty, I think I would have preferred the Ninja Tribunal just passing out some mystical weaponry. What I've seen reminds me way too much of those atrocious "Ninja Turtles" anime cartoons from way back when... :dead:

Hey! That's my argument in defense of Fast Forward! You know plagiarism isn't nice! :x
Seriously, everyone, don't bother trying to change his mind. He makes valid points. The theme of needing to power up is a bit more childishly trendy than what we've previously seen in 2K3 in as much as it's clicheed. It's one of the main reasonable reasons people still claim to loathe FF. Having given FF an objective criticism after I saw it rather than insisting it would suck to high heavens months before anyone ever saw it, I have to say that I don't care to argue the point that "you can't judge a book by its cover" anymore. FF found its audience, and that's all I was after. I'll just grin and bear it like any mature person who is faced with petty annoyances.
But, as far as my impression of The Lost Season, I think it's was good. In accordance with my personal tastes, it's much better than FF. But, you guys (and gals) have let your anticipation paint reality again. As compared to previous episodes of 2K3, The Lost Season is really nothing to get so excited about. Sure, it's new 2K3, but it's not really any better than what we've already seen. So, by trying to convince anyone to adopt your heightened excitement, you could be causing him to have unrealistic expectations. That way, when he finally does see it, he'll think, "I've been tricked! This is nothing special", rather than, "Oh, hey. This is better than I expected". So, if no one can offer him a way to see a full episode, let him stay sour on the idea. This way, he can only be pleasantly surprised. ;) That's the benefit of having low expectations.

Please make no mistake. I'm not at all happy that 2K3 is over or that Fast Forward is the continuation. But, vicious badmouthing of the replacement would only serve to squelch its potential audience and get marketers to believe that TMNT isn't a brand worth endorsing because they hardly pay attention to details like different versions of the story.
I know you're a fan of Power Rangers, which I've had a low opinion of since it first showed up. But, I won't belittle it because it found its audience. As long as it entertains people, it is not without value. But, no one is forcing me to watch it. So, it doesn't bother me. I just prefer to catch flies with honey than vinegar.
and before you say it, seasons four and three were'nt the same as what had come before in the first two seasons, the series was ever evolving
I fully agree. Like any great series, it has grown. Unlike short-lived series that deteriorated towards the end, it didn't grow too fast. Unfortunately, the powers-that-be thought it didn't grow in the right direction to make it fit in with its neighbors. Indeed, this is unfortunate for those of us who grew to love the show for what it had become. I believe everyone here would have wanted it to continue on its chosen path, but that's not our decision to make. After getting all of 2K3 on DVD though, the movie and the classic series will be the only other TMNT DVDs I'll spend my money on in the foreseeable future. Anyone else care to boycott FF? I'll watch it on TV just in case it ever gets interesting, but I won't pay extra for it. I've been told that action speaks louder than words, so...

Aye.. in this series there's been 4 Shredder's

In the 4th century there was:
Demon Shredder (a really big bad giant Aku wannabe)
Oroku Saki (who was possessed by the spirit of the Aku wannabe)

Then from the 11th to the 21st century we had:
Churell (who only emulated the previous 2)
Karai (Who only became Shredder to revenge Daddy Churell)

Now...Im curious as to how old Ancient One really is....Now he seemed to indicate that he was an accolyte of the Ninja Tribunal...so...are we gonna find out what HE can transform into?

Well,I saw Laps of the Gods just now. Pretty nifty episode, curious how it will go on. But something is bothering me. No, not the chi and animal spirits stuff. Does anybody else find the human characters as boring as I do? Why are they even there? They have almost no dialog that would give them some depth and don't seem to have real personalities apart from cliches.

Tora = Samurai
Adam = friendly giant/monk
Feragi = Warrior
Joy = quota woman fighter

I mean, the turtles have reasons to fight, they fought Utrom!Shredder and the Mystic Ninjas. What kind of connnection do these humans have to all this? I sure hope this will be explained at some point.

I don't plan on getting to attached to any of them.

After reading the synopsis for one of the Lost Season episodes, it sounds like the 4 of them my go down in battle or something.

So they are just cannon fodder? Why? To make the TMNT all upset about them dieing, but not actually having to kill off any interesting characters? Bah, that's stupid.

Hey, i don't put it past them. They said before this arc was gonna be intense, and I consider character deaths pretty intense.

I rather have character deaths that actually mean something. The way these four are now, nobody cares if they live or die. Heck, looking at the summaries of the new episodes, they're never even mentioned by name, just as "company" or not at all. If they don't explain why these four were choosen together with the turtles to be accolytes, that would mean they just brought them in to kill them off. And that would be cheap. "Look, how intense we are, we let characters die. Except no one will care if they do, we're not not that intense."

It's not like that, I don't consider any of the other female characters on the show quotas, no matter how little their roles are. I don't mind the female Ninja master at all, I even like that she is the master of stregth, whereas the muscle guy is stealth not the other way around. But, you know, these characters actually have some kind of personality.

So, what else is Joy except the token female? She could be completely written out of Lap of the Gods since she doesn't interact with the turtles or her team mates at all. Heck, whereas the males at least say something, she doesn't say a single word! Unless you count 'oh' and 'ah' as words. This way it seems they just included a female fighter because otherwise there would be none on the good guys side (I woldn't count the tribunal as good guys) since there is no April around.

well I mean really it's not like they're given much time to develop these new characters now...so they might as well just kill them right...:ohwell:

I'm not gonna say I know for a fact they're gonna die, all I'm saying is something may happen to them. Maybe they'll die, or maybe they'll turn out to be working for the Foot Mystics, or maybe they're just turn out to be illusions or something, created by the tribunal to challenge the turtles and build them up

Even after looking up quota, I still don't see how that fits the rest of the term. If this is a way of saying prize-fighter, I'll buy that. When I saw her for the first time, the resemblance to Super Street Fighter II's Cammy just pounced on me. Although, she was the one to recognize the surroundings as Japan at the end of "The Ninja Tribunal". So, looks are probably deceiving in this case. :ohwell:

All those other possibilities you suggested don't add up. If they die, that would be lame and unnecessary. If they were working for the Mystics, Adam's little crush on Chikara would get in the way of him finishing the job. And, unable to afford the luxury of a sense of humor, The Ninja Tribunal wouldn't have created an illusion that fancies Chikara. That would be too silly for them to even think up. I realize those examples were just that and not supposed to be taken seriously, but... :D

All I'm saying is, all that could have been fabricated, by either the Mystics or the Tribunal to make them seem more believeable. These 4 just show up out of nowhere, no kind of background info on them, somethings up. I don't think they're really what they seem.

I just checked out OnDemand. The episode labelled "Garbageman" is actually "Beginning of the End" from the Lost Season. It's definitely one of the more intense episodes so far.

...and I'd hate to say it but
In this episode, Feragi, Joy, Adam, Tora and the Ninja Tribunal all die at the hands of the Mystics.

After seeing this, I checked my On Demand and it had the episode too (listed as "Garbageman", as well). And boy, was this an episode!

Though I'm taping them from On Demand to have for now, be glad when the DVD comes.

According to SelectOnDemand.com (http://www.selectondemand.com/schedule/4kids.html), "Demons and Dragons" should be playing this month. Anyone seen it yet?

Nope, hasn't come on mine yet. Just the previous episodes mentioned in this thread, the Fast Forward ep. "Obsolete" (mis-listed as "Future Shellshock") and this latest Lost Season episode (mis-listed as "Garbageman").

Still no news on the release, I'm afraid. But I'm also looking forward to having the eps. on DVD!

They have been great, too.

Though not concrete, there has been mention of it being a 2-disc release like Season 4.

I hope so, it made things simpler then past TMNT DVDs with this new series. Plus it so darn hard finding them in stores. Not to mention expensive. I mean 12.99 for 4 episodes and 12.99 for 14. What a steal.

I gotta agree with u snake king, Actualy he prob ain't a ninja at all since the ninja tribinal made ninjutsu after they defeated the original shredder.
