View Full Version : How long would Shredder stay?

I hope I'm not repeating anything that was brought up in any other threads, but I just realized that if Shredder was to be killed off early on in the new series(if the episodes were to be based off the Mirage storyline), they'd have to change the new themesong :P
Playing a theme containing "watch out for Shredder!" would seem weird for the later seasons where Shred'd be long gone, and I doubt they'd change the theme that early, so it seems as if he'd be a "permanent" character. However, keeping him in as the main nemesis might overshadow any other aspects of the TMNT universe if storylines based on the comics were to be introduced. Any thoughts?

Yet the theme wasn't changed for that....

I don't think they will "Kill" Shredder directly, But it says they will defeat him. And it is based on Mirage, it's not a coversion. The rules are set by Mirgae universe, But story lines differ somewhat IE. The Shredder comes into picture pretty late, and There will be a Return to New York arc at the end of the season.

i think they will make it look like he dies at some point, but have him come back again later like for the return to new York part.

I've written to Dan Berger about this. Here's what he
had to say:
" My reason for writing this letter is for a piece of information: Are the
> Shredder & the TMNT going to fight a "forever war" like they did
> in the old toon?
If you mean will Shredder be the permanent villain, we don't know yet.
Saki will be the main villain in season one, but if the series is a success,
Shredder may not remain as the main threat for the entire run of the show
(is quite unlikely that he will - but we'll need to get more than one season
produced before any significant change is made).
Thanks for writing!
Cheers!

Well after Shredder lost his head the American and the Japanese Foot had a "civil war" of sorts and the TMNT got involved. Baxter also returned. But they never introduced a new main villian.
