Another great story by the TMNTA team. It seems everytime they get together now they come up with something good. I only wish the Forever War would come out sooner...

My review:
Tales of the TMNT vol. 2 #27: An April solo story taking place after TMNT vol. 4 #27. This issue focuses on April dealing with the truth about her “birth”, revealed back in TMNT #22. The story is a great April spotlight and beautifully plotted. The art is a little different from what TMNT readers have been seeing lately, but nice all the same an harkens a bit back to the Archie days. Watching April come to terms with her origin and finding the will to live was a great piece of character development and one of April’s strongest moments. Almost makes up for the wackiness of her origin retcon from TMNT #22. A great story for longtime TMNT readers, but the casual fan will probably find it boring.
One of the better April stories I've read.

i loved this. it's one of those weird issues where now that i look back at what happened in it, it was pretty corny… but when i was reading it, it got me. i think that's the tmnta guys' specialty. look at what they did for adventures.
what is the word on forever war? last i heard about it was last year when they originally announced that it would be out sometime this year.

I really enjoyed this issue, and could relate to how april felt, I'm sure we've all been a bit lost in life at some stage, looking for meaning.

Abou time April got back to being herself and not some cumbersome, crayon drawing Emo. Even If I am one of the origin story's strongest supporters, April went through mulitiple character traits that just were'nt her. This is the closest she's been to resembling the old MIRAGE April of old.

I enjoyed the story, and I enjoy Allan's work - but he seemed to forget that April is like 40 now, and not a young co-ed.

Finally got this issue... It was pretty good with April coming to terms with who and what she is. The issue is dedicated to the memory of Steve Irwin and when she first sees the bears April goes "Crikey.."
Some parts were a bit predictable... I figured out the whole thing with the horse right away...
Didn't expect to see Splinter tho. Was he helping her continue to live or was he there in case she died? Seems a bit... odd.

Got this one too. I don't know, for some reason I LIKED April being a drawing. It made her... well, the Mirage April and completely seperate from all other incarnations. The lingering thought of not knowing when she'll disappear is an interesting one. Y'know how everyone here wants stories about how each turtle died? Screw that, I wanna see the moment April disappears and see how everyone will react. Will she randomly vanish at some unexpected time... or does she live out her normal life, but when she dies her body vanishes? I liked seeing her cope with her origin, though I also would have liked an issue of her as Nobody kicking ass. Or an issue explaining WHY she decided to take that persona, has she even seen the real Nobody at some point?
The story itself was cool, especially her resolve at the end where she finally decided that despite everything she still wanted to live. Splinter for the save, even from beyond the grave. I did like her line 'You know how life imitates art? Well.. I'm art imitating life..." Interesting ending though. What's the deal with that strange old woman?
The art was also very cool, April was totally cute, looking like her Archie incarnation a bit, was it the same artist? They even gave her a cute lil butt, so you know it's April. No offense to Lawson, but I'm glad he didn't draw this particular issue. LOL

I can't remember an issue where April meets Nobody. Though I'm guessing Casey probably told her about him during the events of "Shades of Grey" and "TMNT: Volume 2."
I still haven't been able to find this particular issue of Tales. I love Chris Allan's work and the plot seems interesting so I hope I stumble upon it someday.
EDIT: Stumbled upon it last week! Interesting read and great art by Allan, as usual.
