i have the very first #1 issue of the archie comics - but i have no idea if it is the slightest bit rare...help? (heres a picture, except mine isnt collectors edition, just found the pic on the TMNT website)

And I'm no expert, but I wouldn't imagine it being worth any more than $5 or so. I've seen it numerous times at my local comic book shop...It's an interesting piece, but by the time they began printing the Archie comics, the Turtles were already a huge deal -- so they printed up a lot of copies.

yeah, i figured it wasnt rare...i just thgought it was cause it was #1 of the series, maybe someday it will be

Still, even though it won't make you a millionaire, having the first issue of anything is still pretty cool. Of course, that's how addictions start...Having #1 is a great starting point for a collection. Just don't let it get out of hand. :lol:

haha, dont worry, i start collecting for a while, but i only got about 30 issues of the archie series, then got bored of searching

Which #1 do you got? There's the #1 for the whole series and the #1 fot the 3 issue mini series. I have both just asking.

I believe he has the #1 for the whole series. I managed to track down all three issues of the mini series a while back. Wasn't it released even before TMNT Adventures #1?

yeh not many in the whole archie series are really rare. So i don't think theres any worth over 5 bucks. There are a few rare's though, but their worth price hasnt gone up, and those would be some of the later issues after the 'Black Hole Trilogy' cause i've only been able to find 10 issues between #51 and #72.
But as for your #1, if its from the 'Mini-Series'(will say on front cover) then it's probably a little more rare than #1 of the regular series.

The original Mini-series
The ongoing series
The Final Mini-series.
As Archie offered orders on backissues in their books, a lot of people have the Ongoing TMNTA #1.
The Mini series is much harder to find, but it was reprinted as a single volume by another publisher (Antarctic Press? Something like that).
The Final Mini didn't command a lot of respect and is only sought after by people looking to complete the series.

Good deal..bet it probably wasnt in that great of condition..thoses bins in general usually have some pretty good books but condition can be a bit of problem...

Not the greatest condition (they weren't bagged and boarded or anything), but they weren't falling apart at the staples, much to my luck. Found a bunch of other Archie TMNT comics in that bin, too. They were also giving them away on "Free Comic Book Day" along with a bunch of "kid's comics", like some weird Barbie comics from the 80's and I think a few Micronauts issues.

I wouldn't say those issues are exactly rare but some can be bit harder to find. That "rarity" though, doesnt affect price and if you can find them, you can still get them dirt cheap so don't get too excited...:)
And yea, Mirage volume 1 #1 is the rarest of all the comics (i've seen them sell b/w $500-$2000- depending on condition). #2, #3, and #4 are also relatively valuable, commanding on average b/w $75-$25 (earlier issues more pricey, esp. if in great condition)...after that...they're all basically cover price...

Yea, I guess that wouldn't hurt...but I wouldnt hold on it in hopes of these comics increasing greatly in value...if thats what you're looking for, you're probably better off with another comic series...if, however, you'd like to hold on to them cuz you actually like the book, then by all means go for it...:)

I managed to get the first two issues of the mini-series from Mile High three years ago. I haven't been as compelled to get #3 since the DVDs were released.

pretty sure i got the #1 of the whole series - here i yook some pics of it with my camera so you can see what mine actually looks like
theres the front cover, and it doesnt say anywhere that its #1 of a mini series, so im guessing it #1 of the whole series

HEH! I got quite a few Archie TMNT comics from the quarter bin. Then again, I got all the TMNT Mirage comics I own from there too.
Now, how much do you think the comic books and tapes (Random House release) are worth, if they are unopend?
