Ever wonder what the opposite sex is thinking?
Girl: Do I look fat in this?
Guy: huh? *panic!!!!*
Girl really might mean "Do you still find me attractive?"
Girl: I was beginning to wonder if you still loved me, you haven't been around much.
Guy: I dunno...maybe we should stop seeing each other
Girl: what? why?? *OMG he has another girlfriend somewhere*
Guy actually might mean "I can see I'm not making you happy...you deserve to be happy, even if it's not with me
Before you panic and say or do something you might regret....ask for an interpretation!!! Can't hurt :D

Theoretically, eunuchs and hermaphrodites work best.

See, I never have this problem. I make it known right from the get-go that I don't like anything being hidden from me, be it thoughts or feelings of any nature. If she's going to think something that should be said, she better say it or don't bother with the attempt in trying to get me to pry it out of her skull.

Do girls actually give a damn about guys who are sensitive and caring in this world, or do they just look at the guy's appearance and not think past that initially?
Yeah, it sucks being the quiet gamer guy.
It depends if the girl is shallow or not, I guess. I mean, one would go out for a one-night stand on apparence just so then they can live out their fantesy of sleeping with a guy who has the chizzled looks of a Greek god, while other people wouldn't really give a damn about apperances and just want to get to know the guy better. Others want both looks and sensitivity.
To be blunt, girls are very demanding

for me, Looks don't mean a damn thing. I had a relationship once when i was younger with the "Ken Doll" type. I was dazzled and amazed that a guy like him would choose to be ith me....but turned out he was also dating 7 other girls or something like that. Boy was that a slap in the face. My self esteem dropped to zero. why wasn't I good enough? That taught me to look deeper in someone.
But know what? I AM good enough! My ideal man is someone who really loves me how I am and treats me like the most important and cherished woman there ever was. I could care less what he looks like.

I hate the 'Ken doll' look. I think Brad Pitt is ugly. It's not for me.
I was going to say that looks don't matter to me, but let's be honest... Everyone has preferences. Looks may not have as BIG an effect, but there are always preferences.
They matter little to me, aside from the fact that I prefer... *ahem*...
Not too buff. I like a little tummy.
GLASSES, GLASSES, GLASSES!! (hehe)
Moustaches are quite nice, as are beards.
Iiiiiiii pretty much love a geeky look. Studious, kind. Hehe.
Personality is most important to me, actually. Their hearts, their minds...
All that good stuff. :)
I would give you ladies my number but...:P
Yeah, I have my preferences, too, but it all goes down to the person inside. If I like being with you, that's all it takes. The rest will fall into place.:)

heheh I like a guy to be "fluffy" too, JD. nothing is more of a turn off to me than skinny muscley guys...ewwww.
Luckily, I found someone who fits my ideal pretty well :D
Now, one of my girlfriends....she's going through it and for the life of me I can't read this guy and what he's thinking....maybe you guys can help me.
When they are together, everything seems to be good (mind you I am looking at them from the outside and mainly going on what she tells me) he is loving and attentive to the point that if you are a diabetic, you should stay away. But she also tells me that sometimes he suggests she is better off with someone else...then will go missing for a few days claiming to be busy. He always comes back to her (they live pretty close to one another in the town I grew up in and are planning to get married. I think this may just be pre-wedding jitters) She broke up with him a couple times, he got really upset and spent HOURS at my apartment begging me to get her to take him back.
I dunno....Low self esteem or something else? I can't decide. She asked me what I think and i honestly can't tell.

No one loves heavy drinkers and chain smokers.
I'm half convinced that I will probably never find someone. People love to tell me otherwise, but it's so easy for them to say that because they've had luck in the world of love. Believe me, I've tried many times, and it's been a mixed bag of failure. I've asked out lesbians when I didn't even know, I've been told she doesn't want to ruin our friendship, I've been laughed at by girls, and the list goes on. Patience? I've kinda run out of it.
Video games never cheat on you, and neither does your hand.

When I'm really drunk I dance with my friends' girlfriends. That's pretty much all I've been getting lately.
I dunno....Low self esteem or something else?
He's a drama king. That should be self-explanatory. He insists on believing he is literally too good to be true and rejects himself for it. That's my guess. I used to have something like that.

Yeah, gobo, he is definitely that. My friend is dead set on him, though. she even got herself pregnant by him to make him "have" to stay. She's a drama queen too, so I guess they go together well in the end.

I've been thinking about this and I think I'd like the guys to answer up onthis in regards to the women they prefer.
When I was dating I had a hard time not being seen as the friend girl because I like "guy" things...I'm short and dark haired...smart...and not a supermodel thin girl. And when I stumbled back into the dating world again a couple years ago, things were worse. I used to sit for hours alone while guys drooled over size zero blonde airhead girls whose boobs were bigger than their brains.
so, guys...Is there hope for all the regular girls out there? Or do you all continually look for the model?

Oh, geez... Don't let her guilt him into staying. That's how to turn a good thing bad. He'll lose respect for her that way. Now that cause for him to stay exists, let him decide on his own to stay. If he has a conscience, he will make the noble decision and gain more respect for her.

Too many are all talk and no sincerity. A bad habit I had and I assume many guys have had is putting all women on a pedestal. That makes special treatment no longer all that special. But, most women are in fact human. All humans would like to have a physically attractive mate whether they admit it or not. Some form a grudge against pretty people. Some want nothing other than pretty people. Some just think that it isn't worth the effort. But, appearance is the initial attraction in any case whether we're talking fashion, behavior, features, etc. Unfortunately, I haven't found the women that recognize the good guys without them pointing themselves out (though we we'd rather stay modest), but I'm fairly certain I keep looking in the wrong places. :ohwell:
CONCERNED GIRL: Don't worry. You'll find her someday.
GOOD GUY: Might it be you?
CONCERNED GIRL: (in horror) Uh... You wouldn't like me! I promise!!
~ How that's her decision to make is beyond me, but I've had similar conversations too often.

Models need love too! :x All humans would like to have a physically attractive mate whether they admit it or not. I realize looks aren't everything, but I think most guys would like to have a girlfriend who is a knockout at least once in their life no matter how unlikely it may be. If given a guarantee of a swimwear model who is a royal biznitch or a sweet-heart with a good head on her not-so-pretty shoulders, I'd definately take the latter because I'd be set for life with the last woman I'd ever want to date. But, I'm guaranteed neither. After I've had a looker in my life at least once, I'll probably care less for pretty ladies in the future. But, to be fair, I should be allowed to make my own mistake, just like you did. Also, there is such a thing as being too pretty. Sometimes, it makes a lady too much to look after. More than likely, it won't happen anyway. So, for $60 a month, eHarmony better be worth it! :P
P.S. - Big boobs are gaudy. No offense to well-endowed sweet-hearts, but they intimidate me.

Go ask Stormy and see what she thinks. :)
I like "regular" girls. Quite frankly, I find them to be the most interesting of the entire species.
From my standpoint, I think models are overrated. Their general appearance is as if Olive Oyl hit Prada. I, for one, do not find it an enticing concept to make love to a mic stand.

With or without the mic? :P

Hear hear! Growing up my friends (or whatever they were... the people who TALKED to me) were practically ALL guys. Makes it hard to get a guy that way.

Ha! ;) :P
The girl who I was in love with and I recently broke up. Actually, it was just over a month ago. She had moved back to Texas after college let out and I stayed behind after getting a great full time job here. She had planned to come back here after she fulfilled some obligations at home, but the distance definitely took a huge toll on our relationship and we ended up breaking up. Hmm..I guess I always thought being in love was enough to make a relationship work but I was wrong. I guess I'm just wondering what more she needed to have made it work if love wasn't enough? Because love was more than enough for me.

I think long distance relationships take a special kind of strength to pull off. I oughta know...I'm in one. I wouldn't trade my guy for anyone else in the world...but that doesn't mean that we don't have our ups and downs like any other couple.
Sometimes girls get paranoid. I freely admit it. I've had alot of heartache in my life and I can't help but have that in the back of my mind sometimes. after all, if I think he's so great, what stops some other girl from thinking that too? And after all, I'm not there for him to see me every day. Sometimes I shoot myself in the foot that way. I'm not an unusual girl in those thoughts, either.
For some girls, it just gets to be too much. They see couples all around...Especially in college..sometimes it's too much.
The thing about relationships...especially long distance ones...is that they take some work...you can't just assume the other person knows you love them and let things coast. Sometimes you say more in your actions than in your words.
Nothings ever easy though *sigh* wish I could make it better for you.

It's personality that's most important to me. Looks are good too, but they come secondary. What I see when I look past the exterior to deep within the person is what really grabs my attention. I want to know your thoughts, feelings, your interests. I try to draw out each side of you in any given situation. I accept a person for who they are, the good and the bad.
With or without the mic? :P
A hand joke coming from a gamer? Oh, too-shay.

Wise choice. Looks are a bonus. But, how does one define personality? Some would say that it is only that part of a person's character which they have control over (i.e., interests, goals, values, etc.), but many dictionaries generalize it enough to include things like behavior and expression. If using the dictionary definition, I fully agree. If given a choice between Miss America, Miss Universe, or the average girl who has a distinguishable personality, I'd have to go with C. ... Er, let me take that back. I'd want to go with C. ;) But, here's a tip for the ladies: nothing is more attractive than a smile and a friendly demeanor. Guys are just as timid as you; especially the nice guys. That's why they finish last so often. :ohwell:

I completely agree, it aint easy, im in a long distance relationship as well, its very hard walking down streets or in malls seeing other couples close, but looking to the future is the key, when you can turn that long distance relationship, into a siamese relationship. Inseperable, right next to eachother. Strength and trust is the key.

Here's MY question for a guy...
So, for my birthday... My one friend (a guy) got me... a phone charger for my car. Well... I mean, I mention a few months ago that my new phone hadn't come with one...
Personally, I'm shocked he remembered that. Usually I get a gift certificate. Which is nice, too, mind you. I'm happy it's something I can use. :)
So, my question is... what's the meaning of buying a practical gift like that? If there is one, heh.
I'm happy with it. :)
So, my question is... what's the meaning of buying a practical gift like that?
Awesome. He cares about you enough to remember the little things. But, as to why he didn't get you something more pretty and less practical, there could be several reasons. He probably didn't think you'd like the impractical stuff. Not knowing squat about this guy other than his thoughtfulness, I think that he would probably appreciate knowing that your interested. Be especially receptive to him for a while (at least a month since he sounds like the slow-to-warm-up type), even in groups (yes, in front of other people), and see if he returns your attention. I think you can figure out where to go from there ;) Good luck (though I'm sure you don't need it)!
He bought it for you because he knows you have a boyfriend which he assumes is supposed to get you those extravagant things. If I was in his position, I would do the same thing.
Katie

wait.....Boyfriends should buy extravagant things for their girlfriend's birthday.... :-? Crap...I've been missing out :P j/k I hate people making big deals out of my birthday. I'd much rather have a quiet dinner at home and curl up on the couch to watch a movie :)

I seriously have no idea on how the whole girlfriend thing works. Maybe I'm just not trying hard enough to get a girlfriend. *Shrugs shoulders* Oh well, I guess being single isn't too bad. I would like to have a girlfreind though. I'm probably not in any situations where I would meet one. I guess....

I wouldn't worry. Things happen when they happen :D I will say that if you become a regular somewhere...anywhere that you like...you will probably have good luck finding someone to date. when I was in high school I used to hang out at Books a Million to try and find guys. My only two serious boyfriends (before Mr. Current :tlove: ) came from work and school respectively.
I learned an interesting little factoid today......In a relationship, the average length of time that it takes a girl to decide to make a commitment is 6 months. for a guy, it's 18 months. (Guess they gotta be really sure :P )
