I've been wanting for a while now to own a weapon of my favorite turtle, as a collector's piece. I didn't think I'd ever get to because I'd never been able to find one that really grabbed me to say "That's the one!", and also I never thought I'd be able to afford it.

Well, fortune finally smiled on me, and I found one I absolutely loved. I ordered this little gem on Amazon. It was an absolute steal. I am so excited.

Well, look at that -- blue handle and everything. Very nice.

I understand that you bought the sword as a collector's peice, however, this is a good peice of advice for everyone who is looking into getting a sword in general.

Wise men say,
Never swing a $50 sword.

...However, I do own a $30 sword that is actually quite sturdy. It's not fancy or anything, but it's got a full tang.

This (http://budk.com/product.asp?pn=BK277) is the sword I bought from a local shop, so I knew what I was getting when I did. Generally, I would recommend buying local, (but that's often at a cost for price) but I think you'd be alright with that one.
(Side note, the straight and shorter blade and longer handle are actually more authentic than you might think. This is a ninja sword, as opposed to a Samurai Katana. The difference?

Samurai Sword: Their soul. One sword for life, quality made, folded steel.
Ninja Sword: Best friend in combat, but cheaply made, disposable, with hidden compartments and such.

The sword I linked to is actually likely to be of better quality than what assassins of yore would have been accustomed to. (Minus the hidden compartments, this sword has none.)

That's a pretty nice looking sword though.
Enjoy it! ;-)

Edit:
(My sword has a really crappy sheath though, it's not much for aesthetics...)

Yeah I seen those. They are cheap made, only good for the wall. If you get one, do not "play" with it. They are not built like the real thing and they are sharp. I own a pair of $30 sai, I don't go playing with them, they're not meant for contact...pot metal breaks.
