Yeah. Since we've adopted Brittish police (bobbies), I would have expected America to have a Prime Minister. Actually, shouldn't they have reunited Pangea to enhance global unity? Seperate governments should be "Obsolete" by 2105.

Ok. I re-read the synopsis again.I was too much in shock to notice THIS LITTLE BIT OF INFO...:P

President Bishop asks the turtles to help track down a dangerous mercenary, Torbin Ziix!! I guess Mr. Bishop has seen light or something and is a good guy? I personally was hoping he would have died or something. Oh well, everyone should be given a chance to repent! Maybe Karai has hope too...

Bishop...a good guy? No, I don't believe it. I CAN'T believe it. If this is indeed true, then FF truly sucks. Bishop was such an amazing villian. To make him a goodie would ruin his character. Please don't let this be true!!!

He's a politician... no politician can be a good guy....except maybe for Abraham Lincoln.... :P

blue_angel99
10-08-2006, 08:56 PM
That's what I thought at first, but then again his whole purpose in life is to protect the earth from alien invaders by creating super human soldiers using mutant DNA. The turtles aren't truly his enemies, though he made them his. They took it kinda personal when he tried to disect them.

It makes no sense to fight aliens when they coexist with humans, hence the career change. Maybe he twarted a major invasion and became the people's hero. Think about the episode title for a minute...;)

All will be revealed next Saturday...

Sorry to those who are a bit upset. Let's give this episode a chance before we call foul.

Damn str8. If you want to be a good guy, don't join the bad guys' club. He'd be a lawyer if they truly wanted to make him intolerably evil, but better stories can come from him being in a position of limitless power.

I think it's quite obvious Bishop is a Republican. A leopard doesn't change their stripes.. well maybe Karai.. there is still good in her. But Bishop no way, this is probably his first step to um.. wiping out all aliens! Yeah! Plus this got to be an intro for the Dark Turtles

TerranigmaFreak

You know, I find it hilarious everytime someone tells me Bishop is a great villian.

Ok, let's look at what Bishop has been able to accomplish in 2 seasons.

Bishop was able to rip-off millions in tax payer money to continue his super soldier research. And that's about it.

Let's look at his failures.

Bishop was able to extract DNA from the TMNT thus advancing his research by decades and we've never seen a single super soldier that works. I THINK the Rat King's actually one of them, but he's hardly super. Oh let's not forget he's gotten millions of tax payer dollars to go even further with his research. So where are his super soldiers? He keeps talking about them for 2 or 3 seasons. WHERE ARE THE RESULTS? He's just all talk.

How many times was he able to defeat the TMNT? Well, he was able to defeat them in their nightmares. Oh yeah, I guess he was kinda successful with his money scheme. Of course that also just backfired in his face with a monster outbreak.

He manipulated the TMNT to do his dirty work for him only to have it backfire in his face while actually providing a cure for Donny.

Now let's compare him to a certain alien with a spikey armor, shall we?

Yup, Shredder's been defeated countless times as well. I don't think you need me to name them all.

Now, the Shredder's accomplishments range from starting several intergalatic wars. He's totally defeated the turtles at least once and trashed April's apartment. He used the Triceraton invasion to his advantage and actually built a way to leave earth. He took over the future and managed to pretty much kill off 3 of the 4 turtles along with Splinter. He was able to escape death a few times despite the fact that's nothing but an alien squid. He even escaped his Utrom prison and caused the Utrom ship to crash on earth. He gave power to the Tokugawa in fedual Japan and successfully built his own evil empire.

Oh, and even Karai's been able to defeat the turtles and drove them from their home.

Bishop was a filler villian, nothing more. The writers obviously didn't care about him. Where is he in the Lost Season? The fact is, the lost season was meant to be a 13 episode thing and Bishop was never an important part of it. The writers didn't even try to be creative with Bishop's back story. Remember the episode where they battled his cybrog clone? Bishop was thrown into a huge hook and got impaled. Oh look, a villian that looks like he's been killed only to walk out of the battle alive, where have I seen that before? Not only that, but when you finally find out about him, it was really anti-climatic.

What is more believable in a fantasy world like TMNT? A robot being able to walk out of a battle alive because his suit's head was cut off, or a guy with a melting body being able to escape a huge hook impaled into his body? Let's not forget a hook that size being impaled into a guy's body would also destroy his spine and major internal organs. But since his body is able to melt, we're to believe he is able to survive even though his major organs would be destroyed.

1: Bishop IS in The Lost Season.... He and Baxter bring Nano back to life....and um..then they all team up with the turtles to fight Demon Shredder.

2: His backstory isn't creative??? So... A man who was a General in the War of 1812 and abducted by aliens at the Battle of New Orleans...aliens who did experiements on him that heightened his lifespan....isn't creative??? Sure he's since cloned himself who knows how many times....and then he teams up with Grant and creates a form of M.I.B after a ship crashed (probably where he got the initial cloning tech).

I was about to say, Torbin Zixx is an allie. You people are freaking over nothing. Why would they make Bishop a good guy? They have nothing to gain from it. Him being the president comes with certain advantages. He probably can't do anything about the aliens that abducted him, but he sure as hell can do whatever he wants to the turtles to gain revenge.

Basically, I am still trying to figure out why the turtles aren't alive in 2105. If you think back to the comic "Holes" from Tales... One of the Leonardos says that Donatello gave him the sword he fights with on his 100th birthday. We don't even know how old he is in that comic! To say the turtles are no more 99 years into the future is crap! Their lifespan out lasts that of almost any other creature.

Yes this looks to be the episode that can deside the fate of the new show. I realize Bishop has haters but they have to realize he has many fans too I'm one of them. It seems like he knows who the Turtles are which is why he is sending them after Zixx, Bishop might even offer to send the Turtles home if they bring in Zixx alive.

One thing is Bishop has never been a bad guy. his methods may have been dark and evil but his goal's have always been noble, his purpose always for the greater good. Bishop is a complex villain that is nether good nore evil. Well he is a good guy who has sold his soal so to speak and now acts without regard to anyone or thing.

If Fast Forward makes him clearly good or evil that will suck. Bishop is great for his amubigity. For not being an outright bad guy like Shredder.

Well looks like FF has gotten good. After a few filler episodes I can see many good things happening now.

I like the changes taking place now. Multiple chances at good guys being either good or bad, a villian, that I have a feeling will be as sinister as the best villians of 2k3. I have this feeling though, that Bishop will somehow still be pulling pranks like he has before. I'm calling that now.

This was a very good episode. I didn't think they would do much action in FF, but I was wrong.

As people have already mentioned, FF is finally? back on track. Surprising it took 5 episodes to get this far. Anyway, about this episode, it had everything we've been looking for and got rid of everything we hated. We saw less if anything of Cody and Sterling. Biggles never showed. It seems that Cody's uncle Darius has yet to make a 'big' impact. Who knows? Yes, the theme song was there but hey, you can't win them all. Bishop was in top form (seems skinnier...is that possible?) and the Turtles interacted well. None of them made any cringe worthy jokes. The jokes and dialouge were pretty standard. If it wasn't for the animation, it could've been up to par with the 2K3 series. Torbin Zixx was a good "villian". Seeing that the real villian has just arrived, it will be interesting to see what he brings to the table. Hoping the Dark Turtles make an appearance soon. The preview for the next episode seems good with ample action. Overall, things are shaping up and should take form soon. I was hesitant to stick with FF but now, who knows? Let's hear the rest of the thoughts.

Well, not everything. Sadly, "It's Ninja Time!" looks to be permanent, and they said it about three times in this episode.

Otherwise I agree the episode was really great. Had this had the same animation of Seasons 1-4, it would have been on par with how great this show always was.

To be honest I'm liking Cody, but I'm glad he's not going to be a sidekick in every episode. I'm glad the TMNT aren't going to put him in danger and ask him to come along constantly.

Ecto Jedi

I...Didn't...Really...Like it.

Bishop's triangular mouth kind of killed any sense of coolness the character once had. Plus, he's an ally now? Hopefully that's all just a ploy of his to gain the trust of the Turtles and of the various alien races, only to turn on them in the future. Seeing Bishop make peace with all those aliens was just too out of character, I thought.

ZariusTwo

FF is'nt back on track, it never was on the right one in the first place, poor episode, bland characterisation, blander animation, and the cliches in the script made anything good seem inconsistent

I will predict this now. BEHOLD MY WORDS, and watch them play out...

The dark turtles will come from Bishop. He's the one who made them I bet. I will bet anything on it.

Why you ask?

Remember in 2k3, how Bishop got their DNA? Remember how it put his research ahead by 50 years? Maybe it was 50 years in 2105.

I'm telling ya now, the dark turtles come from Bishop.

I HAVE SPOKEN . *rides away on a lightning bolt*

This was the first episode of FF that didn't make me want to burn my television set. Cody was not in it which is a plus, no Sterling, no british robo cop, or overly cartoony visual quirks. Pretty good to have those elements gone an episode.

This episode did seem more like an old school style episode of the 2003-2005 series. Which was good. I was thrilled when I saw Bishop, but what the hell is up with his mouth!? Did he morph into a cat man or something? :ohwell: And I think this episode was the first one that had normal looking people in it; you know the ones that where at the moon port.

Now on to Torbin Zixx, he sounds like he is voiced by Scott McNeil who I love to pieces. He looks like he could be a cool character. To early to tell just yet. I liked how he was out manurveing the turtles and how he was taunting Raphael, and made him land on his face at least twice in this episode. I'm thinking that this Torbin Zixx guy is going to be the new replacement for Casey Jones in the buddy department. Not in the easy comradery that Casey and Raph shared but more of a: "I'm gonna kick your ass--taunting--oh look your trouble I guess i'll save you--begrudging respect" sort of way. All in all not to bad.

and the preview seemed rather interesting, if you ignore Mikey stuffing his face!

Well... I liked this! Not that I've disliked any of them so far... I miss the depth, but I feel like they're making up for it with fun plots.

I was quite surprised that Bishop initiated this alliance with aliens in the first place... I was still halfway expecting a Volume 4-esque introduction to alien society through someone like the Utroms. But I do like that Bishop started looking for other venues to keep the world safe... an alliance seems counter-productive at first thought, but it works rather well. I have a feeling, though, that he still harbors a deep prejudice for some aliens, if not all anymore. I doubt he'd be thrilled to see one of the guys who abducted him in the first place. :ohwell:

I'd forgotten that the Turtles don't know his origins; only we do. They would be ever-so-shocked to find out he was born in the late 1700's... http://www.geocities.com/jafarnut/blink.gif

Zixx was fun... reminded me marginally of Nobody. I liked his attitude. I was actually rather expecting a Xanatos-like plot on Bishop's part, with Zixx actually working for him... but I still don't rule that out yet. Sh'okanobo is still pretty mysterious... eggs? He brought eggs to Earth? Weird...

I was bothered that the Turtles were fooled by the guy in the bar who clamed to be Zixx... I guess they couldn't afford to assume he can't change shape or something, but come on... :p

To say the turtles are no more 99 years into the future is crap! Their lifespan out lasts that of almost any other creature. There's a whole lot more to them than just turtle-ness, anymore. They're a different creature altogether, really, with some mammalian characteristics. Anyway, most little pond turtles don't live THAT long, 20-30 years, certainly not longer than humans, so their lifespans have probably actually been lengthened, but not so much they'd outlive humans. Of course, this is my opinion, since there's no other canon sources of how old they could get, other than Archie. Well, that's not quite what I meant... I mean, we know they're still around in their late 20's in Vol 4, so it's a good bet they'll live longer than pond turtles. :p

Biggles never showed.*gasp* You're right! That's wonderful!! :D ;)

Wow... :blanksta: That was actually pretty damn cool. It still has that watered-down taste to it, but there was enough plot involved in this episode to distract me from most of the annoyingly obvious errors in judgement. Leo was too sure that fat guy was Zixx. Raph makes himself sound like an idiot by pointing out the incredibly obvious. Who didn't realize that was a smoke screen? Altogether, this was a plot-driven episode. That's not an adequate replacement for intellectual or emotional depth, but we never saw depth in FF before anyway. It was just more entertaining than the previous FF eps. It actually reminded me of the "Return to New York" eps. Will we ever get an explanation of how those "Shredder clones" only looked like Churell's exo-suit? Perhaps through inspecific, indirect allusions in the lost season, we'll be given more clues to draw our own conclusions.

EDIT: I guess the writers decided it wasn't necessary to explain why the Turtles no longer mind Uncle Darius. Sure, they were introduced at the conclusion of the Inuwashi Gunjin situation he was responsible for, but where was the obvious suspicion? That just screams "inconsistancy". It's like they can't decide if they want to be painfully obvious or not.

Cool ep! So the turtles work for President of the Federation, Bishop now??? At least we found out what the signifigance

Well this should be getting more and more interesting now...with Bishop as the President (and founder) of the U.F.P and

This episode was pretty cool. It was good seeing Bishop again even if he decided to be a good guy. I'm glad there was a good amount of quality action...:D

This Sh'okanobo character -- he seems really strange to me. I wonder how the Turtles feel about meeting him...:???: I'm sure him and Torbin Zixx are the best of friends...

I never thought Bishop would be a president that eveyone would like. He was a jerk before, but I guess he had to change his attitude to get elected.

I give this episode a four out of five; I thought it was quite an improve over last week's. Next week's epsode looks just as good mainly cuz the Turtles finally encounter Sh'okanobo.

Not a half bad episode, for FF. It ranks with some of the lesser, non filler but still not great, 2k3 episodes. I did find it odd that Bisop had become the President of the P.G.A. (him standing in front of that flag made me laugh.) and the guys were sooooo sure that that man mountain was Zixx. I also found the first incounter with Zixx to be a tad cartoonie in it's action (Kinda like the OT's action style). I did like most of the restof the episode. It's great that Zixx isn't a black and white villian and neither is Bishop (which is why I like him).
Anyone notice the Shredder-esque shoulderpads on Sh'okanobo. Maybe that's how you tell eho the real villian is...spikey shoulder pads.

And yes Ultimate Shred-man that was a Utrom...I saw 2. One in an exo-suit and one on his little pod.

When they're looking for Torbin Zixx the Turtles enter a bar, upon entering they overhear a large muscular guy claiming he's Zixx to 2 small beings sitting at a table. So they then decide to just rush this "Zixx" and take him down. Only to have the real Zixx also be in the bar at the time.

Finally, an episode that is legitimately good. Unfortunately, it also proves that the Fast Forward angle would have worked so much better if the writers were allowed to continue writing like they had been doing all along. I don't mind the "It's ninja time!" stuff too much, but the show would be much better without it.

Oh, and don't be so sure that those eggs will hatch the dark turtles. My sources tell me that those eggs are actually PIZZA MONSTERS

...no, really...

;)

Eh, I think I'm probably wrong but I've been thinking that the dark turtles may be the turtles' future selves. Though, if that were the case there would have to be some headache inducing paradoxes going on.

Ok, so I admit that for FF, this was alot better than the previous episodes. But that's not saying much seeing the complete and utter CRAP they've been shoveling out before this. If this were 2K3, this'd be a horrible ep. Sadly, for FF, it was 'ok'.

I dunno, I'm just not amused. I was bored. Bishop looked like crap; and I LIKED Bishop as a villian. He was dangerous, with the possibilites! I hate that he's so docile, even if it's a ruse.

It's missing so much that made the 2K3 series good... It'll never compare, sadly, even though we all know they can do so much more in terms of writing and storyline, from what we've been shown (take SAINW and other high quality eps). They seem like mere shadows of the characters that they were before.

...

And who LIED and said Cody wasn't in it? I saw him. I heard him. I am not amused.

Pretty good episode for compared to the other eps aired in the FF series. It's about time we got some twists and a connecting story. I can't say much about the episode, because I still don't feel as into it as I am the 2k3 series.

I just watched the episodes of The Ninja Tribunal season that aired, and that story is just awesome! This one, however, couldn't touch The Ninja Tribunal if it tried.

Torbin Zixx is pretty cool. I liked him. I liked how the Turtles are adapting to the future. Still hope they don't make it their home.

Some pretty nice lines, in there. I liked Raph's "Oh, you think you're funny? I am SO gonna knock your block off!" HAHAHA! That sounded VERY Raphy. And Mikey's "Oh, hip-hop couldn't make it 100 years into the future, but Bishop did" line made me laugh. This episode proved the writers can write a good script, but are just wasting their efforts for lightheartedness.

Good ep, nothing much more to say about it. Except I'd wish to hell that they get rid of that annoying, hellacious, terrible f***ing phrase, "It's Ninja Time!" UGH! I'm going to smash something the next time I hear that corny ass phrase. I just realized this was a phrase used in The Next Mutation. I hope that's not a sign of what's to come for this series.

I... didn't... like it.

First, turtles were dumb. "Hey, it's Bishop! *gasp* Um, ok, we'll work for you."

Raph jumping three times in a row through a hologram? Come on, everyone would have caught the third one at least, Zixx even told them that he already got away... It was stupid. Plus, the blue glow clearly showed that it is a hologram. The turtles should usually spot such details...

Same for the bar, where they mistaken Zixx with some fat guy. This was dumb too.

And what the hell is up with "It's ninja time!"? Damn, it's beyond annoying! I hate it :dead:

Second, animation becomes even worse. Bishop's mouth? He looks like a badger now. The new villain (Sh-whatever his name was)? His simplistic design makes him look like he was taken from other cartoon and glued in TMNT, doesn't fit at all.

At least we finally have a storyline going spread over several episodes. I was getting tired of fillers.

I still thought it was a very good episode. Reminds me alot of some of the better 2k3 episodes.

I honestly though, don't give a rats butt about the animation. Sure 2k3 had nice animation, but as long as 2k3 can tell good stories (with this episode it should be picking up now. So many options for cool bad guys now,) then the animation can go jump in the lake. I liken it to NES vs PS3. PS3 will have some sucky games but look good, while the NES has some superb games but look inferior.

I am telling you naggers of Bishop being a good guy though, he isn't... I can tell now he's using the turtles as a pawn. I also stand by my statement that the dark Turtles are his creation. Why would Shokonabo make Dark Turtles, or already harbor them, if he has never met the Turtles or even heard of them? Or would someone who actually has (had) the Turtles DNA, make Dark Turtles? If they came from anyone else, why Dark Turtles? Why not Dark Gerbals, or Salamanders?

One last thing? Do all those who gripe and complain about FF, plan to still keep watching it? Personally if I was THAT let down, and felt I was going to gripe a bit about the show, I would just stop watching and save myself the uneeded stress... However with some consistancies now showing up between FF and 2k3, I couldn't be happier.

Here's the thing that's getting to me, X.

I don't really care if they say "It's Ninja Time!" (or other catch phrase) multiple times an episode. I don't care if the theme song is a little annoying. I don't care if they try to stuff dorky jokes in there-- hey, I even enjoy laughing at TPTB when the jokes don't work. I don't care whether the turtle clan adopts Cody (and I don't think he's interfering that much so far, he's more like a native guide). And I don't care that the artistic style is different.

We have good writers and artists, who are capable of delivering some very sweet dialogue and fab stories. I feel like they're doing their best to keep the quality up.

But I do care that the characters have started doing some pretty moronic things. These changes are supposed to target the kids. I'm fine with making the show kid-friendly, but I hate when people act like kids are complete morons.

I'm kind of torn though. Some of these things are SO stupid that they seem like an outright parody of 2K3, knowing that the same people are involved.

I think the TMNT working for Bishop is a pretty interesting twist. It's pretty sweet considering they spent the past two seasons more or less fighting against him, and this season they're working for him. Bishop talking to the TMNT on those computer screens was very cool.

And please, we all know Bishop is never as he seems on the surface. I bet he's scheming one way or another, and we'll find out eventually.

I'm really enjoying how FF is explaining some backstory of the future now, how New Manhattan was built and how aliens appeared. We still need to know what really goes on in O'Neil Tech and about Cody's Uncle, but I'm sure that'll happen eventually.

I'm very much looking foward to how this season plays out, it's looking really promising.

I agree.

They managed to totally screw the characters that they built over the past seasons in TMNT2K3. Raph is now yelling "Cowabunga!" and there's no sign of his anger, only stupidity, Leo doesn't care if his brothers do something stupid like stealing a police car, Mikey became really annoying and he seems to not care about anything but junk food and computer games, Don is even greater geek than he used to be... Even Bishop is different now. I liked them the way they were and it really annoys me when they do stuff like this, things that they never would have done in the past TMNT2K3 seasons.

Where is Raph's anger, where are Leo's leadership and wise advices?

good points Iris.

I do like the Bishop being the good guy role. You don't wanna cliche your cartoons too much (as hard as that is to say.) I applaud the new Turtles series (2k3/ff) for being the first cartoon I have ever seen to mix things up to seriously unpredictable moments.

I like seeing bad guys (or people who seem bad) become good. If Bishop were to be bad and get stopped over and over, despite being a badass when it comes to fighting, then eventually it'd get old. As long as the Turtles are around they will never fail against their enemies, so having Bishop as a good guy, he wasn't played out too much as a bad guy. Very well balanced.

On another point, I think I remember Raph only saying Cowabunga once, but I do agree they are lightening up the Turtles to kid friendly perportitions. However, we must be greatful there is still a Turtles series on TV. Anything is better then nothing, except for TNM, that can be excused.

Oh and to the naysayers. If you had to pick one, who would you pick?

- Episode 1's Anakin Skywalker?

- TMNT:FF's Cody Jones?

You have to pick one. In all honesty though, Cody isn't as cliched as many of the kids added to series to lighten them up. He's actually helpful and not the distress victim.

I am telling you naggers of Bishop being a good guy though, he isn't... I can tell now he's using the turtles as a pawn.Bishop never was a bad guy. He's an enemy, but his intentions are to protect the human race. He certainly lacks compassion, but he surely considers himself a necessary evil. I liken him to Smallville's Lex Luthor. He's not evil incarnate, but he has the potential to be.
But, a big clue they dropped was that Bishop denied the existence of the officially respelled Sh'okanabo (which no longer rhymes with gobo ^_^ ). Since the majority of the fans want to consider Bishop a bad guy, they will likely say that he hired Sh'okanabo to do the cloning for him (since genetic manipulation is outlawed on Earth). But, he can still use the "Oh dang, I didn't know" defense later, perpetuating his ambiguity.I also stand by my statement that the dark Turtles are his creation. Why would Shokonabo make Dark Turtles, or already harbor them, if he has never met the Turtles or even heard of them? Or would someone who actually has (had) the Turtles DNA, make Dark Turtles? If they came from anyone else, why Dark Turtles? Why not Dark Gerbals, or Salamanders?I couldn't agree more. There is no other simple explanation, and they're supposed to be avoiding complex everything. :ohwell:One last thing? Do all those who gripe and complain about FF, plan to still keep watching it? Personally if I was THAT let down, and felt I was going to gripe a bit about the show, I would just stop watching and save myself the uneeded stress...Good idea, but not everyone cares to be so reasonable. I don't find the show to be horrible, but I'm not thrilled with the dumbing-down. As for the people who only watch the show for more excuses to hate it, I really wish that they would find something to do with their time that doesn't involve harboring negative feelings. It really isn't healthy to be like that.We have good writers and artists, who are capable of delivering some very sweet dialogue and fab stories. I feel like they're doing their best to keep the quality up.

But I do care that the characters have started doing some pretty moronic things. These changes are supposed to target the kids. I'm fine with making the show kid-friendly, but I hate when people act like kids are complete morons.Damn straight. This pisses me off too. How do people stay in business when they don't realize how this has been the ruin of many a show in the past? However, playing Zelda every weekend with my 9 year old nephew, I can't say he's even close to the problem solver I was at his age. So, perhaps they're just lowering the bar so they don't intimidate the oblivious majority.I'm kind of torn though. Some of these things are SO stupid that they seem like an outright parody of 2K3, knowing that the same people are involved.Um, hello... They named it "Farce Forward" for a reason.

Yeah, I was thinking that a mellowed Bishop kind of makes sense. I mean, isn't this the exact future that the Bishop of 2K3 was fighting to prevent? I think if 2K3 Bishop had time-travelled with the turtles, he'd have had a heart attack. But FF Bishop has to have come to terms with it by now, at least somewhat. And in that light, the turtles would look very terran (they are native to earth, after all), and his time with them would look like the good old days... or maybe the naive dark ages. The point is, his position must have shifted somewhat, and it will be interesting to find out what he's up to.

Well from what Cody has said he knows a bit about what the turtles WILL eventually do.... He's informed Donatello of some of his future inventions like:

1: The Battle Shell HQ thing

2: Don, Casey, and April will form O'Neill Tech together

And with Bishop as President of the PGA (no not THAT PGA) one would think that his past would be public knowledge now.

Like Iris, I agree -- especially given that Bishop has shown himself to be willing to work with the Turtles in order to ensure the protection of humanity (and he even held up his end of the bargain)! If the Turtles hadn't FAST FORWARDEDEDED, I wouldn't have been surprised if he'd tried to recruit Donnie and Leatherhead to help him out with his work. Bishop is harsh, but he's not evil. In fact, the only way I see him actually becoming evil would involve him reasoning that because Earth has become so overrun with aliens, it must be purified through genocide and genetic cleansing... but that might be a bit too dark for the new season!

I object to the "Smallville" comparison, though -- 'cause even FF isn't that bad! ;)

I just realized this was a phrase used in The Next Mutation. I hope that's not a sign of what's to come for this series. It was "It's green time", although they had several others, equally irritating, and they may have said "ninja" a few times (can't remember clearly), but not so often. I would be climbing the walls if they used the "green" phrase... THAT is not only annoying, it has bad memories attached to it. :p

Second, animation becomes even worse. Bishop's mouth? He looks like a badger now. That is character design, that is not animation, although I did notice it only looked strange in the shots where he first appeared to the Turtles. It wasn't so obvious in most other scenes.

LOL, I am of the opposite opinion, as an animation enthusiast. I'm not bothered so much if the plot is mush, as long as at looks good. :p Of course, if the plot isn't mush, I get a chance to overanalyze, which is ever-so-much-fun. But I can deal if it looks nice. ;)

Oh, "It's Ninja Time" has been said enough times on The Next Mutation. I should know, I just got a hold of some of the episodes and watched them out of boredom. Yes, that phrase was definitely used more than enough times. The fact that the phrase has transferred to this series are writings on the wall for me. Well, I finally managed to see the episode too (takes me around a week before I get them).

I have to say, I don't really see what's so much better about this episode from the others, the only things that were slightly better are Bishop's return and the beginning of a plot. Torbin Zixx? Meh, could have been better. Gimme Nobody, now he was cool.

But there were still too many annoying things in it:

1. Why doesn't Cody know who Bishop is (or used to be), I thought he read about the turtles lives in Casey's and April's journals? I cannot believe they didn't mention Bishop in there somewhere after all he's done to the guys.

2. "It's Ninja time!" reared its ugly head three times.

3. Raphael falling for that stupid halogram trick three times? Wasn't funny the first time and certainly didn't improve with repetition.

4. The whole group acted really stupid in that bar. I mean, they even notice that the blue guy is a lot fatter than the pictures they've seen of Torbin Zixx. Also, they comment on the fact how dumb it is to loudly tell everyone that he is Zixx and still they think it's him. What's wrong with them, they never used to be that stupid.

5. First they stupidly look at Zixx when he makes his escape from the bar and then Raph has to fight him all alone in that alley. Where the hell were the others, taking a break?

Didn't April and Casey end up running into Bishop during the alien invader storyline that kicked off Season 3? Been so long since I saw those episode I can't quite recall.

Still, outside of that, neither of the two really had all that much interaction with Bishop. Worst I can imagine is the Turtles mentioning that Bishop helped cure Don. Probably not enough to get Bishop mentioned all that much.

everyone keeps saying that about cody not knowing Bishop but I don't recall the guys ever saying anything to april or casey about him let alone april or casey ever coming into contact with them.
For friends of the guys they sure do seem to stay out of the way allot.

Watch "Worlds Collide" part 2 and 3. The turtles and the Fugitoid had been kidnapped by Bishop and where about to be dissected. Splinter, April and Casey come to their rescue and both of them saw how he wanted to diessect them. Heck, later Casey fights him and gets electrocuted by Bishop.

So both know this guy very well, never mind them not staying out of the way, invading Bishop's base and all that.

The simple solution to Cody not knowing that the Turtles enemy, Bishop, was the same man he knew of as benevolent President Bishop is because the writers give retarded dialogue. Having Cody say, "Are you telling me that the Bishop who tried to dissect you is the President? Someone must have pulled him through a time window before I was born. Bishop from your time should be long since dead otherwise" would be way to complicated for their new tone, and "So, President Bishop is the same guy that tried disecting you a century ago? Phr33ky..." would have inspired the same argument. It's easier to write off Cody as more oblivious than the turtles are now. If they had made Cody less oblivious than the turtles, people would go, "See! I knew that little bastard was trying to steal the spotlight! This show is too frustrating to watch now". So, Cody playing dumb was the lesser of the evils.

So, my comment was harsh. But, it wasn't an insult. So, Cody playing dumb was the lesser of the evils. The man did the best with the orders he was given. Even though I'm just being teased here, you gave me reason to explain myself. :lightheartedirritation:

EDIT: Hey! Where did the light-hearted irritation emoticon go?? Nothing's going my way today. :( :goof:
